Bosak:

Bosak's Voters Want Bosak in the Second Round, They Don't Want a Duda-Trzaskowski Choice, Because These Candidates Are Similar

- Krzysztof Bosak's voters want Krzysztof Bosak in the second round; they don't want a Duda-Trzaskowski choice because these candidates are similar to each other, with similar biographies and views, and above all, they come from parties engaged in a barren political dispute that needs to be rejected entirely. We simply need to shift the model of politics to much more important issues than which campaign team has come up with which substitute topic on a given day of the campaign – stated Krzysztof Bosak in the "Piasecki Interview" on TVN24.

07:56

Bosak:

Defeating Trzaskowski, Reaching the Second Round, and Competing with PAD is Within Reach

- The dynamic of poll changes since January, when I began my election campaign, has been such that my support has roughly tripled. In the last week, interviews I've given to editor Stankiewicz on Onet have been trending on YouTube for days. The number of searches for my surname in recent days has surpassed those for President Duda. Meanwhile, Konfederacja is polling as the third force in Polish politics. I recall that last year, before the elections, no one gave Konfederacja a chance either. They said that if voter turnout was high, we wouldn't get in, but we did – stated Krzysztof Bosak in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

- I appeal for optimism, for mobilization in the final days of our election campaign. And I believe that defeating Rafał Trzaskowski, reaching the second round, and competing with President Duda, thereby showcasing a genuine, substantive opposition, is within reach – he continued.

08:01

Gowin on Whether the US Visit Will Help PAD's Election Chances: 'It's a Gamble'

- It's a gamble. However, I cannot imagine a situation where any candidate, especially the head of state, having the opportunity to meet with the president of the greatest superpower, would withdraw or decline this invitation based on pre-election calculations - said Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:02

Bosak:

The absence of a debate on TVN or Polsat is due to the PiS and PO campaign teams colluding and avoiding these debates, settling for a staged debate on TVP.

- If a second round were to happen without me, then we would reflect on it. But we have time for such reflections after Sunday, should this success not materialize, the success we are currently fighting and striving for. However, in the context of various media speculations, I must say that no proposal for any meeting has come to us from any campaign team, particularly from the major ones, and these teams fear us like the devil fears holy water. The fact that there is no debate on your channels, on TVN or Polsat, is precisely because the PiS and PO campaign teams have colluded and fled from these debates, content with only a staged debate on TVP – stated Krzysztof Bosak during "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:05

Gowin:

Regardless of Who Becomes US President After Autumn Elections, American Commitments Will Be Valid
Fortunately, the American state has the great advantage that regardless of which political camp is in power, the continuity of strategic decisions is a priority. If certain commitments are made by the current president, then regardless of who becomes president after the autumn elections, American commitments will be valid - said Jarosław Gowin on Polsat News.

08:09

Gowin:

From the Start, It Was Obvious That a Runoff, If It Occurs – and That Has Been Clear for Weeks – Would Be Extremely Close

- From the start, it was obvious that a runoff, if it occurs – and that has been clear for many weeks – would be extremely close - said Jarosław Gowin on Polsat News.

- Just a moment, let's pause for a second. PiS says: let's settle this in the first round. You say it's obvious there will be a runoff - noted Piotr Witwicki.

- I am not as optimistic as some of my colleagues. Of course, we are fighting for the best possible result for the President. I travel across Poland every day - replied Gowin.

08:14

Gowin on Emilewicz's Statement in Church: It Was a Certain Awkwardness on the Part of the Organizers. There Was No Hint of Agitation in the Prime Minister's Words

- It was a certain awkwardness on the part of the organizers after Holy Mass. She was asked to thank entrepreneurs. Fully deserved words of thanks for millions of Polish entrepreneurs. She was supposed to speak from the altar and after the mass. I emphasize this very strongly - said Jarosław Gowin on Polsat News.

- The circumstances were extraordinary. There was no hint of agitation in Prime Minister Emilewicz's words. She spoke solely about the moral and social dimension of the economy - he added.

08:29

Sawicki:

Curiously, the President Lowered the Retirement Age for Everyone Else, But Not for Farmers. Until 2017, Farmers Could Retire Early

- President Andrzej Duda promised to lower the retirement age for everyone, including farmers, in 2015. Curiously, he lowered it for everyone else, but not for farmers. Until 2017, meaning halfway through PiS's first term, farmers could retire early – women at 55, men at 60 – and this possibility was not extended in 2017 - said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Grzegorz Jankowski on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on Radio Jedynka.

08:33

Sawicki:

Kosiniak-Kamysz Will Be in the Second Round

- Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz will be in the second round. Whether it's with Szymon Hołownia, Andrzej Duda, or Rafał Trzaskowski, that remains to be seen. At this moment, we don't have such a dilemma; at this moment, we are all engaged in the campaign – said Marek Sawicki on Jedynka radio.

