Tuesday's Political Agenda: Błaszczak on Pontoon Bridge Construction on the Vistula, General Promotions in the State Fire Service

At 8:30 AM, the Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, will provide information regarding the construction of a pontoon bridge on the Vistula River. The army is assisting in mitigating the consequences of the repeated failure of the wastewater collectors in the capital city of Warsaw.

In accordance with the Act on the State Fire Service, President Andrzej Duda, at the request of the Minister of Interior and Administration, has granted the rank of Brigadier General to Senior Brigadier Krzysztof Hejduk – Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the State Fire Service. The ceremony for presenting the nominations will take place at 12:00 PM in the Presidential Palace.

08:02

Fogiel:

I wouldn't anticipate changes in local governments in the near future. Of course, the administrative exclusion of Warsaw is on the table, but that concerns just one local government.

- I wouldn't anticipate changes [in local governments] in the near future. Of course, the administrative exclusion of Warsaw is on the table, but we are talking about one local government, the Masovian local government. There are many arguments in favor of this. It's about the possibility of development for the poorer parts of Masovia - said Radosław Fogiel in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:08

Fogiel:

We Are Determined to Carry Out Government Reconstruction in a Specific Formula

- We are very determined to carry out the reconstruction in the formula we have been talking about for some time now, meaning it's truly about streamlining the government, strengthening the main center of power, and giving ministers broader, yet simultaneously independent, spheres of responsibility that do not overlap with other ministries - said Radosław Fogiel on Polsat News.

08:10

Müller:

I Don't Know If the Prime Minister Will Investigate. There's No Need Now, as Kamila Andruszkiewicz Has Resigned Herself

- Let's remember that such decisions [regarding appointments] are made at individual management levels. You've given completely different examples here. I think it would be much more honest to approach each case individually. However, this doesn't change the fact that in some of the cases you mentioned, changes and corrections have already occurred, because we believe such decisions should not be made. When we see such mistakes, we simply correct them. But of course, each case must be considered individually, because you can't generalize - stated Piotr Müller in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- First and foremost, let's remember that supervisory boards or the boards of individual units make these decisions. The formal decision is made there, and that is the final appointment. We would have to go through it case by case - the government spokesperson continued.

When asked about the employment of Adam Andruszkiewicz's wife as president of the Polish Development Fund foundation, he replied: - That question should be directed to the Polish Development Fund. I don't know if the Prime Minister will investigate this. There's no need for that at the moment, because Ms. Kamila Andruszkiewicz resigned herself, and she did the right thing in the situation that arose, although I believe many words directed at Kamila Andruszkiewicz were unfair, exaggerated, and attacking, and one really needs to approach this more calmly. However, it doesn't change the fact that she made a good decision.

08:15

Müller:

Every government makes mistakes, and if the media points them out, they should be corrected. This is the fundamental difference in how we approach politics compared to our predecessors.

- Let's remember that every government makes mistakes, and if the media points them out, what should be done? They should be corrected. This is precisely the fundamental difference in how we approach politics compared to how our predecessors approached it, or at least we try to approach it in such a way that when these mistakes are pointed out, they are simply corrected. No government is infallible, it does not make mistakes - stated Piotr Müller in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

Müller on Government Reconstruction: No Final Decisions Yet, Beyond General Direction. Reducing the Number of Ministries, Say to 14, Seems Like the Maximum Limit. 14-15 Ministries
No, there are no final decisions yet [regarding the government reconstruction], beyond general directions. Reducing the number of ministries, say to 14, is a limit that seems maximum. 14-15 ministries. That would be most optimal; it would be very good if we could optimize it down to 12 ministries. Because we also need to arrange it in such a way that it is ultimately effective. When we analyze all government administration departments, at some point we see whether a ministry is not too large in terms of operational functioning. This is also an important element. They cannot be behemoths that will not be steerable – stated Piotr Müller in TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation." - This is one of the elements in the current negotiations; these decisions have not been made definitively yet, but yes, we would actually like our coalition partners to have one ministry each, in this case already consolidated – the government spokesperson continued.

08:43

Dworczyk:

Lukashenka's Recent Political Declarations and Agreements Binding Belarus Tighter to Russia Can Be Renounced After Democratic Change of Power

The political declarations that Alexander Lukashenka has recently made, or agreements designed to bind Belarus more tightly to the Russian Federation, can be renounced after a democratic change of power. Only democratically and freely elected authorities have the right to make such important decisions as strengthening relations between countries or making geopolitical, strategic decisions. Lukashenka is not a democratically and honestly elected president” – said the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, Minister Michał Dworczyk, in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info's program „Jedziemy”.

