“We didn’t realize that someone would appear who would want to lecture all of us, who would tell us what family and patriotism are, and who would tell us who has Polish hearts and a Polish soul. We didn’t expect such times could come. That is precisely what these elections are about. These elections are about losing something we don't think about daily, yet it's the foundation of our freedom – losing free courts, free media, local governments, but above all, losing our soul. We will not allow this, and that is precisely why we need change, so as not to have our soul and our freedom taken away” – said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition’s presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw, in Rybnik at the campaign finale.
