Dworczyk on Rising Infections: Compared to Other European Countries, These Increases Are Not Very Alarming. Nevertheless, They Cannot Be Ignored
The most important factor is the dynamics of infections and the preparedness of medical services to admit patients. Here, we are prepared in terms of resources, meaning the number of beds in infectious disease hospitals, the number of ventilators, and personnel. This matter is completely under control. However, of course, this increase in cases cannot be underestimated. These are already numbers exceeding a thousand, one and a half thousand. In comparison, this must also be emphasized, to other European countries, these increases are not very alarming. Nevertheless, they cannot be ignored, and all recommendations issued by the Chief Sanitary Inspector and the Ministry of Health must be followed - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały dnia" on Jedynka radio.

07:41

Dworczyk:

German Politicians Should Be Particularly Careful With Their Words, as Historical Context and Associations Can Be Dire

- Firstly, when it comes to German politicians, they should pay particular attention to their words, because the historical context and historical associations can be dire, especially regarding words like "starvation" or other imprudently uttered sentences in the mouths of German politicians. Secondly, this translation, in my opinion, further implicates the author, because what does it mean that Hungary can be starved, but Poland cannot - said Michał Dworczyk on Polskie Radio Jedynka.

- Thirdly, the context. If one listens to the entire statement, it is clear from the context that it concerned not only Hungary but also Poland - he added.

07:45

Dworczyk:

Prime Minister Spoke with the President. They Agreed on the Swearing-in Date for New Ministers. According to My Knowledge, the Presidential Chancellery Will Announce the Date Today.

- Yesterday, the Prime Minister spoke with President Andrzej Duda, and they agreed on a date for the swearing-in of new ministers. According to my knowledge, the Presidential Chancellery will make this date public today - said Michał Dworczyk on Jedynka radio.

- Do you understand that this date is for next week? - asked Gójska.

- Yes, of course - Dworczyk replied.

Biedroń on the Unification of SLD and Wiosna: Today the Conscience of the Third Republic is Needed, but So Too is the Dream of the Fifth Republic, of Building a State in a Different Way Than the Radical Right Has Built It in Recent Years, and Before Them,

SLD and Wiosna are forming a new political party, so both SLD and Wiosna will cease to function. We will be two factions within one centre-left party. I deeply believe, based on various experiences: good and bad, because I also have bad experiences, of course, that the left always wins when it goes united. It loses when it goes divided. This is not just in the interest of the left. Today the conscience of the Third Republic is needed, but perhaps also the dream of the Fifth Republic is needed, of building a state in a different way than the radical right has built it in recent years, and before them, the neoliberals” - said MEP Robert Biedroń from Lewica in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

08:36

Biedroń on Czarnek's Appointment: A Good Moment for Duda to Redeem Himself. Let the Voice Appeal That Children in Poland Not Be Managed by Someone Known as the Most Radical Face of the Homophobic Right

This [Czarnek's appointment] is a good moment for President Duda to redeem himself, to show that he did make a mistake somewhere, and each of us makes mistakes, and this is a mistake that perhaps cuts the deepest. I remember mothers standing before the Presidential Palace and their piercing appeal about the fate of their children, what these children are experiencing and what might happen to them. If that didn't reach President Duda's heart, then let the voice appeal that our children, children in Poland, not be managed by someone like Mr. Czarnek, who is known for being the most radical face of the homophobic, populist, xenophobic right. Czarnek is Rydzyk's father, only in a suit” – said MEP Robert Biedroń from The Left in TOK FM.

08:38

Bielan:

Kaczyński is in politics to change reality, not to wield power or pamper himself. The next eighteen months are crucial for the United Right to implement change.

- I would like to remind you that the media have been appealing for months for the leader of PiS and at the same time the leader of the United Right to join the government. I think this is a moment when, after 4 election campaigns, after a two-year, one might say, continuous election campaign, and we have 3 years without elections ahead of us, we have comfortable conditions for implementing changes. Jarosław Kaczyński is a politician known for being in politics to change reality, not to wield power, to celebrate it, or to ensure hot water in the tap, to quote Donald Tusk from a famous interview, but to change reality. If we, as the right-wing, as the United Right camp, want to change this reality, then the next eighteen months are crucial, so I think Jarosław Kaczyński conducted a similar analysis, hence his entry into the government. I believe this decision was made many weeks ago - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Poranek Siódma9.