08:58

Sasin on the Number of Ministries: Between 12 and 15

Coalition talks are ongoing. The numbers being discussed are between 12 and 15 ministries. I think that's how it will look. We are in the midst of discussions. Yesterday, there was another round. On Thursday, there will be another meeting of the leaders of the parties forming the United Right. These detailed agreements will also concern how many ministries, in what form, and how these administrative departments should be organized so that everything works as well as possible. I think it will be between 12 and 15. Discussions are ongoing regarding a few ministries” – said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin in an interview with Krzysztof Ziemiec on TVP1's "Kwadrans polityczny" (Political Quarter Hour).

08:58

Sasin:

Gowin's Return to Government and Deputy Prime Minister Position Seems Decided
"It seems decided [Jarosław Gowin's return to the position of Deputy Prime Minister]. All signs point to Jarosław Gowin returning to the government. I cannot say, as it is also not yet decided, which ministry he will lead. Porozumienie has a Deputy Prime Minister, and that was the case when Jarosław Gowin was Deputy Prime Minister. [Jadwiga Emilewicz's future] will be decisions made by our coalition partners" - said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on TVP1.

08:59

Sasin:

If we look at the composition of the United Right parliamentary club, Solidary Poland and Agreement MPs constitute 15%. Government participation must also be proportional.

"If today, with 20 ministries, each of the coalition partners bears responsibility for leading two ministries, then with a reduction in the number of ministries and such a consolidation of competencies, it is obvious that there will be fewer ministries for which the coalition partners will be responsible. If we look at the composition of the United Right parliamentary club, then the MPs of Solidary Poland and Agreement constitute 15%. Participation in the government must also be proportional," said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on TVP1.

09:06

Sasin on Media Deconcentration: "We're Still Discussing Various Detailed Solutions. I Think This Project Will See the Light of Day Soon"
"We haven't presented the project yet. It's not finally ready. It's being refined. We're still discussing various detailed solutions. I think this project will see the light of day in the near future. It's necessary, because if we look at how the media market is structured in other EU countries, and we don't hide that we will be taking inspiration from solutions that are already functioning, there's no point in reinventing the wheel, because there are functioning solutions," said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on TVP1.

09:06

Błaszczak:

The Army Will Build a Pontoon Bridge for the Pipe Carrying Waste to the Czajka Treatment Plant. We Are Dealing with Negligence from the Local Authorities, President Trzaskowski
Just as it was a year ago, so now the Polish Army will build a pontoon bridge, over which a pipe will be laid, through which sewage will be transported to the Czajka wastewater treatment plant. We are undoubtedly dealing with an ecological catastrophe, because discharging sewage into the Vistula is a real threat from an ecological perspective, but we are also undoubtedly dealing with negligence on the part of the Warsaw municipal authorities, President Trzaskowski. This failure should not have happened again – said Mariusz Błaszczak during a press conference.

09:15

Błaszczak on Pontoon Bridge Costs: 'Lower Than Trzaskowski's Relaxation Zone'

- As a general rule, the Polish Army does not expect reimbursement of costs in unforeseen situations. In this case, we have a situation that was anticipated. It arises from President Trzaskowski's neglect of his duties, so it is not a catastrophe or an event that could not have been expected. If we are dealing with such a situation, the Polish Army seeks reimbursement of direct costs. In the case of the construction of this crossing, this year, I want to assure you that the amounts will be lower than, for example, the relaxation zone created by President Trzaskowski - said Mariusz Błaszczak during a press conference.

09:22

Kierwiński:

It's Natural for Trzaskowski's New Civic Movement to Present its Programmatic Ideas and Vision for Poland, in Consultation with Political Parties, including Civic Platform

- But it is natural that Rafał Trzaskowski's new civic movement will also present its programmatic ideas, its vision for Poland. However, as President Trzaskowski himself has stated, it will do so in consultation with political parties, with opposition parties, including, for example, Civic Platform, of which, as you rightly pointed out, Rafał Trzaskowski is the Vice-Chairman. I don't see any discord here - stated Marcin Kierwiński in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

09:27

Kierwiński on the Division of Mazovia: It's an Absurd Idea. The New Voivodeship, Created After Separating Warsaw, Will Be the Poorest in the Country. It Won't Be Able to Sustain Hospitals or Build Roads. It Will Be a Mere Shell, Not a Voivodeship.

