At 3:00 PM in Wrocław, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will participate in a ceremony to name the square at the intersection of Środkowa and Szczepińska streets after Kornel Morawiecki.

- Indeed, these statements are unacceptable. We also openly asked the President [of Belarus], right after the first signals of this type, for an official statement that no one in Poland has such intentions and that this is simply propaganda that has no basis, and which should not take place. It is good that yesterday these words were also repeated to the Ambassador of Belarus, who was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - said Krzysztof Szczerski in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on Radio Jedynka.

- This will be priority number one, and this is what the President expects from Polish diplomacy on the ground. Above all, we must ensure that Poles in Belarus do not become victims of this new internal conflict in that country. And especially of this new line taken by President Lukashenka - said Krzysztof Szczerski on Polish Radio's Jedynka program.

- I appeal to all Polish politicians and commentators to weigh their words very carefully these days, if they are speaking out of their own inspiration and not from external sources. This is because today, in the extremely tense atmosphere we have along Poland's eastern border, every word spoken in Poland can indeed be used against Poland, and also against Poles living there. I strongly appeal to all Polish politicians and commentators to truly weigh their words if they speak in their own name and not on behalf of others, so that these words help Poland and Poles in Belarus, rather than harm them. It is truly incredibly important to remember and understand what is being said. This is not a time for amateurs - said Krzysztof Szczerski on Radio Jedynka.

- Now, presumably, based on what we are seeing, a scenario is possible where Lukashenko becomes a figure installed in Minsk, whose basis of power will be a guarantee from Moscow, specifically the ability to intervene as during the Brezhnev era - said Krzysztof Szczerski on Jedynka radio.

- Of course, the presidential elections were lost, the result was very unsatisfactory, but we are currently preparing for actions, for certain changes within the party. There is no question [of changing the leader]. The Executive Committee and the Supreme Council unanimously supported Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and expressed great appreciation for his incredible work, which he put in over recent months and also during this presidential campaign. However, we are preparing for the party congress, which will probably be held at the beginning of next year, around February or March, we will see how the pandemic develops, and it will prepare us for the next 3 years until the next elections. We need to revitalize certain structures, rejuvenate certain structures, and continue to expand the program - stated Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Poranek Siódma9.

– Should Borys Budka give up his position as head of the club to someone else, to avoid combining these two roles, head of the club and head of Civic Platform? – Łukasz Jankowski asked.

– I think so, but I am not deciding on the timing or the form of this action, or how it should be carried out, apart from one thing that I emphasize. I would like to ask my colleagues for this to proceed in an atmosphere of consensus, so that it is not an element of some conflict or emotion, that we need to look for such a person or persons, because these are the club authorities who will work hard, who will cooperate well with the party leader and the party board, and who will be ready for all the challenges that lie ahead of us. For an opposition party, the parliamentary club is like the command center for all matters and actions, so it is an incredibly important place – Tomasz Siemoniak said on Radio Wnet.

- Yes, of course, that is the parliamentary arithmetic, that is the procedure in the Constitution [that the candidate for RPO is approved by the Sejm and the Senate]. I believe I will be elected. I am doing everything to convince the parliamentary majority, to convince all forces in the Sejm, as well as in the Senate. I am meeting with all politicians from every side of the parliamentary benches and I hope that my vision for the office and my idea for this office will convince everyone. Yes, I have also had meetings with people from PiS – stated Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek in the Seventh Morning program.

- I am counting on it that now, at the beginning of September, when the Sejm returns from vacation, there will be further meetings ahead of me – she continued.

- We have clearly stated that at the moment we will not enter into a coalition with PiS. For a very simple reason. Because the thing we will never accept is the destruction of the separation of powers, the executive taking control over the prosecution and the courts. We cannot agree to that - stated Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski in the morning program Siódma9.

- If PiS said to us: well, listen, indeed, come to us and take the Ministry of Justice and sort it out, that would be an offer worth considering. But I doubt it will be made - the PSL politician continued.

- Yes, absolutely. I am shocked that the role of church communities has not been taken into account for years when measuring the level of civil society, and yet church communities largely co-create civil society. Moreover, they also substitute for the state in various areas of assistance, for example, hospices run by church organizations play a huge role in Poland. Therefore, it is impossible to ignore or overlook such organizations - stated Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz in the Siódma9 Morning program.

- I am not in favor of someone who was the main leader staying on with a new leader. Of course, I greatly value and respect Grzegorz Schetyna, and I know that Borys Budka benefits from his knowledge, they talk, they probably agree sometimes, and disagree sometimes. However, I believe that such arrangements prove to be incredibly troublesome. This isn't specifically about Grzegorz Schetyna, but I always believe that in such a situation, it's the new leader, the new leadership that should have freedom, but in contact with former leaders - Tomasz Siemoniak said on Radio Wnet.

So that through various methods we can reach principals, teachers, and parents, to ensure they are as fully informed as possible, so they know what to do with the start of the new school year - said Dariusz Piontkowski during a press conference.

