Müller:

If Restrictions Are Adhered To, There's a Chance to Slow the Disease in the Coming Weeks. We Don't Want a Second Lockdown

- I think that what the coronavirus has taught us in recent months is, above all, that not everything can be predicted. We are learning more and more about this disease, and the whole world is gaining more knowledge thanks to the scientific research conducted in recent months. However, to a large extent, what you are asking about depends on social behavior. Therefore, if the restrictions that we are currently introducing are adhered to, there is a chance to slow down the disease's progression in the coming weeks. On the other hand, let's remember that we do not want to introduce a second lockdown, we do not want to restrict the economy as much as it was in March or April, because we also want society and the economy to function in parallel – said Piotr Müller in an interview with Grzegorz Jankowski on "Sygnały dnia" on Polish Radio's Jedynka.

07:35

Müller:

We are analyzing whether to introduce limits concerning various spaces

- As the Prime Minister announced, we are considering various restrictions in different areas. It's not just about schools, but in such a way that it doesn't hit the economy hard at the same time. Meaning, restrictions that have the character of limiting the spread of the epidemic, but on the other hand, do not hit the economy as hard as it was in March or April - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Jedynka radio.

- We are analyzing whether to introduce these limits concerning various spaces, so that the gathering of large numbers of people does not actually take place. However, as I say, we first want to see what the situation looks like after the introduction of these restrictions - he added.

Fogiel Asked About Introducing State of Natural Disaster: 'For Now, We Are Not Considering Such Matters at All. We Are Acting Based on the Epidemic Prevention and Control Act.'

- For now, we are not considering such matters at all [regarding the introduction of a state of natural disaster]. We are acting based on the Act on Prevention and Combating Epidemics. Based on this act, the Minister of Health or the Council of Ministers issue regulations. Similar to the regulation that will be in effect from tomorrow, which covers the entire country as a so-called yellow zone, and these are sufficient legal grounds - stated Radosław Fogiel in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on 'Trójka Salon Polityczny' (Political Salon of Trójka).

09:13

Fogiel:

Zembala's Appeal Yesterday to Not Politicize the Pandemic is Something I Can Only Endorse
The pandemic is not an individual matter, it's not a matter for one party or another. It's ultimately not a matter for the voters of one party or another. It concerns all of us, and it should be in all our interests to overcome this threat as quickly as possible, and at the same time, it should be in all our interests not to harm others. And here I can only repeat the appeal. Yesterday I heard an appeal from Professor Zembala, a former Minister of Health from the PO governments, so an individual who cannot be accused of PiS inclinations and someone quite credible to our political competitors, who appealed for precisely the same thing: not to make the pandemic a political issue, to recognize it as a supra-political, nationwide matter. I can only sign under this appeal – stated Radosław Fogiel in a conversation with Beata Michniewicz in "Trójka Political Salon."

09:16

Fogiel:

A Significant Portion of the Opposition, Particularly Under the Civic Coalition Banner, Exploits the Pandemic Solely to Attack the Government. I Understand the Opposition's Role is Criticism and I'm Not Offended by It, but This Political Exploitati
- First and foremost, it must be free from all sides. We are willing to talk and cooperate, but so far, unfortunately, and I say this with regret, a large part of the opposition, especially that under the Civic Coalition banner, is using the pandemic – and I say 'using' with full awareness – solely to attack the government. I understand that the role of the opposition is criticism and I am not offended by it, but this kind of political exploitation of the pandemic is inappropriate – stated Radosław Fogiel in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon".

09:21

Fogiel:

PiS Congress Currently Scheduled for Early November, But We Will React Based on Developments

- Preparations for the congress are currently underway, technical, I would say, and documentation, as well as district conventions that elect delegates. The conventions were conducted in such a way as to not put anyone at risk. It is currently scheduled for early November, but of course, we will react depending on the development of the situation - stated Radosław Fogiel in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka Political Salon".