08:44

Bielan:

After a Two-Year Election Campaign, We Must Now Focus on Reforming the Country. The Next Year and a Half Will Be a Crucial Period

- Jarosław Kaczyński once had a famous slogan in the 1990s: acceleration. I think that after this two-year election campaign, we must now focus on reforming the country. Of course, we also have the current economic and health situation related to the coronavirus crisis, but if we want to introduce significant changes, those that will remain after us, those reforms that are needed to build a strong and efficient state, then the next year and a half will be a crucial period. And I am glad that Jarosław Kaczyński will be in the government during this time, because it will certainly increase the government's authority and the position of the Council of Ministers - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Poranek Siódma9.

08:49

Bielan:

We will continue economic reforms and the justice system overhaul. Consensus reached within the coalition on most issues.

- We will, of course, continue both the changes in the economic sphere and, for example, the reform of the justice system. I don't want to talk about details at this moment, as we are still before the reconstruction. I think we have an agreement on most matters. There is already consensus within the United Right coalition on most issues, but we will still need to agree on the rest of the bills that will be part of this autumn offensive, so I don't want to reveal individual elements of this program offensive until it is fully agreed upon - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on the morning show Siódma9.

08:59

Bielan on Media Deconcentration: 'It's Not a Frozen Issue; Governments Have Failed to Address it for 20 Years. Now is the Time to Seize the Bull by the Horns.'
No, it's not a suspended and frozen issue [media deconcentration]. It's an issue that successive governments have been unable to deal with for 20 years. Now is certainly a good time to seize the bull by the horns. If not now, then when? So, I don't know if it will be on the parliamentary agenda this autumn or perhaps in the spring, but I believe the upcoming political season may bring resolutions on this matter as well – stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Poranek Siódma9.

European Council Adopts Our Economic Plan for a Democratic Belarus After Lengthy Debate

I can say with great satisfaction that the European Council yesterday, after a very long debate, adopted the economic and financial plan we proposed for a democratic Belarus. This was a consequence of our actions in recent weeks,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Brussels.

The plan is intended to support democratic transformations in Belarus, transformations that serve a free, sovereign Belarus. We also want to involve international institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank, as well as European institutions: the EBRD and the EIB, in this plan,” he added.

10:29

Tomczyk:

We're Launching the Biggest Parliamentary Oversight in 5 Years, Actually a Series of Over 20 Controls Over the Next Month
We want to tell you directly that we are launching the biggest parliamentary oversight in the last 5 years, or rather a series of controls, about 20 controls, which will take place over the next month. Today, the first six controls in the ministries so that we can show you the truth about this government. Today we are starting a series of parliamentary controls to show what the truth looks like. Truth is the number one enemy of this government. Truth is the number one enemy of PiS. When citizens decide in elections based on the truth, they will always choose those they trust, those who do not lie to them, who do not betray them – stated Cezary Tomczyk at a press briefing in the Sejm.

PM:

Regarding Belarus, we have concrete proposals, a positive economic plan. It was adopted by the European Council, and the Council tasked the European Commission with developing it.

- Now, after these two days of the European Council meeting, one can say with full conviction that the issue of Belarus is also an issue for the European Union. Here, regarding Belarus, we have certain, very concrete proposals. A positive economic plan for a democratic Belarus. I presented this plan yesterday. After a long debate that lasted until the late hours of the night, this plan was also adopted by the European Council, and the European Council tasked the European Commission from this perspective. It tasked them to develop this plan and flesh it out with concrete projects, concrete programs - said Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference in Brussels.

- Within the framework of this plan, tasks such as support for Belarusian small and medium-sized enterprises, visa-free travel, or a stabilization fund are included, drawing on Poland's experience from its transformation period - he added.

PM Morawiecki on European Council Summit: 'The Issue of Linking Rule of Law to EU Funds Was Literally Raised at the Very End by Two or Three Western Countries. I Spoke Up, as Did the Hungarian Prime Minister. It Was Essentially About Outlining Our Prioriti

Over these two days, literally at the very end of the discussion, this topic [linking the rule of law to EU funds] was raised by two or three Western countries. Consequently, I spoke up, and so did the Prime Minister of Hungary. However, it was not the intention of the President of the European Council to discuss this topic further. Therefore, the discussion was closed. One could say that it was essentially an outline of one’s priorities, one’s positions” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in Brussels.

