Morawiecki Announces Special Resolution on Illegal Immigration
The PiS government will adopt a special resolution in which we will express our opposition to illegal immigration. Why must we do this? Because the head of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen, after visiting the Italian island of Lampedusa, announced another fatal plan for Europe. European bureaucrats completely disregard the security of the citizens of our continent, and therefore also the security of Polish families, women, and children - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in a clip published on social media. - There are no 'districts of terror' anywhere in Poland. There are none, because the PiS government, contrary to what Donald Tusk is now saying, is effectively defending our borders against the wave of illegal migrants. Tusk is now pretending to care about Polish security. That's a good one. He is a dangerous man, Poland must be protected from Tusk - emphasizes the head of government.

08:29

Tomczyk:

It's Time for the Foreign Minister to Resign
- In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which guards Polish sovereignty and independence, a visa 'gang' is emerging, allowing people who should never have ended up here to enter Poland and the Schengen Area. And note, this is very important – hypocrisy, deceit. A government that said: not a single immigrant, a government that built a fence on the border. These are illegal immigrants, if someone couldn't get a visa and got one for money, it doesn't mean they were a legal migrant. It means they gave a bribe - said Cezary Tomczyk in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka on Polsat News's 'Graffiti'. - What about Minister Rau? He is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, he heads the ministry. He travels to the United States as if nothing had happened. […] If you were at the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and tried to convince the world that you knew nothing about your deputy ministers and their activities, then I'm very sorry, but the word I mentioned [idiot] comes to mind. Or that person would have to be lying - he continued. - Let him return today, let him submit his resignation, because it is time for the resignation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs - he stressed.

08:35

Tomczyk:

I Cannot Imagine Cooperation with Confederation
- I cannot imagine it - said Cezary Tomczyk in "Graffiti" on Polsat News, when asked about cooperation with Confederation.

Żukowska on migrants in Lampedusa: Poland should not participate in this allocation, division
- Poland should not participate in this allocation, division [of migrants who arrived in Lampedusa]. It should certainly help Italy, just as we helped with fires in Greece, by sending a team, a field hospital [...] however, Poland should clearly and firmly state that it accepted over 4 million refugees at its peak, and currently around 2 million are staying here, from areas engulfed in real war, from Ukraine. And countries that, in turn, have not accepted so many refugees, have the space to take care of the people who ended up in Lampedusa - said Anna Maria Żukowska in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM's "Morning Interview".

08:48

Żukowska on the Polish-Belarusian Border Wall: It Should Not Be Dismantled in the Near Future
- This wall [on the Polish-Belarusian border] has already been built for quite a lot of money. Perhaps it could have been built cheaper, and we will certainly investigate that, but it is already standing and I believe it should not be dismantled in the near future [...]. I would very much like it to be possible to take it down someday, but really, various circumstances would have to change. However, if democracy truly prevails in Belarus someday, if the government changes, then there will be a moment to think about it - said Anna Maria Żukowska on RMF FM.

Tusk:

"They will not silence us, they will face criminal charges." Rachoń interrupts KO leader's speech before TVP with questions about Merkel and Putin

The opposition leader held a morning press conference in front of TVP to announce the list of KO politicians delegated to participate in TVP programs. After a few minutes, Donald Tusk's speech was interrupted by Michał Rachoń – what he was saying exactly was inaudible during the broadcast, apart from fragments of questions about conversations with Putin and Merkel. The moderator of the conference informed about the necessity of calling the police.

- I have the impression that you will appreciate the efforts of a PiS official, which actually have the value of a wonderful illustration of what state television in Poland is like today. I want to tell you that they will not silence us - stated Donald Tusk.

- The situation in Ukraine looked exactly like this when I had the opportunity to visit Ukraine during the conflict on the Maidan. This is how the then authorities treated the opposition and sent so-called 'titushky', officials whose work deceptively resembles the actions of political police, provocateurs - the PO leader continued.

- My words about criminal responsibility for all those who break laws and the Constitution, destroying state television, have gained exceptional confirmation today. These kinds of people, who disrupt, among other things, opposition press conferences, will also face criminal charges after winning the elections - Tusk added.

08:53

Żukowska:

All Strategic Companies Should Become State-Owned
- All strategic companies should become state-owned, public companies, because many generations worked to bring them into existence, and they also represent strategic issues. That is, if we talk about the energy sector, let's recall the attempted takeover of Polish Azoty by Russian oligarchs and what would have happened if that attempt had succeeded. It could have destabilized the fertilizer market in Poland and there would have been a risk of countries with whom relations are hostile, both from their side and ours, influencing the economic and political situation in Poland, and there is no consent for that from me or from Lewica - said Anna Maria Żukowska on RMF FM.

08:54

Tusk to Rachoń: Your emotional agitation is medically concerning

- Please do not interrupt me, sir. You are a very ill-bred person, not only a paid functionary but an ill-bred human being – Donald Tusk addressed Michał Rachoń in front of the TVP building.

- Do you realize that your emotional agitation is medically concerning? You appear extraordinarily excited – the Civic Platform leader continued.

- We will not back down, and this man, just like his employers, will face criminal charges for what he is doing today. I can promise you that – he added.

08:55

Tusk announces the return of some KO politicians to TVP:

So that viewers can hear the truth for a moment.
I would very much like to draw attention to one exceptional aspect regarding the events of the past dozen hours. That is why we have decided that MPs will cross the threshold of this place and participate in broadcasts and programs of the government's propaganda television, in order to use every smallest opportunity so that viewers of the government television can hear the truth for a moment - stated Donald Tusk at a press conference in front of the TVP building. KO politicians will try to be present, regardless of who works in government television and in what way, with information and with the truth, especially about the visa scandal, as well as about the latest, completely extraordinary events, such as - as generals assess it - the betrayal of state interests by Mr. Błaszczak, or the completely unbelievable words of Prime Minister Morawiecki that for the Polish countryside, the main problem, or even enemy, is Berlin, Brussels, Kyiv, and of course my humble person - said the KO leader.

