At 11:30 AM in the Presidential Palace, President Andrzej Duda will sign a draft amendment to the Constitution. "I believe that the Polish Constitution should explicitly state that the adoption or fostering of a child by a person in a same-sex relationship is prohibited," PAD said over the weekend. PAD's meetings with residents will take place at 3:00 PM in Starachowice, at 5:15 PM in Mniów, and at 10:35 PM, after the TVP debate, in Końskie. The aforementioned presidential TVP debate will take place at 9:00 PM in Końskie.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will be visiting the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships. At 10:00 AM, a press conference will be held at Port Gdynia S.A., at 11:50 AM - the presentation of grants for the purchase of fire engines in Grudziądz, at 2:00 PM - a meeting with local government officials in Chełmża, at 4:20 PM - a visit to the company JK Miłosz Kiedrowski in Bysław, and at 5:05 PM - a meeting with local government officials in Tuchola.

- I think the President is calmly presenting the successes of his presidency, precisely in this campaign, and is responding to brutal attacks because he is being brutally attacked. We have seen what has been happening in recent days. I fear that unfortunately, in the last week, this campaign will truly hit rock bottom, because these attacks are completely below any level of criticism – stated Marcin Mastalerek in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- I see what is happening on the internet, I see the slander that is being written, then deleted by prominent PO MPs. This looks really bad. It started with insulting voters, after President Duda's victory in the first round. Now I see some insinuations, deleted moments later from Twitter accounts. It's disgusting. As someone who is sitting and watching from the sidelines, observing, I would like to compare the candidates' programs and their visions, not what the entourage of one of the candidates is trying to sneakily convey in a disgusting way, also using bots and fake accounts. I hope this campaign doesn't look like this in the last week. We all know what this is about. You are active on social media, after all. It's good that these things are deleted quickly, but PO politicians or their entourage should not behave like this, even when their nerves are frayed – he continued.

- We are dealing with a situation where one of the candidates is running a campaign in which he completely changes his mind and is not held accountable for it by the media. What's more, the media that favor him are even applauding and clapping. Nobody asks the question: hello, but you changed your mind. Everyone is happy, oh he changed his mind – stated Marcin Mastalerek in TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- If you claim that the so-called "Warsaw elite" refers to residents, then I think we won't reach an agreement in such a short program. I interpret it completely differently. Besides, the President spoke about it. It concerned the so-called elites, the so-called celebrities, who attacked the voters, including those from Warsaw, of President Duda - stated Marcin Mastalerek in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- Please juxtapose this [TVN24 article about pardoning a pedophile] with the disgusting cover of 'Fakt'. I spoke with someone who knows German media very well, who speaks excellent German. He says that in Germany, 'Bild' would never allow such a thing. Apparently, in Poland, its sister publication 'Fakt' can permit itself this, and when I look at this matter, this disgusting cover, I can only wonder about one thing: where is the RPO (Commissioner for Human Rights) today, who would normally be organizing three press conferences in such situations. You can see environmental divisions, you can see sympathies are above the welfare of victims – stated Marcin Mastalerek in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- It wasn't strongly formulated and a strong attack [the 'Fakt' cover], it was disgusting. It was disgusting. Let's call a spade a spade. Why are you afraid of such words? - I understand the attacks from a part of the political scene on TVP, but I remember TVP from when I was a politician, which was 5 years ago. I remember leaving a TVP studio because they completely ignored Andrzej Duda's campaign during the final weekend of that campaign. I remember the propaganda during the PO government. If those who are trying to get outraged about propaganda today, well, forgive me, let them remember what happened back then, and then they'll understand: it was good television then, and now it's bad. It was good because PO was doing propaganda, and now it's bad because it's on the side of the other one - stated Marcin Mastalerek in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- The President has taken up this matter with the President of Germany. That is his task - said Krzysztof Szczerski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM's "Morning Conversation".

- And I am asking you, what have the authorities done? Some draft law, some official position, a note from the Polish government? Nothing? - the journalist pressed.

