Today marks the end of the five-year term of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Adam Bodnar. However, Parliament has not elected a new Commissioner, and according to the law, the current Commissioner will continue to perform their duties until a new one takes office.

The United States is now articulating its demands regarding Nord Stream 2 very clearly. And one might ask why they are articulating these demands so clearly? One might ask what Civic Platform did previously, when they were still in power, in this regard. Well, not only did they do nothing, but they tried to present this project as insignificant, a mere business project - said Mateusz Morawiecki in a conversation with Antoni Trzmiel on Jedynka radio. - Mr. Trzaskowski said that this is a business project, and we know perfectly well that without the support of the German state, the Russian state, nothing would have happened here. Therefore, our consistent stance has led to the fact that today this project has been put on hold for the first time and serious question marks now hang over it - added the Prime Minister.

- The Belarusian nation and this government of souls, which has begun to reign there and which we support, I think is a force of immense power today. It is like underground lava that will surely prevail sooner or later - said Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Jedynka radio.

“This is not a project that would have been created under the influence of a report published yesterday on one of the internet portals. All suggestions that some conspiracy has occurred are an untrue conspiracy theory. This is a problem that Poles have been living with for years, which has not been regulated. "It's not ruled out. It's a variant I've personally supported for many years. - We faced a similar problem when we were in power between 2005 and 2007.  At that time, we pursued a very expert approach, specifically open competitions for supervisory boards. Market experts were appointed, individuals with academic titles, from SGH [Warsaw School of Economics], and other universities. I don't hide the fact that Mr. Adam Bodnar and I differ on our approach to many matters, and in particular, I believe that the Ombudsman should treat citizens equally. When one of our citizens, in a surge of emotion, fought against an unjust verdict in the case of miners at the Wujek mine – I mean Mr. Miernik – and was sentenced to unconditional imprisonment by the court, I consider it absolutely scandalous. It deeply moved us who come from "Solidarity". I don't know what ideological background Mr. Adam Bodnar comes from, but I haven't heard him comment on this matter or on the person who was fired from a certain corporation for quoting their interpretation of the Holy Scripture. These are topics that Mr. Bodnar did not react to appropriately, as well as many others. However, I am very open to cooperating with various people. Therefore, if the Ombudsman reacted to various signals of civil rights violations and injustices coming from the right, the left, from above, and from below, I would applaud Mr. Bodnar as well. - All investments we are making and all acquisitions are aimed at building a multi-energy group that will be capable of undertaking the scope of the energy transformation. We need to merge, balance, and optimize expenditures. Through synergy, we can generate savings that we will invest in the transformation, into which we are already investing. Achieving emission neutrality means investing in RES, wind farms in the Baltic Sea, significant investments in petrochemistry and the production of biofuel additives over the first ten years. The head of the Polish government held a video conference with leaders of EU member states and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, during which he raised issues related to the current international situation, including in Belarus and Russia. EU leaders also discussed the EU's foreign policy (relations with China and Turkey). The aim of the meeting was to exchange views before the planned EU-China video conference on September 14 and the extraordinary European Council meeting on September 24-25 – informed the Prime Minister's Chancellery. The video conference was attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whose country holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting also included the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, Latvia, Malta, and Sweden.