08:37

Sawicki on Hołownia: A Contemporary Palikot. I Have Serious Doubts Whether He's Not a Candidate of Certain Political Circles, Solely to Take Votes from Competitors Like Kosiniak-Kamysz

- In my opinion, Szymon Hołownia is, among other things, a contemporary Palikot. Ostensibly an independent candidate. I would like to know from where and how he is gathering such significant funds for his campaign. Who is actually financing him, and I have serious doubts whether he's not truly a candidate of certain political circles, solely to take votes from competitors like Kosiniak-Kamysz - Marek Sawicki said on Jedynka radio.

09:21

Trzaskowski:

PO Government Created More Effective Housing Programs; PiS Discarded Them, Proposing Their Own with Poor Results

- Today in Rzeszów at 4:30 PM, I will discuss a program for young people. One of the most significant barriers and problems for all young people is owning their own apartment. The PiS government promised 100,000 apartments by the end of 2019, and according to press reports, they delivered less than a thousand - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference in Rzeszów.

- My proposal will primarily focus on ensuring the down payment for obtaining loans, because we all know that this is the most important problem and the biggest obstacle today - he continued.

- The PO government created its own programs that were much more effective when it came to acquiring one's own apartment. Meanwhile, PiS decided to throw all these efforts into the trash, proposing their own program, which was supposed to be much more effective, and the results of which are visible behind me - added Trzaskowski.

09:23

PMM:

In 1997, the left, through Cimoszewicz, said you should have been insured. Komorowski said water gathers and flows to the Baltic. These are phrases foreign to us.
"I remember the flood of 1997. I remember Racibórz, Opole, Kłodzko, Wrocław then. I saw these human dramas, when people lost their health, lives, all their property. I saw people in Kłodzko who had lost their loved ones. It was truly the flood of the century, a great flood that caused immense drama in many parts of our country. The then-ruling left, through Prime Minister Cimoszewicz, told people: 'You should have been insured.' Similarly, President Komorowski from Civic Platform said a few years ago that water has a tendency to gather, and then flow into other rivers, and then into the Baltic Sea. These are phrases that are foreign to us. We got down to serious work in 2016, 2017, and 2018 and allocated enormous funds for the construction of this reservoir here, near Racibórz. Thanks to this reservoir, which I believe will make everyone realize its importance, we could have saved Wrocław, Opole, Kędzierzyn, the entire Opole region, and Lower Silesia from a flood like the one in 1997" - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Racibórz.

09:26

Trzaskowski:

Decisions from the Newport Summit, negotiated by PO, led to the stationing of American troops in Poland. Later, PiS government decisions and negotiations. This is one of the few examples where we have continuity

- I would like to remind you that it was the decisions from the Newport summit, negotiated by the PO government, that led to American troops being stationed on Polish territory. Later, of course, decisions and negotiations by the PiS government. This is one of the few examples where we have continuity in foreign policy - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference in Rzeszów.

09:31

Trzaskowski:

I personally negotiated EU sanctions against Russia in 2014. I regret that the president today does not even uphold this consensus on this matter.

- I personally negotiated the introduction of these sanctions [against Russia] in the European Union in 2014. I regret that the president today does not even uphold this consensus on this matter, because it seems that such a consensus is a fundamental issue in matters concerning the raison d'état and security of our homeland - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference in Rzeszów.

09:32

Budka:

On Friday, a major campaign by Civic Platform - Civic Coalition MPs and Local Government Officials: 'Friday for Rafał'

"On Friday, a major campaign by Civic Platform - Civic Coalition MPs and Local Government Officials: 'Friday for Rafał'. There is a lot of work, and we are all working, we are all Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign staff. I am working hard, but Rafał Trzaskowski is the candidate. He has taken on the burden of this campaign, he is the candidate. I think I have been to every voivodeship to mobilize and support," said PO leader Borys Budka in a conversation with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon".

09:36

Schetyna:

Trzaskowski to present his program by the end of the week

- You need to ask... He [Rafał Trzaskowski] will present this program by the end of the week. There are still two weeks until the second round, but he will present it by the end of the week - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

09:37

Schetyna:

The Idea for Nurseries and Kindergartens is Good Because He Showed Over 1.5 Years as Warsaw Mayor That It Can Be Done, Quickly, and as a Nationwide Program

- It's obvious that the president doesn't implement. The government is responsible for politics, for conducting direct, current politics. Just as he does in Warsaw and shows that it can be done. It's a matter of legislative, political initiative, which is why the idea for nurseries and kindergartens is good, because he showed over 1.5 years as Warsaw mayor that it can be done, that it can be done very quickly, and that it can be done as a nationwide program. This is a process that takes time. A term lasts 5 years. He started it, and there's a big change compared to other cities - stated Grzegorz Schetyna on Radio Plus.

09:39

Budka:

Three Days Before Elections, Without Any Declarations in Poland, the President Travels to Meet Only One US Presidential Candidate. Will He Not Make Commitments for Campaign Reasons That His Successor Trzaskowski Will Later Have to Honor?

