- Let's look at the facts. At this moment, we have two candidates. We have Andrzej Duda and Rafał Trzaskowski when it comes to the second round. One can only choose from these two candidates. Therefore, a voter who cast a ballot for Krzysztof Bosak or Szymon Hołownia must ask themselves whether they prefer to choose this element of cooperation within the government, or rather conflict between the president and the government - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- I consistently strived for democratic elections to be held in Poland, and Poland's democracy is the biggest winner of this first round - stated Jarosław Gowin on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

As with many other journalists, you did not finish the sentence I uttered on Friday. The meaning was such, and that was the conclusion, that every democratic verdict must be respected, and that is true. However, for me, there is no doubt that Rafał Trzaskowski's potential victory will mean an escalation of the 'war at the top.' Andrzej Duda's victory will mean 3 years of stability, which we need in order to fight the epidemic and its economic consequences – stated Jarosław Gowin on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

– Rafał Trzaskowski would be a president, I hope this doesn't happen, whose aim would be to overthrow the United Right government. „This is certainly a very good starting position for President Andrzej Duda before the second round of elections, but it must also be stated very clearly that these elections are not yet decided, and truly nothing is yet predetermined. A debate is being organized by television, by online portals for Thursday. I hope that President Andrzej Duda will take part in this debate, because today we have so many problems to solve that we need to talk. I think everyone who is running, aspiring to the office of President of the Republic of Poland, must take up this challenge - said Rafał Trzaskowski in Tczew. I will, of course, participate in this debate and I am, of course, addressing the President. I appeared on TVP, even though I expected what that debate would look like. The main criticism of the debate on TVP is one: diversionary tactics. Today, we must organize a debate in which we will talk about real problems - he added.

There were numerous problems with voting abroad. Recently, there were server issues. Therefore, a clear appeal to the ministry to extend the registration period by 24 hours for all those who wish to vote and are outside the territory of Poland – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Tczew.

300polityka was the first to see Rafał Trzaskowski's latest promotional video, in which the campaign team outlines the candidate's vision for Poland. The campaign team used fragments of the President of Warsaw's speech from Wrocław.

Simultaneously with Trzaskowski, his voters deliver individual sentences. The image is divided into two parts. Trzaskowski occupies the larger portion, while individual supporters take up the smaller one. The campaign team strives to showcase a broad spectrum of voters: from children, young people, through individuals with disabilities, ethnic and national minorities (Silesians and Kashubians), users of sign language, professional groups (teachers), to seniors.

The leitmotif of the video is the declaration "I believe in Poland," which Trzaskowski and the voters then expand upon. Together, they speak of a Poland that "is one for all, with equal opportunities, free from lies, where there are no better and worse, equal and more equal, where the stronger help the weaker, in a Poland within the European Union."

"It's high time to change Poland," say the voters, and Trzaskowski adds that "we will do it together." In the second part, supporters introduce themselves (by first name or full name) and explain the reasons why they will vote for Trzaskowski.

This is the first video to appear before the second round of the presidential elections. Trzaskowski's associates declare that before the electoral runoff, the candidate is entering a new phase of the campaign, of which this video is one element. There is no concrete implementation of the program for Silesia. It turned out to be empty promises. Instead of tens of billions of zlotys that were supposed to be pumped into the Silesian voivodeship, symbolic sites remain, such as the unrealized train station in Sosnowiec” – said the Civic Platform leader, Borys Budka, at a press conference.

„We demand that Prime Minister Morawiecki account for these alleged 58 billion zlotys that were supposed to benefit the Silesian voivodeship. We listen to the voices of Silesian trade unionists, who clearly state that the program for Silesia turned out to be a big sham and that there are no concrete investments that would change our region. Mr. Prime Minister, enough lies, it's time to leave the Warsaw offices and look the residents in the eye and say, 'We're sorry, we deceived you'” – he added.

'I can't imagine the Commander-in-Chief, a person who should show courage in times of crisis, to be so cowardly, that President Andrzej Duda, after 5 years of his presidency, is afraid of objective journalists. This is cowardice. It is unprecedented that the head of state, a person who after 5 years is running for re-election, is afraid to face the public opinion, is afraid to answer difficult questions. Perhaps he is afraid of why he did not fulfill specific promises, why he did not help people with Swiss franc loans, why he did not equalize direct subsidies for farmers. And finally, why instead of 2 billion for blunt propaganda and money for Jacek Kurski, this money did not go to healthcare. If Andrzej Duda does not stand up for the debate, which is being organized by independent media and independent journalists, he will prove to be a person who has chickened out at the finish line of the election campaign. He will prove to be an unreliable person, whom we will not be able to count on in times of trial' - said the leader of Civic Platform, Borys Budka, at a press conference in Sosnowiec. 