- Everything that was necessary has been done. And you want to force reparations through force? It is a matter of conversation - Szczerski replied.

– Andrzej Duda will attend the presidential debate with Poles, with the residents, which TVP is organizing in Końskie. Meanwhile, at the same time, Mr. Rafał Trzaskowski is organizing a press conference in Leszno – said Krzysztof Szczerski on RMF FM.

„It seems that Andrzej Duda is simply being a coward. We proposed the most open formula possible, invitations to all major media outlets from right to left, not excluding such outlets as wpolityce.pl, Uważam Rze, or TVP Info. On the other hand, there is Polsat, TVN, WP, etc. Andrzej Duda prefers debating himself and with TVP, because he only debates when he knows the questions. And when he knows the questions, he knows the answers too. President Duda should be brave; he shouldn't be afraid to answer questions” - said Cezary Tomczyk from Civic Coalition, head of Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign team, in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24.

„We have confirmations from eight to nine editorial offices. Invitations, or rather confirmations, are steadily arriving. That's precisely the point. We are not afraid of difficult questions. It's known that every editorial office will go to great lengths to ask Rafał Trzaskowski a difficult question, because everyone is wondering about it today, but Andrzej Duda prefers to debate with himself and with TVP. This is a tragedy for democracy” - said Cezary Tomczyk, campaign manager for Rafał Trzaskowski from Civic Coalition, on TVN24.

"We are against same-sex couples adopting children, so there is no dispute in that sense. This is our final word on the matter" - said Cezary Tomczyk of Civic Coalition, the chief of staff for Rafał Trzaskowski, on TVN24.

- I am clearly stating that the Cabinet Council, which I announced immediately after the inauguration, must also address the issue of savings and potential layoffs, because today every job needs to be saved, unless that job is held by a party PiS nominee – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

- Because if difficult times are indeed looming and the government is indeed preparing for cuts, preparing for layoffs, if this is confirmed, then it requires a very serious conversation – he continued.

- I hope the President [Duda] will finally take up the challenge and meet with me today. However, if it's impossible today, I remind the President again of his words about the agreement of three television stations and other editorial offices. I am absolutely ready for it - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

- However, unfortunately, in recent days, the President and the ruling party have together begun to attack free media. And I also want to state clearly that this is unacceptable. We have heard Minister Ziobro's words and we know well that the ruling party, if, God forbid, President Duda wins the election, will prepare to attack further independent institutions. They will certainly attack local governments and independent media, which is already happening in the election campaign. I also want to clearly announce that if I become President, I will issue a firm veto on every decision that attempts to limit media freedom or the freedom of local governments - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

- The President himself spoke about an agreement between three television stations. From what we hear, both TVN and Polsat are ready for the debate, but there is no agreement from TVP, and it is the President who is the patron of TVP. I remind you of these PLN 2 billion, so I appeal to the President to persuade President Kurski to take up the challenge. If the President is not in Leszno today, then a debate of three television newsrooms should be organized, of course, possibly enriched by other newsrooms, so that we can truly, seriously talk about all the problems that Poles are talking about – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

"We all realize that the formula proposed by Rafał Trzaskowski is, to put it mildly, completely unconventional. Such debates are organized by the media, not by the campaign team of one candidate or another. By formulating this invitation, Rafał Trzaskowski knew that President Duda would have to refuse" - said Jarosław Gowin, leader of Porozumienie, in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Radio Trójka.

"This is poetic license. Election campaigns are always a time for formulating slightly sharper theses. I don't have the impression that President Duda is escalating the tone of the debate. Regardless of how one assesses the course of this campaign, after the elections, it is truly necessary, first and foremost, to finally focus exclusively on what concerns Poles today, namely the fight against the epidemic and its negative economic consequences. The process of bridging divides is very important" - said Jarosław Gowin, the leader of Porozumienie, on the air of Trójka radio.

