Kwaśniewski:

Duda is the favorite, but today I wouldn't bet money on his victory because the outcome seems open

- I must admit that Andrzej Duda is the perennial favorite in these elections, as he is the incumbent president, and with that comes both recognition and popularity. On the other hand, he has the largest political party behind him, so he is the favorite, but today, so to speak, I wouldn't bet money on his victory because the outcome seems open. More open than we might have thought a month or two ago - stated Aleksander Kwaśniewski in "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

Biedroń on Rejecting the President's Invitation: Duda Wanted a Photo Op to Circulate the Globe, Showing He's Not as Intolerant or Xenophobic as Painted

- It seems that President Duda has made so many mistakes, crossed so many lines, that today the most sensible solution before sending that invitation will be an apology. Not an apology to me or my loved ones, but an apology to the millions of Poles who feel offended today - said Robert Biedroń in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- We know well, and perhaps my mother explained it best, saying in simple terms how she sees it. It's quite clear that President Duda wanted to get a photo opportunity that would circle the globe, showing that he is not as intolerant, not as xenophobic as he is portrayed, and it would likely be used for his presidential campaign. Polls are plummeting - Biedroń added.

08:08

Kwaśniewski:

My Wife Has Arguments to Vote for Trzaskowski, and I Have Strong Arguments to Vote for Biedroń

- My wife has arguments to vote for Rafał Trzaskowski, and I, as a person of the Left, have strong arguments to vote for Robert Biedroń and I appeal to people of the Left to vote in the first round, in line with the logic of the first round of presidential elections, for those who are politically and programmatically closest to us - stated Aleksander Kwaśniewski in the "Piasecki Conversation" on TVN24.

08:11

Biedroń:

If Duda Truly Wants to Atone for His Sins, a Ready-Made Bill on Hate Crimes Exists

- If President Duda truly wants to atone for his sins, there is a ready-made bill on hate crimes. A bill that has been repeatedly rejected in the Sejm by the votes of PiS and PO. A bill supported by the Council of Europe and the UN. It would be worth implementing it – said Robert Biedroń on Polsat News.

08:12

Biedroń:

Trzaskowski is a right-wing candidate representing 15 years of the right-wing that has been destroying Poland
I am a left-wing candidate, and Rafał Trzaskowski is a right-wing candidate who represents this camp for 15 years of the right-wing that has been destroying Poland and that has been liquidating bus and train connections, has not built 3 million homes for people waiting for them, and has been closing schools and hospitals - Robert Biedroń said in Polsat News.

08:14

Dworczyk on President's Meeting with Trump: "Poland and the United States are Tested Allies, and Both Presidents Have Good Relations"
"All I can say is that Poland and the United States are tested allies. The United States cooperates very closely, and the American administration cooperates very closely with the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland. Personally, both presidents also have good relations. These relations translate into both meetings and phone calls. Such ongoing cooperation takes place and lasts all the time", said Minister Michał Dworczyk, Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, on Jedynka radio.

08:16

Dworczyk:

Defense and Security are a Shared Concern for All Poles; We Should All Work to Strengthen This Potential, Not Use It for Current Political Games

I am very concerned about a situation where matters that should be above the current political dispute, and such matters include Poland’s security and our country’s defense potential, are beginning to become a current campaign topic, and this is precisely how Mr. Trzaskowski is behaving. Defense and security is a shared concern for all Poles, and we should all work here to strengthen this potential, not use this issue for current political games” – said the Head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Minister Michał Dworczyk, on Radio Jedynka.

08:17

Kwaśniewski:

The gesture of inviting Biedroń to the Palace is meant to be a powder for a severe homophobia disease

- In my opinion, this attack on LGBT did not arise by chance. It is part of a strategy, namely creating an enemy, a non-existent one, but creating an enemy. Some went too far, because Mr. Czarnek's statements were already so extreme, that wasn't the intention. They evoked a very negative reaction, and there is an attempt to limit the negative consequences. And this gesture of inviting [Biedroń] to the Palace is meant to be just such a powder for the severe disease of homophobia that afflicts some people, but also PiS voters. So, I would be very cautious about accepting these invitations, because this is about a campaign effect - stated Aleksander Kwaśniewski in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:20

Budka:

Rafał will participate in the debate because for us every viewer is important. We have respect for viewers, not for what public television is doing
“Rafał will participate in this debate because for us every viewer is important. We have respect for the viewers, without having respect for what public television is doing. It won’t be an equal fight. The regulations are created in such a way that President Duda can have a very strong ally in the form of the host, but Rafał will cope with that too. It is important that during these few minutes that Rafał Trzaskowski will have in total, viewers who often don’t have the opportunity to see the truth about him, can hear his views, can see him” – said PO chairman Borys Budka in a conversation with Dominika Wielowieyska on Radio TOK FM’s Morning Show.

08:32

Budka:

I Expect the National Security Council to be Convened if Decisions Regarding the Increase of the American Contingent in Poland are to be Made

If it were true that any decisions are to be made in this regard [additional presence of American troops in Poland], then I remind you that building Poland’s security should be based on two pillars: the EU and joint actions, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. All decisions should be made in such a way that we increase the security of the continent, that we increase the security of the entire Union, and of Poland. This would be [increasing the number of American troops] a good accent at the end of this bad presidency. Building the president’s position has failed, he is not a person who, in my opinion, inspires respect or positive connotations on the international stage, so even if it is this type of declaration, I don’t think it will change anything” - said the Civic Platform leader Borys Budka in TOK FM.

I expect the National Security Council to be convened if decisions are to be made regarding the increase of the American contingent in Poland” - he added.

08:32

Szczerski on PAD's US Visit: 'If such an official invitation materializes, the visit and meeting will take place'

- If such an official invitation materializes, the visit and meeting will take place. It is obvious that in such situations the invitation must come from the inviting party, and it's difficult for the guest to announce such a meeting - said Krzysztof Szczerski in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Polskie Radio Program III's 'Political Salon'.

08:34

Budka:

It's hardly surprising that PiS resorts to dividing Poles when they're struggling and President Duda lacks a vision for Poland's future

"It's disgusting that such topics or attacks on any social groups are used for election campaign purposes. We knew something like this would happen. It's hardly surprising that PiS resorts to dividing Poles when they're struggling and President Duda lacks a vision for Poland's future in 10, 20, or 30 years. We will always stand by the side of the weaker," said Civic Platform leader Borys Budka on TOK FM.

08:37

Szczerski on US Embassy Intervention Report Regarding PAD's Remarks on LGBT: 'This Article is Utter Absurdity and a Disgrace'. The Editorial Team Should Buy Out the Entire Print Run from All Newsstands.

- I am absolutely astonished. This article that appeared today is some kind of complete absurdity and a disgrace, really. I think it is now a matter for the newspaper's editorial team to convene a editorial board meeting, to consider how such texts can even be produced, because in reality, the editorial team should this morning buy out the entire print run from all newsstands, withdraw it, and change it - said Krzysztof Szczerski on Radio Trójka.

