„Today, he is appealing precisely to those voters [who cast their ballots for other opposition candidates in the first round]. He is doing so effectively enough that Andrzej Duda has become frightened and is fleeing the debate with Rafał Trzaskowski. He is fleeing it precisely because Trzaskowski is today the candidate of not so much the opposition, but of the civic dissent against the PiS government. Today Trzaskowski is this type of leader, and PiS was ready to fight Trzaskowski as the leader of PO, because PiS has been fighting PO, unfortunately effectively, for 5 years. To that extent, PiS has completely misjudged the situation when Trzaskowski became the leader of the civic dissent” - said the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Michał Kamiński from PSL-Koalicja Polska, in a conversation with Karolina Lewicka on Poranek Radia TOK FM.

- Indeed, for several weeks, since the coronavirus appeared in Europe, support for increasing spending on agricultural policy has been significantly higher. This means that the negative experiences felt by Europe, related to the disruption of supply chains in various areas of the European economy, have brought about some reflection that it is worth investing locally – said Piotr Müller in Poranek Siódma9.

- I think that what divides me and Rafał Trzaskowski, a member of PO, was best expressed on election night on Sunday. The President spoke, thanked other counter-candidates, spoke about how important cooperation is. Moreover, the things that unite us are also things that divide us, but we can talk, propose joint initiatives, initiatives that are primarily good for Poland. On the other hand, we had Rafał Trzaskowski, who strongly attacked various circles, who strongly divided Polish society. So this is the difference in approach represented on the one hand by President Duda and on the other by Rafał Trzaskowski, vice-chairman of PO, and indeed Borys Budka's deputy - stated Błażej Spychalski on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

- Rafał Trzaskowski is unbelievable in these statements. Today he plays the part of someone who claims he will lower taxes or block their increases, when he himself was in a government that specialized in raising taxes. It specialized in the fact that this government, that the VAT gap was not noticed, that billions of zlotys were allowed to be stolen, which flowed out of the state budget – said Piotr Müller on the Poranek Siódma9 program.

- Confederation politicians were invited to the Presidential Palace by President Duda earlier; various discussions were held. Politics also involves politicians needing to be credible. President Duda held numerous talks with Confederation circles; Mr. Bosak, for instance, was invited to a National Security Council meeting - stated Błażej Spychalski on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

- But there is still no problem on the president's side. I think the issue here lies more with the agreement between these various television stations, because you mentioned two, and there is a third one, and it is quite telling that TVN refused to hold the debate, also inviting this third television station to the formula - stated Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- On your lands, especially where the railway network was once very dense, it is so keenly felt how many railway lines and how many connections have been liquidated. This is being restored today. This is a policy of revitalizing these areas. Especially those that suffered as a result of the liquidation of State Agricultural Farms. This terrible crime that was committed on this land. I do not hesitate to call it a crime, because you, who live here, know best what happened when it occurred. What a tragedy it led to. How many people died because of it. How many people lost their will to live, and how many wounds have not been fully healed to this day - said President Andrzej Duda in Łobze.

- This is the natural logic in a democracy, the natural logic that a president's second term, and I'm not just talking about the President of Poland, but the office of president universally, wherever there is a second term, there is also greater independence. This does not mean that any confrontation should be expected between President Duda and the United Right camp - stated Jarosław Gowin on Radio Plus. - I wouldn't say such a need exists. In my assessment, in this concluding presidential term as well, Andrzej Duda was a truly independent head of state safeguarding the public interest - he continued.

- Over these five years, from 2015, the number of people in our country living in extreme poverty has decreased by 1.2 million. Today, the fewest people in our history are living in extreme poverty in Poland. These are facts, and these are the results of the last five years. Ladies and gentlemen, I want this policy to continue. A policy of bold investments and caring for people, not a policy of scarcity and caring only for the elite. Not a policy of stuffing the pockets of the Warsaw elite, the so-called 'Warsaw' crowd, meaning a group of prominent wealthy individuals who have often enriched themselves at the expense of the rest of society - said President Andrzej Duda in Łobez. 