“I do not regret [my persistence regarding the election date]. I did what was incumbent upon me. I brought about democratic, as safe as possible, elections. As Rafał Ziemkiewicz soberly noted, if the elections had been held in May, we would not be after the elections today, but after their annulment” - stated Jarosław Gowin, leader of the Agreement party, on Polish Radio Three.

“We will resolve all differences within the United Right camp after July 12th. Now, all hands on deck. We must win these elections” - he added.

- The red route, which we are initiating here today, is a very important element of expanding our port infrastructure, in the broader sense of the word. Polish ports, which taken together were smaller than a single port in Hamburg, and we are still chasing Hamburg, however, we are already very close. This shows how dynamic the development has been in recent years - said Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference at the Port of Gdynia S.A.

"I deeply regret that another staged event on TVP and another presidential rally are being prepared for us today, instead of us having a chance to talk. And not to talk about what was, what has long been settled, but to talk about what is important for all of us, which is the future" - said the candidate of Civic Coalition for President, the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

“I am reiterating my invitation to Mr. President. If not today, then not tomorrow, let us meet for an open debate organized by the three largest television stations, as you yourself wished, and other editorial offices, so that we can answer the questions of Polish women and men. Both TVN and Polsat are ready for talks. The television station to which you transferred PLN 2 billion instead of to oncology is not ready for talks. Few have such influence as you. It would be worth talking to Chairman Kurski and agreeing to a debate” - said Rafał Trzaskowski, candidate of Civic Coalition for president and the mayor of Warsaw, in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

This shows that it's not the first time foreign media owners have tried to interfere in the election campaign. Well, this is, of course, irritating and scandalous, but somehow it has become customary in Europe that some people believe they can afford to do so and do afford to do so, sometimes in a rather disgusting way, as was the case with 'Fakt', the newspaper 'Fakt'. Now I hear that a newspaper which has effectively become a party bulletin, once of the Freedom Union, now of Civic Platform, although at various times it tried to promote various new figures in politics, be it Palikot, Petru, or most recently Hołownia, well, this newspaper is now producing some leaflet and election poster, which it's including with its print run and distributing to its readers – stated Ryszard Terlecki in an interview with Łukasz A. Jankowski on Radio Wnet.

- Of course, saying that Trzaskowski is a puppet of Tusk and Budka might have some effect, but everyone knows that he is a Platforma party apparatus man, and repeating this is actually pointless - stated Ryszard Terlecki on Radio Wnet.

The President sometimes likes to joke among people with whom he spends moments of rest, saying he's tired and will retire. These are, of course, jokes, and we all greet them with laughter. What is a fact is that the time has come for internal party elections, and after the presidential elections, such elections will be held within the PiS structures, culminating in a congress, likely this autumn, perhaps in October. This statutory congress elects the president – stated Ryszard Terlecki on Radio Wnet. To say that Jarosław Kaczyński will run in the party elections is a bit of an exaggeration, because he won't so much run as he will simply be elected. No one questions his leadership, his abilities, his plans, his future prospects. There is no such opposition within the party – he continued.

- Today we know perfectly well how much equipment, fire trucks, and all sorts of additional equipment are needed to effectively perform their service, their work. That's why today, with great pleasure, I wanted to hand over promises for equipment here in Grudziądz. Promises that I am convinced will soon be serving through this equipment, which we will provide to many volunteer fire brigades - said Mateusz Morawiecki during the handover of promises for the purchase of fire trucks. 

I am pleased that I can fulfill my promise, which I made last Saturday in Szczawno-Zdrój, but above all, I am immensely pleased that I am continuing to fulfill what I set out to do from the very beginning of my presidency, and which was my goal even before I became president. To support Polish families, protect Polish children, and act so that Polish society can develop as best as possible. It is precisely for these reasons, among others, that in our country over the last 5 years, during my presidency, when the United Right has been in power, the 500+ program was created, specifically for families and children, the 300+ program, known as "Dobry start" (Good Start), a school wyprawka (school supplies package), a program for seniors was created, primarily the 13th pension, but also the 14th pension, already announced by the Prime Minister, and as I have repeated many times, I will absolutely hold him to his word. Additionally, free medications for those over 75 and for pregnant women, as well as an additional benefit for people with disabilities unable to live independently. A whole series of elements that strengthen the Polish family, make life easier, allow people to live in more dignified conditions, have fewer worries, especially those of a financial, educational, or health-related nature - stated President Andrzej Duda in the Presidential Palace.