09:26

Fogiel:

We Uphold the Will to Divide Mazovia Because It's a Decision Highly Anticipated by Most Residents of the Voivodeship

- We uphold the will to divide Mazovia because it is a decision that is highly anticipated by the majority of the residents of this voivodeship. This will unlock development opportunities for many areas that have not had them until now - stated Radosław Fogiel in a conversation with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka Political Salon".

- A statistical division, yes, it's a step, but it's insufficient. We are talking here about separate administrative entities. This is linked to regional operational programs, whether there will be 16 or 17 of them, or if a new voivodeship could be covered, for example, like Świętokrzyskie, by the Eastern Poland program - he continued.

- We absolutely uphold this decision. In my opinion, it will not be linked to the necessity of elections for regional assemblies throughout Poland. There will only be elections, if at all, within the territory of today's Mazovian voivodeship - emphasized the Deputy Spokesperson for PiS.

Gowin:

The Epidemic Will Intensify in the Coming Days, Weeks, and Months, But We Used the Last Six Months to Prepare the Polish State and Healthcare System

"No one, absolutely no one, will be left without help by the Polish government. We are aware that the entire world, and with it Poland, is facing a very dangerous epidemic. We are aware that the epidemic will intensify in the coming days, weeks, and months, but we used the last six months to prepare the Polish state and healthcare system for this" - said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin on "Kwadrans polityczny" on TVP1.

09:43

Gowin:

Another Lockdown is Out of the Question. Threatening the Economy Again Would Deprive Us of Funds Necessary for Healthcare. The Government is Implementing a Well-Thought-Out Strategy to Stay One Step Ahead of the Virus

"Another lockdown is out of the question. It's not just about the economy's condition. It's also about the fact that threatening the economy again would deprive us of funds, resources necessary for the functioning of healthcare, not to mention other state tasks, such as ensuring security. The government is implementing a very well-thought-out strategy to stay one step ahead of the virus," said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin on TVP1.

Karczewski on Czarnik's Hospital Visit: 'If it's a difficult situation, a patient is dying, and the family wants to say goodbye, it is human and humane for people to enter the hospital. No existing rules were violated there.'

- There was a difficult situation, he visited his grandmother, absolutely adhering to all sanitary regime rules. I imagine he was wearing a mask, did not contact other people. He went in and came out - said Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).

- If there is a situation, I work shifts myself, if there is a difficult situation, a patient is dying, and the family wants to say goodbye, then of course it is human and humane for people to enter the hospital. A wife enters, a father. Situations vary. I also heard information conveyed by the spokesperson of the hospital where the grandmother of the minister-to-be, the former voivode, the current MP, was located, and I know that they do not connect this outbreak with the MP's visit - he added.

- I believe that no existing rules were violated there, there was consent, etc. - he continued.

Karczewski:

Why Such Agitation? Tusk Criticizes Morawiecki and Duda for Celebrating Athletes' Successes, Then Mentions 3,000 Deaths. Every Death is a Tragedy, But No One Can Guarantee Immortality for Poles.
I read a tweet from Mr. Donald Tusk yesterday. Why such a tweet? Why such agitation? Why such insults? Mr. Donald Tusk criticizes the fact that Prime Minister Morawiecki and President Andrzej Duda are celebrating the successes of Polish athletes; well, surely we all celebrate. And then he talks about the fact that 3,000 people have died. Well, every death is a tragedy, every death is a tragedy for the family, for the loved ones, I understand that, but surely no one can guarantee immortality for Poles - said Stanisław Karczewski on Radio Plus.

Karczewski on the Vote on the Animal Protection Act in the Senate: PiS Senators Are Club Members and the Same Rules and Consequences Apply to Us as to MPs
After all, the Law and Justice senators are members of the PiS club and the same rules apply to us as to MPs – said Stanisław Karczewski on Radio Plus. And the same consequences? – asked Jacek Prusinowski. Yes, that's right – replied the former Marshal of the Senate.

PiS Announces Amendment to Animal Protection Law Introducing Compensation for Farmers. Terlecki: It will calm those who tried to present the law as harmful.