08:55

Tomczyk:

PiS Gambles with Our Good Relations with Ukraine to Appeal to Confederation Supporters in the Campaign
- Various disputes stirred up with Ukraine are intentionally provoked by PiS because of the election campaign. They are currently putting our good relations on the line to appeal to the group that currently supports the Confederation - said Cezary Tomczyk on Polsat News's "Graffiti". - I absolutely stand with Polish farmers. A year and a half ago, I was with Donald Tusk at a conference, where this issue first arose, and Donald Tusk said: we need to seal the wagons, it's a simple matter. There must be full control over the grain travelling through Poland. Tell me, how could it have happened that for a year, no one sealed the wagons with Ukrainian grain destined for the south? How is this possible in a country where so much is said about agriculture? They failed to protect Polish agriculture, they are to blame, they have an EU Commissioner for Agriculture - he continued.

09:01

Żukowska on whether The Left will participate in the October 1st March: 'If not everyone is there, and it's not a march demonstrating the goal of forming a common opposition government, then no.'
- If not everyone [from the opposition will be at the October 1st march] and if it's not truly a march that would demonstrate that the goal is to form a common democratic opposition government, then no [The Left will not participate], but I think such talks still have a chance to happen, there are two weeks until then. If there is a decision that we can stand together and say that we are going into the elections for this purpose, each from their own list, to win against PiS and to form a government together, then yes, if not, then no - said Anna Maria Żukowska on RMF FM.

09:02

Tusk:

What Else is Russian Agitation if Not Morawiecki's Words Stating Brussels, Berlin, and Kyiv are the Problem and Enemy for Poles Today
- If there's a question about what exactly constitutes Russian agitation in Poland. What else could be Russian agitation than politicians who reveal NATO secrets at press conferences to exploit them in an election campaign. What else is Russian agitation if not Prime Minister Morawiecki's words stating that today the problem and enemy for Poles are Brussels, Berlin, Kyiv, and of course, the immortal Tusk in this narrative. You won't hear this on this television, - stated Donald Tusk at a press conference in front of the TVP building.

09:22

Macierewicz:

The then PO government led to the reduction and liquidation of the Polish army

- The real foundation of the thinking of then Mr. Donald Tusk, and above all Mr. Komorowski, because he wrote it down, because Komorowski published it, was that there would be no attack from Russia. This withdrawal behind the Vistula was essentially a signal to Russia that we agree to Russian domination – said Antoni Macierewicz in the program #Jedziemy on TVP Info.

- [Military units] were simply being liquidated, they were being liquidated precisely because the assumption I mentioned was adopted, that the army was an unnecessary expense. The army, from the perspective of the then government [Civic Platform - PO], the then political formation, was a waste of money that should be renounced. They led to the reduction and liquidation of the Polish army – he added.

09:39

Petru on the Non-Extension of the Grain Embargo: This is a Major Defeat for the Polish Government
- I believe this is a major defeat for the Polish government. There should have been a joint decision by the European Union. I believe the embargo should have been extended by the entire Union. The Polish government was unable to convince anyone in the European Union or the European Commission, and I'm not surprised, because we have a series of conflicts plus the anti-German, anti-EU rhetoric of the Prime Minister and Jarosław Kaczyński. So I'm not surprised they aren't listening to us. Second: I fear the Polish government's stance was just "no, period," whereas here we need to seek solutions, present arguments - stated Ryszard Petru in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program “Gość Radia Zet” (Guest of Radio Zet). - Escalation in this regard would be bad. Let's remember that Ukraine is waging war with Russia, and the fact that Ukraine sued us rather indicates the weakness of the Polish government. Let's remember, they are in a more difficult position. It is known that we are at fault because we are in a stronger position. This is a country that is waging war and has a surplus of grain [...]. The Polish government has failed this matter. Transit via Polish railways through Poland can be possible, but the only concern is that cheap Ukrainian grain does not flood the European Union - he added.

09:42

Petru on Mentzen: He Throws Proposals to the Wind and Then Says He Doesn't Know or Backs Down
- If I make a proposal, it's calculated and I know what I mean by it, whereas he [Sławomir Mentzen] throws it to the wind and then says he doesn't know or backs down. That's the difference – stated Ryszard Petru on Radio ZET. - You've just read the research, which shows: Konfederacja voters are the easiest to win over, I said so, I believed so. They are the ones easiest to convince to vote for another party, and that's why I want them to vote for me in Warsaw, and in other parts of the country for Trzecia Droga (Third Way) – he added.

09:45

Petru:

Fuel Prices Will Explode After the Elections
- The złoty has weakened significantly, we buy oil in dollars, and therefore, converting to zlotys, two: oil prices have risen globally. Orlen is subsidizing for the election period, and after the elections, there will be an explosion of prices - stated Ryszard Petru on Radio ZET. - I want fuel prices to be real. I don't want to be cheated by the state and a state-owned company, which will then overcharge me. Second: we have a monopoly of Orlen. In fact, if one state-owned concern sets prices throughout the country, it means it's a monopoly, and I would like competition. I would like to be able to pay less for fuel without Orlen's markups, and I would like it to reflect the market price, not be politically manipulated - he continued. - He is deceiving Poles [Daniel Obajtek], because he will raise them [prices] later. Otherwise, he acts to the detriment of the company, meaning he acts against the provisions of the commercial code, for which he may later face charges. He cannot act to the detriment of the company's losses, and therefore he will have to recoup the losses he is currently generating immediately after October 15 - he added.

09:47

Petru:

I'm Going to the March Because I Don't See It as a Civic Platform March
- I am going to the march [on October 1st] because I do not perceive it as a Civic Platform march, but rather a march of the opposition. I am going, I do not question the leaders' decisions, I will be there, Michał Kobosko will also be with me. We will be at this march because I believe we need to show very strongly, especially in Warsaw, that we are united on these fundamental issues - stated Ryszard Petru on Radio ZET.