If the President, three days before elections, without any declarations in Poland, without convening the National Security Council, without clear instructions from the government, travels and meets with only one of the candidates for President of the United States, and polls show that there might soon be a change in the White House, and we don't know why the President is going, because he hasn't clearly stated it. Will it not turn out that precisely for campaign reasons, he will undertake commitments that his successor Rafał Trzaskowski will later have to honor? This is happening very badly. I regret that President Andrzej Duda will not meet with President Trump's competitor” - said PO Chairman Borys Budka on Radio Trójka.

09:45

Schetyna:

Just as Trump is not the favorite in the US presidential election, so Duda is also ceasing to be the favorite in the Polish election

- I want to say that this goes beyond the structures of diplomacy entirely. Four days before the election, a visit during the election campaign, before the election in Poland, is being treated by Donald Trump also as an element of his own election campaign in the USA. I just wouldn't want any commitments to be made, because just as Donald Trump is not the favorite in the US presidential election, so Andrzej Duda is also ceasing to be the favorite in the Polish election - stated Grzegorz Schetyna on Radio Plus.

09:54

Budka:

Trzaskowski's Program is Presented Daily in Its Components. It Will Be Compiled at the End to Summarize the Intensive Campaign Period

There are several pillars to Rafał Trzaskowski's program. The issue of self-governance and financial and organizational support for local governments. The second very important element is investments at the local and regional level. He speaks very clearly about this. The third element is effective foreign policy and cooperation within the EU, a return to the good traditions when Poles held the most important positions in the EU – Jerzy Buzek, Donald Tusk – these were symbols of how Poles can effectively advocate for Poland's interests and implement common European policy. These are issues of security, but also the issue of healthcare. It is also assistance to the weaker within the framework of new solidarity” – said the Civic Platform leader Borys Budka on Radio Trójka.

This program is presented daily in its individual components. Rafał Trzaskowski is showcasing elements of the program. He is building it by adding more bricks. It will be compiled at the end to summarize this intensive campaign period” – he added.

The President's Staff Draws a Clear Contrast with Previous Policy on the Day of the Meeting wi:

Foreign Policy is a Tough Game of Interests, Where Smiles and Handshakes Matter but Aren't the Goal. We Are Pursuing Our Interests More Effectively Than Ever
Foreign policy is a tough game of interests, where smiles and handshakes matter but aren't the goal. We are pursuing our interests more effectively than ever – says the narrator in the latest re-election campaign spot of Andrzej Duda, which 300POLITYKA is the first to publish. PiS campaign staff want to build another contrast between the "smile" policy in the style of Donald Tusk, from which – in their opinion – nothing more resulted. The main message is a strategic alliance with the USA, and it's no coincidence that the campaign staff's communication today is intended to amplify the effect of Duda and Trump's meeting.  "Instead of the dictates of Russian Gazprom, we have cheaper LNG gas, and the number of American soldiers, which has increased severalfold, genuinely strengthens our security; the NATO border has clearly shifted eastward" – we hear in the spot. "President Duda played a key role in this. He is the president of Polish affairs" – this message concludes the spot. "Today, we have excellent relations with all the most important partners" – we also hear in the spot, as snippets from the president's meetings with Emmanuel Macron, Angela Merkel, or the Prime Minister of China appear in the background.

12:51

Biedroń:

31 Former Voivodeship Capitals Must Return to the Map of Poland Today, Must Regain Their Dignity, Because They Were Stripped of It

31 former voivodeship capitals must return to the map of Poland today, they must regain their dignity, because they were stripped of it. Economic aid must be directed to these cities in a special way today. Companies must be established here that will create new jobs. Young people are leaving these cities today, and we need to create opportunities for them to stay here” - said Robert Biedroń, a candidate for president from the Left and a Member of the European Parliament, in Słupsk.

13:01

Bielan:

The claim that a million people lost their jobs in Poland today is false. If we compare unemployment levels to when Trzaskowski was minister, we can say that a million people have gained jobs in Poland today.

- We are surprised by this verdict on the one hand, although considering other verdicts that have been delivered recently, for example, the scandalous verdict concerning Mr. Sadurski, who called PiS a criminal organization and was acquitted in a civil lawsuit, it can be said that this should not be surprising. We are waiting for the justification, the full justification of this verdict, then we will respond substantively. The words that a million people have lost their jobs in Poland today are false. The truth is completely different. If we compare the unemployment level to the times when Rafał Trzaskowski was minister, we can say that a million people have gained jobs in Poland today - said Adam Bielan during a press conference.

13:04

Tomczyk:

Does this government need two court rulings to realize there are over a million unemployed in Poland?

- As you know, a judgment has already been passed by the appellate court, a judgment that clearly states: Rafał Trzaskowski wins against Andrzej Duda in court. I think this is simply a fact that needs to be highlighted today, because it is worth asking one fundamental question, which I am directing today to those in power: does this government need as many as two court rulings to determine that there are over a million unemployed in Poland? Does it really take a court ruling, a Polish court ruling, for the government to finally start dealing with the issues that are most important to Poles today? It is a problem today that the Polish government, Andrzej Duda's campaign team, Andrzej Duda, instead of dealing with the most important, fundamental issues, is dealing with electoral process matters, which they are losing anyway. Rafał Trzaskowski is a candidate who will talk about the future. This is the division that is becoming clear before our eyes. There is one candidate who has remained in the past - Andrzej Duda, who talks about disputes that have long been resolved. We want to talk about problems that are here and now, problems that will impact Poland in the coming years - stated Cezary Tomczyk at a press briefing.

