I Invite the Opposition to a Meeting
- From the coherence of our actions, good cooperation, from whether we are one team, we, all Poles, including the opposition. I invite the opposition today, at the beginning of the week, to a meeting. Several such meetings have taken place, which were certainly good, in the spring of this year. And today I also invite the opposition in order to discuss, if anyone has any ideas, doubts, we want to be one team. Today, the whole of Poland must be focused on combating and stabilizing this wave of coronavirus as quickly as possible and truly taking care of our healthcare system in the best possible state, because it is necessary for treating and protecting the lives of our citizens and above all for protecting the elderly and, of course, all other citizens - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

We are Striving to Stabilize the Situation

- "We are striving to stabilize the situation, we are striving for the growth rate of infections to be decreasing" - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- "Today, worldwide, the number of infections is around 350,000 people. This is a number that should, in a sense, be compared to what is happening in Europe, in individual European countries, and in particular what is happening in Poland. We are dealing with a situation where there is a record number of cases in all European countries, and this situation is also dynamic. Our strategic goals for the coming weeks are, firstly, to limit the number of deaths as much as possible and to ensure the safety of those most vulnerable in Polish society to losing their health and life, namely our seniors. Secondly, it is to ensure the capacity of the healthcare system, and what we promised, we want to present what has already been achieved and what we plan for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. And our third strategic goal for the coming weeks and months is to maintain the economy under a sanitary regime as much as possible, but at normal operational speeds, so that where possible, the economy functions normally. Those sectors that, unfortunately, are most associated with human contact, will have restrictions, just as they have had in recent months, and will continue to have them in the coming months, but we want other industrial plants, companies, businesses, retail and service enterprises to be able to function, meaning we are striving for our strategy not to lead to an economic lockdown" - he continued.

Prime Minister Morawiecki: No Necessity for Mandatory Remote Learning Seen for Now

- We are discussing the education system very intensively, and it must be emphasized that as of today, 98% of schools are functioning in a stationary (in-person) mode, and only a small percentage of schools are operating either remotely or in a hybrid mode. The strategy proposed by the Ministry of Education in August is currently passing the test, a test in this very difficult period. Therefore, for today, we do not see such a necessity to introduce mandatory remote learning - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).