- I understand this kind of political engineering that Jarosław Kaczyński practices. I don't agree with it, but I understand that Jarosław Kaczyński wants to achieve his goals. However, this idea is absurd. Because the new voivodeship, which will be created after separating Warsaw, will be the poorest voivodeship in the country. It will be a voivodeship that won't be able to sustain hospitals, that won't be able to build roads. It will be a mere shell, not a voivodeship – stated Marcin Kierwiński on Radio Plus.

12:20

President Duda: Our Firefighters are Always Ready to Serve. For Citizens, Whenever Needed

- Our firefighters are always ready to serve right here at home. For citizens, whenever the need arises. After all, it’s true that when people don’t know what to do, they call the fire department. That’s the truth. They call the fire department. But it’s not just the State Fire Service; it’s also wise support for Volunteer Fire Brigades, and it's also the excellent training of our firefighters, who also serve beyond our borders – said President Andrzej Duda during the presentation of brigadier general nominations.

12:27

Kaczyński on Government Reshuffle: Talks are Ongoing. These are, of course, complicated talks, but I am deeply convinced they will bring the right results and that the changes we are planning will be implemented.

- Talks are ongoing. These are, of course, complicated talks, but I am deeply convinced they will bring the right results and that the changes we are planning will be implemented – stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a media briefing.

12:32

PiS and its Youth Wing Submit Comprehensive Animal Rights Protection Bill:

We Count on Cross-Party Support, Because This is Not a Political Issue.

- Our formation, and I won't hide it, myself personally, have for a very long time believed that Poland needs to introduce a completely new legal order when it comes to animal protection. The reasons for this are humanitarian, but there's also another consideration. In Poland, we often talk about Europeanization, about Poland being like Europe. Sometimes this is accurate, and sometimes it's not worth emulating countries to our west. However, it is certainly accurate when we say that humanitarian standards for animals in Poland should be no worse, and perhaps even better, than in countries west of our borders. I use this term because it's not just the EU, but also other countries that are not members of the EU. And now the time has come when we can finally address this, and address it seriously. A draft bill is ready, and I wanted to say here, and this is truly very good news, that the younger generation is immensely involved in this. The younger generation of our party, here I have the chairman of our youth wing, Michał Moskal, but this is something much broader. Even those who are a bit older and function only within PiS, our party activists, are also involved. This is a sign of change for the better. We count on cross-party support, because this is not a political issue. It is an issue related to everything that is defined as humanitarianism, and it is also simply related to everything that refers to human kindness, honesty in a broad sense, to being a good person. This is a bill that all good people will certainly support. I am deeply convinced of this - stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a press briefing.

PM Mateusz Morawiecki: Eurostat Data Shows We Defended Jobs and Our Economy Resisted Reduced Working Hours

https://twitter.com/MorawieckiM/status/1303356767582257158

PMM: Eurostat data indicates that we not only managed to defend jobs, but our economy was also resilient to reduced working hours. This demonstrates that the tools we have implemented, along with the stability and diversification of our economy, are bearing fruit.

19:49

Bosak:

Hołownia Needs Time; Judge Him in a Year on the People He's Gathered and How He's Organized Them. Having One MP Changes Nothing.

- I know what it's like to build a new, nationwide political movement from scratch. It's very hard work, and honestly, I think Szymon Hołownia needs time. In a year, we should assess what kind of people he's managed to gather and in what format he's organized them. Truly, having one MP or not having one changes absolutely nothing – said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

19:53

Bosak:

Kaczyński announced he will again try to destroy Polish livestock farming under the guise of ecological actions and bowing to the left

- When it comes to destroying Polish agriculture or the livestock industry, as announced today, let's recall that Jarosław Kaczyński announced that he will again try to destroy Polish livestock farming under the guise of some ecological actions and bowing to the left, then in the ruling camp, as has been the case so far, no one has stepped out on any issue. It's a monolith - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

20:07

Bosak on Onet's Report on Fur Farms: 'If You Have Hundreds of Thousands of Animals, Some Will Always Be Injured or Sick'

- I think a lot depends simply on one's sensitivity and whether they have ever had contact with farm animals, lived in the countryside, or visited farms. I'd bet that an identical report could be made, or even a more disturbing one, for people who have never seen injured or dead animals on chicken, pig, or cattle farms. That's just how it is. On the farm where this material was filmed, according to various estimates, there are between 300,000 and 500,000 animals. If you have hundreds of thousands of animals, some will always fight amongst themselves, or be sick, or injured. The question is what the proportion is, and it's significant to me that this report didn't feature the voices of professors from SGGW, nor voices of people from the breeding industry, nor voices of veterinarians, but exclusively representatives of leftist organizations aiming to ban cage farming - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