13:47

Trzaskowski:

Today, Large State-Owned Companies Are Not Threatened by Bankruptcy. Today, Family Businesses Are Threatened by Bankruptcy. Today, It Is Family Businesses That Fight the Epidemic Daily and Try to Save Every Job.

Today, large state-owned companies are not threatened by bankruptcy. Today, family businesses are threatened by bankruptcy. Today, it is family businesses that fight the epidemic daily and try to save every job. This is our absolute priority. Today, it is often the case that we deal with substitute topics, that questions are asked about issues that do not actually bother citizens, and today, the most important thing is to say a resounding “We’ve had enough” to substitute topics” – said Rafał Trzaskowski, the KO candidate for president and the mayor of the capital city of Warsaw, in Dębica.

13:48

Trzaskowski:

Today, those who speak of economic patriotism import millions of tons of coal from abroad. Unfortunately, they also sign various types of agreements without proper regard for Polish industry.

How many promises were made about expanding the defense industry's potential here in Podkarpacie and throughout Poland? This is what should be most important to us. Today, those who speak of economic patriotism import millions of tons of coal from abroad. Unfortunately, they also sign various types of agreements without proper regard for Polish industry. This is what we demand here – genuine economic patriotism” – said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition candidate for president and the mayor of the capital city of Warsaw, in Dębica.

13:54

Trzaskowski:

I Will Not Be President of Total Opposition, But Where the Government Tries to Make Irrational Decisions or Politicize Independent Institutions, There Will Be a Veto

"I will not be the president of total opposition. I am ready for cooperation where cooperation will strengthen the Polish state, but where the government tries to make irrational decisions, where it tries to politicize independent institutions, there will certainly be a veto," said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition's presidential candidate and Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, in Dębica.

14:06

Kaczyński:

If President Duda is in the United States today, discussing Polish-American relations, including military matters, he is fighting for Polish freedom there.

- Let us remember the dangers. Let us remember especially at a time when the world is unstable, when aggressive forces hostile to freedom are active. If President Andrzej Duda is in the United States today, conducting talks there about Polish-American relations, including in the military sphere, then he is fighting for freedom, for Polish freedom - said Jarosław Kaczyński at the convention of the PiS Youth Forum.

- Yes, ladies and gentlemen. The good change, the camp of good change, headed by Andrzej Duda, is the camp of freedom - added the PiS leader.

14:15

Kaczyński:

If We Want Everything That Can Ensure a Beautiful, Good Life for People to Truly Be the Future of Our Nation, Not Just a Dream, Duda Must Remain President

- If freedom in Poland is not to retreat but to expand, including into the areas discussed here, and if it concerns the practical freedom of an individual who has adequate means, access to housing, and access to culture, partly due to having a sufficient amount of money in their wallet, if we want everything in our world, in our civilization, this developed civilization, that is so appealing, so beautiful, everything that can ensure a beautiful, good life for people, to truly be not just a dream, not just a chimera, but the future of our nation, then we must say clearly: Andrzej Duda must become the President of the Republic - said Jarosław Kaczyński at the convention of the PiS Youth Forum.

14:26

Kaczyński:

From Women's Equality to Animal Welfare, It All Falls Within Freedom

- Everything you've discussed here, starting with women's equality in terms of pay, and also in terms of treatment, because there was also mention of various other dangers that indeed lurk for women in Poland in various places, and ending with animals, with everything that dictates treating animals well and treating them not as things, but as living, feeling beings, all of that also falls within the scope of freedom. One only needs to look at freedom from the perspective of a conscious human being, both intellectually and morally. An empathetic person, capable of empathizing with everything that others experience, primarily people, but also animals - said Jarosław Kaczyński at the convention of the Young Forum of PiS.

14:48

Kaczyński on Equal Rights and Animal Welfare: We Have Nothing in Common with Those Who Delude Themselves That These Demands Aren't Right-Wing. They Are Indeed Conservative.

- Our formation, although, as the gentleman moderating this meeting rightly said: a conservative formation, fully identifies with these demands. We have nothing in common with those who delude themselves into thinking these demands are not right-wing. They are indeed conservative; they refer to the best of what has been in history, to our civilization. A Christian civilization, a civilization most benevolent to humans, but also to other living creatures - Jarosław Kaczyński said at the convention of the PiS Young Forum.