08:46

Szczerski:

MP Biedroń's Mother Emotionally Asks for a Meeting, Then the President Arranges It, Only to Learn It's All About Politics, Not Defending People's Rights

- This is, in my personal opinion, a rather sad story, because if someone, and this was the case, like MP Biedroń's mother, involving the media in such an emotional way, speaking emotionally about wanting to defend the rights of people like her son and asking for a meeting with the president, after which the president arranges that meeting at the first available opportunity, then we learn that it's all a matter of politics and that the real issue isn't defending the rights of these people – Krzysztof Szczerski said on Radio Trójka.

10:09

Jaki:

We Gave Platforma a Chance to Restart Their Campaign, Which Was on the Defensive. It Could Have Ended with the Party's Surrender After Kidawa-Błońska

- [PiS'] initiatives have not lost anything at all. There are certain problems, but above all, we have given the Civic Platform a chance to restart its campaign, which was in complete defense. It might have ended with the Civic Platform lowering its banner entirely after Kidawa-Błońska - stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- From the beginning, I said that this was not about any epidemiological events, because as you can see, from an epidemiological point of view, practically nothing has changed in Poland since then. However, I said that the Platforma claims it's about the safety of Poles, but in reality, they want to change the candidate. And it's no longer about who that candidate is, whether it's Trzaskowski or anyone else. This simply gave the PO campaign a chance to restart - he continued.

10:20

Jaki:

The campaign needs to shift to credibility. I said Trzaskowski would discard his electoral program as Warsaw's mayor, and that's exactly what happened.
The campaign right now needs to shift to elements related to credibility. I said it would be like this, that Rafał Trzaskowski, upon becoming the mayor of Warsaw, would simply throw his electoral program into the bin, and that is exactly what happened – stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus. - Moreover, if any of you would like to verify if I'm telling the truth, please do. There is the Trzaskowski Watch website, where his promises are listed very precisely, with dates, and it turns out that out of 79 promises he made, he hasn't kept 72 – he continued.

10:23

Jaki:

It's Unthinkable to Me That Someone Who Wrote a Resolution Against Their Own Country Could Become President of Poland
People like Rafał Trzaskowski wrote resolutions against Poland, constantly putting obstacles in our way. Because it's evident that things simply didn't go well for them in Poland, and people see the contrast between us and them. They constantly hinder us in Europe, lying about our country. And today, you get to choose. It's unthinkable to me that someone who wrote a resolution against their own country could become President of Poland. In which other country could you see something like that? - stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

Biedroń to President Duda: I Accept Your Invitation, But Only If You Say One Simple Word That Will Mean a Lot to Millions of Poles. Say 'I'm Sorry.'
I wanted to refer to one very important issue that I believe should also be clarified today. I would like to thank President Duda for the invitation extended to me and my mother. It is certainly an important gesture, a moment, because it is worth talking. I am a man of dialogue, and every time someone invites me to this dialogue, I would like to take the opportunity to talk. And in this case as well, I would like to tell Mr. President that I accept this invitation. However, I accept it under one condition, which is, I believe, what the whole of Poland is talking about today, surprised and disappointed by the President's words. President Duda, in his words, insulted Poles, Polish women. He used words that should never be uttered in public debate. Especially in a country so profoundly marked by World War II. In a country where, exactly 80 years ago, the first transports of prisoners to Auschwitz began - stated Robert Biedroń at a press briefing in front of the Presidential Palace. - The responsibility of the head of state, the president in a democratic country, is to uphold the equal rights of all, but also to temper their statements. To use language that will unite, not divide. Language that will not offend. That will not recall the darkest chapters of Poland's history. Therefore, Mr. President, at this important moment for Poland, just before the presidential elections, I would like to thank you once again for this invitation. However, I would also like, on the anniversary of the death of a great symbol for Poles, Jacek Kuroń, who always stood on the side of human dignity, to ask you to recall his words. Kuroń once said that even a minority of one requires our defense. Mr. President, this minority is not a minority of one. Today, millions of Polish women and men have stood on the side of this minority. Today, here, in this place, stand mothers who are asking you to apologize. So, yes, I accept this invitation, but under one condition. That you say one simple word, which costs little, but will mean a lot to millions of Poles. Say 'I'm sorry.' Unfortunately, that word has been missing to this day - he continued.

11:38

Biedroń on the President's Invitation: It Remains Valid for Me Due to Respect and the Majesty of the Office. It Should Be Accepted When Those Important Words for Millions of Poles Are Spoken. Simply 'I Apologize'

- This invitation remains valid for me due to respect and the majesty of the office. I believe that if the President of the Republic of Poland invites, then that invitation should be accepted. But it should be accepted when those important words for millions of Poles are spoken. Simply 'I apologize,' simply a word that needs to be said at the right moment - Robert Biedroń said during a press conference.

11:47

Biedroń:

The President is going to Trump to warm up his image. I hope he doesn't let himself be photographed nearly kneeling before Trump

- [The President] is going to President Trump to warm up his image, to warm up his skin. Only I'm already in the context of photographs. I hope President Duda doesn't let himself be photographed nearly kneeling before Trump - said Robert Biedroń during a press conference.

11:55

Biedroń:

I Regret That the TVN Debate Will Likely Not Happen, and Even the Polsat One, Because the Candidates of Schetyna and Budka Called Off the Debate Together with the Candidates of Kaczyński and Morawiecki

- Of course, this debate [on TVP] will not be equal. It is already being organized today in such a way that it is not a debate; these are rather six-minute speeches in total, which have nothing to do with a debate. I regret, Mr. Editor, that the debate on TVN and even on Polsat will likely not take place, from what I hear. It has already been called off by Newsweek, because the PO candidate, Grzegorz Schetyna and Borys Budka, Rafał Trzaskowski, called off this debate together with the candidate of Jarosław Kaczyński and Prime Minister Morawiecki, i.e., Andrzej Duda - said Robert Biedroń during a press conference.

PMM Announces Estonian CIT:

One of the Most Modern Tax Solutions in the World.

- Poland will also need additional specialists. I believe this tax solution will mean we will boldly need new specialists, including from the Polish emigration of the last 15 years, so I am addressing this now and appealing to Poles who have gone abroad. Here, thanks to these tax solutions, among the most modern in the world, there will be a need to exist in the country, or there will be an opportunity for new enterprises to emerge, and existing ones will be able to develop. This, in turn, will mean attracting or creating new jobs, so we will need you here too, and this is part of a whole plan, a grand investment plan, calculated to create jobs in every municipality, every district, a plan by President Duda - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing.

- We want this to come into effect from the new tax year, meaning in six months. I announced this in my expose, and exactly as we said, in line with our motto of credibility, we are working on this this year, and the solution is practically perfected, which is why we can present it today. It will enter into force in the nearest settlement period, i.e., from January 1st - PMM continued.

