On Monday, Gdańsk will host the commemorations of the 40th anniversary of August 1980 and the establishment of the Independent Self-Governing Labour Union "Solidarity." The main commemorations will begin at 3:00 PM, with an address by President Andrzej Duda, among others. On Tuesday, Westerplatte will host solemn commemorations of the 81st anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, with the participation of the highest state officials. The program includes speeches by President Duda and the Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak.