14:52

PM Morawiecki on Presidential Election: We Were Forced into This Democratic Shift by the Senate Freezing the Bill

- In the situation we find ourselves in today, we are emerging well from the pandemic crisis, often people forget how it began. But I believe Poles have good memories and we all perfectly remember what the situation was like in March and at the beginning of April. At that time, everyone was very concerned about the consequences of the pandemic in all possible dimensions of life. And the constitutional elections for the office of the President of the Republic of Poland were approaching. And in connection with that, similarly to Bavaria and South Korea, we decided to conduct postal elections. Indeed, there was a legal basis, and we used that legal basis and asked for operational preparations to be made for these elections, to conduct these elections. If the ballots had not been printed, and the Senate had coincidentally ended up with its traditional strategy of freezing everything, all good laws, freezing, delaying, which meant many things had to come into effect later, and in this case, we could not have conducted the postal elections operationally at all, because the Senate exactly held onto them for 30 days, the maximum possible period available to the Senate. Consequently, the Senate bears the responsibility here, about which some people are inquiring, although I think that neither the Senate nor all those who tried to prepare things with actual responsibility should bear it, because in a democratic process, in a normal state, it sometimes happens that various processes undergo, in this case, various kinds of democratic shifts. We were forced into this democratic shift by the Senate freezing the bill – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing in Łódź.

14:58

Morawiecki:

Had Election Packages Not Been Prepared, TVN Would Be Asking Why We Didn't Print Them
I would like to thank everyone who had the courage to undertake all these operational tasks, because once again, I believe you all understand perfectly well that had these packages not been prepared and elections had to be held, everyone in the TVN newsroom today would be asking: why didn't you print these election packages. But that's a characteristic of the various pleasant dialogues we have - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing in Łódź.

PM on the President's Visit to the USA: A Visit of Great Benefit to Poland
This is a visit of great benefit to Poland. We derive excellent benefits from cooperation with the USA in the investments we attract from the USA. The President discussed major investments such as the IT cloud, which is Microsoft, investing a billion dollars here, during earlier meetings. I think many of you know what the cloud is, Microsoft, and also the significant investment by Google, Alphabet, which was announced; all of this is a consequence of excellent relations with the USA. Such relations did not exist in the past, and today I can only say that I am very grateful to the President. Tomorrow we have a meeting with several dozen investors from the USA, those who create hundreds of thousands of jobs, who bring new technologies to Poland - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing in Łódź.

President Duda Ahead of Meeting with Trump: We Will Discuss Military and Economic Cooperation, Including the Three Seas Initiative, and Collaboration on Coronavirus Vaccine Research

We will discuss all the topics that have been signaled by the American side in recent days. We will talk about all those important issues that I have already mentioned several times, namely: military cooperation, economic cooperation, including in the Three Seas region, in which President Trump is very keenly interested, as evidenced by his unequivocal participation in the Three Seas Summit in Warsaw. We will discuss energy cooperation and energy security. We will also talk about cooperation in telecommunications and cybersecurity, and – importantly for me – we will discuss cooperation in the field of coronavirus vaccine research, collaboration between Polish and American scientists in this area, as well as cooperation between our states, joint action” – said President Andrzej Duda, who is running for re-election, in Washington.

Duda on Meeting with Trump: It is a Clear Indication for Me of the Quality of the Polish-American Alliance

"This is a meeting that, for me, is a clear indication of the quality of the Polish-American alliance, of the very high level of our relations. I have emphasized this many times, not just me, but also other people, other commentators – this is the first visit of a foreign leader to the United States after the coronavirus lockdown period, so one can say that this is a very important signal of the quality of political relations between Poland and the United States" – said Andrzej Duda, the incumbent president seeking re-election, in Washington.

16:10

Duda:

If Troops Are Withdrawn from Europe, Our Task is to Ensure They Remain

If indeed decisions were to be made to withdraw part of the troops from any of the NATO member states in Europe, then our task – I believe – as European members of the North Atlantic Alliance, and I also discussed this with the NATO Secretary General, is to ensure that these units are not withdrawn from Europe, that the United States does not decide to relocate them back to the United States or relocate them to another part of the world, because for the security architecture of Europe, the EU, or the eastern flank of the Alliance, it is best to have as much of the United States military strength in this region as possible” – said Andrzej Duda, who is running for re-election, in Washington.

16:15

Duda Asked About Talks with Trump on Nuclear Weapons Relocation: 'I Know There Are Many Rumors in Poland on This Matter, But It Has Never Been the Subject of Our Conversation'
'I have never spoken with President Donald Trump on this topic. I know that there are many rumors in Poland regarding this matter, but it has never been the subject of our conversation' – stated President Andrzej Duda, who is running for re-election, in Washington.