We saw how eager the ruling party was to hold elections as quickly as possible because the Morawiecki deficit is growing, and we are also hearing reports that the government itself is convinced it is not coping with the situation and will have trouble managing the economic situation. Apparently, many tax hikes are being prepared. That is why I am clearly stating that I will impose a tax veto on every tax that the government wants to introduce, which will be a burden for Poles – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press briefing in Kartuzy. 

- Today we are also launching the website podatkidudy.pl, because in these recent years, the President has signed laws increasing at least 30 taxes and other financial burdens. One can give numerous examples here, such as the "power tax" which translated into energy prices, excise duty, or finally, waste disposal fees – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press briefing in Kartuzy. 

- There's been some confusion around debates since yesterday, and I'll say this: I see the media are ceasing to discuss the elections and the substantive issues that genuinely interest Poles, and have started a discussion about the debate itself. I have a proposal. You all know perfectly well that I have always participated in debates. I participated in the debates in 2015, both the joint ones where all candidates took part, and later with President Komorowski. This year, I've already participated in two debates, something no president has done before. So, when it comes to debates, I truly have experience and I don't fear them. However, I have one request. Let the media agree amongst themselves. We have three major television stations in Poland: TVP, Polsat, and TVN. Please, come to an agreement, organize one debate, to which other media outlets can also join, and in this way, calmly, together, we will conduct this debate, so that the discussion is not about the debate itself, but about Poland. This is my proposal. Of course, Poles are very interested in the debate. But let it be in a spirit of unity. It's probably not a terrible problem for three television stations to sort this out, not to compete with each other, not to look for mutual connections, 'this television is connected to that one, that one to another,' 'this one supports this person, that one supports that one.' No. Please, organize it together, decide together what the questions in the debate will be, how it will look, reach an agreement on this matter with the campaign staffs. I think this is the best solution, and I sincerely ask all three television stations for this. I would be very happy to participate in such a debate, which would be a truly calm debate, and not some kind of race in terms of proposals – stated President Andrzej Duda in a conversation with journalists.

“We have repeatedly discussed the issue of drought compensation payments. We spoke with the Prime Minister. If the Polish state has committed to compensating for all damages from the 2019 drought, then it cannot be the case that a portion of those acknowledged damages is not compensated. Either Poland is a serious state, or it is not. We manage Polish affairs so that everyone feels and knows that Poland is a serious state. So be it, we will have to find those few billion zlotys and compensate for these acknowledged damages. There is no room for discussion here,” said President Andrzej Duda, who is running for re-election. 

- We truly need to make a good choice between what is called Duda's plan, an investment plan, and a plan for the revolution of customs, a plan of chaos, a lack of cooperation. We know perfectly well that today each of our opponents can promise anything. But when they were in power, it's worth remembering the previous crisis, what they did. They raised VAT, they raised taxes, they took away the Open Pension Funds (OFE), they raised the retirement age, and we are trying to raise the standard of living for people and be with the people. That is why mobilization and understanding are so important, that this is about Poland's development model. One that is meant to create a modern, people-friendly, prosperous Poland, one where you can also be in Łęczna, return after university, technical school, high school, vocational school, or trade school and find work here. Is it for a Poland that only drains the greatest talents, various people, to large centers or forces them to emigrate - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Łęczna.

- We would like to speak about a campaign that we are launching today, before the second round. The campaign is called 'Poland Connects Us' and it will involve thousands of our activists, volunteers, parliamentarians, local government officials, as well as other individuals who do not hold any official positions. From today, we are starting hundreds of meetings across the country. It won't just be President Duda who will be persuading people to vote in these elections. These elections are important not only for the President, for us, the campaign staff, but they are important for the entire country, which is why hundreds of meetings will begin to take place throughout Poland starting today. At the same time, we are appealing to all our sympathizers and volunteers to download campaign materials. Starting tomorrow, banners, election posters, and leaflets will be available for pickup at our regional and district offices. We appeal for involvement in this campaign. - The campaign is, of course, very important, but we are calling on Rafał Trzaskowski, the host in Warsaw, the mayor of the capital, whom Warsaw residents pay to be here during such a crisis and solve problems, not to flee from these problems, just as he did in the case of the coronavirus, when he fled by taking sick leave L4, then, according to his spokeswoman, it turned out that he was simply overworked, not to wait for help from the government that will rescue him – as was the case with the failure of the Czajka sewage treatment plant, but to be on site, like any good host, a local government official. Rafał Trzaskowski often refers to issues of self-governance and solving these problems. The campaign can wait a few dozen hours, while unfortunately Rafał Trzaskowski has not been in Warsaw for many hours, he is not present at crisis management team meetings – stated Adam Bielan at a press briefing.