09:53

Petru:

Pekao S.A., PKO BP, and Orlen for Privatization
- Pekao S.A. as a bank, PKO BP as a bank, and I believe that when it comes to Orlen, it's a more difficult matter because it must be divided and there must be competitive companies, leading to privatization. Naturally, there can be no Russian or other hands involved. It's important that these institutions are either publicly traded on the stock exchange or have strategic investors, but for there to be competition, that is the foundation - stated Ryszard Petru on Radio ZET, responding to a question about the first three privatizations after the Third Way wins the election.

09:58

Petru on the Visa Issue: Let's See Who Profited, Then We'll Know What This Organized Criminal Group Looks Like
- If the Polish government says it is fighting emigration in general, yet it is bringing in over 130,000 people from countries whose representatives it features in anti-emigration films, I believe this is hypocrisy, a scandal. Especially since there's likely a bribery scandal behind it. My message to journalists and all investigators would be, following the good American principle of "follow the money," meaning let's see who profited from this, because then we'll know what this organized criminal group looks like. It's not as if only two people took bribes for this; there were more. This is very large sums of money, so we are certainly able to get to the source - stated Ryszard Petru on Radio ZET.

Anyone Can Enter Polish Universities Without Any Control, claims PO after MEiN Audit
- We have completed an audit at the Ministry of Education and Science. Our audit concerned worrying signals that in 2022 [...] the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported to this very ministry. These doubts, or perhaps even serious accusations, concerned the issue of scholarship visas and scientific visas issued in Poland. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consular Department [...] wrote to the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science, Ms. Monika Poboża – the coincidence of surnames with the Minister is probably not accidental – reporting numerous problems regarding the verification of individuals arriving at our universities - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference. - Among the many problems highlighted was, for example, the issue of a lack of English language proficiency [...]. In the case of some universities, there were accusations that candidates were presenting clearly forged or altered documents [...]. Another issue brought to attention by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerned individuals who come to Poland but actually don't know where they are going [...]. Recruitment agencies present candidates who are completely unverified. This is what the Consular Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is writing about to this ministry, pointing out that we are dealing with simple scams, that individuals who don't know why they are coming to Poland, or are not even capable of being students, are ending up at our universities - he continued. - We wanted to ask about the scale of this practice and whether the ministry reacted to it in any way. We are finding out that the ministry cannot react to it in any way, that everything is a matter for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Interior and Administration [...] and essentially there was no reaction to this letter whatsoever. The ministry replied something to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, everyone has known about this practice for a year and a half, and absolutely nothing is happening. This means that any person can enter Polish universities, without any real basis to be here, it is completely uncontrolled, they are issued a visa, and it is unknown whether such a student will show up at our university, whether they will show up, what they will be doing at this university, where they will go in a week, in two weeks [...] a person can enter Poland who, through an intermediary company, pays the appropriate amount of money and enters Poland outside of any control - he went on to say.

11:14

Tomczyk:

Today, TVP is Russia Today
- The President, Mr. Kaczyński, announced that TVP would become the BBC in Poland. I will tell you that it is Russia Today, that TVP today is Russia Today, and Russia Today can learn propaganda from you, because no one has done so much harm in such a short time to destroy entire social groups in Poland as TVP has - said Cezary Tomczyk to a TVP journalist at a press conference.

Government Adopts Resolution on Illegal Immigration. Kaczyński: To Will Be Presented to the European Commission as Our Stance
The Council of Ministers has adopted a resolution that addresses everything connected with the current situation in Lampedusa, but this Lampedusa is merely a symbol of a situation that threatens the whole of Europe, including Poland. The resolution states that in the document to be sent to the EU, we should present the matter as follows - stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a press conference. - Firstly, to reject the abandonment of the compromise reached in 2018, which stipulated that the issue of relocation is already a settled matter. Because, please remember, we are currently returning to something that has already been definitively decided, and that the only method of realistically fighting this - and it must be termed as such - a kind of invasion, is the actual, real sealing of borders and making decisions regarding the return of those who have crossed the border to their home countries, or possibly some other solution, but always connected with removing them from one's own territory, in this case, the EU - he continued. - The Council of Ministers also points out that all kinds of announcements of relocation decisions, or these 10 points that Ms. von der Leyen has currently announced, which also contain such an announcement, are in fact an encouragement for the human trafficking industry, because that's how it must be described, for those who want to take advantage of the opportunity to illegally enter Europe. These decisions are counterproductive from the perspective of the declared goal, this must be clearly stated, and hence, and this is my comment beyond the resolution, our astonishment that they are being made - he further stated. - All of this is to be unequivocally presented to the European Commission as our position. Poland shows that it is possible to fight illegal emigration, but one must simply guard our borders. If these borders are not guarded, whether they are sea or land borders, then we are dealing with the situation that is currently happening in Lampedusa, but in time, and not a long time at that, it may turn out to be something that will occur on a far greater scale throughout Europe - PJK concluded.

11:56

Morawiecki:

Lampedusa is a warning. All of Europe, the EU could look like this

- With this adopted resolution, we want to send a clear signal to the European Commission and all those political forces, including the Civic Platform in our country, that we do not consent to illegal immigration. We also want to send a clear warning signal, because Lampedusa is such a warning. All of Europe, the entire European Union could look like Lampedusa if we continue to tread the same mistakes, the same patterns and mechanisms that the European Commission has proposed. Unfortunately, they have not learned from past mistakes and have returned to those mechanisms that were completely rejected at the European Council in June 2018 - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a press statement.