- This draft amendment to the Constitution, which I announced and which I have just signed by way of a cover letter to the Marshal of the Sejm, as I am submitting this draft to the parliamentary clerk's office today, thus initiating what can safely be called a constitution-making initiative, because it's something more, it's the Constitution, an absolutely systemic, fundamental act, is, however, a very small change to the Constitution. It introduces fundamental provisions, fundamental regulations found in the Family Code concerning adoption, with a certain additional modification. Firstly, according to the provision I am proposing in the Polish Constitution, only a minor can be adopted, and solely for their benefit. As has been foreseen until now. But now this provision will have constitutional status. Secondly, only a marriage, defined in Article 18 of the Polish Constitution as a union of a woman and a man, can jointly adopt. And thirdly, what is added, is that a minor cannot be adopted by a person living in a cohabitation relationship with a person of the same sex. What this means, in short, is that when we are dealing with a de facto union, and we know such exist because that is life, then the court and other bodies will have an obligation to verify whether the person who wishes to adopt individually is indeed living in such a cohabitation relationship with a person of the same sex or not - stated President Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace.

- Here in Grudziądz, Nicolaus Copernicus delivered his speech against the Teutonic Grand Master. Well, I will not be delivering my grand speech against the grand master of twisting facts, but rather I will focus on the facts themselves. The facts are that our wonderful comrades are saving property, possessions, and lives in every corner of Poland almost every minute – said Mateusz Morawiecki during the presentation of grants for the purchase of fire engines. 

- We must say it clearly that these vouchers are the quintessence of something that has become entrenched in the current government. A disrespectful saying that when the government promises something twice, it's as if they've given it once. Well, they haven't given it, because distributing these vouchers is still illegal, and according to the constitution, citizens can do what is not prohibited. But the government cannot. Rulers must act within the limits of the law, and the law allowing these vouchers to be paid out has not yet been passed – said Tomasz Grodzki during a briefing in Kartuzy.

We are submitting a motion to establish a parliamentary inquiry committee to clarify irregularities related to COVID-19 procurement. It started with masks, and then it only got worse. Thanks to parliamentary interventions and independent journalists, we are learning about further situations where the State Treasury and taxpayers' money were exposed to enormous losses. We hear about nearly 1300 respirators that have not yet reached the Ministry of Health. We hear that the respirators were supposed to cost 200,000 each, while ARM made identical purchases for three times less, said PO chairman Borys Budka at a press conference in the Sejm.  The scale of irregularities that may have occurred in these procurement procedures is enormous, but so is the scale of negligence on the part of Polish services and the prosecution. To this day, we have not received any reliable information from investigators regarding how issues related to these outrageous purchases are being investigated, he added. 

“The President knows very well how his ideas for constitutional changes end. He announced a grand constitutional referendum in 2016. And what? Even his own political camp couldn’t support him. Today, this is merely an electoral maneuver intended to demonstrate great concern for the family. Where was the President when he pardoned a man convicted of pedophilia? Where was the concern for that person's family then? Does violence, economic coercion, justify such actions? Andrzej Duda is the last person who has the right to talk about changing the constitution, because he has broken it multiple times. These kinds of maneuvers show a lack of vision for Poland” – said the Civic Platform leader Borys Budka at a press conference in the Sejm.

„I can only lament that people like Ms. Mazurek represent Poland in the European Parliament. Such a choice was made. I am ashamed of these kinds of people. They have built their entire founding myth on lies. I will remind you of Macierewicz's lies, lies concerning a Poland in ruins. Today they will invent something, insulting journalists. They insult those who diligently perform their work. I wonder if Andrzej Duda will once again be summoned to the carpet by the United States ambassador, or if this will happen through diplomatic notes, or in the privacy of offices. It's not the first time this faction disgraces Poland on the international stage” – said PO chairman Borys Budka at a press conference in the Sejm. 