We Would Wish to Further Strengthen NATO's Eastern Flank Presence in the Near Future

- Regarding the relocation of troops from one NATO area to another, no decisions have been made yet. For now, these are American decisions that have also not yet been operationalized. Primarily, we would wish to further strengthen NATO's eastern flank presence in the near future - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing.

Grodzki Appeals to State Electoral Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Swiftly Resolve Concerns Regarding Difficulties in Establishing Overseas Electoral Commissions and Polish Citizens' Access to Voting

I appeal to the State Electoral Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to swiftly resolve the disturbing signals regarding difficulties in establishing electoral commissions abroad and in Polish citizens' access to voting, because every citizen of the Republic, regardless of whether they live here or abroad, if they have the right to vote, that right must be fully guaranteed, regardless of their place of residence” – said the Marshal of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki, at a press conference.

13:22

Grodzki:

As a doctor, I couldn't give information to the partner of a terminally ill man because she was only a partner, not in a formal relationship. This alone convinces me that the issue of registered partnerships must be regulated.

Regarding the LGBTQ+ community, in the Senate today, we are not dealing with this issue at all. To be honest, I don't know if the President has finished his work or not. I know from press statements that MEP Biedroń’s mother said she would go to the President, but [only] after he apologizes for the disgraceful words spoken by the head of state, not to mention the words of MP Czarnek, which I found scandalous, and that's not all. I think they also caused strong outrage for the management of his university, KUL” – said Senate Marshal Tomasz Grodzki at a press conference.

As a doctor, I could not give information to the partner of a terminally ill man, or vice versa, because she was only a partner and not in a formal relationship. This alone convinces me that this issue [of registered partnerships] must be regulated. People, as our Christian teaching, Mediterranean civilization, our culture, and customs teach us, can be divided at most into good and bad people” - he added.

Trzaskowski with Warsaw Uprising Heroines: I Speak of the Need for a Strong President Who Fights Hate Speech. The Stance Represented by the Uprising Participants is Attacked in Public Media. There Are Boundaries That Must Not Be Crossed.

Over the past few days, together with Mrs. Hanna, Wanda, and Halina, we have observed with growing concern what is happening in the election campaign. We have clearly discussed that there is no agreement to constantly divide us, to constantly try to divide Poles, to set one against the other, because this affects us all, our dignity, the rights of all citizens in this country. If I clearly speak about the need for a strong president, I mean the need for a strong president who will oppose such phenomena, who will fight hate speech, the attempt to stigmatize anyone, but I also clearly speak about the need to build a community, because we have unlearned how to talk to each other. The Warsaw Uprising participants always teach us this – through their attitude, their entire lives, that one must not violate anyone's dignity, for any reason, and secondly, that we must rebuild community. Seeing that even such an attitude, represented by the Warsaw Uprising participants, can be attacked in public media, I want to clearly state that there are boundaries that must not be crossed” – said Rafał Trzaskowski, KO’s presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw, at a press conference with Warsaw Uprising heroines.

15:16

President Duda: It's laughable to hear candidates who, in Tusk's government, actively raised the retirement age, increased VAT, and brought in refugees, now claim they'll defend what you received from me and the government.

- Today, you can burst out laughing listening to some candidates who, as part of Donald Tusk's government, actively participated in raising the retirement age, increased the VAT tax for Poles together with that government, who brought refugees to Poland, were in favour of a quota system for bringing refugees to Poland, and today say they will defend what you have received from me and the government over the last five years - said President Andrzej Duda in Serock.

15:23

President Duda on the USA: I will do everything to strengthen excellent relations with the world's largest and strongest economy, and its most powerful military force

- Our companies are also investing in the United States, but above all, as I said, major American companies are investing in Poland. Am I satisfied with this? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am very satisfied with this, and I will do everything to strengthen these excellent relations with the world's largest and strongest economy, and its most powerful military force, because today this is an additional guarantee of our security - said President Andrzej Duda in Serock.

15:25

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Today is the First TV Debate. I Thought it Would Be One of Many, But It Might Turn Out to Be the First and Last.

- Today is the first television debate. I thought it would be one of the first, but it might turn out to be the first and last. I believe Poles deserve more, a substantive discussion, a presentation of programs, answers to questions, polemics between candidates, and the asking of questions to each other. None of this will be in the script of today's debate, but most importantly, it will not be present on other stations, except for TVP. We, as the campaign team, and I as the candidate who was the first to register for these elections, accept all invitations for debates - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a briefing in the Sejm.

15:28

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I Address Two Candidates from the Major Parties, Platforma and PiS, Today. Lay Your Cards on the Table, Finally State Your Programs, and Let's Start Discussing Poles' Problems

- I am addressing today, in particular, two candidates from the largest parties, Platforma and PiS. Lay your cards on the table, finally state what your program is, and let's start talking about the problems of Poles and how to solve them, instead of throwing in substitute topics, and further dividing Poland. You have settled into the PO-PiS war, but don't settle us in this PO-PiSness. Many compatriots want a different Poland, they want solutions to the problems of healthcare, education, environmental protection, and once again, I ask the government for the umpteenth time: what is the state of public finances during the coronavirus? Will there be a 13th pension in 2021? When will the law compensating for electricity price increases be enacted, because it was supposed to be at the beginning of this year. It is June, and this law is not here. And is it true, as voters are increasingly asking at meetings, that the government, that PiS wants to introduce a cadastral tax? I expect an immediate answer to these three questions from the government – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a briefing in the Sejm.

15:35

Tomczyk:

We Want to File a Civil Lawsuit Against Public Television. We Demand an Apology from Polish Television and a 100,000 PLN Donation to WOŚP

- Today, at this very spot, we want to file a civil lawsuit against public television, because a moment comes when one must say enough. A moment comes when one must say stop. A moment comes when one must say stop to hypocrisy, stop to propaganda, and above all, stop to lies - said Cezary Tomczyk during a press conference.

- For years, people who disagree with the authorities have been systematically slandered. In this case, it concerns President Rafał Trzaskowski. But in reality, when we speak of President Trzaskowski, we speak of all Poles, because today President Rafał Trzaskowski stands in defense of all Poles - he continued.

- Today, we demand an apology from Polish Television and a donation of 100,000 PLN to WOŚP. We want the witnesses who will testify in this matter to be the individuals who are currently engaged in slandering other people on Polish Television. Let it be Mr. Kurski, Mr. Pereira, Ms. Holecka, Mr. Adamczyk, let the court decide what the truth is - added Tomczyk.

Civic Coalition Demands Prime Minister's Briefing on Public Finances at Friday's Sejm Session. Budka: Given the Upcoming Presidential Elections, We Have an Unmistakable Feeling the Government May Be Concealing True Information

“We have been discussing local government finances since early hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the government has been shifting costs onto us related to financing not only actions connected with the fight against the pandemic, but we also have no support regarding issues connected with the realization of communes’ own revenues, which are threatened in this situation. In Łódź’s case, the first five months compared to the first five months of last year represent a loss of around PLN 36 million in PIT tax alone. I’m not even talking about CIT,” said the Mayor of Łódź, Hanna Zdanowska, at a press conference.