“For me, it is absolutely clear that the future president can only have one boss, and that is the citizens. We know what Andrzej Duda’s partisan presidency has led to, which unfortunately is absolutely subordinate to only one political party. For me, of course, it is clear that the president, at the moment of taking the oath, cannot belong to any party. This is a tradition that has long been in place in Poland. I want to introduce another principle – the non-partisanship of the Presidential Chancellery. Certainly, people associated with many different environments will work in the KPRP. Certainly, specialists and social activists as well, however, anyone who, at the moment of taking the oath, is a member of a political party and is appointed to the Chancellery will have to resign their party membership card” – said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition’s presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw, at a press conference.  

„I hear a PiS rally is being organized in Końskie with public funds. This is an appeal to the President not to organize such rallies with public money and to engage in a real debate. I've already been on TVP and seen what that debate looks like – questions that have nothing to do with today's reality, with the problems of Poles today. Poles simply deserve a real debate, not another rigged event on TVP. I appeal to you, Mr. President, to engage in a real debate” - said Rafał Trzaskowski, the KO candidate for president and Mayor of Warsaw, at a press conference.  

I am not surprised by this support, because from the very beginning I had the impression that Szymon Hołownia's movement was somewhat constructed, that it was an idea to build a future coalition partner for Civic Platform. Whether Szymon Hołownia will manage to maintain this movement until the elections in 2023 - that seems extremely difficult to me - stated Jarosław Gowin in Radio Plus.

I don't know if that was Szymon Hołownia's own calculation, but behind his candidacy are circles that are undoubtedly much closer, even very close, to Civic Platform. On the other hand, there are voters, the voters of all candidates, and voters are not a sack of potatoes that can be moved from one cellar to another. The voters of each candidate make decisions based on their own understanding of the situation. I think Szymon Hołownia's electorate is very diverse. There are at least three different groups there. There are strongly left-liberal voters. They are certainly close to Rafał Trzaskowski, but there is also a significant group of former Paweł Kukiz voters, meaning anti-system voters. Will they be able to find motivation to vote for Rafał Trzaskowski? I'm not sure. And finally, there is the third group. These are voters who moved to Szymon Hołownia from Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Moderate, centrist-right, discouraged by both Civic Platform and PiS. Will these voters vote for such a left-wing candidate as Rafał Trzaskowski? That seems very doubtful to me - he continued.

- The Civic Coalition, at the next Sejm session, will move to enact three specific laws that fulfill Andrzej Duda's promises from 5 years ago. These laws will serve as a benchmark and a test of credibility for Andrzej Duda. For 5 years, while Andrzej Duda had the opportunity to serve his presidency in a comfortable situation, key campaign promises were not fulfilled. Today, President Duda, making further promises, should account for what he has not yet delivered. The Civic Coalition wants to help him in this. We will demand from the Marshal of the Sejm that these three draft laws be placed on the agenda and adopted next week, so that the parliamentary majority can show whether President Duda is credible in his subsequent promises or not - stated Borys Budka at a press briefing in the Sejm. The Civic Coalition's proposals concern VAT reduction, an increase in the tax-free allowance, and the issue of mortgage borrowers in Swiss francs.

- We managed to survive the coronavirus epidemic. Thanks to courage and determination, we introduced anti-crisis shields. One only needs to compare this crisis, which has affected us now, with the one from 2008. How were entrepreneurs treated then, how many entrepreneurs collapsed then, how many people lost their jobs, how many people had to leave the country - said President Andrzej Duda in Stargard Szczeciński.

- We must once again say "goodbye", we have had enough of those who raised the retirement age in Poland. Enough. Goodbye. Never again let them seize power in Poland. Never again. For what purpose? To allow 50 billion PLN of VAT to be stolen annually? Is that why they want to grab power? So that someone can rob us again? No. We say "no" to thieves and those who aided thieves - said President Andrzej Duda in Stargard Szczeciński.

- I want to continue pursuing a policy for people, for families in Poland. To defend families, to defend children. To defend children, that which is most important to us. To build Poland for future generations. And not to defend some elite, some Warsaw salon, so they can pursue their own little interests – said President Andrzej Duda in Stargard Szczeciński. 

• Here is good news. The situation is stabilizing. It is stabilizing in a most positive sense. There are fewer and fewer cases in the trend. Even fewer deaths. This makes me particularly happy. It is now a disease, one could say, like any other. We are just waiting for a vaccine. I think that in a few months someone in the world will find it, because a lot of money has gone into its development - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Wysokie Mazowieckie.