“The issue of district hospitals is incredibly important for all of us. Today, those in power have brought district hospitals to a real armageddon. I want to state clearly that we are in a symbolic place. President Andrzej Duda was here and promised help, that he would change the situation of the hospital in Strzelin. This conversation revolved around the idea that if there was co-financing from the local government, and when a new internal medicine department was established, there would be increased co-financing from the National Health Fund (NFZ). That was the agreement, and the president promised to help. The local government fulfilled its obligations and found one million PLN for the Strzelin hospital. Despite this, the NFZ did not fulfill its part, and the president did not help. The hospital is today facing bankruptcy and is threatened with closure” – said the Civic Coalition's candidate for president, Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, at a press conference in Strzelin.

In the latest video from Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign team, viewers get an "behind-the-scenes" look at the Trzaskowski household. Małgorzata Trzaskowska, during a family conversation at the table, recounts how she met her husband and their experience buying their first apartment, among other personal anecdotes.

Trzaskowska also outlines the issues she would like to focus on as First Lady. These include environmental protection and the fight against climate warming, influences she attributes to her upbringing in Silesia.

"The position obliges. If it can be a tool for pursuing just causes, just things, then it should be used. Otherwise, it's a waste," says Trzaskowska.

Campaign staff have recently increased Małgorzata Trzaskowska's public activity. Over the past weekend in Silesia, she spoke, among other things, about the need to introduce pension supplements for mothers.

- If such a person who wants to adopt a child is in a relationship with a person of the same sex, a relationship of common life, then it is unacceptable precisely because of the child's best interests, which were mentioned earlier. This is the state's responsibility for children, and I believe this provision should be introduced into the constitution. I hope that not only MPs and senators of the United Right in the Polish parliament will support this initiative, but also MPs and senators of the PSL, MPs of Konfederacja, and at least some MPs of PO will support it. Why? Because they have always declared themselves as being against homosexual couples adopting. I am also against it and want it to be expressed clearly and explicitly in the constitution - said President Andrzej Duda in Starachowice.

- We are smoothly navigating the coronavirus pandemic. And from a health perspective, because we have very few deaths in Poland, owing to the fact that the government pursued a bold and effective policy. A policy that protected people. It was a bold policy. After all, we practically shut down our economy. But thanks to this, we had 30 times fewer deaths per million inhabitants related to coronavirus than in Italy, 20 times fewer than in Spain. 8 times fewer than in wealthy and highly developed Switzerland. 6 times fewer than in Germany. This was, and remains, an effective policy - said President Andrzej Duda in Starachowice.

• Prime Minister on the question of accumulating emotions in the campaign, whether pandemic-traumatized Poles need it: "Trzaskowski is not interested in specifics, only in managing emotions, mainly negative ones. Unfortunately, such an approach always leads to a toxic culmination, and that's what I expect this week."
• Morawiecki on the question of whether the ruling party's campaign tone isn't too confrontational: "It's a decision whether we want an ambitious Poland, a Poland of great projects, a secure Poland with a strong alliance with the United States, or a Poland in the style of Civic Platform, meaning a Poland subservient to all stronger powers."
• Prime Minister contrasts the alliance with the USA with the policy of his predecessors, which he depicts as follows: "For me, PO's Poland is a country whose leaders, instead of standing by the US President, prefer to stroll on the Sopot pier with the President of Russia, and their Foreign Minister organizes a briefing for the Republic of Poland's ambassadors with the minister of a foreign state hostile towards us."
• Prime Minister on the question of whether the President's words do not expel minorities from the community: "We must clearly distinguish between an ideological movement with specific social postulates and political goals, and individuals with specific sexual preferences. Despite differences in views, values, or sexual orientation, we are all united by a common homeland. We believe that a person's sexual preferences belong to their private sphere and we oppose attempts to ideologize this issue."
• Prime Minister defines the mentality of his rivals as follows: "The source of this thinking is looking at Poland solely through the prism of luxury housing estates in Powiśle or Wilanów. But Poland is not just the town of Wilanów."

