The agreement was signed by EBI Vice-President, Prof. Teresa Czerwińska, and the President of the Management Board of BOŚ, Wojciech Hann, during the Impact ‘21 conference held in Poznań.

"Energy efficiency, and in particular the diversification of energy sources, are crucial for companies that, in this difficult post-lockdown period, want to grow and want to do so in a responsible and pro-climate manner. We are pleased to be signing this agreement on the occasion of the Impact’21 conference, where we are discussing sustainable solutions for the Polish economy," said Teresa Czerwińska.

"Small and medium-sized enterprises, generating approximately 50% of Polish GDP and employing almost 7 million people, constitute the most important link in our economy. In the face of the rapidly approaching challenges associated with the energy transformation, they will need appropriate support in achieving ambitious climate goals, while also ensuring their competitiveness. The loan granted to BOŚ by the EIB will allow our bank to finance investments that reconcile these interests. This is an example of a model green financial product that benefits all stakeholders and the natural environment," said Wojciech Hann, President of the Management Board of Bank Ochrony Środowiska.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is a long-term lending institution of the European Union, whose shareholders are the Member States. The Bank provides long-term financial support contributing to the achievement of EU policy objectives. The Bank finances projects in the areas of infrastructure, innovation, environment, and SMEs. In 2020, the EIB Group allocated EUR 5.2 billion to finance projects in Poland.

Bank Ochrony Środowiska (BOŚ) has been present on the financial market since 1991. It specializes in financing environmental protection projects.