We need President Duda, not someone who throws a spanner in the works, not unreliable individuals. People who change their minds like gloves. And that is why I am also appealing to those who did not vote for President Duda in the first round. Let's vote for stable development, a swift exit from the crisis. What is happening, what the European Commission is observing. Let's support a model of development that is fair, not turbo-liberal – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Wysokie Mazowieckie.

„The video shows MP Sławomir Nitras, in his typical style, accosting, attacking, and provoking a group of people, voters who do not share his views. We hear the voices of women asking him not to accost or provoke them. This is what we want to address. We want to appeal to Rafał Trzaskowski, to ask him if he accepts political thuggery, because that is how such behavior should be described. Will Rafał Trzaskowski find enough courage and strength to stop his circle, his campaign staff, collaborators, and also his supporters from aggression and hatred towards those who hold different views? Does Rafał Trzaskowski understand the essence of democracy? Democracy is the pluralism of views, giving every citizen the opportunity to express their opinions and views, but also to actively participate in the election campaign” - stated PiS spokeswoman Anita Czerwińska at a press conference.

„We believe the destruction of [Andrzej Duda's] election materials is happening because there is tacit approval among Rafał Trzaskowski's closest collaborators for this type of action” - added Andrzej Duda's campaign spokesman, MEP Adam Bielan.

„In the second round, it is a choice of what Poland will be like in the future, and this is in the long-term perspective, what this Poland will be like for our children. In this situation, it would be very difficult for any political group, especially a conservative, conservative-liberal one, to stand aside and not make a decision about what vision of Poland they would like to see realized. The Union of Real Politics has many elements in common with President Duda's policy. We have considered all common elements. The Main Council of the UPR unanimously decided to support President Duda's candidacy in the second round of the presidential elections. We are standing on the President's side” - said UPR President Bartosz Jóźwiak at a press conference at PiS headquarters. 

- We will be implementing these large investments. They will be carried out by Polish and foreign companies, but the Polish state will also be involved in their implementation. As I said. Ladies and gentlemen, we will be implementing all investments. Not like my competition says, that we should abandon large investments and focus on small ones. No. We need to do both. Enough of shoddy work - said President Andrzej Duda in Myślibórz.

- I am, ladies and gentlemen, a guarantee that everything created so far, especially for the Polish family, this multi-generational one, from the youngest, through parents, to seniors, that all of this will remain, will be maintained. It will not be taken away. It will not be changed for the worse. I guarantee this, because I will not agree to any such changes - said President Andrzej Duda in Myślibórz.

- We had two Polands. The Poland of Civic Platform and the Poland of the last five years. This Poland of Civic Platform is a Poland of broken election promises, it's a Poland of harm to citizens, of raising the retirement age, of raising VAT. I want a Poland of support for families, of honest politics focused on people - said President Andrzej Duda in Myślibórz. 

„I have a very simple message for Andrzej Duda's campaign team. A debate – yes. Mr. President, please do not be a coward, please do not shy away from settling accounts with Poles regarding the promises you made. There are plenty of questions that need answers. This debate is necessary to account for the 5 years of your presidency. A presidency that was politicized, associated with one political party, which we have seen over the last 5 years. A presidency that is, in fact, a symbol of how a president should not act” – said Cezary Tomczyk from Civic Coalition, head of Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign team, at a press conference.

„We stand firm on the position that a debate between three television stations must take place. Today, the only television station that refuses to agree to such a debate is TVP, which is, in fact, a propaganda mouthpiece for one political party. Such a debate must happen” – he added.

According to information from 300POLITYKA, during his Thursday visit to Sulęcin (where broadband internet has been successfully brought to almost every home), President Andrzej Duda is set to sign the "Charter of Online Freedom". Among the provisions of the charter are: fiber optic cables to every home in Poland, opposition to the EU's ACTA 2 directive, full digitization of e-administration, extensive computerization of schools in Poland, and no approval for a smartphone tax.

President Duda's team has assessed that the issue of online freedom is problematic for Rafał Trzaskowski, who is associated with the artistic community and ZAIKS (the Polish Society of Authors and Composers), hence the appeal to the sentiment of libertarians and internet users.