Pekao Vice-President at Krynica Forum: Bots Still a Long Way from Replacing Bank Employees
Artificial intelligence and chatbots are playing an increasingly significant role in customer interactions with banks, but they are still a long way from replacing human employees, who, in addition to providing information, also serve as advisors, experts assessed during a debate on the use of AI in banking. "For a long time to come, the knowledge and skills of employees will be crucial, among other things, for assessing credit risk of clients, something technology still struggles with," said Wojciech Werochowski, Vice-President of the Management Board of Bank Pekao S.A., overseeing the Retail Banking Division. He added that while bot technology has led to the reduction of customer service departments in banks, it has not displaced people in the banking market. "This technology is used where it increases the chances of eliminating queues and allows for cost reduction. However, the core of banking is still the human being with their empathy," stated the Vice-President of Bank Pekao. He also mentioned that while there is currently a fascination with artificial intelligence in the market, it will soon become commonplace. "In banking, bots are used to maximize customer contact. However, customers still want to come to the counter, which is understandable on a psychological and sociological level," said Vice-President Werochowski. "Human or bot? Coffee doesn't exclude tea. In serving our clients, we focus on the synergy between humans and artificial intelligence. AI supports us, among other things, in listening to and recognizing customer needs. We respond to them in parallel through digital solutions and bank advisors. The satisfaction of individuals who use Pekao's services and products is always our primary focus," Wojciech Werochowski added at the Krynica Forum.

12:06

Morawiecki:

The erroneous and insane policy of accepting illegal immigrants into Poland and the EU was implemented under Merkel's dictation

- I perfectly remember the years when Donald Tusk was the President of the European Council, and let's all remember that the entire erroneous and insane policy of accepting illegal immigrants here into Poland and the European Union, is being implemented, or was implemented, under the dictation of Angela Merkel, with Donald Tusk seconding her. I perfectly remember what he said at the European Council, as well as how he threatened consequences, meaning penalties, for not accepting illegal immigrants - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a press statement.

12:08

Morawiecki:

If Europe Faces a Rising Migratory Fever, They Propose to Break the Thermometer. This is the Proposal of the EC and PO.

- We repelled this attack from Lukashenko and Putin, who instrumentalized illegal immigrants, and we built a barrier. The barrier on the border with Belarus protects us effectively. This barrier was not supposed to exist; members of Civic Platform, like MP Hartwich, said 'let everyone in who is there, then we will determine who they are,' roughly paraphrasing her words. What does this mean? It means that the true plans of Civic Platform are to implement the orders, recommendations, and advisories of the European Commission, meaning to allow illegal immigrants in. This was also confirmed a few days ago by a Civic Platform MP in public statements that specifically concerned accepting illegal immigrants – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a press statement.

- Therefore, the proposal from the European Commission and Civic Platform is absolutely wrong and threatens to flood Poland with illegal immigrants. This proposal is such that if we have a rising migratory fever in Europe, they propose to break the thermometer – he added.

12:09

Morawiecki:

We Don't Have a Situation in Poland Like That Seen in Western European Cities, Which is Why We Adopted This Resolution Today

- We do not have a situation in Poland like the one we see in the suburbs and cities of Western Europe, Paris, Marseille, Stockholm, Malmö, Gothenburg, and many, many other cities also beyond our western border. Looted shops, burning cars, destroyed schools, hospitals, rapes on the streets, robberies, drug gangs clashing with each other on the streets. We do not have such a situation in Poland, and the Law and Justice government does not agree to allow such a situation in Poland, which is precisely why we adopted this resolution today during the Council of Ministers meeting - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a press statement.

12:27

Morawiecki:

"Let Us In Power, and Then We'll Figure Out Who We Are" - That's How You Can Describe Civic Platform

- The policy pursued by our political opponents, Civic Platform, is very dangerous. One could say that the elections we are facing are precisely the proposition put forward by MP Hartwich. 'Let us in power, and then we'll figure out who we are' – that's how you can describe Civic Platform. But we know who they are, and we know what their policy threatens, because it was the policy of Merkel and Tusk that led to this enormous security crisis in the European Union. The fact that such a security crisis does not exist in Poland is thanks only to the Law and Justice camp taking the reins of the country in 2015 and us introducing a completely different policy – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a media statement.

- Today, we have two most important tenets. The first is to prevent illegal immigration, as we have managed to do so far, and the second is to prevent those who want illegal immigration in Poland from coming to power – he added.

13:14

Czarzasty to PiS: You held a referendum so that 2,000 refugees wouldn't come to Poland, while at the same time you issued hundreds of thousands of visas without checking anyone.

- The second absurdity, which however doesn't come from the heavens but from you, is that you called a referendum. You called this referendum so that 2,000 refugees and migrants wouldn't come to Poland. It's true that the EU and the European Commission clearly told you that due to the number of Ukrainians we accepted, Poland would not be affected. It's true that at the same time you issued hundreds of thousands of visas without checking these people at all, but you tried to sell us a lie that a referendum was necessary for the 38-million-strong nation concerning the acceptance of 2,000 people from abroad – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference.

- It turned out that during this time, legislation was being drafted that was supposed to protect us from COVID. Many people believed in it, but today it has become apparent that under this law, a provision was introduced stating that more emigrants could be admitted to Poland. It truly sounds as if you, regarding PiS, knew what you wanted to do, what you wanted to steal, and what legal instruments needed to be created for each thief to get their fill – he added.

13:14

Czarzasty to Ziobro: If you don't report yourself today for knowing about a crime and not reporting it for 8 years, I will report you tomorrow as Deputy Marshal of the Sejm

- Minister Ziobro, the Prosecutor General, knew about all of this. The Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General tells us that he observed everything that was happening with these visas during the rule of Civic Platform and PSL for eight years. For eight years, he knew that there were swindles, for eight years he had knowledge of how it all looked. Mr. Minister, Mr. Prosecutor General, if you do not report yourself today for knowing about a crime and not reporting it to the prosecution subordinate to you for 8 years, then I will report you tomorrow as Deputy Marshal of the Sejm – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference.

13:15

Czarzasty:

I Appeal to the Democratic Opposition - The Entire Opposition, All Voters Expect Us to Stand on One Stage on October 1st

- I appeal to the democratic opposition, I appeal to Szymon Hołownia, to Kosiniak-Kamysz, to Donald Tusk. The entire opposition, all voters expect us to give a clear signal that we will co-govern after the elections. The entire opposition, all voters expect us to stand on one stage on October 1st, like brother with brother, like sister with sister, and say we want to take responsibility for Poland and for Poland's future (...) People want to see us in one place, shaking hands – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference.