As 300POLITYKA has learned, the launch of a website detailing tax and fee reductions between 2015 and 2020 is President Andrzej Duda's campaign's response to the Civic Platform's accusations and their website launched today. The entire online campaign will also revolve around this website, focusing on the Civic Platform's history of raising taxes and tolerating VAT carousel fraud.

- "The campaign is quickly responding to the Civic Platform's attempt to win over free-market voters," a campaign staffer for the president's re-election told us.

The website lists, among other things, a reduction in personal income tax (PIT) to 17%, zero PIT for young people, lower corporate income tax (CIT) for SMEs, "Small ZUS," the restored lower retirement age, and the repealed hydrocarbon tax.

- "During my five years as president, I have made every effort to significantly increase the standard of living for Poles and ensure my countrymen live better lives. That is why we introduced, among other things, zero PIT for the Young, 'Small ZUS' and 'Small ZUS Plus,' we lowered CIT for SMEs, and much more," wrote President Duda in the introduction.

The official presentation of the website will take place at 3:15 PM during a press conference with Piotr Müller, Waldemar Buda, and Radosław Fogiel, during which the politicians will attack the credibility of the Civic Platform candidate by listing taxes raised by the PO, including VAT, the disability insurance contribution, and car excise duty.

"This is not the end of the road, but its beginning. Many people treated my plans to run for president with reserve. They said, 'What is this, where did this person come from, who is behind him?' Now we know that 2,693,397 Poles are behind me. Some of them are participating in the movement that built this campaign. These are local government officials, activists, and volunteers gathered in "Szymon's Team." There are about 15,000 of them in Poland at the moment. It's surprising that from many places we are receiving signals that this number is not decreasing after the elections, but is growing, that people are only now starting to join us, believing that as a third voice on the political scene in Poland, we are capable not only of ending the era of the political duopoly of PiS and Civic Platform, but that we are capable of building on the ruins of this duopoly the thing we all care about" - said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

"The movement we are creating today has, in fact, already been formed. We do not operate from the top down. We are sanctioning what has been born on its own and what has arisen on its own from the bottom, in the Poland we know and the Poland we would like, in a Poland of friends, of neighbors, of solving our real problems. From this wonderful momentum that contributed to this campaign, a civic movement will now emerge, which will take the form of an association and the name "Poland 2050" - he added.

"2050, because it is the time of a generation, roughly 30 years. This is the time frame taken into account in all demographic studies and climate forecasts. We want to reach the midpoint of the 21st century after 20 years as wiser, deeper people, in a Poland that is green, solidary, democratic, and safe" - said Hołownia. 

„First, I believe it is a civic duty to go to the polls. It is not only a right, but also our civic obligation. We cannot and should not shy away from taking responsibility for the fate of the community, because our decisions determine not only our own comfort and our own future, but the fate of the entire Polish community. I have voted in all elections in which I was eligible to vote since I turned 18. I do not intend to change this habit. I appeal to all those I can reach and who value my opinion or can at least consider it, to participate in these elections” - said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

„I, one of the 30 million 300 thousand Poles eligible to vote, can say directly today that I do not have my candidate in the second round. It so happened that I don't have one, but I will go to the polls and cast my vote. I will cast my vote, as I have had the privilege to do many times under Polish conditions, not for something, but against something. Against the vision of the presidency, the vision of Poland presented by President Andrzej Duda and his party - PiS over the last 5 years” - he added.

„Our movement will not endorse any of the candidates running for office in the second round. We are a movement of free people. Each of us will make decisions according to our conscience, and so it should remain. I am not the master of your consciences. You will decide for yourselves, feeling your own responsibility, and I intend to respect this freedom, because this is how I want to build Poland” - Hołownia said. 

- We are only 10 days away from winning the election, which is why we need to try really hard over these last 10 days, above all to convince everyone who is still undecided. Determination, faith, and the strength I see in you will be needed in the final stretch of the campaign – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Chojnice.

"We are fighting for every vote. Every voter of Szymon Hołownia is just as important to us as Szymon Hołownia himself. I had hoped that Szymon would be a positive person, one who tries to vote for, rather than against. For me, it's important to show voters what unites us, to show that if they wanted change in the Presidential Palace, then Rafał Trzaskowski is precisely the symbol of change. „The question is, what is more important. Whether we have a strong president, independent of Nowogrodzka, or some personal ambitions. We are saying clearly. Now is the time to vote responsibly. This isn't about Poland 2050. It's about a Poland that could soon turn into a one-party state. I believe the chances are very even and the final result will not make a big difference in the number of votes cast for the candidates, because naturally President Duda has an advantage at the moment in terms of percentage and the number of votes he received in the first round. In the second round of the election, in my opinion, he will not lose the votes of Platforma supporters, and it turned out there are very many of them, almost 30%. His task is to win over those who are not enthusiastic about Platforma. I believe there is full understanding within Platforma as well - said Bronisław Komorowski on Polsat News.