“The state budget is currently a great mystery. More and more experts are informing and alarming that the actual state of public finances is unknown. Given the upcoming presidential elections, we have an unmistakable feeling that the government may be concealing true information regarding the state of the state budget. That is why, as the Civic Coalition club, we have asked the government to include in the agenda of the Sejm session, this Friday, the Prime Minister’s briefing on the actual state of public finances. It cannot be the case that more and more state treasury companies are on the verge of bankruptcy. It cannot be the case that Poczta Polska, due to the illegal actions of Jacek Sasin and the expenditure of PLN 70 million on elections that did not take place, is in a state of collapse,” said the leader of Civic Platform, Borys Budka.

Kantar Poll: Trzaskowski to Beat Duda in a Second Round 43% to 41%

Here are the results of the latest, June Kantar poll:

Andrzej Duda - 38%
Rafał Trzaskowski - 27%
Szymon Hołownia - 8%
Krzysztof Bosak - 6%
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz - 6%
Robert Biedroń - 4%
Marek Jakubiak - 0%
Stanisław Żółtek - 0%
Another candidate - 0%
Don't know/hard to say - 11%

Compared to the results from May, Rafał Trzaskowski saw the largest increase in support (by 9 percentage points). The percentage of supporters for Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (by 3 percentage points) and Robert Biedroń (by 2 percentage points) also grew to a lesser extent.

In contrast to the May survey, Szymon Hołownia's ratings fell (by 7 percentage points), as did, to a lesser extent, Krzysztof Bosak (by 2 percentage points), Marek Jakubiak (by 2 percentage points), and Andrzej Duda (by 1 percentage point). The number of undecided individuals decreased (by 1 percentage point).

The Kantar poll indicates that if the current president were to face Rafał Trzaskowski in the second round of the presidential election, he would receive 41% of the votes, while the Civic Coalition candidate would get 43%. In this scenario of second-round candidates, 16% of voters would not know how to vote.

Furthermore, if Andrzej Duda and Szymon Hołownia were to compete in the second round, the results would be similar – 41% of voters would vote for the former, and Szymon Hołownia would receive 43%. 16% of respondents would not know whom to cast their vote for.

This is a regular Kantar survey, not commissioned by any political party. Survey period: June 5-10. Sample: A representative sample of 986 residents of Poland aged 18 and over (presidential preferences: N=748 individuals declaring "definitely" or "rather" their intention to participate in the election). Technique: Computer-assisted direct interviews (CAPI).

Kwaśniewski on PAD's US Visit: Two or Even Three Campaign Days Wasted. In My Opinion, It Won't Yield Much
I generally have the impression that this [President Duda's visit to the USA] is a mistake. In general, any foreign trip and seeking external support doesn't work, and in that sense, it's a waste of time, because flying to Washington, spending some time there, and returning means two or even three days taken away from the campaign. In my opinion, it won't yield much, as nothing groundbreaking is happening that would require such a visit during an election campaign - stated Aleksander Kwaśniewski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń". Elections are taking place in Poland, and that's where one needs to fight for the Polish voter, mainly by focusing on internal matters. Foreign affairs are important in campaigns in virtually every country, but they are not leading issues, including in America - he continued.

IPSOS for Oko.press: Trzaskowski Ties with Duda, Hołownia Wins Decisively. Duda Receives Fewer Confederation Votes Than Trzaskowski
"A poll conducted on Monday and Tuesday (June 16-17) by OKO.press brings a breakthrough result: Andrzej Duda does not win the second round of elections against any of his three main rivals, and with Szymon Hołownia, he actually loses by 4 percentage points: 44% to 48%." - writes Piotr Pacewicz, reporting on the IPSOS poll for OKO.press.

IPSOS presents a projection for the first round, in which Trzaskowski for the first time achieves the "three" that Borys Budka mentioned to RZ before the results:

Duda 40%

Trzaskowski 30%

Hołownia 10%

Bosak 7%

WKK 4%

Biedroń 2%

Ipsos also analyzed voter flows in the second round:

Duda can count on:

97% of PiS voters (practically all);
10% of Left voters;
19% of PSL voters;
33% of Confederation voters.

Trzaskowski on:

96% of KO voters (practically all);
89% of Left voters;
61% of PSL;
42% of Confederation.

OKO.press notes the exceptional accuracy of IPSOS measurements conducted during subsequent exit polls.

Błaszczak on PAD's US Visit: We Can Be Proud of President Duda for Establishing Exceptional Relations Between Poland and the United States

- I believe this will be a very good visit. First and foremost, it is already important information for Poland's security. We can be proud of President Andrzej Duda because he managed to establish such exceptional relations between Poland and the United States. Undoubtedly, this is very good news, because whenever Polish-American relations are close, Poland's security increases - said Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's program 'Gość Wiadomości'.

20:35

Błaszczak:

We've Resumed Reserve Soldier and Preparatory Service Training to Offer Service in the Polish Army, Especially to Those Who Lost Jobs During the Pandemic

- We have resumed training for reserve soldiers and training with the preparatory service in order to offer, especially to those, first and foremost to those who lost their jobs during the epidemic, an offer of service in the Polish Army. The training itself is, of course, paid. In the case of reserve soldiers, it is PLN 3,500 per month, and for those who would like to tie their future to the Polish Army, i.e., join the preparatory service, it is PLN 1,200 per month and a severance payment of PLN 2,600, but above all, it is a secure occupation for the future – said Mariusz Błaszczak on TVP Info.

Duda:

Migrants Were to Be Forcibly Brought to Poland, and I Did Not Agree to That. I Believed It Was a Violation of the Rights of These People, Who Should Be Able to Go Where They Want in Europe.

- First and foremost, we are a nation of kind people. Of course, we are also a member of the EU. But every year, for years now, a great many migrants, arrivals from Ukraine, from Belarus, come to our country. They are among us, they live among us, they work in our country, and as a result, we are people who receive them warmly, who live together with them. From that perspective, we have no problem. However, these are people who come to us voluntarily, they want to be in our country, and we receive them warmly. We did not and do not agree to people being transported to Poland by force, and that is precisely what was supposed to happen with relocation. Migrants were to be forcibly brought to Poland, and I did not agree to that. I believed it was a violation of the rights of these people, who should be able to go where they want in Europe. But besides that, let us remember that we are part of a united Europe. We have our duties in it, which we perform very well. We help guard the borders and will continue to help guard Europe's borders - stated President Andrzej Duda during the presidential TVP debate.