We are talking with the Prime Minister in Szczytno, as he begins his tour of further districts in the morning.

300POLITYKA: Hooks, accumulation of emotions, or pandemic-traumatized Poles – can they feel that this campaign is for them, or is it at a meta-level, for the political class by the political class?

PRIME MINISTER MATEUSZ MORAWIECKI: It's enough to take a moment to look at Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign to see that the foundation of his strategy is the old principle of "anti-PiS." Building a narrative on negative emotions clearly sufficed him, as he announced his program almost a day before the first round of elections. Perhaps so that no one would read it and have time to criticize it? Or perhaps because he is not interested in specifics, but only in managing emotions, mainly negative ones? Unfortunately, such an approach always leads to a toxic culmination, and that's what I expect this week.

And wasn't it President Duda who introduced such radical emotions and confrontation into this campaign?

A presidential race always involves confrontation. The question is: in what style is this confrontation approached, and what is its true stake. The choice between President Andrzej Duda and Civic Platform candidate Rafał Trzaskowski is a decision whether we want an ambitious Poland, a Poland of great projects, a secure Poland with a strong alliance with the United States, or a Poland in the style of Civic Platform, meaning a Poland subservient to all stronger powers. For me, PO's Poland is a country whose leaders, instead of standing by the US President, prefer to stroll on the Sopot pier with the President of Russia, and their Foreign Minister organizes a briefing for the Republic of Poland's ambassadors with the minister of a foreign state hostile towards us. The choice between Andrzej Duda and Rafał Trzaskowski is a choice between a decade of great investments and – unfortunately – a term of dismantling everything that has been achieved in Poland over the last 5 years and what is planned for the coming years. It is clearly visible that the stakes are too high to avoid confrontation.

Only that avoiding the debate is precisely the accusation against the President. It was Andrzej Duda's campaign staff that rejected the possibility of participating in a debate organized by TVN, TVN24, Onet, and WP…

It seems to be the first time that a group of commercial, mainly foreign media, without any prior consultation with the campaign teams, has set a deadline and conditions for a debate for the incumbent president. This is an unprecedented practice. In this situation, President Andrzej Duda proposed a wise compromise by presenting the idea of a debate organized by the three largest national television stations. This was a designation of a reasonable and fair path, which, however, Rafał Trzaskowski did not want to follow. 

And how did the dispute over LGBT become the leading theme of this year's campaign? The President's words stirred public opinion; many people might have felt excluded from the community…

First of all, it must be said honestly that the President's words were taken out of context, misinterpreted, and used to inflame tensions in Polish society. We must clearly distinguish between an ideological movement with specific social postulates and political goals, and individuals with specific sexual preferences. It was precisely these ideological impulses that the President opposed, which is confirmed by his announced change in educational law, requiring parental consent for the activities of any organizations in schools. Furthermore, in the past, the President has repeatedly emphasized that everyone in Poland deserves respect. And despite differences in views, values, or sexual orientation, we are all united by a common homeland. We believe that a person's sexual preferences belong to their private sphere and we oppose attempts to ideologize this issue.

And don't you think that Poles have had enough of ideological wars?

Of course! Poles want to finally breathe a sigh of relief from this constant scaremongering and scandalizing. Especially now – as we are slowly rebuilding our strength after an extremely engaging fight against the pandemic and the economic crisis that arose as a result of the pandemic. Today, Poles primarily desire peace, stability, and secure development. And this is precisely what is guaranteed to them by a president who focuses on ambitious investments. After all, CPK or the Vistula Spit canal are not just one-off infrastructure projects. They also mean thousands of new jobs, a great magnet for business partners, and an unprecedented civilizational leap occurring, for example, through the expansion of high-speed rail networks practically throughout Poland. Why is Rafał Trzaskowski so insistent on eliminating them? I have no idea, but I suspect that the source of this thinking is looking at Poland solely through the prism of luxury housing estates in Powiśle or Wilanów. But Poland is not just the town of Wilanów.