13:27

Ziobro on the Visa Case: "The Investigation is Being Conducted Exceptionally Intensively, and It Was My Decision"
- This investigation [into visas] is being conducted exceptionally intensively. Soon, I will present to you similar investigations that were conducted during Donald Tusk's government, and you will see the difference [...]. The investigation has been conducted exceptionally intensively; it has been moved to the highest level of the prosecutor's office. If it had gone to a district prosecutor's office, a prosecutor there often has to handle, especially in Warsaw [...] sometimes several hundred cases. Instead, it went to a prosecutor's office that is least burdened, to a prosecutor who does not have several hundred cases to handle, but only a few cases to handle - said Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference. - We wanted to immediately eliminate the irregularities after they were detected by the CBA [...]. My opponents from Civic Platform [...] are telling fairy tales, claiming that I am allegedly hindering this investigation, that it is not being conducted intensively due to my decisions, and that there are perhaps 300,000 people who allegedly acquired visas in this way. Both of these claims are lies. This investigation is, in fact, being conducted exceptionally intensively, and it was my decision - he continued. - The facts are that the United Right government shows that pathologies always happen, in various situations. There are no saints, but we act very decisively so that this space of irregularities does not expand to thousands or hundreds of thousands - he added.

13:29

Obajtek:

We have signed credit agreements to finance the Baltic Power project, the first offshore wind farm in Polish Baltic waters
We have signed credit agreements to finance the Baltic Power project, the first offshore wind farm that will be built in Polish Baltic waters. The agreement concluded with a consortium of 25 Polish and international financial institutions is one of the key elements of the investment preparation process. We are working according to the schedule, so that by 2026 the farm will be supplying clean energy to 1.5 million households - informed the CEO of Orlen, Daniel Obajtek.

13:36

Trzaskowski's Offensive on the Campaign Trail

Rafał Trzaskowski is returning to the campaign trail – the Mayor of Warsaw will meet with the residents of Zduńska Wola tomorrow at 5:00 PM, and on Friday he will visit Szczecin, where a rally will be held at 5:00 PM. Subsequently, another open meeting will take place in Szamotuły on Saturday at 1:00 PM, and on the same day at 10:00 AM – in a smaller format – a meeting in Wałcz. Furthermore, another open meeting is planned for Monday at 5:00 PM in Otwock.

In previous days, the Vice-Chairman of Civic Coalition visited Radom, Siedlce, and Lublin. It can be assumed that Trzaskowski's more intensive involvement in the campaign of the largest opposition party will intensify the discussion about a possible change of candidate for Prime Minister.

Sasin on Petru's Words: He's Fallen into a Frenzy of Sell-offs

- Ryszard Petru in his full glory. He has fallen into a frenzy of sell-offs. He wants to privatize everything he can get his hands on – Pekao SA, PKO BP, Orlen, and probably all other key Polish companies. Let's stop this madness! – Jacek Sasin wrote on Twitter.

Ziobro:

I warned Tusk not to carelessly mention a major visa and corruption scandal, as he might get caught red-handed. And I'm keeping my word.

- I warned Donald Tusk not to carelessly throw around words about a major visa and corruption scandal, because it could end up with him getting caught red-handed. And I'm keeping my word. I am meeting with you today to show that actual corruption scandals related to the process of illegally granting visas and enabling entry into the Schengen zone, not just to Poland, took place precisely during Donald Tusk's government. Today's widely publicized case is proof of the very effective and decisive action of Polish law enforcement agencies, the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA), and the prosecution service, which allowed us to extinguish this matter in its infancy and bring the perpetrators to criminal accountability before the court - stated Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference.

- We are convinced that this case is a model example of how a well-functioning state should uncover pathologies and quickly eliminate them. A completely different picture emerges from the corruption cases related to visa issuance during the government of Donald Tusk and Mr. Sikorski, when serious irregularities, and even behaviors of a corrupt nature, were revealed in the area of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' operations, specifically in the units responsible for issuing visas. However, instead of clarifying the matters and eliminating pathologies, they pretended to oversee the activities. What's worse, law enforcement agencies, through the actions of the prosecution service, acted similarly. The criminal proceedings that were conducted in this matter, among others by the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, will be discussed shortly by the prosecutor - he continued.

Prosecutor's Office: Investigation into corruption at consulates in Lviv and Lutsk was prematurely terminated. It has been reopened today.
- I would like to share the results of an analysis conducted at the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, concerning an unjustly discontinued investigation from 2008-2009 into corrupt practices at the consulates in Lviv and Lutsk. [...] To illustrate the nature of the practices involved, I will quote the testimony of an officer from the Government Protection Bureau: "Regarding the consul, it was evident how his standard of living significantly improved in a short period. He arrived at the post with an old, dilapidated car, speaking of a mortgage, but after just 3-4 months, he purchased a new Mitsubishi and a new Opel for his wife, with no mention of any loans. After six months, he wanted to sell the Mitsubishi and exchange it for a Lexus RX300." - stated Prosecutor Wojciech Smoleń at a press conference. - The investigation was initiated in November 2009 and, after a year and a half of proceedings, was concluded in May 2011. Importantly, as early as 2011, the investigation files were examined by the then Prosecutor General's Office, and numerous irregularities were already pointed out, including a very clear indication that the corruption aspect had not been properly addressed. [...] Individuals interrogated in the case unequivocally indicated that such blatant practices should not have occurred in Polish diplomatic missions. [...] The investigation has been reopened today; we now have a concrete action plan and identified individuals for interrogation - he continued. - I would like to quote the testimony of a BOR officer regarding the description of gift and bribe-giving: "Mr. L. very frequently brought and submitted a large number of visa applications. I observed Mr. L. entering meetings with the consul carrying a large, bulging bag, and leaving with an empty one. When I checked the bags, I saw they contained cognacs and other alcohol, as well as chocolates." [...] It wasn't just the consuls who benefited from these practices; in further testimony, I will quote: "Once I saw a Ukrainian citizen slip him some money into his pocket. We surmised that there were many such situations where he was taking bribes for expediting visa stickers and visas." - he continued. - This investigation was concluded prematurely. [...] From my perspective, I can say that as of today, we have a ready action plan and I believe that in the coming days, we will proceed very aggressively to resolve this matter - he added.