On October 13, we will submit such an amendment, providing for compensation for farmers. It will be full compensation. Everyone who was waiting for such an amendment, it will be realized. At the moment, our legislators are working to develop such an amendment” – said the head of the PiS Senate club, Marek Martynowski, at a press conference in the Sejm.

I think this is very important news that will calm those who tried to present this law as harmful to farmers, to producers. I think that these problems will be solved, at least partially, and perhaps entirely, by the amendment we are talking about. Currently, we anticipate payments for those who produce meat. They will be initiated when the law comes into force. There is a year-long vacatio legis. It will be spread over a certain period, not a one-time payment, but probably for two or three years after the law is introduced” – added the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Ryszard Terlecki.

11:32

Terlecki on Ardanowski: 'He has his remarks, but declared loyalty to the club. He denied all rumors about an alleged faction.'

The minister has his opinions, remarks, which he presented to us in detail, and he also declared loyalty to the club. He denied all rumors that are circulating about an alleged faction or something like that. It was a useful conversation that dispelled doubts” - said Deputy Marshal Ryszard Terlecki at a press conference in the Sejm.

11:33

Terlecki on Czarnik: His nomination is not under threat, and using insinuations or false news is irresponsible given the serious threat of the epidemic.

"The opposition probably doesn't understand what has happened. I am surprised that the media are repeating false information. There was a statement from the hospitals on this matter. There was a statement from the minister. His nomination is not under threat, and I consider the use of any insinuations or false news to be irresponsible at a time when we face a serious threat from the epidemic" - said Deputy Marshal Ryszard Terlecki at a press conference in the Sejm.

Andrusiewicz on Parliamentary Oversight at the Ministry of Health: "Tweeting Non-Stop from the Ministry of Health While Others Do Their Jobs, While These Gentlemen Sit at a Table, Waiting, Sipping Tea, Is Truly Embarrassing"

- First of all, ladies and gentlemen, the fact that the gentlemen deputies noticed no one, that everyone is at work. No one will be waiting with a welcoming ceremony for two gentlemen deputies who stroll around town from time to time and visit the Ministry of Health. I apologize for this phrasing, but it's a bit to get media exposure, because tweeting non-stop from the Ministry of Health while others are performing their duties, while these gentlemen sit at a table, waiting, sipping tea, is truly, please forgive me, I'll say it, embarrassing – said Wojciech Andrusiewicz during a press conference.

13:44

Morawiecki:

The Pandemic is a Game Changer in Modern Economic History

- Today, therefore, one cannot underestimate the great challenges that the world has faced with the coronavirus pandemic. Of course, one can argue and question the approaches or methods many countries have used to deal with this pandemic, but there is no doubt that this impact is already a very noticeable, as young people say, game changer in the economic history of the modern world, upon which paradigm shifts are superimposed - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the 10th Congress of Poland: The Great Project.

13:45

PM on Lockdown: Today We Know, Foreign Institutes Confirm, That We Saved at Least 20,000 Lives

- Poland's response to COVID-19 in its initial phase was appropriate. I remember that day, March 13th. I am not superstitious, but it was also a Friday when we made the first decisions to close many areas of social and economic life. I received a lot of calls afterwards questioning this approach, whether it was worth doing it for a few deaths, that it was all unproven, that there was no need to react like this. But today we know, and foreign institutes also confirm, that we saved at least 20,000 human lives by doing so. And this value of human life guided us then, and it guides us today in the subsequent responses we are providing, where we want to find the best measure, the golden mean, between responding to problems in healthcare with the coronavirus and the economic problems that this pandemic brings with it - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the X Congress of Poland Great Project.

14:29

Budka:

I've appealed and demanded President Duda urgently convene the National Security Council

- Today I've appealed and demanded that President Andrzej Duda urgently convene the National Security Council. Today we should have a clear and readable systemic plan for fighting COVID. Today we should know what the specific recommendations of this government and experts are for particular sectors or particular branches of public administration. Instead, we have progressing chaos. Teachers don't know if schools will be open on Monday. Parents don't know if their children will have care next week. Instead, we have scant information from the government camp and what's more, we have examples of absolute ignorance when it comes to basic safety principles. I mean here the not-yet, I hope, minister of education and science, who, without any procedure, is entering a hospital ward - said Borys Budka during a press conference in Krakow.