Since the Prime Minister mentioned the pandemic… Due to the campaign, it has essentially become a secondary issue. Does this mean we should forget about the coronavirus and just go vote? Many commentators say this is playing with fire.

We must not forget about the coronavirus in any way, as we will likely have to deal with it for many more months. However, as a society and an economy, we must function in this "new normal" – of course, while observing appropriate precautions. Thanks to appropriate decisions and the efforts of services across the country, the epidemiological situation is stabilized. We have slowed down the pace of new infections, and every day we have more recoveries. Suffice it to say that our response to the coronavirus has been appreciated by the WHO. In turn, the OSCE positively assessed the preparation of the first round of elections in terms of ensuring sanitary safety. No wonder – after all, every polling station was equipped with disinfectant, appropriate limits on the number of people inside were enforced, rooms were constantly ventilated, and appropriate distances were maintained. Thanks to the measures taken, visiting a polling station was even safer than daily shopping. It will be exactly the same on July 12th.

You are very involved in the President's campaign. We are meeting in Szczytno, and according to RZ, you are to visit 100 districts. You are traveling all over Poland, handing out grant agreements from the Local Government Investment Fund to successive local governments. Do you believe that you will convince local government officials to support Andrzej Duda in this way?

As Prime Minister, I strive to ensure that our entire government is close to the people. That is why I have made regular meetings with residents from all regions of Poland my personal mission. This is especially important now – when we have been affected by the pandemic, earlier by drought, and now by floods. I believe that politicians should not lock themselves away in the Sejm. In such times, one must be close to everyday matters. The Government Local Government Investment Fund is dedicated precisely to these Polish matters. Initiated by President Andrzej Duda, it is today a great impulse for development for Polish cities, towns, and villages. It must be said clearly – this is a real shield for local governments worth PLN 6 billion. Each local government will receive from PLN 0.5 million to even PLN 93 million. I want to be understood correctly: this is not about convincing local government officials. This is about enabling them to return to the path of development with momentum from the economic crisis. Instead of dividing Poland into Poland A and Poland B, we prefer to divide funds for investments. 

Investments are, however, the future, but please point to one significant success in recent times that would argue for President Duda.

There are several – from the abolition of visas by the USA, which has a purely practical dimension besides its symbolism, to Gazprom returning PLN 6 billion in overpayments for gas purchased from Russia to Poland. The prices paid for Russian gas under the Yamal contract were too high and non-market. And now, thanks to effective negotiations and concern for Polish interests, this money has already been credited to PGNiG's account. The Yamal contract was for years a shameful symbol of Poland's dependence on Russian gas. Fortunately, today gas also flows to Poland from the USA, Qatar, and Norway. At the forefront of this change is President Andrzej Duda, who from the very beginning was a staunch advocate of diversifying gas supplies. A flagship example is the expansion of the gas terminal in Świnoujście and the project for a similar facility in Gdynia. Therefore, the won arbitration is only the first step. The second step will be to invest these funds in the Polish economy, in companies, and in Polish employees.

Rafał Trzaskowski had a conversation with Szymon Hołownia, whose style may appeal to many voters. In recent days, he announced a tax reduction from 23% to 22%. Aren't you afraid that Trzaskowski's campaign team will thus grab voters closer to the center?

If I fear anything, it is that centrist voters will simply be deceived. After all, with each passing day of Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign, we know less and less about him. Who is he really? What does he really think? One day he gives his patronage and participates in the Equality Parade, and then he says he is a supporter of the Independence March. He assures that he will not raise the retirement age, but when he had the opportunity to vote for its reduction – he was against it. He claims he was never a political activist, although he is the vice-chairman of Civic Platform, and in the past, he was part of Donald Tusk's government and was also a Member of the European Parliament. Which Rafał Trzaskowski is the real one? Which one speaks the truth, and which one lies? Soon, few will be able to keep up. There was once a Woody Allen film titled Zelig. When voting on July 12th, we must ask ourselves one fundamental question. Are we fighting for who will live in the Presidential Palace? Or are we fighting for the future of Poland? Let's think about it. And let's choose the president of Polish affairs. I choose Andrzej Duda.