We Obtained a Ministry of Foreign Affairs Letter Signed by Sikorski. It Indicates He Knew About Information Pointing to Irregularities

- We have obtained a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed by Minister Sikorski. It indicates that Sikorski had knowledge of information pointing to irregularities, to a possible corrupt background of consular services' actions related to visa issuance. The proceedings will concern individuals at the highest level – stated Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference.

Duda:

The World Today Needs Bold and Visionary Leaders Again. Such a Leader Was the Late President Lech Kaczyński

- The world today needs bold and visionary leaders again! Such a leader was the late President of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, with whom I had the honor of working. A leader who, already over a decade ago, tried to awaken consciences, appeal to politicians, and warn against the imperial policy of Vladimir Putin's Russia - stated President Andrzej Duda during the General Debate of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

- I will recall his extremely important words spoken in Tbilisi during the Russian aggression against Georgia in 2008. For the first time in a long time, Russians showed the face we have known for hundreds of years. They believe that the nations around them should be subordinate to them. We say no! Russia believes that the times of the empire, which collapsed less than 20 years ago, are returning. That dominance will again be a feature of this region. Well, it will not. Those times have ended once and for all! - continued PAD.

- Yes. Today, right here, at the United Nations headquarters, I want to repeat this: those times must never return! The logic of conquest, of changing borders by force, of disregarding the law, and of denying the Ukrainian nation the right to exist must be stopped! This brutal war must end, not be frozen! This can only be achieved by restoring Ukraine's full territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders! - he added.

17:38

Duda:

We Must Fight Manipulation and Disinformation. We Must Fight the Distortion of History
An information war is ongoing. Lies are being used to cover up and justify Russian crimes against the civilian population. Russia is constantly trying to influence international public opinion by constructing a false picture of reality. This comes as no surprise to us in Poland, but the world is only now discovering the scale of Russian manipulation and disinformation - stated President Andrzej Duda during the General Debate of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. - Its edge is often also directed at my country. Attempts are made to slander Poland in various ways. This is happening because we consistently oppose Russia's imperial and neo-colonial policy and have supported Ukraine, which is defending itself, from the very beginning - PAD continued. - As the international community, we must draw conclusions from this. We must fight manipulation and disinformation. We must fight the distortion of history. The inversion of the roles of perpetrator and victim! Evil must be called evil, and crime must be called crime! - he emphasized.

17:40

Duda:

For Over 100 Years, the United States Has Played a Key Role in Ensuring Security in Europe
Today, many countries are often accused of contributing to the prolongation of the war by supplying necessary armaments to the defending Ukraine. This is completely false logic. It's like accusing a neighbor of trying to help people who are defending their home against an attack by bandits. If someone attacks your home, you have the right to defend yourself, and your neighbors should not be indifferent. Ukraine would not be able to resist aggression and effectively defend its independence without the help of other countries. To the greatest extent, this includes the United States - stated President Andrzej Duda during the general debate of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

For over 100 years, the United States has played a key role in ensuring security in Europe. I say this as the president of a European country so often experienced by the tragedy of war. It must be remembered that it was the United States' participation in World War I that led to its end and the regaining of independence by Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries. The United States played a decisive role in defeating Nazi Germany. Without support from the USA, neither Great Britain nor the Soviet Union would have been able to resist Hitler. Finally, the United States played a crucial role in rebuilding Western Europe after the war and defending it against the threat from the Soviet Union throughout the entire period of the 'Cold War' - he continued.

17:40

Duda:

Europe Too Often Forgets It Owes its Security and Prosperity to the United States' Presence and Commitment

- Europe too often forgets that it owes its security and prosperity to the presence and commitment of the United States. We in Poland remember this perfectly! Therefore, the most important priority of the Polish presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2025 will be to deepen transatlantic relations, cooperation between the EU and the United States – stated President Andrzej Duda during the general debate of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

18:04

Duda:

We Support the Idea of Establishing a Special Ad Hoc Tribunal. Crimes Must Be Accounted For, Perpetrators Punished
Poland's stance in the face of any war is clear and unambiguous. We demand absolute respect for internationally recognized state borders. The inviolability of these borders is a fundamental element of the world order. Today, Ukraine is the victim. Tomorrow, any one of us could be, if we do not adhere to these iron rules, if we do not absolutely enforce the observance of international law – stated President Andrzej Duda during the general debate of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. - Forgotten and unpunished war crimes, crimes against humanity, foster a sense of impunity among perpetrators. They create tacit approval for their successors and imitators, who, following their example, commit similar crimes when they wish to dominate and decide the fate of other states and nations. The evidence of this is precisely the crimes that are taking place during the war in Ukraine – he continued. - Therefore, we are engaged in initiatives aimed at holding Russia accountable for gross violations of fundamental norms of international law. We strongly support the work of the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice. We support the work of the Independent International Commission operating under the UN Human Rights Council, tasked with investigating violations of human rights and humanitarian law in the context of Russian aggression, as well as collecting, verifying, and preserving evidence. We support the idea of establishing a special ad hoc tribunal! Crimes must be accounted for, and perpetrators punished – added PAD.

Morawiecki:

They have no right to force us into anything, and they won't force us. Even if Tusk, Merkel, von der Leyen, Weber, and whoever else they bring to help are involved.