21:12

Bosak:

Poles are a hospitable nation, but those sent by force are not guests

This program of forced relocation of refugees by the EU was introduced after broad public protests. I want to thank everyone who, a few years ago, compelled the PiS government to change its stance. Minister Błaszczak's initial position was to fulfill the commitments made by the PO government. At that time, Rafał Trzaskowski endorsed this decision. We should conduct an independent immigration policy. It should be a responsible immigration policy. Poles are a hospitable nation, but those who are sent by force are not guests. We must also approach the migration policy pursued by the current government cautiously. It cynically uses anti-migration slogans, yet over the last few years, the Muslim population in Poland has doubled. In other matters of foreign policy, we must proudly defend national interests” – said Confederation candidate Krzysztof Bosak during a presidential debate on TVP.

21:14

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Poland Should Establish Humanitarian Corridors

- Today, Poland has no foreign policy. Rising from our knees, we've fallen on our heads, and the policy being implemented is one where we accept 20 million tons of coal from Russia in the last two years, while Polish apples, Polish products, milk, and butter cannot be sold to the East. It's a policy under which we've accepted 800,000 tons of waste from Germany, but also from Nigeria. We have become a large dumping ground. It's time to end this. It's time to strengthen foreign policy, it's time to strengthen foreign policy, rebuild Poland's position in the EU, and take Great Britain's place, because only then will we be strong and secure. Regarding migrants, Poland should establish humanitarian corridors, as was once discussed. There are still war-torn areas; we should cooperate with the Catholic Church, with Caritas, and with other non-governmental organizations, because our tradition, culture, and solidarity oblige us to do so - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:16

Biedroń:

We Must Strengthen Our Position in the EU for Our Own Security

- First and foremost, we should be building bridges, not walls; that is the fundamental principle. We should be building a community, we should be building a home where everyone feels at home. Today, unfortunately, when it comes to Poland's security, we are isolated. The PiS government, and the policies of President Duda, have led to a situation where no one in the EU wants to talk to us – said Robert Biedroń during a TVP debate.

- We must strengthen our position in the EU for our own security, by building a community that will create space for everyone who would like to live in the Republic of Poland – added Biedroń.

Hołownia:

I Promised to Send Presidential Kneelers to Museums, But Perhaps It's Better to Send Them to Washington Before President Duda's Visit
- Refugees are one category, and economic migrants are another, and it's a shame the President cannot distinguish between them. When it comes to refugees, there are humanitarian corridors, and international law applies to us. If we want to have any say in the decisions concerning us made in the EU, we must restore Poland's position within the Union. That is why, as President, I will immediately appeal to President Macron and Chancellor Merkel to resume the work of the Weimar Triangle. I want the establishment of stability advocates in embassies who will look after the situation of Poles. I promised to send the presidential kneelers to museums, but perhaps it's better to send them to Washington before President Duda's visit – said Szymon Hołownia.

21:21

Trzaskowski:

Duda Speaks of an Imaginary Community, a Community for Suckers, and Unfortunately, When Such Words Are Spoken, It's Very Difficult to Get Anything Done in the EU
I am very glad to be here. I haven't been here for a long time. There is a chance for you to get acquainted with my views without manipulation, without interruptions. Regarding refugees, the problem was solved in 2015, at the moment the agreement with Turkey was signed, which was negotiated by the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk. There was never agreement on automatism, on coercion, but women and children need to be helped on an ad hoc basis. The problem is that foreign policy today is primarily about security, investment money, money for you. Unfortunately, President Duda speaks of an imaginary community, a community for suckers, and unfortunately, when such words are spoken, it's very difficult to get anything done in the EU. In the EU, we are the fifth biggest power and should be making the most important decisions, and today, unfortunately, the government mainly looks for enemies instead of allies, and banging your fist on the table can at best spill your coffee. If I become president, I will help the government on the most important issues" – said Civic Coalition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:22

Trzaskowski:

Poles Today Want a President Who Practices Values, Not Just Talks About Them. I Believe We Will Oppose Attempts to Incite Hatred Among Poles.

"I have said many times that whether religion should be in schools or not should be decided by parents. Today, Poles want a President of the Republic of Poland who not only talks about values but also practices them. What my catechist – a Franciscan – taught me, and what my parents taught me, is that we must primarily stand by all those who are weaker, and we must help all those who are attacked. These are the most important values. I believe precisely that we are all equal before the law. I believe that we will oppose if someone tries to incite hatred and pit Poles against each other. These are true values. The same as honesty, the rule of law, and above all, respect for the constitution. These are values that the President of the Republic of Poland should profess and practice daily, not just talk about them" – said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition candidate, during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:28

Hołownia:

I Can't Imagine Living in a State Where Father Rydzyk Scolds the Sitting President for 9 Minutes. I Will Commission the Supreme Audit Office to Audit Financial Flows Between the State and the Church
"Whether religious education classes should take place in schools and in what form should be decided by the school community, not ministers or bishops, but teachers, parents, and students. For the good of the Church and for the good of the state, the form of separation should be discussed and implemented. I cannot imagine living in a state where Father Rydzyk scolds the sitting president for 9 minutes. We must immediately commission the Supreme Audit Office to do so, and I will do it as president: audit financial flows between the state and the Church, the form of taxation of the Church, and help the Church settle its accounts, since it cannot settle its own accounts regarding pedophilia within the Church, and I do not understand why the president has not yet appointed his representative to the Commission for the Fight Against Pedophilia," said Szymon Hołownia.

21:29

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

As President of Poland, I Will Uphold Values Such As Truth, Justice, Goodness, and Beauty. I Will Care for Religious Freedom and Liberties, as Well as Respect for Every Person.

- As President of Poland, I will stand guard over values such as truth, justice, goodness, and beauty. I will care for religious freedom and religious liberties, but also for respect for every human being, for those who seek God and for non-believers. Because this is the foundation of functioning in a state. In my opinion, the problem today is not whether religion classes take place in schools. This is the case in most European countries. Ethics classes should also be available. The problem is that there is too much politics in the Polish Church today, too much politics. It is worth recalling the words of Wincenty Witos, from 100 years ago, but how relevant they are today. You must be watchful so that our faith is not exploited by those who constantly have God and homeland on their lips, but only falsehood and hypocrisy in their souls. The problem today is that we have good, friendly relations, just as Father Franciszek said: states must remain secular, because confessional ones end badly - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the TVP presidential debate.

21:29

Bosak:

The Istanbul Convention Must Be Denounced, Full Protection for Unborn Life Introduced, Harmful LGBT Influences in Schools Stopped

The topic of religion in schools is a substitute topic. In reality, there is no social conflict on this matter at the moment. Parents who want to send their children [to religious classes] send them, those who don't, don't. A solution that goes further in a libertarian spirit is the introduction of an education voucher, so that parents can create schools aligned with the value system they profess. They would have an educational program that they consider most appropriate for their children, rather than being confined to schools created by local governments or paying twice for the same thing they've already paid for through taxes, in tuition fees. Our value system is under strong foreign pressure. The ruling camp has done nothing to strengthen our culture and protect it from external influences. The Istanbul Convention must be denounced, full protection for unborn life must be introduced, and harmful influences of LGBT organizations in schools must be stopped by tightening school law, so that no sex educators can enter schools from the outside” - said Konfederacja candidate Krzysztof Bosak during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:30

President Duda: It Would Probably Be Easier for Both Children and Parents if First Communion Preparation Could Take Place at School

- The relationship between the state and the Church in Poland is regulated by the Concordat and the constitution. The fact that I appointed my representative to the commission concerning pedophilia has been clear for quite some time - said President Andrzej Duda during a TVP debate.