20:13

Bosak on PiS's Animal Protection Act: If PiS Votes This Through, No Honest Person Should Ever Call This Camp the So-Called United Right Again

- Confederation will never support a law that prohibits conducting business activities. These are strictly leftist ideas, and I believe that if PiS votes this through, no honest person should ever call this camp the so-called United Right again, which journalists do habitually, even though this party has raised taxes so many times already, even introducing the sugar tax after the elections, let's recall - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

20:16

Gliński:

It's Clearly Visible That the Polish Economy is Rebounding Sharply, and We Even Have a Chance That Losses at the End of the Year Won't Be as Great as We Currently Predict

- It doesn't look too bad. Of course, we are all affected by this epidemic. It's a truly significant civilizational and economic problem, but it's clearly visible that the Polish economy is rebounding sharply, and we even have a chance that losses at the end of the year won't be as great as we currently predict - stated Piotr Gliński in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:18

Bosak on Wearing Masks: 'Generally, I am Against Any Coercion in This Matter'

- Generally, I am against any coercion in this matter. I believe that if someone believes that they increase their safety, then there is no problem with that, although it makes facial recognition more difficult – Krzysztof Bosak said on Polsat News.

- Where such an obligation is imposed, I try to behave lawfully and reluctantly, because reluctantly, but I will put on the mask – he added.

20:25

Gliński:

COVID and anti-crisis shields saved 5 million jobs in Poland. We saved the economy, in a sense, by pumping over PLN 130 billion into it.
The economy is a system of interconnected vessels; it comprises both employers and employees. Poles simply know how to work hard. But it also seems to be the case that appropriate economic decisions were made. We protected the Polish labor market. These COVID and anti-crisis shields caused us to save 5 million jobs in Poland. We saved the economy, in a sense, by pumping over PLN 130 billion into it so that Polish entrepreneurs and Polish enterprises could function and survive this period of lockdown and the most difficult moments for the economy. Currently, it is clearly visible that we are rebounding and are doing better compared to other countries – stated Piotr Gliński on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

HEADLINE:

Moskal: It Would Be Inexplicable If Our Coalitions Partners Stood Shoulder to Shoulder with Animal Abusers; Fijołek: Project to Streamline Court Structure Almost Ready
-- SUGGESTING THAT THE FIGHT AGAINST ANIMAL CRUELTY IS CONTRARY TO THE INTERESTS OF FARMERS IS A MISUNDERSTANDING - MICHAŁ MOSKAL IN CONVERSATION WITH WPOLITYCE: “Please forgive me, but it seems you are falling for a false image created by a narrow group of lobbyists profiting from animal suffering. We cannot allow ourselves to equate several million Polish farmers with a small group of people who abuse animals or a business that profits from cruelty. The Polish farmer loves the land, clean air, but most importantly, loves the animals they interact with throughout their lives. Suggesting that the fight against animal cruelty is in any way contrary to the interests of Polish farmers is a misunderstanding”. -- IT WOULD BE AN UNEXPLAINABLE TURNAROUND IF OUR COALITION PARTNERS STOOD SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH ANIMAL ABUSERS - MOSKAL CONTINUES: “I am convinced that they will support it. Environmental protection has long been on the agenda of Jarosław Gowin's Agreement. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice, nearly 2 years ago, developed and successfully implemented regulations that significantly increased penalties for perpetrators of animal abuse. I will also mention Minister Patryk Jaki's presidential campaign in Warsaw, who unequivocally advocated for ensuring adequate care and resources for the 'Na Paluchu' shelter. In my opinion, it would be an inexplicable, ideological U-turn if our coalition partners suddenly changed their stance and stood shoulder to shoulder with animal abusers. Fortunately, this scenario is unlikely. United Right has proven on numerous occasions that we are a credible formation that keeps its word”. https://wpolityce.pl/polityka/516688-michal-moskal-o-nowej-ustawie-polski-rolnik-kocha-zwierzeta -- 300POLITYKI LIVEBLOG: PRIME MINISTER ON SUCCESSFUL JOB PRESERVATION GLIŃSKI ON ECONOMIC REBOUND BOSAK CALLS KACZYŃSKI'S INITIATIVE... Gliński:

There is no talk right now of closing the economy again

- We truly defended ourselves, and as I say, the Q3 results are optimistic at the moment. Let's hope it continues. There is no talk right now of closing the economy again. We must cope in this difficult, pandemic situation. We are coping here at the economic forum at the moment as well - stated Piotr Gliński in "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.