15:11

Polish PM: I Called for a Halt to Nord Stream 2 Construction, Especially in Light of the Navalny Case

- I also appealed, especially in the context of Mr. Navalny's case, for the suspension of Nord Stream 2 construction. Nord Stream 2 is an element of geopolitics pursued with consistency by the Russian Federation. Russia pursues its aggressive policy in various ways, from military aggression, as we witnessed in the case of Georgia and Ukraine, to poisoning its citizens, imposing its own sanctions, economic embargoes, and trade wars - said Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference in Brussels.

15:14

Morawiecki Assigns Digitalization Responsibilities to Zagórski: Acknowledging Excellence and Future Progress

Acknowledging merit and thanking for excellent work, I would like to entrust the responsibilities [regarding digitalization] further to Mr. Marek Zagórski, as a person working directly with me in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. From this perspective, Minister Zagórski will continue to be responsible for digitalization, which is a key element of technological progress and breaking free from the trap of the economic crisis after Covid” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in Brussels.

15:17

PMM:

We Will Oppose Protectionist Measures. There Are Many Such Actions: The Mobility Package, the Directive on Posting of Workers, and Attempts to Harmonize Social Systems
Poland strongly advocates for full freedom of services. We will oppose protectionist measures. There are many such actions. This includes the Mobility Package, the directive on posting of workers, and attempts to harmonize social systems. This approach leads to a reduction in the European Union's competitiveness in the short-term interest of the richest countries, and exclusively so – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference in Brussels.

Czarzasty on the Animal Protection Act: Left Senators Will Vote as the Parliamentary Club Voted

"The majority belongs to President Kaczyński, the instruments of power belong to President Kaczyński. The Left, in its program, when we ran together in last year's elections, one of the program points was the issue of animals bred for fur. Whether PiS presented it, or Platforma presented it, in this matter we would be unequivocal and would not change our minds" - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm from the Left, in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

19:42

Czarzasty on the Animal Protection Act: I'd pass it in the Senate without amendments. The President and President Kaczyński would have a dilemma. And I advise my PSL friends to immediately submit an amendment through the Senate.

I would pass this bill without amendments in the Senate. Consequently, the President would have a dilemma as to whether to sign it or not. This dilemma would primarily be the President's and President Kaczyński's, and I have advised and continue to advise my friends from PSL to immediately prepare an amendment submitted by the Senate, which will fix things that need fixing” - said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty from Lewica, on Polsat News.

Wójcik on his Future Position: For Now, Minister, Member of the Council of Ministers. The Scope of Responsibilities is Yet to Be Determined

- For now, I am a minister, a member of the Council of Ministers. If I indeed receive the nomination, as it is a formal process. For now, I have been recommended by Solidarna Polska. However, the specific scope of responsibilities is yet to be determined - Michał Wójcik said in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Sprawdzam".

20:31

Wójcik:

I Feel Terrorized. I'm 50, and for 50 Years I've Never Heard Anyone Say I Must Acknowledge Someone as a Woman When They Are a Man. Then They End Up in a Correctional Facility – What Then? Am I Supposed to Keep Them in the Women's Ward?
The sexual orientation of individuals is of no consequence. However, I want to say one thing. Today, the majority is effectively terrorized by the minority. The majority is terrorized by the minority. We have reached such times - Michał Wójcik stated on TVN24. - Do you feel terrorized? - Krzysztof Skórzyński asked. - Yes, I do. I am 50 years old, and for 50 years I have never heard anyone say they feel like a woman, and that I should acknowledge them as a woman, when I can see they are a man. Mr. Editor, then such a person ends up in my correctional facility – what then? Am I supposed to keep them in the women's ward? - Wójcik replied.

20:39

Wójcik:

Parents Have No Right to Spank Their Children. I Have a Daughter Studying Now, Perhaps Listening to This Program, and I've Never Spanked Her. I Tried to Educate and Talk.

- My [stance]?. Parents have no right [to spank their children]. That's why I never, I have a daughter, she's studying now, perhaps listening to this program, and I've never spanked her in my life. I tried to educate, to talk, of course. There were various situations. However, I lived in times where I myself often received a spanking. But here, one must be very careful. I believe we need to find that thread of understanding - Michał Wójcik said on TVN24.

20:43

Wójcik on the Law for Lack of Accountability for Actions During the Pandemic: If a proposal appears, perhaps to clarify something, it's worth considering. In the version that existed, we couldn't support it.

- If a proposal appears, perhaps to clarify something, it's simply worth considering, pondering. In the version that existed, we couldn't support it. I am glad that our friends from Law and Justice decided to withdraw this law - said Michał Wójcik on TVN24.