- Please look at Article 48 of the Polish constitution, which states that parents have the right to raise their children in accordance with their own beliefs. This is also the case in Poland with religion. It is present in schools, but only those children attend it whose parents simply decide that the children will attend this religion class. Consequently, I understand that there are also parents who want their children to receive their first communion. It would probably be easier for both children and parents if preparation for this first communion could take place at school. Generally, this is an element of freedom. Parents who wish to, and who hold such beliefs, send their child to religion class at school; those who do not, are not obliged to do so - he added.

21:36

President Duda: My Dream is a Better Life for Poles, a Wealthier Poland, and Secure Families Receiving State Support

- No, of course, I will not agree to such changes, and this provision, which is currently in the Constitution, is, let's say, at least sufficient. Marriage is a union of a woman and a man, which is very important to emphasize, because it is Article 18. Besides marriage understood this way, there is also parenthood, motherhood, and family, and this is a provision that is good and very important. However, let's say it openly, these are not matters at the moment that could be called my dream, because I generally believe that it is well regulated and should remain so. And here I will absolutely not agree to any changes. My dream today is what we are actually able to do for people. I would like Poles to live better, for Poland to be wealthier, for the Polish family to live securely, precisely so that this constitutional norm is realized, so that the family truly experiences special and comprehensive care from the state, and this is how I have been carrying out my presidency for the last 5 years, and I hope that Poles will appreciate it. - stated President Andrzej Duda during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:37

Biedroń:

President Duda missed the opportunity to apologize to millions of Poles for his words. Words unworthy not only of the President of Poland, but of any well-mannered person.
16 years ago, Jacek Kuroń passed away. Who better than Jacek Kuroń could eloquently speak to Polish women and men about our world of values. About the values we agreed upon in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, and this should be our compass when it comes to values. Today, unfortunately, Mr. President Duda did not seize this opportunity to apologize to millions of Polish women and men for his words. Words that are unworthy not only of the President of Poland, but of any well-mannered person. Even a preschooler knows that there are words like please, thank you, I'm sorry, which must be said when a mistake is made. Mr. President, you have made a big mistake. Today, it is appropriate to apologize, and I hope that you will apologize during this debate. Regarding the separation of church and state, none of the candidates has the courage to say it, but I do. We need to remove religious education from schools - said Robert Biedroń during the TVP debate.

21:40

Trzaskowski:

Public Television Seems to Be Focused on One Topic, My Program Includes Partnership Unions

I have the impression that public television has recently become a television focused solely on one topic. My program includes partnership unions, whereas today, at a time when the world has turned upside down, as we emerge from a pandemic, if we are discussing social policy and not the chaos that currently exists in Poland, for which the government is responsible, when we don't even know when the epidemic will end because the government isn't informing us, when there are a million unemployed people, that's what we should be focusing on. I travel all over Poland, where the government has left various groups of people to fend for themselves – people in liberal professions, people who rely on tourism, those from border regions, those who work in health resorts – these are the kinds of questions being asked in the debate today. That's what we need to concentrate on, which is why my program includes free nurseries and kindergartens for everyone, because today we need to fight for every job, and that should be the subject of the debate. I have scholarships for gifted youth. Today, we need to level the playing field” – said Civic Coalition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:41

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

A Referendum on Civil Unions is Needed. I Won't Agree to Same-Sex Marriage
- Look at the reality we are in. Over a million unemployed, today another 500 coronavirus infections, a crisis in healthcare, there's no medical fund, children with rare diseases cannot get state support, pensioners pay taxes on their pensions, they cannot get a decent, untaxed pension. 330,000 pensioners receive pensions below the minimum, young people don't have housing because Mieszkanie Plus (Housing Plus) failed and they need to be given 50,000 [PLN] for a down payment. This is in my program, and we will continue in the Polish-Polish war. If this is how it's going to look, then on June 28th we really need to go out, protest, remove those who are constantly sowing discord. A referendum on civil unions needs to be held because politicians haven't resolved this. I will not agree to same-sex marriage and I will not sign such a bill, nor will I agree to their adoption, but we've already resolved this 10 times. There are more important matters, healthcare, public health - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:44

Bosak on Same-Sex Marriages: I Will Not Agree to Any Such Changes. No One in Poland is Considering Them Either, Except for Far-Left Forces. This Question is Designed to Sink the KO Candidate and Improve Duda's Position

I will not agree to any such changes. No one in Poland is considering them either, except for far-left forces. This is a question designed to sink the KO candidate, whose words were quoted, and improve the position of the ruling camp and the incumbent president, Andrzej Duda. It’s a maneuver for less intelligent people who wouldn’t notice that the ruling camp has done nothing on this matter for 5 years, and neither has the president. I propose to stop foreign funding for this environment. It largely operates on foreign money, to tighten educational law so that organizations dealing with this topic do not enter schools without parents’ knowledge and consent. This is about stopping all provocations, not those who protest against them” – said Krzysztof Bosak, the Confederation candidate, during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:45

Biedroń:

LGBT People are Just a Litmus Test Today. They are a Symbol of This Contempt, Represented by Consecutive Governments, Both PO and PiS

- Would you like to live in a Poland ruled by these guys? They lack the courage for change. You enter politics to make changes. So that people can live well and be happy, so they can share that happiness. If candidates for President of the Republic of Poland lack the courage to fight for all people in Poland to be treated equally, then what do we need such a president for? A president must have the courage to fight in the interest of every social group. These LGBT people are just a litmus test today. They are a symbol of this contempt, represented by consecutive governments, both PO and PiS – Robert Biedroń said during a TVP debate.

21:48

Hołownia:

If Someone Tries to Convince Me That LGBT or LGBT Ideology Threatens the Polish Family Today, They Must Be Living on Another Planet. The Polish Family is Threatened Today by a Lack of Nurseries, a Lack of Job Opportunities After Maternity Leave.
- As I announced, I will sign the bill on registered partnerships, and I will veto the bill on same-sex marriages and adoption. If someone tries to convince me that LGBT or LGBT ideology threatens the Polish family today, they must be living on another planet. The Polish family is threatened today by a lack of nurseries, a lack of job opportunities after maternity leave, an unfair alimony fund, and the communication exclusion of 14 million people. As president, I will cooperate with local governments, which are currently being drained, to ensure there are as many nurseries as possible, and that Kaczyński's 5 bill - PKS plus - is actually implemented. And finally, I wanted to express my joy at the fact that the president appointed a member of the pedophilia commission after several months of delay - said Szymon Hołownia.

