Impact’21 Personalities: Ann Rosenberg – Innovator and Leader in Her Field
The world we live in desperately needs more sustainable and ecological infrastructure, practically yesterday. We already know that we operate within a finite resource economy, yet we still desire growth. For this to be possible, without harming the environment and climate, we require very robust knowledge and the promotion of innovative solutions. It is precisely the popularization and implementation of know-how in creating green infrastructure that Ann Rosenberg, an expert in public policy and sustainable development, focuses on. This world-class specialist advises, among others, the World Economic Forum and collaborates with the United Nations. As part of the UN Global Compact initiative, she mentors young innovators who aim to counteract climate change. And in October, she will be a guest on the autumn stage of Impact’21 in Poznań. Ann Rosenberg hails from Denmark and resides in Los Angeles, but she considers herself a global citizen. Therefore, she must excel in her role as Vice President of Sustainable Development at Wood plc, a company operating in over 60 countries. This firm, employing over 40,000 people, has been a specialist in consulting and engineering for infrastructure projects for 160 years. Responding to contemporary challenges, Wood Plc now advises other companies on how to leverage technology and digital solutions, make their projects more sustainable, and undertake energy transition. In the Polish market, they provide consultation on projects related to renewable energy sources. 25 Years of Experience in Leading Sustainable Development Ann Rosenberg boasts several remarkable achievements. She initiated the SDG Ambition initiative at the World Economic Forum in Davos. This project serves as both a challenge and a support for companies that wish to pursue climate goals more methodically and align with ESG frameworks. The first and most crucial task within the initiative is for enterprises to undertake actions that contribute to mitigating climate change. This includes accounting for carbon emissions throughout the company's production chain, documenting emissions, and precisely calculating their carbon footprint. Recently, Ann Rosenberg also launched SAP Purpose Network Live. This project aimed to connect a community of individuals committed to solving problems exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Collaboration with Industry Leaders Ann Rosenberg joined Wood plc in January 2021. The sustainable development specialist is set to support the company in creating more ecological solutions for the industry. The knowledge Ann Rosenberg possesses will help the company provide the best solutions for clients aiming to implement an ESG strategy. Her vision will “accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future,” believes Joe Sczurko, Executive Director of Wood’s Consulting Business. Ann Rosenberg herself comments on her new role: “Wood plc is a company committed to making a positive impact on the environment and society. That’s why I am very pleased to join the team. We are creating solutions that can help overcome barriers in the speed and scale of achieving sustainable development goals. I am truly excited about the opportunity to help companies redefine and rethink how they operate to mitigate the effects of climate change, while simultaneously responding to the growing demand for sustainable energy and infrastructure.” One of the occasions where Ann Rosenberg will be able to share her expertise on preventing climate change through appropriate development strategies is the autumn conference Impact’21. During this event, a platform for exchanging ideas and solutions on significant contemporary issues, the specialist from Wood plc will participate, among other activities, in a moderated discussion titled “How to Change the Economy in a World of Shrinking Resources and Growing Waste?”. We invite you to Impact’21 on October 27 and 28 in Poznań!