Latest Ipsos for Oko.press: 40:27:10. Trzaskowski Loses 3 Pts, But Wins Hypothetical Runoff 47:43 as Duda Weakens
Duda wins the first round of a hypothetical election (40%) against Trzaskowski (27%) and Hołownia (10%), but loses to both in a second round by as much as 4-5 percentage points. For the first time in polls, Trzaskowski is becoming the favorite in a second round – according to an Ipsos poll for OKO.press. In the Ipsos estimates, the first round looks as follows: Duda 40 Trzaskowski 27 Hołownia 10 Bosak 7 Kosiniak 5 Biedroń 4 Witkowski 1 "Compared to the OKO.press poll from a week ago (June 15-16), Trzaskowski lost 3 percentage points in the first round, and Biedroń gained 2 points. Biedroń's mobilization in recent days has reminded Left voters of his existence. Duda, Hołownia, and Bosak have exactly what they had before. Kosiniak-Kamysz recovered 1 percentage point," – reports OKO. "In a hypothetical second round, Trzaskowski and Duda were supported by 46% of respondents a week ago. Now, the opposition politician has 47% support, and the ruling camp's candidate has 43%. As many as 11% of voters are still undecided or unwilling to vote. Compared to the previous survey, Duda lost as much as 4 percentage points in terms of key declarations of support ('definitely for Duda'), while gaining 1 point in 'rather for Duda' votes. Trzaskowski scraped together an additional point of 'decided' voters and now has 40%, significantly more than his rival; a week ago it was the opposite. The difference of 47 to 43% is still within the margin of statistical error," – writes Piotr Pacewicz in OKO. The full Ipsos poll for OKO.press is available here. Hołownia:

In the Final Phase of the Campaign, We Intensified Our Efforts. Today, 15,000 of Our Volunteers Across Poland Simultaneously Launched an Agitation Campaign

- The "Door-to-Door" Campaign. In the final phase of the campaign, we intensified our agitation efforts, and from 4 PM to 7 PM today, 15,000 of our volunteers across Poland simultaneously launched an agitation campaign. This involved visiting people in their homes in various locations, handing out our election materials, discussing how they intend to vote, and of course, persuading them to support my candidacy – said Szymon Hołownia in Częstochowa.

17:31

Trzaskowski:

Today Every City, Town, and Polish Village Faces the Same Problem. How to Keep Our Young People Here. How to Give Them Prospects for Development and the Future.

- Today every city, town, and Polish village faces the same problem. How to keep our young people here. How to give them prospects for development and the future. I have the impression that today, over these last few weeks, we have heard too much, especially from political competitors, about what happened long ago. About what was decided long ago. About what is not our most important problem today. When they ask me about joining the Eurozone or about religion in schools - I know these are important topics, but we are not discussing that today. Today we are discussing completely different topics. Today, everyone is wondering whether we are emerging from the epidemic, or if this epidemic is still developing, because there is a lack of concrete information - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Rzeszów.

17:32

Trzaskowski:

Young People Can No Longer Listen to Disputes Between Older Politicians Who Constantly Argue About the Same Things. Today I Am Fighting for the Presidency for the Next 5 Years, Not the Previous 5, and We've Had Enough of Old Disputes.

- Young people, and I know this from my own experience, as my 15-year-old daughter is starting to ask the same questions, they know exactly what the problems of our country are today, and we must listen to them - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Rzeszów.

- They can no longer listen to disputes between older politicians who constantly argue about the same things. I understand that. Because today I am truly fighting for the presidency for the next 5 years, not the previous 5, and we have had enough of old disputes - he continued.

17:40

Trzaskowski:

Young People Say: We've Had Enough of Politicians Who Promise Us Important Things and Then Fail to Deliver for 5 Years of Their Rule

- Young people are also saying one thing, namely they are saying 'I call your bluff'. They are saying: we've had enough of politicians who promise us certain things that are important to us and who are then unable to fulfill these promises for the 5 years of their rule. We remember the promises of affordable housing, 100,000 apartments would be under construction. Today I was here, in Rzeszów, on an empty, wet meadow. Unfortunately, not even 1,000 of these apartments have been built. These are precisely the questions that need to be asked today, because decisions concerning housing will determine our future and the future of young people – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Rzeszów.

17:53

Trzaskowski:

Today We Must Discuss How to Fight for Every Job and Protect Our Young People from the Challenges They Face

- Today we must discuss precisely this, how to fight for every job, how to protect our young people from the challenges that lie before them - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Rzeszów.

17:54

Trzaskowski:

Those Trying to Teach Us About Family Today Are Destroying Polish Education

- Those who are trying to teach us today about what a family should look like are destroying Polish education, and we've had enough of that - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Rzeszów.

18:01

Trzaskowski:

Instead of fighting hatred and vitriol, the government often promotes it, stigmatizing those who think or look different. This is unacceptable.

- We all see what is happening in Polish schools. That there is more and more vitriol, hatred, that children are sometimes hounded simply because they are different, because they think differently. Simply because they haven't yet defined who they exactly are, what they desire in life, that a small pretext is enough to try and break someone's life, and the government, instead of standing up today and fighting hatred, fighting vitriol, often promotes this hatred and vitriol itself, trying to stigmatize everyone else who thinks or looks different. This cannot be agreed to - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Rzeszów.

