- This temptation has been ongoing for some time, but we will not yield to this temptation, because we have a different vision for Poland. We will not be an appendage of PiS, nor a satellite of Civic Platform. We are going our own way - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Grzegorz Jankowski on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on Polish Radio's Jedynka channel.

“Every year different [gadgets] were invented and every year they were gladly accepted. This audit is a shell, a political squib. The CIS is currently managed by politicians, inept politicians, who couldn't get into the Sejm, and they are currently managing information and spreading false information” - said Stanisław Karczewski from PiS in an interview with Agata Adamek on "One on One" on TVN24.

- There [on social media], especially during elections, there's sometimes a bazaar. And there's a good saying that anything before 4 PM is fake news. So I can say that anything concerning the coalition agreement and the new shape of the government, anything that appears in August, will be fake news. We can expect real information at the beginning of September - stated Krzysztof Sobolewski on TVP1's "Kwadrans polityczny" (Political Quarter-Hour).

- It will certainly be like that [speculations], because it's unavoidable and no one will forbid it, of course mainly journalists who speculate, talk about various issues, throw out 10 scenarios, 10 variants, and one of them will probably turn out to be true, but it's 1 out of 10, it's hard not to hit the mark if you throw out all the possibilities - he continued.

- Work is currently underway on the project. I admit, the work is ongoing. However, when it will be publicly available and when it will be submitted to the Marshal's Office, that decision is still ahead of us - stated Krzysztof Sobolewski in TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

- Yesterday, we received information that Commissioner Helena Dalli from the European Commission stated that the Commission is withdrawing financial resources from six Polish cities. This is because they adopted resolutions on family rights cards or LGBT-free zones. This action is unfounded and unlawful, which is why I have asked the Prime Minister to take decisive action against the European Commission so that such acts of lawlessness by the Commission are not undertaken. The EU Treaty clearly states that the European Commission and all EU bodies have a duty to respect the national identity of individual states, have a duty to respect the principle of equality of local governments and the equality of citizens, whose right it is to freely shape their own opinions, beliefs, and views, which cannot be censored in any way and on which no pressure can be exerted in any way related to any ideology or views of certain European officials - said Zbigniew Ziobro during a statement to the media.

- Some are for doing it. If it's to be done, it should be done urgently. Others are for postponing it - stated Ryszard Terlecki in an interview with journalists in the Sejm, when asked if Mazovia would be divided, arguing that "there is a discussion on this topic, also within our circle."

- I am for doing it urgently, but I am not insistent, because I also understand the arguments of those who say that it needs to be postponed - stated the head of the PiS parliamentary club. - If it needs to be done - then now - he emphasized.

- We will not repeat the mistakes of the West in Poland. We all see what tolerance towards barbarism leads to. Tolerance also means reciprocity. At the upcoming Sejm session on August 7th – the day after the National Assembly – a Senate motion to reject the "sugar tax" bill is scheduled for a vote. The government's proposal passed through the lower house in February. The Senate's veto – the final stage of parliamentary proceedings – was intended to be voted on in April, but was ultimately dropped from the agenda.

The law was theoretically set to come into effect on July 1st of this year, but PiS decided it would only be implemented from the beginning of next year. As the law can no longer be amended at this stage of the proceedings, the postponement of the effective date was included in another bill, which the Senate is set to address next Tuesday.

If all goes according to plan, the Sejm will, next Friday, reject the Senate's veto of the sugar tax bill and conclude its work on the aforementioned amendment, thus sending both bills to the President's desk. Ultimately, the new tax – if President Duda signs the bills – will come into effect on January 1st, 2021.

„I hope the President understands that this is his only chance for a completely different second term. I hope that Mr. President will lead a sincere, open, and substantive conversation and guarantee us that he will veto those laws that attempt to unhinge institutions that should be completely independent, for example, by attacking free media or taking away prerogatives or money from local governments” - said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on TVN24.

„[Nowak's arrest] was a surprise, because all operations that have their conclusion a few days after an election must evoke surprise. Of course, it was a surprise. Let's wait for the verdict of an independent court. Numerous doubts arise. I do not fully trust the prosecution, which acts on political orders, but that's what courts are for, to resolve such matters” – said the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on TVN24.

"I am distrustful. Courts are there to clarify these matters [like Sławomir Nowak's case]. I hope the Prime Minister confirms that no staff member or I was ever spied on, because such an assurance is extremely important for all of us" - said the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on TVN24.

„The [Civic] Movement will definitely not be a political party and will certainly cooperate with the Civic Coalition. This is absolutely clear to me. There will be no party element, because all party members should act within political parties. I want to create a platform based on local governments that will harness the energy of people who do not belong to parties and do not want to belong to them” - said the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on TVN24.

„There are several ideas [for the first citizen legislative initiative]. The matter of 200 zlotys, this idea my wife developed for all women who raised children, so they are treated equally in terms of pension pay. Certainly, the matter of clearly explaining educational subsidies, so it is clear what local government is responsible for and what the government is responsible for, so that local governments receive adequate funds for their functioning. Certainly, a law, which I will discuss with the President tomorrow, about ensuring adequate financing for local governments that are on the front lines of the fight against Covid” – said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on TVN24.

"I will certainly discuss [with the President] the bill concerning the financing of local governments much more broadly. Today, all local governments have recorded a huge drop in revenue. Yes [I will ask the President for legislative initiative on this matter], exactly. This is a test of the President's intentions, whether he will actually defend local governments, whether he will support the bad ideas of his political colleagues from his political circle, from PiS, and whether he will be ready to clearly state that local governments have today been stripped of a large part of their revenues - either by PiS fulfilling its promises" - said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on TVN24.

- First and foremost, these types of resolutions (by local governments regarding LGBT-free zones) are absurd, because a local government that engages in excluding people, in hate speech, in treating someone in this way because of their sexual orientation, shows that it is not a local government, but some ideology. There are no decisions, however, we warned what intolerance can lead to. Everyone is equal before the law and such resolutions should be repealed by administrative courts – said Borys Budka in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

- Rafał Trzaskowski was one of the first people who encouraged me to run for the leadership of Civic Platform. He is the Vice-Chairman and will remain so. Rafał Trzaskowski will be creating a movement for all those who do not want to be in a political party. But when we talk about running in parliamentary elections, that's what political parties are for - said Borys Budka in Polsat News.

- The next battlefront will be the media, it will be local government, and perhaps electoral districts, if Kaczyński deems it profitable to eliminate smaller political parties. That is why, as the leader of Platforma, I am already declaring cooperation on equal terms with all opposition parties – said Borys Budka on Polsat News.