- Unemployment in our country is low. Much lower than it was in 2015, when the Civic Platform government was ending, whose vice-chairman is today my competitor, Mr. Rafał Trzaskowski. It is this party that wants to return to power, which is why it fights so hard. But it is harmful to Poland, because they have already shown what they can do for eight years. And unfortunately, I'm very sorry, but besides supporting narrow groups, they can't do anything. They couldn't do anything positive for the ordinary person - said President Andrzej Duda in Mniów.

- In the evening, when [Rafał Trzaskowski] looks in the mirror, he doesn't recognize the same guy he saw in the morning. It's some other fellow. – In order to make a choice, and I always go to the polls and always make choices, I don't cast invalid votes. Not wanting to choose Andrzej Duda, I have no choice. - As long as the situation is such that I hear equally often during the day why I supported Trzaskowski and why I didn't support Trzaskowski, I believe I am in the right place, which is in the very center between two warring tribes. My task now is to build such a shop and such a stall of civic values so that both sides, tired of fighting, begin to slowly come over – said Szymon Hołownia on Polsat News.

- The worst election outcome imaginable today would be one where candidates are separated by 20-30 thousand votes, election protests erupt – because they will, due to delayed mail deliveries, people being unable to vote abroad, and so on. - Freedom of speech exists in Poland. It is legally guaranteed, and fortunately, there is also a great sense of the need for freedom of speech among young people. When PO wanted to introduce ACTA in Poland, those protests, in which young people participated en masse, clearly showed that there was no consent from Polish society, and above all, there was no consent from young people. Later, there was another attempt in the European Parliament, PO, within the EPP, supported the so-called ACTA2. We, as United Right, were against it. I am generally against it. When I was still an opposition MP, I greatly valued the fact that I could start using what was then a relatively new way of communicating, which was Twitter; it was around 2010/2011. I was probably one of the first Polish politicians to use Twitter. I didn't have such contact with the media back then, I wasn't such an advanced politician yet, but I wanted to speak up and say what I thought and what I believed I was allowed to say about my views, my perception of Poland, its situation, and politics. And I could do it thanks to Twitter. And I still value it highly today. I enjoy expressing myself on Twitter, and that's why I am against restricting freedom of speech – stated President Andrzej Duda during the presidential debate on TVP.

We are a member of the EU today, and entrepreneurs from other countries have the right to provide services here too. They participate in tenders and win these tenders. The issue is simply that once they win, their operations should be well supervised, so that situations like the recent terrible bus accident in Warsaw do not occur. I tremble whenever I hear that PiS wants to touch the constitution, because recently they have been breaking this constitution above all else. If the President is so brave as to acknowledge motions for same-sex unions to actually be written into the constitution, that is quite bold. I don't know if that's exactly what he intended to do, but that will probably be the outcome. However, I say this clearly. First and foremost, partnership unions. I have spoken about this clearly from the very beginning, much earlier than some politicians in the political center in Poland had the courage to talk about it - said Rafał Trzaskowski during the "Presidential Arena."

Regarding the vaccine. I am absolutely not a supporter of any mandatory vaccinations. I will tell you openly. Personally, I have never been vaccinated against the flu because I believe not to. Of course, I had various vaccinations as a child and later as a growing boy, but I have never been vaccinated against the flu and I do not want to be vaccinated, and I believe that coronavirus vaccinations absolutely should not be mandatory. Please, whoever wants to, if there is a vaccine, let them get vaccinated, but whoever doesn't want to, that is their personal decision. However, I believe that whether it is a medicine or a vaccine, it should be available first and foremost for seniors, because they are indeed the group at greatest risk, and it should be available free of charge. That is my opinion - stated President Andrzej Duda during the presidential TVP debate.