21:48

Bosak:

PiS and PO Support European Integration Beyond Publicly Debated Areas

"The deepening of European integration, which I oppose, is a question of the further directions of our foreign policy. If we want to talk about the economic aspects of European policy, then a much more significant, current, and real topic for discussion is the current project of the European Union incurring debt at the Brussels level, the creation of a new instrument that Eurocrats have wanted for years and never had. Andrzej Duda boasted that it was his letter that led to this new element of EU debt being created under the pretext of the epidemic. PO does not contest this. This shows that these two main parties support European integration beyond the areas that are publicly debated" – said Krzysztof Bosak, the Confederation candidate, during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:51

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

No one is talking about the Euro today. We have the Złoty, and it's going to stay the Złoty

- Whoever wrote these questions must have been really out there. They've landed on another planet, and we need to return to Earth, to Poland. In Polish homes, people are discussing problems related to the decline in industrial production, sales, jobs, and how to save their businesses, their families. Today, we need to introduce a voluntary Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), and that's a lifeline for many companies, giving Polish entrepreneurs, who create jobs, a chance to breathe freely. We mustn't punish them. Let's stop punishing people for working in Poland. Let's appreciate hardworking individuals through a higher tax-free allowance, and in reality, we also need to start with systemic changes, because we will be stuck in this crazy world that is concentrated here like in a lens. We cannot allow that. Today, we must respond to the necessary, real needs of the economy. Tourism is in a slump, local governments lack funds, we need to give them an investment voucher so they can start new projects. Education is underfunded. No one is talking about the Euro today. We have the Złoty, and it's going to stay the Złoty - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the presidential debate on TVP.

21:52

Trzaskowski:

The Accession Treaty Itself Obliges Us to Adopt the Euro, But Fortunately It Doesn't Specify When. Neither Poland Today Nor the EU is Ready for It

"The Accession Treaty itself obliges us to adopt the euro, but fortunately it doesn't specify when. Neither Poland today nor the EU is ready for it. The absolute interest of citizens is paramount here. When we talk about the economy, we must mention the immense chaos we are observing in our country. The government has absolutely no control over what is happening. People are afraid for their jobs. Entrepreneurs are afraid for their companies, Polish companies. Today, the priority must be investments, not gigantomania, not building the largest airport in the world, which may or may not materialize, but rather investments here and now that will create tens of thousands of jobs. That is precisely why I say we should focus on local government investments. I myself propose local development centers that could be established in every city to foster the development of these cities" - said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition candidate, during a presidential debate on TVP.

21:53

President Duda to Biedroń: You asked me for a meeting. You summoned me. I invited you, and you didn't come. A little seriousness and courage.

- Member of Parliament Robert Biedroń talks about courage. Mr. MP, wasn't it you who asked me for a meeting a few days ago? You summoned me, asking me to invite you to the Presidential Palace via the media. I invited you, and you didn't come. A little seriousness and courage - said President Andrzej Duda during the TVP debate.

Duda:

Fortunately, No Deadline for Euro Adoption; Our Zloty Has Protected Us Twice in Times of Crisis

- We are a member of the EU and when we joined the EU, we naturally agreed to the treaties that state the euro is the common currency. But fortunately, a deadline for adopting the euro has not been set for us, and that is very good because our Polish zloty is a currency that has already protected us excellently twice during times of crisis. The question is when should we adopt the euro? When should we start the discussion about adopting the euro? When it is in the interest of Poles, when Poles earn as much as people earn in wealthy countries in Western Europe. At that point, we should start the discussion about adopting the euro. We should calmly and coolly consider all the pros and cons - said President Andrzej Duda during a TVP debate.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I Propose a Pact for Health, and I Propose It to All Candidates to Sign Together

- We must start with healthcare reform. I propose a pact for health, and I propose it to all candidates to sign together. Hospitals need to be debt-free, treatment needs to be better funded, the pharmaceutical industry needs to be restored in Poland, salaries need to be raised, and bonuses should be introduced for the heroes who have been fighting the coronavirus for months. Procedures need to be simplified and healthcare de-bureaucratized. This is our most important task - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the presidential debate on TVP.

Biedroń:

If President Duda and PiS Continue to Govern Poland, We'll Adopt the Ruble Faster Than the Euro. This is What These Governments Will Lead To.

- If President Duda and PiS continue to govern Poland, we will adopt rubles faster than euros in Poland. This is what these governments will lead to. I am a member of the budget committee in the European Parliament and I observe how PO and PiS are occupied with each other, not with securing funds for Poland. They insult each other, argue about who will swap positions, but in reality, little changes for Polish women and men. That is why I proposed a plan for the reconstruction of Poland, 280 billion PLN, which will go to Poland - said Robert Biedroń during a TVP debate.

22:02

Hołownia:

I Will Submit Five Bills Shifting Billions from Faraonic, Foolish Investments like CPK to Solving Poles' Problems
- Of course, we must adopt the Euro, sooner or later, but during my 5-year term, this will not be the most important issue. The most important will be building those social structures that both Civic Platform and Law and Justice intended to build. Where is education that is not test-centric, and where teachers earn the average national wage, because this is an investment in my daughter's future salary when she finishes her studies? Where is 21st-century healthcare? Where is a serious conversation about how to carry out the green transformation and protect miners, not mines, ensuring they have jobs when they lose their current ones? These are tasks for the president. In Kołobrzeg, I presented my program for the economy of the future and there I stated directly that within five months of my term, I will submit five bills that will shift billions of zlotys from these faraonic, foolish investments like CPK to solving the problems of Poles - said Szymon Hołownia.

Trzaskowski:

Where is the oncology program? I clearly stated that money from the liquidation of TVP Info could be allocated to this purpose.

- Poles should have access to such a vaccine. However, today we primarily want to know, and these are questions for the President, for the government, whether the epidemic has ended, whether it has not ended. Whether the decisions made in recent weeks were definitely rational. Where is the oncology program, if we are talking about healthcare? I clearly stated that money from the liquidation of TVP Info could be allocated to this purpose. At least some money would be available for this. I don't know if President suddenly likes Jacek Kurski, but you can find that money there. We have the right to know if normal scheduled surgeries will finally happen and when in Polish hospitals. We have the right to know if children will return to schools and when. Today, difficult questions must be asked to those in power, and for that, a strong president is needed to take care of those who have been left to themselves today, to address unemployment, to save jobs. Such difficult questions must be asked to the government at this moment, not just remain silent - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a TVP debate.

22:12

Duda:

With Some Surprise, I Hear Gentlemen Who Served 8 Years in Tusk's Government Complain About Healthcare. They Had 8 Years to Fix It.

- The [coronavirus] vaccine, once it is truly invented, should first be thoroughly examined here, and then, if approved, it should be universally available, primarily for seniors, and should be free of charge for them. However, whoever wants to use this vaccine and get vaccinated, will do so. That is to say, it should be voluntary, just like with the flu – stated President Andrzej Duda during the presidential debate on TVP.