Unfortunately, we live in an era of climate catastrophe. The weather is constantly changing; one moment we have drought, the next heavy rains. Therefore, investments are needed. That is why we are here in Warsaw, where one of the largest retention basins in Europe is being built. It has been constructed, and acceptance procedures are currently underway – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference. This is, as I mentioned, one of the largest investments of its kind in Europe. It cost 100 million PLN. Acceptance procedures are currently underway, and the basin is already being tested. We hope that within the coming weeks and months, it will be able to be put into full operation, and thanks to it, it will be able to respond to situations like those which are unfortunately increasing due to global warming. Therefore, it is very important to state clearly that global warming, the climate crisis, and the fight against all these effects that we observe daily must be the absolute priority of the President of the Republic of Poland. Unfortunately, the PiS government is turning away from this challenge – added the Mayor of Warsaw.

- On this occasion, I want to mention an issue related to what is happening in Podkarpacie. Unfortunately, in recent years, the PiS government has not invested in flood protection. Funds have dwindled, and drastically so in these last few years. Currently, the phenomena we are observing have also brought consequences to Podkarpacie, and therefore, within the Union of Polish Metropolises, we have decided to allocate funds for the most needy municipalities - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference.

- There was an initiative by PiS councillors to allocate an additional 100,000 PLN for aid in Podkarpacie. I, of course, agreed with this initiative. Consequently, we have a very good example of this new solidarity - he added.

- I believe that freedom of expression online is fundamentally important, as is freedom of creation online. That is why we have decided to prepare something we have called the "Charter of Online Freedom," which is a significant element of my program for, I deeply believe, with your support, the next 5 years of my presidency. First and foremost, the essential matter. What Minister [Buk] just spoke about - freedom, freedom, and yet more freedom. I, who for many years was a member of the opposition, a politician who often had difficulty gaining access to mainstream media, know best the value of the internet as a space where you can speak calmly, freely, truly say what you want, express your opinion, and share that opinion with others. That is why I will never allow anyone to censor online speech, to allow anyone to sieve these statements according to undetermined criteria, criteria not universally known, to select which statements, in their opinion, can exist in the digital, internet space, and which should be removed. This is precisely what we must care for, because this care for the space of freedom is fundamentally important, also for the constitutional right to freedom, the realization of which is one of the foundations of democracy - stated President Andrzej Duda in Sulęcin.

- Just as it is written here, in this charter, among its postulates, above all, internet for everyone. Today, the construction of the educational network is coming to an end. In fact, the last schools will be connected to the educational network this year. Here, in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, over 500 schools are connected to the network. What is important? At the moment a school is connected to the educational network, it is equipped with broadband internet via fiber optic cable. At this point, it does not incur costs associated with using the internet. This is very important. These costs do not burden the municipality. What does this mean? The costs are borne equally throughout the country by the State Treasury, meaning every child attending such a school is guaranteed equal access - PAD continued.

- The next stage is fiber optics and internet available for everyone, meaning available for every home, every apartment. Each of us will have such broadband internet, and I believe that within the next 5 years we will manage to implement this internet for everyone program - the president emphasized.

- Of course, there is no option that I would agree to mobile devices, such as smartphones or tablets, being subjected to any kind of tax, regardless of whether someone uses specific software or not, because it would ultimately lead to an increase in their prices and a limitation of their accessibility. In my opinion, this is unfair and dishonest. It cannot be that a fee for some services or the use of copyright will be included in the price of every smartphone, in a situation where a given person might not necessarily want to use these rights at all. In my opinion, this limits access to these devices, and consequently also limits access to the possibility of using the internet - stated President Andrzej Duda in Sulęcin.

As we hear, Health Minister Łukasz Szumowski is heading to a hospital in Łódź, where he will participate in a crisis staff meeting concerning assistance to those injured, alongside the Łódź Voivode Tobiasz Adam Bocheński. Our sources emphasize that the individual most severely injured in today's accident in Bogusławice is currently being treated at the hospital in Łódź.

- I think, Mr. Editor, that when I speak of the 'Warszawka' salon, public opinion in Poland rather precisely knows what I mean, that there is a group of various celebrities from different circles who constitute this elite of the 'Warszawka' salon, so I think that is how Poles see it, and that is why I used such a formulation, the so-called 'Warszawka'. In Warsaw and in big cities, everyone knows what it means - said President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program 'Gość Wydarzeń' on Polsat News.

- Someone might mention the so-called 'Krakówek' you come from - stated the journalist.

- I come from Krakow's intelligentsia. I do not come from 'Krakówek', Mr. Editor. 'Krakówek' rather does not vote for me - the President replied.