- They want to let everyone in, let them let them in, it's their affair, their sovereign state. But they have no right to force us into anything, and they won't force us. Even if Tusk, Merkel, von der Leyen, Weber, and whoever else they bring to help are involved. We will not agree to this because we are a sovereign state - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:32

Morawiecki:

There is only one guarantee that illegal immigration will not be allowed into Poland, and that guarantee is the PiS government
Internal security, which is directly linked to ensuring the security of our borders and preventing illegal immigration. There is only one guarantee that illegal immigration will not be allowed into Poland, that guarantee, that stronghold is the PiS government. We have shown this once before, because such a situation occurred - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:37

Morawiecki:

Tusk Has Never Spoken a True Word in His Life. Well, Maybe Once, When He Gave His Bank Account Number in Brussels

- He will dodge and weave in every possible way. My dear friends, Tusk has never spoken a true word in his life. Well, maybe once, when he gave his bank account number in Brussels for people to transfer money to him - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:38

Morawiecki:

After Our Question, the French are Now Talking About a Referendum, Macron is Talking About a Referendum Because He Was Forced To

- Tusk is taking orders from Berlin and Brussels here. What will happen when other European nations, like the Poles, desire to express themselves through a referendum? After our question about a referendum, the French are now talking about a referendum, Macron is talking about a referendum because he was forced to, speaking our language. Or perhaps the Germans would like to express themselves on the issue of illegal immigration? - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:39

Morawiecki:

250 visas - they try to say it's 250 thousand. They are wrong 1000 times, they lie 1000 times

- Now these irregularities regarding visas, 250 visas. They try to say it's 250 thousand. They are wrong 1000 times, they lie 1000 times, if they say so, but they shamelessly defend it because they've grasped at this razor. But even the razor can't help them. As we know perfectly well, it ends badly when someone clutches at a razor, and we tell Poles and we ask them: do not be deceived by these dyed-in-the-wool foxes, they are afraid of the referendum on illegal immigration - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:42

Tusk:

Police Detain MP Informing Otwock Residents About 250,000 Migrants Admitted by PiS

- Police are detaining MP Kinga Gajewska, who was informing Otwock residents about 250,000 migrants admitted by PiS - Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter.

18:44

Morawiecki:

"Wyborcza" is the Tribune of the People's Party

- And how "Gazeta Wyborcza" wrote that old people would freeze to death and this would lead to the fall of PiS. That's what the newspaper wrote, which is the Tribune of the People's Party. It's their tribune, their mouthpiece - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:46

Morawiecki:

Can you imagine greater stupidity, vileness, and shame than not defending Polish borders? Mr. Tusk, Mr. Klich, fall through the earth!

- The Civic Platform has brought us to such a fate that in their war and defense doctrine, they retreated to the Vistula line. The entire swathe of the country was to be left to the soldiers, and as far as I know, Otwock is on the eastern side of the Vistula, meaning part of Warsaw would have been left to the mercy of Russian soldiers. This is the Civic Platform's doctrine: defend yourselves on the Vistula line. How could such a threat have been allowed to arise, how could military units have been liquidated? Can you imagine greater stupidity, greater vileness, greater shame than not defending Polish borders? And that was what the military doctrine from the Civic Platform's era entailed. Mr. Tusk, Mr. Klich, fall through the earth - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:48

Morawiecki:

Tusk Has Not Apologized for His Sins and Crimes, Such as Handing Over the Smolensk Investigation to the Russians

- He [Donald Tusk] has not apologized for his greatest transgressions, mistakes, sins, and effectively for the greatest crimes as well, his own he has not apologized for, and there were such, like handing over the Smolensk investigation to the Russians. Those Russians, who are doing Bucha, Borodianka, and Irpin. Those very same Russians - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Otwock.

18:54

Duda:

Meeting with Zelensky Fell Off the Agenda Today
- Our meeting [with Volodymyr Zelensky] did not happen today because the deliberations [...], the schedule of deliberations, expanded significantly. The meeting was supposed to be at 11:30 AM, which was precisely during my speech [at the UN General Assembly] [...]. Everyone here has a very tightly scheduled daily program, and perhaps this meeting could take place later. For now, as we say, it has simply fallen off the agenda due to the shift in the so-called 'hourly slots' - said President Andrzej Duda at a press briefing in New York.

19:15

Duda on Complaint Against Poland to WTO: It would be good for Ukraine to remember that it receives help from us and we are a transit country
- First and foremost, let's clarify one thing. Poland has not closed its borders to Ukrainian grain - President Andrzej Duda said at a press briefing in New York. - We want to help Ukraine, we have been helping Ukraine all the time, for a very long time, we are doing it very selflessly. We want to continue to help as much as we can, as much as we are able to. We have created transport corridors that are constantly operating, 260 thousand tons of grain is twice as much as was transported, transited through Poland before. Currently, in the near future, there will be an agreement between Poland and Lithuania to further shorten procedures and for everything to also take place at the port of Klaipeda - he continued. - I understand that there are business circles that have their interests in Ukraine, who would like to sell grain as quickly as possible at the lowest possible cost. We must defend ourselves against this, it is our obvious duty. There is a conflict of interests here, to be honest - he admitted. - If Ukraine actually files a complaint against us to the tribunal [World Trade Organization - WTO], we will explain this situation before the tribunal. It is then a legal dispute. We will act on that basis. However, it would be good for Ukraine to remember that it receives help from us and to remember that we are also a transit country to Ukraine - he emphasized.

Police:

Officers Unaware They Were Dealing with an MP; Legitimization Stopped Immediately Upon Showing MP's ID

- Officers intervening in Otwock were unaware they were dealing with an MP when dealing with one of the individuals. Legitimization was ceased immediately after the MP's ID was presented - stated on the official Twitter profile of the Warsaw Police Headquarters.

19:44

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Assaulting an MP for Criticizing the Government Mirrors Lukashenko's Belarus

- The involvement of state institutions in the election campaign on the side of PiS has long crossed all boundaries of decency. However, assaulting an MP for expressing criticism towards the authorities, these are standards from Lukashenko's country. Come to your senses! - wrote Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Twitter.