- The Act on Territorial Self-Government and its competencies clearly states that local governments are the authority responsible for the majority of schools in Poland. This is why they receive a share of taxes, among other things, to secure funds for school equipment and personal protective equipment. - I think my father was both crazy and very wise. Crazy in his desire for freedom, at a time when few believed in regaining it. So quickly, especially. And he was sensible, wise, because he was already sowing the seeds for a free Poland back then. He was sowing seeds because while in the years of communism, the 70s and 80s, he started in 1968 by painting a swastika and a hammer and sickle with an equals sign and the inscription "hands off Czechoslovakia" on train stations along the route of the Warsaw Pact troops to Prague, he later, in the years of free Poland, strived for reconciliation. And not for a conspiracy over the heads of the nation, a conspiracy of some self-proclaimed elites, but for authentic reconciliation. And this idea guided him until his last years, in which he could also actively participate in public life, and he did so very effectively. Because effective political struggle can consist, on the one hand, of holding certain offices or of effective action in opposition. Or also of fighting with a pen, with free thought, as Narbut said, which we should never give up. And he never gave up this free thought - PMM continued.

- Today, much of what is good in Poland, and much good is happening, is also thanks to his perseverance, his stubbornness, and his fight for this free and solidary Poland. The fight for faith and for independence. And we live in such a Poland today, and that is why his work must be commemorated, also through the presence of his name in public space - the prime minister emphasized.

– This meeting in this format of EU Foreign Ministers is informal. We meet like this twice a year. So it was a candid exchange, without any experts or aides, and we unanimously agreed, absolutely no one had to convince anyone, that the constantly deteriorating situation in Belarus clearly requires a multifaceted response from the EU. We are ready to prepare, on the one hand, and this process has already begun, sanctions, and on the other hand, a European Union package for Belarusian society – stated Zbigniew Rau in an interview with journalists in Berlin.

– Everything indicates that, as we decided, this sanctions procedure is moving forward, and I do not hide the fact that there is strong pressure, primarily, but not exclusively, from the countries of our region, but also from Italy and Denmark, to materialize these sanctions as quickly as possible – said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

– The matter comes down to this: these are to be personal sanctions. A ban on entry into the EU, and the recipients of these sanctions, if one can say so, will be high-ranking officials of the Belarusian state. Those who bear responsibility for the atrocities that have taken place. Also, probably, for the falsification of elections – he noted.

- We don't really use such a nomenclature as 'superministries' because ministries play an extremely important role in the effective management of the budget and, above all, the entire state, infrastructure development, the economy, social affairs, and security. Looking at it that way, yes, the integration of some ministries may occur, we also have such plans and we are discussing them at the political level. We shouldn't prejudge today in what form they will ultimately be maintained. However, you asked about the number, it is not ruled out that there will be around 13-14 ministries - said Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dariusz Wieczorkowski on Radio Wrocław.

- We want to achieve, first and foremost, that the government, broadly understood, is organized as well as possible, and that employees, civil servants at all levels, are as motivated as possible. So we are not giving any numbers, although of course, I would like us to use digitalization to leverage natural retirements and departures for various reasons and to reduce the number of civil servants, because Polish enterprises, the Polish economy needs workers, and I think that employees who are civil servants today can also play a very important role in other sectors of the economy - said Mateusz Morawiecki on Radio Wrocław.

- I think it's worth considering linking salaries to those of judges. Supreme Court judges and judges in general, because when I look at a very young judge, just starting their career, earning more than a deputy minister who is responsible for a gigantic area of responsibility, I think that in our beloved country, not everything is organized as it should be - said Mateusz Morawiecki on Radio Wrocław. 

Difficult to find a country in the EU where there are no regulations regarding media concentration. This is an EU standard – respect for investors and freedom of speech. Time for Poland.

- Tomorrow we will meet in Warsaw for what can be called our founding congress with our 50 leaders from 16 local branches. We will discuss all possible issues related to the launch of the movement, not only programmatic but also organizational. This is a huge machine, we currently have almost 20,000 people signed up - said Szymon Hołownia in a conversation with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

- We will also be preparing for elections, because we want to participate in parliamentary, local, presidential, and European Parliament elections. But as people who know why they want to enter politics. Hence our think tank Strategie 2050 - said Szymon Hołownia on TVN24.

- The party will be ready when we need it. I think in today's times of considerable uncertainty, when we are constantly threatened with early elections, and the party registration process can take up to a year, we will have to think about it quickly - he added.

- Solely and exclusively from donations, from a citizen collection at this moment. We tallied it yesterday that since this first round of elections, when my campaign ended, we have collected, if I remember correctly, because I don't even have access to the account ourselves, about 800,000 PLN. Of course, we need a lot of money, but I think about four times less than political parties - said Szymon Hołownia on TVN24.

„I look at the Minister of Education and I see someone who is completely lost and started explaining anything far too late. Unfortunately, these fears are being transferred to the children. Children are also watching television now, hearing what is being said about schools, about the situation, about the number of infections. All of this is happening too late. There was plenty of time to prepare well” - said Deputy Chairman of Civic Platform (PO) Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

„We will also discuss this [changing the party's name]. I believe this is not the most important issue. By expanding, we are ready to present a different name. We ran in the European elections as Koalicja Europejska (European Coalition), and in the last parliamentary elections as Koalicja Obywatelska (Civic Coalition). The tools to win elections lie not in the name, [but] in credibility, program offer, and opposition stance” - said PO Vice-Chairman Tomasz Siemoniak on Polsat News.