- I welcome viewers at home, although frankly, at this time I would prefer to watch a real debate on your station, where President Duda wouldn't know the questions beforehand, where it would be a thorough, honest, true debate. It's a shame it didn't happen. Recently, this trend of avoiding debates has become fashionable, because no one came to the Senate for a debate on the state of public finances, and today no one from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs came to the Senate regarding difficulties with voting abroad. This is not a good tradition; debate is the essence of democracy - said the Marshal of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki.

If Rafał Trzaskowski runs to a station that supports him on a daily basis, a private one at that, and additionally one that has a foreign owner, and together with that station they dictate to me as president, but also as a candidate in the election, when I should come for a debate and where, that is a complete breach of all conventions that have existed so far. Perhaps it's because Rafał Trzaskowski doesn't know what the political conventions are, but up until now, they were such that if someone wanted to organize a debate, they would first ask the campaign staffs and candidates if they agreed to a debate at a certain time, so that they could prepare, plan it in the context of running a campaign. It was simply a peculiar kind of attack. I responded to this attack very calmly. It's not the case that one private station will manage things as if it were almost candidate Trzaskowski's campaign staff, dictating that the debate should take place there and at a specific time, and that only its viewers and those stations and media that are friendly to them will see this debate. No, we have three major, large television stations in Poland, each with its own viewers. The point is that all Poles should be able to see the debate, and that's why I said: the debate should be organized jointly by the three largest television stations, which will also allow other media interested in it to participate, so that every Pole, every voter can watch this debate. So that there are no accusations that it is biased to some extent, that the questions are biased, so that everything is agreed upon between the campaign staffs and the debate organizers, and a civilized presidential debate, like those held all over the world, like global standards, that's how I imagine we should have one in our country - stated President Andrzej Duda in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

- I am absolutely not bothered by difference and otherness. I do not pay any attention to how my neighbors live, who my neighbors are. As long as these neighbors do not start behaving in a provocative manner and do not try to impose themselves in some way through their behavior. I believe that whatever their preferences are, what they like, if they realize it within the four walls of their home, if they treat it as their private matter, then it is their private affair and none of my business - said President Andrzej Duda in Polsat News.

"I deeply regret the absence of President Andrzej Duda. We agreed on a debate. The President does not wish to engage in this debate on open terms, where he does not know the questions. All along, he has only agreed to staged encounters. He refuses to allow for the exchange of genuine thoughts, to be asked open-ended questions. The President has chickened out," said Rafał Trzaskowski, candidate for President of the Republic of Poland from Civic Coalition and Mayor of Warsaw, in an interview with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

"I agree that we must go to these elections and I urge everyone to do so, because these elections will decide the future of Poland, they will decide whether we will have a real change, and the majority of Polish women and men have opted for change, but it is the Prime Minister who has all the instruments to say whether the coronavirus has truly ended or not. The government is constantly wavering" - said Rafał Trzaskowski, candidate of Civic Coalition for president and Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, on TVN24.

- I had here the consistent stance of the victim, who requested that this pardon take place, that this restraining order be lifted entirely. Incidentally, this restraining order was already nearing its end, but she asked for it to be lifted, so that's the first point. Secondly, there was a favorable, absolutely unequivocal stance from two court instances, which were in favour of this pardon, as well as the Prosecutor General, who also spoke in favour of a pardon in this matter – said President Andrzej Duda on Polsat News.

"The majority of voters decided they want the Senate in the hands of the opposition, whether anyone likes it or not. This fact cannot be denied, which is why we will appeal for embarrassing situations not to occur," said Senate Marshal Tomasz Grodzki in FpF.

- If TVN first wants to organize a debate for Mr. Trzaskowski, makes an agreement with him, demands that I appear for a debate, and now, when there is a proposal to hold a debate together and organize it jointly on fair terms, it refuses to do so, this unequivocally shows what the intentions were. Both of Mr. Trzaskowski's campaign team and that private foreign television station - stated President Andrzej Duda in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- There are groups and former candidates who, in many respects, held views very close to mine on the most important Polish matters. Of course, we differ on various details, and they may evaluate me differently. It is also known that every group that wants to be relevant on the political scene must field its own candidate and will encourage its members and supporters to vote for them. However, I have views towards at least several candidates who ran in these elections. I am calm - said President Andrzej Duda in Polsat News.

- The conditions must be clearly established, and this is determined between the campaign teams.