19:59

Tusk to PiS Voters: This is Not the Same PiS You Voted For
- I want to tell you, those who can't decide whether to go to the polls, those who are disappointed with PiS but once voted for PiS. This is not the same PiS you voted for. They have distorted everything, they have sold everything off - said Donald Tusk in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:03

Tusk:

PiS is Losing Wherever Truth Resides
- I would very much ask everyone to recall precisely the times when I was Prime Minister, how public media behaved back then. I was criticized there in such a sharp and decisive manner, and it never occurred to me to intervene in public media because of it, or to try to impose any kind of rigor - Donald Tusk said on Polsat News. - On social media, there is full pluralism of information, everyone can truly reach the real source of information, and that's where PiS is losing. PiS is losing everywhere where the truth is - he continued.

20:13

Tusk:

Months Ago, the Minister of Agriculture Promised to Publish a List of Companies Profiting from Ukrainian Grain. They Still Refuse to Publish It.
- PiS is very efficient when it comes to making money for themselves. Grain was allowed into Poland. Do you remember how many months ago the Minister of Agriculture promised to publish a list of those companies that profited from cheap Ukrainian grain? They still refuse to publish it - said Donald Tusk on Polsat News. - This negligence, which costs us, or rather Polish farmers and the Polish countryside, so much stress, health, and money, stems from the fact that trains with Ukrainian grain were supposed to reach the ports through prepared infrastructure, especially the port of Gdańsk. [...] A grain terminal, in fact more than one, and well-prepared railway infrastructure would be needed not only because of Ukrainian grain, which could thus reach countries other than Poland, but it is also needed for Polish farmers. So, this project needs to be returned to as soon as possible - he continued.

20:17

Kierwiński Responds to Police: "Really, Don't Embarrass Yourselves Further"

- Really, don't embarrass yourselves further. It would be better to tell us the name of that Militia officer who said, 'Please don't wave things at me here.' He should be fired today. And his superiors should resign. With that extremely compromised grenade launcher at the helm - Marcin Kierwiński wrote on Twitter, responding to a police tweet.

20:23

Tusk:

PiS Earned Big Money Smuggling Hundreds of Thousands of People
- Italians have a problem in Italy. We don't have a problem in Italy, we have a problem: 250,000 migrants from African and Asian countries have been admitted here in Poland. Not 10,000 like on Lampedusa, but 250,000, often for money and bribes. When I announced publicly, I raised the alarm that we have a very serious problem with what PiS is doing and with this migration. I revealed a document showing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was preparing infrastructure to accept 2 million in the coming years. They were hiring people, building institutions, Poland was to become an absolute record holder, and has de facto become a record holder when it comes to the influx of migrants, including from Africa and Asia – Donald Tusk said on Polsat News. - We have a problem today with a government that can propagandistically exploit the issue of migrants, one could say they did it effectively for years, and at the same time, PiS, people from PiS, earned big money by smuggling hundreds of thousands of people. This is also a concern for some NATO services, including the United States. Americans were the first to raise the alarm in this matter, regarding an unexpectedly large number of migrants who used Polish visas. I have this knowledge, of how concerned the services of some NATO countries are, because no one is controlling the terrorist threat - he added.

20:23

Tusk:

The Coming Days and Weeks Will Be Full of Further Sensational Revelations

- The coming days and weeks will be full of further sensational revelations regarding who profits from this, who profits from the deforestation of Polish forests for China, who profits from Ukrainian grain, who profits from migrants and visas. I just want to say that in all these situations, PiS and its people are making this money, while the Polish farmer, the resident of a Polish village or city who loves their forests, and all citizens due to the loss of security, are paying for it – said Donald Tusk on Polsat News.

20:25

Tusk:

Everyone is invited to the march
- This is a march of a million people, so it's not a party matter at all. Just like I invited people to Warsaw then. Everyone is invited to the march, all citizens - said Donald Tusk in Polsat News. - I think that people from Lewica and people from Trzecia Droga will be with us on the streets of Warsaw, as we already know from their declarations - he added.

20:29

Tusk on Konfederacja: They Hold Very "Interesting" Views on Many Issues
- When it comes to Konfederacja, they hold very "interesting" views on many matters. By "interesting," I mean, I understand how very controversial Konfederacja's views are on many issues. Regarding economic matters, they seem superficially market-oriented. I must say that the postulate of abolishing ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) seems slightly infantile - said Donald Tusk on Polsat News.

20:37

Tusk:

We'll Announce How Governing in Poland Will Look the Day After the Elections
- There is no better tandem, no better duo in Polish politics today than Rafał Trzaskowski, the most popular politician in Poland. I say this with conviction: if the elections had been truly fair, if all the rules had been followed, Rafał Trzaskowski would be president today. He is our great asset, we are truly like a great fist, we are prepared for all possible scenarios, but we will announce how governing in Poland will look the day after the elections. For now, I invite everyone to Warsaw and everyone to vote - said Donald Tusk in Polsat News.

20:44

Tusk on the Government: They Are Solely Focused on Attacking the Opposition and Electioneering. That's the Problem, Not My Three Meetings with Trzaskowski
- I had three meetings with Rafał Trzaskowski over two years, together. He doesn't travel the country with me, he's busy with Warsaw. That's a question for Morawiecki, who is the Prime Minister of the Polish government and who is absent from his place of work every day. For two years, I've observed the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Defence, the Minister of Interior, they have all been doing nothing but electioneering from morning till night. They are responsible for a great, proud country, for 40 million Polish women and men, and they are solely focused on attacking the opposition and electioneering. That's the problem, not my three meetings with Rafał Trzaskowski - Donald Tusk said on Polsat News.

20:51

Tusk:

I Am Here to Drive Out This Evil
- Today I am here to win the elections. I know this spin from PiS that Tusk will definitely go to Brussels. I have returned here, I didn't have to return to Polish politics, and everyone knows it. I did this also against the understandable hope of my closest ones, who know what price they paid and what price they will pay for my return to politics. I am here to drive out this evil. I am here so that people can breathe freely again, so that Poland can be normal - said Donald Tusk in Polsat News.