- However, with some surprise, I hear gentlemen here, especially those who participated for 8 years, some of them in Donald Tusk's government, some for shorter periods, complaining about the current state of healthcare. They had 8 years to fix it. Back then, 50 billion PLN in VAT was stolen annually, and somehow you gentlemen weren't as responsible then to prevent it. Back then, in 2015, over 70 billion PLN was spent on Polish healthcare. Today, it's over 104 billion. Precisely because this theft has been blocked, these funds are partly from there. That's why we are fixing Polish healthcare and serving citizens – he continued.

22:13

Biedroń:

Listening to today's politicians, a vaccine against hatred would be more useful, as it seems the Polish political class is suffering from it.

- When I listen to today's politicians, a vaccine against hatred would be more useful, because it seems the Polish political class is suffering from it. We all long for such a vaccine. Today, the PiS government has failed us. They did not keep their word that we would be safe in their hands - said Robert Biedroń during a TVP debate.

22:17

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

For Me, There Is No More Important Matter Than Restoring Community in Poland

- For me, there is no more important matter than restoring community in Poland, because Poland's security is threatened by social division and conflicts. Other candidates have also noticed this, but only as a doctor, politician, and local government official am I capable of precisely stitching Poland back together, this Poland torn in half today. I am not interested in disputes from the past, this PO-PiS war they are dragging us into. On June 28th, we can end this; let's choose the future, not a fight between styrofoam and concrete. Poland today needs to overcome three crises: a health crisis, an economic crisis, and a political-constitutional crisis. This can only be done through cooperation, caring for everyone, not just the chosen few. Respecting diversity, I will build unity. I ask you for your votes. In the first round, you vote according to your own choice; there are no wasted votes - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the TVP presidential debate.

22:17

In My First Year as President, I Want to Focus on Healthcare Reform and Collaboration
"I want to deal with things that exist, not with things that don't. If a vaccine is developed, I will ask those who know – virologists, the Minister of Health – and the decision will certainly be good for the health of Poles. In my first year as president, I want to focus on cooperation with parties that haven't done so far, or exert civic pressure on them to build the foundations for modern healthcare, hospital debt relief, healthcare in local government, outpatient specialist care, and prevention, which is an investment to pay less in a few years for hospitals, the most expensive part of the system, and financial incentives in medical professions. This applies to doctors, nurses, and paramedics alike. Health is a matter of security, and the RBN [National Security Bureau], which I will convene quarterly, will deal with it, as the ongoing epidemic has shown how important this issue is," said Szymon Hołownia.

22:20

Biedroń:

On June 28th, We Can Choose the Poland of Our Dreams. We Don't Have to Decide Between the Greater Evil of PiS and the Lesser Evil of PO

- Ladies and gentlemen, you know that on June 28th, we will be able to choose the Poland of our dreams. The Poland we have long waited for, and we don't have to decide between the greater evil of PiS and the lesser evil of PO. We know well that the things we have fought for over the years, such as a secular state, women's rights, animal rights, clean air, the right to housing, and the right to good healthcare, are within reach. It will depend on us whether we make this change, whether we have the courage to take Poland and all of us, our community, into the 21st century. For the last five years, they have been building a provincial Poland, a Poland where social disparities grew, where they lined their own pockets, and Poles struggled. Let's change that. The people of Słupsk once made a change. They believed in it. Today, it's time for Poland. See you on June 28th - said Robert Biedroń during a TVP debate.

22:22

President Duda: You know me for taking my commitments seriously; we will emerge from the crisis and return to good development

- These past 5 years have been a truly good time for Poland, especially when compared to previous governments. Lowered retirement age, 500+, 300+, child benefit packages, zero tax for young people up to 26 years of age. I'm talking about income tax. For seniors, the 13th pension and finally decent indexations. Poles are finally starting to live better. Poverty among children has been reduced to almost a minimum, but unfortunately, the coronavirus hit us. It was difficult for the economy, but we launched anti-crisis shields, and thanks to them, we managed to protect jobs. I believe we will save over 4 million jobs. There is a chance for further, very successful development. These commitments of mine are very serious, but you know me for taking my commitments seriously, and therefore you can be convinced that we will not only emerge from the crisis but, above all, return to the path of good development – stated President Andrzej Duda during the presidential debate on TVP.

22:28

Hołownia:

It's Like a Wedding Ring; If You Take It Off, It Doesn't Mean You Annul Your Marriage. And If Duda and Trzaskowski Hide Their Party Logos, They'll Still Have to Remain Loyal to Their Political Families.
- You've probably noticed that almost every one of my opponents today is trying to pretend they can be president of all Poles, but that's not true, because it's like a wedding ring; if you take it off your finger, or someone tells you to take it off for a moment, it doesn't mean you annul your marriage. And it's similar with politics; if Duda and Trzaskowski hide their party logos, they will still have to remain loyal to their political families. I too will remain loyal to my political family – to you, because I will be a civic president. Komorowski remained a Platformer to the end, Kwaśniewski an SLD man, Duda a PiS man. Likewise, I will remain civic. And I solemnly pledge that I will not be just the president of Poland for PiS, or Poland for PO, that I will uphold the provisions of the constitution, I will guard the dignity of the nation, that I will be for you - said Szymon Hołownia.

22:30

Trzaskowski:

I will cooperate with the government when it makes decisions that strengthen Poland, but there will be no agreement on violating the constitution
Ladies and gentlemen, my election slogan is 'A strong president and a united Poland'. Today, Poland needs a strong president. One who watches the government's actions. One who asks the government difficult questions. A fully independent president. A president who spurs the government to action when it is not acting. Today, we truly need such a president. Also, a president who, Mr. President Andrzej Duda, respects his signature. Today, we also need to build community. A community in which we try to relearn how to talk to each other. This is an absolutely fundamental matter today. From the very beginning, I said that I would not be a president of total opposition. I will cooperate with the government when it makes decisions that strengthen Poland, but there will be no agreement on violating the constitution, on appropriating the state, on trying to seize all independent institutions - said Rafał Trzaskowski during the TVP debate.

22:31

Bosak:

Poland Torn Apart for Years by the Fruitless, Destructive Conflict of Two Political Camps - PiS and Civic Platform. The Questions in This Debate Were Chosen to Amplify This Conflict and Divide Us Further. Poland Needs an Alternative to This Division

Poland has been torn apart for years by the fruitless, destructive conflict of two political camps - PiS and Civic Platform. The questions in this debate were chosen to amplify this conflict and divide us further: about the euro, religion, immigrants, LGBT, vaccines. Poland needs an alternative to this fruitless division. If you want more of this division, then vote for President Trzaskowski, for President Duda. If you want a real alternative, that is the alternative that Konfederacja has been creating for two years” - said Konfederacja candidate Krzysztof Bosak during the presidential debate on TVP.