Terlecki Misleads Farmers. My Loyalty and Staying in the PiS Club Depends on a Complete Change of the Harmful Animal Protection Act

Sawicki:

Terlecki Speaks What He Knows, and Since He Knows Little About Agriculture and the Economy, He Simply Spouts Nonsense. Today, There Isn't Even a Method to Estimate Compensation for a Ritual Slaughter Ban

Mr. Terlecki speaks what he knows, and since he knows little about agriculture and the economy, he simply spouts nonsense. We need to be clear that today there isn't even a way or method to estimate how much compensation would have to be paid in the event of banning ritual slaughter and eliminating 58% of Polish poultry exports and over 30% of beef exports. It would be good if Mr. Terlecki knew that in this economic chain, where export is the final link, there is also feed production, and the production of agricultural inputs” – said Marek Sawicki from PSL-Koalicja Polska in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM’s “Political Interview.”

19:56

Radziwiłł:

We are dealing with a rampant epidemic

- Of course, we are dealing with a rampant epidemic, and if at any point I said [that we are not observing a dynamic increase in patients in hospitals requiring care], it was probably either half a sentence, or it was at a time when we were not observing such a rampant development of the epidemic. However, as far as the city is concerned, please forgive me, but within the last 3 days, I have made about 15 decisions to establish new COVID wards in Mazovia, including three in Warsaw - stated Konstanty Radziwiłł in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

20:10

Radziwiłł:

Power Cannot Do More, But I Have Doubts About the Opposition's Intentions
Of course, power cannot do more, but I have doubts about the intentions of the opposition you are talking about. A few days ago, MP Szczerba, for example, brought up the major issue that my drivers, specific drivers of Governor Radziwiłł, were vaccinated at the expense of patients from risk groups and healthcare workers. I'm setting aside the fact that vaccinating the governor's drivers might have been very sensible. I'm setting aside the fact that they weren't vaccinated, but this simply shows what the opposition's scrutiny towards us looks like. It's not about achieving something positive, about acting constructively, but rather it's just one big instigation - stated Konstanty Radziwiłł in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

Niedzielski on School Closures: 'I Don't Think Such Full-Scale Closures Will Happen. In My Opinion, It's a Very Unlikely Scenario.'

- I don't think such full-scale closures will happen. In my opinion, it's a very unlikely scenario. Mr. Editor is asking me about a certain ability to predict the future, which is unfortunately not so simple - said Adam Niedzielski in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Sprawdzam" program.

20:33

Niedzielski:

It Was Hard to Predict Two Weeks Ago That Daily Cases Would Exceed 4,000. What I Can Promise Are Quick Reactions, Professional Analysis, Swift Decision-Making

- From my perspective, also looking at the results concerning how effectively we are acting, we are acting professionally, and it was difficult to predict two weeks ago that the scale of daily infections would exceed four thousand cases. What I can promise are quick reactions, professional analysis, swift decision-making, but not fortune-telling - said Adam Niedzielski on TVN24.

20:37

Niedzielski on calming statements by PMM and PAD in July and September regarding the pandemic: 'I won't sugarcoat it. I'd rather say that everyone felt a sense of relaxation over the holidays.'

- I won't sugarcoat it here, because I'd rather say that everyone, during and before the holiday period, felt a certain atmosphere of relaxation. The number of cases indeed decreased at the turn of June and July, and everyone can probably honestly say they felt a bit like the epidemic was easing off - said Adam Niedzielski on TVN24.

20:43

Niedzielski on Czarnek's Hospital Visit: 'I Probably Wouldn't Have Done That, But I Don't Know the Exact Situation or the Health Condition of the Person Close to MP Czarnek'

- If the editor is asking me whether I would have acted in such a way, to visit someone in the hospital now in May, then I probably wouldn't have done that, but I don't know the exact situation and, above all, the health condition of the person who, as I understand it, is close to MP Czarnek - said Adam Niedzielski on TVN24.