18:11

Trzaskowski:

"Mieszkanie Plus" Yields Almost No Positive Results. Yes, We Will Return to Programs Where the State Helps Young People with Down Payments

- We have to think about housing. And look again. There were programs from the previous government that delivered real homes, down payments. Today, "Mieszkanie Plus" [Housing Plus] has almost no positive results. And that's why I'm saying: yes, we will return to those programs where the state will help young people with paying their down payment. Because today, this down payment sometimes reaches even 30%. Nobody can afford that. Yes, we will support local governments that, just like in many of our cities and towns, support these types of programs for building affordable rental housing - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Rzeszów.

Schetyna:

Duda is fitting his US visit into the context of the final days of the election campaign. It's an unprecedented incident that such a visit is happening 4 days before the presidential elections, which are so important.
He is fighting for re-election, for victory in the elections, because he is fitting this visit [President Duda in the USA] into the context of the election campaign, the final days of the election campaign. It's an unprecedented incident that such a visit is happening 4 days before the presidential elections, which are so important. The President of Poland visiting the President of the USA, who is also on the eve of his election campaign or has already begun it – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with Diana Rudnik on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts after Facts).

19:56

Schetyna:

US Visit is Characterized by Great Chaos, Poorly Prepared, Lacks Agenda. RBN, Where Meeting Agenda Should Be Discussed, Was Not Convened

- This visit [President Duda's visit to the USA] is visibly being prepared in great chaos, it is not well prepared, it lacks an agenda. I would like to remind you that the RBN, where the agenda for such a meeting should be discussed, was not convened. President Duda did not consult with opposition representatives regarding the plan for the necessary challenges this visit brings - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:07

Schetyna on Trzaskowski's Program Details: 'He Presents It Daily. Of Course, It Will Be Formally Presented, But It's Very Clear'

- He presents it daily [Rafał Trzaskowski's program details] and speaks very clearly about the segments he presents, about which he talks during these open, and very successful meetings, like today in Rzeszów, and previously in Lublin, Białystok, and throughout Poland. I've seen these meetings, these conversations, this program. Of course, it will be formally presented, but it is very clear, and I believe that the momentum of this campaign and Rafał Trzaskowski's approach gives him an advantage, a handicap of openness and proactiveness, which I believe will lead to future success. This campaign looks good, it has its emotions, it's genuine and effective - stated Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:24

Hołownia:

I said I wouldn't want to be forced to choose the lesser evil again in the person of the Civic Platform candidate

I said I wouldn't want to be forced to choose the lesser evil again in the person of the Civic Platform candidate, Rafał Trzaskowski, but I will have to make some choice… This is also a situation where many of my voters expect me to say that I will not vote for Andrzej Duda and they tie their vote to this,” said presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News.

20:26

Sikorski:

President Trump is clearly using our president for his games with Merkel

- In his place [President Duda's], I would not have undertaken this visit. President Trump is clearly using our president for his games with Angela Merkel, and it's not good to be played. Besides, this visit is taking place in an atmosphere of scandal, it is being criticized by important congressmen, senators, and the media - said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:31

Sikorski:

Someone Else Might Be in the White House by January. Showing Washington We Identify 1000% with a Candidate Who is Also Several Percent Behind Their Opponent is Reckless and Unwise

- Someone else might be in the White House by January. Showing the whole of Washington that we identify 1000% with a candidate who is also several percent behind their opponent is reckless and unwise. Poland should have excellent relations with the USA regardless of who is in power. If we get involved in their election campaign, and they in ours, it becomes risky and controversial – stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24.

20:34

Sikorski:

When Visiting Russia, Where the Opposition Isn't Truly Liked, I Met with the Opposition. It's the Guest's Right. I Suspect Biden Didn't Want to Meet Our President.

- When I visited Russia, where the opposition isn't truly liked, I met with the opposition. It's the guest's right to meet with both the government and the opposition. I just suspect that it was former Vice President Biden who didn't want to meet our president – said Radosław Sikorski on TVN24.

20:39

Sikorski on PAD's Statement that 'When PO Ruled, Russia Attacked Ukraine': During PiS and Duda's Rule, Notre Dame Cathedral Burned Down, and the World Was Engulfed by a Pandemic. The Causal Links are Roughly the Same Weight

- And during the rule of PiS and President Duda, Notre Dame Cathedral burned down, and the world was engulfed by a pandemic. I think the causal links are roughly the same weight – said Radosław Sikorski on TVN24, when asked by Monika Olejnik about the president's statement.

20:47

Sikorski:

PAD Now Wants to Represent an Imagined Community Imposing Things on Us in Foreign Languages. It's a Laughable Mess, Mostly a Mess, as Youth Say
The balance is that [PAD] said it was an imagined community that imposes energy-saving lightbulbs on us, and now he wants to represent this imagined community that imposes things on us in foreign languages. It's a laughable mess, mostly a mess, as the youth say, Radosław Sikorski stated on TVN24.

20:51

Sikorski's Advice to PiS Colleagues: What Sounds Good Locally Becomes Humiliating Abroad

- I have general advice for my PiS colleagues. What sounds good coming from Archbishop Jędraszewski, on the airwaves of Radio Maryja, or at a party rally, translates into English as a humiliating gaffe - said Radosław Sikorski on TVN24.

Trump:

I know elections are coming. I count on President Duda to be successful

"We all know what a wonderful and beautiful country Poland is. It is my honor that my friend President Duda from Poland is here with us, who has done a really fantastic job. I know that elections are coming. I count on him to be successful. Thank you very much to all representatives from the Polish side. This is the third time we are hosting President Duda" – said the President of the United States, Donald Trump, at a press conference at the White House.

22:04

Trump:

We Are Working Together to Conclude an Agreement Supporting Poland's Nuclear Power Development

The United States and Poland have recently signed several long-term contracts, for example, for liquefied natural gas from the USA, which will increase Poland's energy security. We are working together to conclude an agreement that will support Poland's development in the area of nuclear power plants through purchases,” stated the President of the United States, Donald Trump, at a press conference at the White House.

22:09

Trump:

We will reduce our forces in Germany. Some will return home, others will be relocated elsewhere. Poland will be one of those other places in Europe.

"We will be reducing our forces in Germany. Some will go home, others will be relocated to other places. Poland will be one of those other places in Europe. I think it sends a very clear signal to Russia. I think a stronger signal sent to Russia is the fact that Germany is paying billions of dollars to Russia to buy energy from Russia through a pipeline" - said U.S. President Donald Trump at a press conference in the White House.

22:16

Trump Asked About Visit to Poland: 'We Also Have Elections in Our Country, So I'll Probably Only Be Able to Do It After the Elections. Assuming Everything Goes Well, Then Definitely 'Yes''
'The answer regarding going to Poland is 'yes'. We would like to do it again as soon as possible. We also have elections in our country, so I'll probably only be able to do it after the elections. Assuming everything goes well, then definitely 'yes'' – said the President of the United States, Donald Trump, at a press conference in the White House.

22:17

Trump:

We Will Engage Poland in Terms of Aid and Care for Poles Once We Have a Coronavirus Vaccine, and I Think That Will Be Very Soon

Regarding joining us in the work on a vaccine and a cure [for coronavirus]. We are working very hard on both. We are finding answers. I think a beautiful surprise awaits you, sooner than you might expect. The answer is 'yes', we will engage Poland both in terms of aid and care for Poles once we have this vaccine, and I think it will be very soon” - said President of the United States Donald Trump at a press conference at the White House.

22:33

President Duda Thanks Trump for Commitment to Vaccine and Coronavirus Drug Research Collaboration

- A very significant portion of our conversation with Mr. President [Trump] and our associates was dedicated to the issue of coronavirus, the situation in Europe and globally regarding the fight against coronavirus. Also in the USA, but primarily on how to act for the future - stated President Andrzej Duda at a press conference with US President Donald Trump.

- I am enormously grateful to Mr. President for this declaration that we will cooperate with each other, that our scientists will collaborate, work together in conducting research to find a vaccine and a drug for coronavirus. Everything that will contribute to the treatment of coronavirus. I hope that thanks to this, also thanks to this cooperation, these treatments will also be available to my compatriots, to Poles, as quickly as possible - he continued.

22:35

Duda to Trump: Don't Withdraw US Forces from Europe. Poland is Ready to Host More American Soldiers.

- I would not presume to tell the President of the United States where to send his soldiers, as this is always a decision made by the United States, an extremely responsible decision. I do not deny that I appealed to President Donald Trump not to withdraw American forces from Europe, because the security of Europe is important to me. From Europe as a whole, from a united Europe, for which the American presence since the end of World War II has largely been a guarantee of security. The Monument to General Tadeusz Kościuszko Was Recently Desecrated. Thank You for Its Swift Restoration

- I wanted to thank you, Mr. President, because, among other things, the monument to General Tadeusz Kościuszko, our national hero and also a national hero of the United States, who fought for American independence, was recently desecrated. He had great merits; he was also the leader in Poland of an uprising that fought for Polish independence - said President Andrzej Duda during a joint press conference with President Donald Trump.

- This monument was recently desecrated for reasons incomprehensible to us. I am very grateful that it has been restored so quickly and that I was able to lay flowers beneath it this morning and pay tribute to this great soldier and commander of ours - he added.

President Duda: At This Moment, We Are Operating at a State Level, Disregarding Election Matters. We Are Fulfilling Our Duties as Presidents of Our Countries

- My colleague and I are fulfilling our presidential duties. A president is always responsible for the affairs of the country, and a president's task is to represent its interests. When acting on the international stage, in my view, and I know this is also undoubtedly the profound sentiment of President Donald Trump, one must serve the interests of their own country. The President is serving American interests, and I am serving Polish interests. In all of this, we are looking for those areas where we have a win-win situation, where both sides win and where both sides realize their interests within the framework of our cooperation. That is precisely how we operate, and at this moment, we are simply operating at a state level, disregarding all matters related to elections. We are fulfilling our duties as presidents of our countries - said President Andrzej Duda during a joint press conference with President Donald Trump.
