Prime Minister: For 30 Years, Jarosław Kaczyński Has Been the Most Attacked Person with Insults and Primitivism. We Must Say Enough, Stop Behaving This Way. This is a Fight by Political Elites Against a Man Who Fought for the Fate of Ordinary Poles
- Jarosław Kaczyński is the most attacked person, and sometimes strong words must be used. Do you realize what is happening in the Sejm? Truly, these outbursts, this arrogance, this verbal aggression is sometimes unprecedented. I remember a few years ago, Donald Tusk, who says it's impossible to live in one country, or MP Neumann, who says a shovel won't be enough for you people. Such words are never uttered; the level of aggression and these primitive attacks are so great that we must say enough, and opposition MPs, come to your senses, because we are truly dealing with something illegitimate - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in an interview with Krzysztof Ziemiec on RMF FM. - I will emphasize again, there is no equivalence here, there is no comparison between how opposition MPs attack and how Law and Justice MPs behave. For 30 years, the most attacked person with insults and primitivism has been President Jarosław Kaczyński, and we must say: enough, do not behave this way. This is a fight by political elites against a man who fought for the fate of ordinary Poles and brought about a very serious political change, and this is a thorn in the eye of our competitors - the Prime Minister said. - Sometimes strong words should be spoken to make the other side come to its senses. I have the impression that we are allowed to do less - Morawiecki said.

09:04

Morawiecki:

Warsaw Needs Help Assisting Officials and Mr. Trzaskowski in Distributing Budget Funds for Micro-Entrepreneurs. Other Municipalities Are Handling This Much Better. We Are Capable of Assisting Warsaw in This Endeavor to Aid Polish Entrepreneurs.
- Warsaw needs help assisting officials and Mr. Trzaskowski in distributing budget funds for micro-entrepreneurs. Other municipalities are handling this much better, and Warsaw has struggled. If only the Warsaw city hall wishes, Minister Maląg has proposed support. We are capable of assisting Warsaw in this endeavor to aid Polish entrepreneurs, because that is what is most important right now – Prime Minister Morawiecki said on RMF.

Prime Minister: Good Cooperation Between Government and President is Essential for Post-Coronavirus Development. The European Commission Already Sees Poland as the Dark Horse, Believing Poland Will Emerge Stronger from the Crisis
- Through the vote of confidence, we showed that we have a very united right-wing and we said: let's see. (...) Good cooperation between the government and the president is an essential condition for development after the coronavirus. Not so long ago, many European countries expected a giant, two-year recession, but today the European Commission already sees Poland as the dark horse, believing Poland will emerge stronger from the crisis - as the German press writes - Prime Minister Morawiecki said on RMF.

09:14

Prime Minister Morawiecki: Mr. Lewandowski said during the previous crisis: 'we were not susceptible to the dramatic calls of economic circles for stimulus packages.' We were – that's why we saved jobs.
- Civic Platform was selling off Polish assets: 60 billion worth of Polish assets sold off. Mr. Lewandowski said during the previous crisis: 'we were not susceptible to the dramatic calls of economic circles for stimulus packages.' We were – that's why we saved jobs. What do we see in Spain today – a landslide increase in unemployment by one million. In Germany, a very strong economy, by 200,000. In Poland, it is currently 40,000. Every unemployed person pains us, but we must rejoice in the fact that Poland, according to international institutions, is doing excellently - said the Prime Minister. - We must take great care of jobs. We addressed these liquidity needs, because it is very, very late to revive a company later - said PMM.

09:19

Prime Minister: "We have micro and macroeconomic grounds to say unemployment won't be double-digit by year-end, and unemployment growth will be lower than analysts predicted a month ago. This is the economic news that pleases me most."
- We have micro and macroeconomic grounds to say that by the end of the year, unemployment will not be double-digit and the growth of unemployment will be lower than analysts predicted a month ago. This is the kind of economic information that pleases me most - the Prime Minister said. - Today, the forecast of most institutions is that the GDP decline will be at the level of 5 points, but I hope for a better economic result - the Prime Minister said.

09:25

Prime Minister: They changed their minds on 500+, maybe in 5 years they'll change their minds again on the Central Communication Port, regarding rail connections, but does Poland have the time? We aspire for Poland to be the fastest-growing country in Euro
- They changed their minds about 500+, maybe in 5 years they'll change their minds again about the Central Communication Port, regarding rail connections, but does Poland have the time? We aspire for Poland to be the fastest-growing country in Europe, which is why we are not only maintaining all our social programs but also developing our own investment projects. We are consistently talking about these large investments, and Duda's Plan, an investment plan, is a plan for 380 counties and 2470 municipalities where there's a need for water and sewage infrastructure, and road investments. Please look at the road investments between us and our predecessors – said the Prime Minister on RMF FM.

PM Morawiecki on US troop withdrawal from Germany: "I hope some soldiers will indeed go to Poland"

- I have such a deep hope that as a result of many conversations we have had and by showing what a solid partner we are within NATO, that some of these soldiers, currently stationed in Germany and being withdrawn by the United States, will indeed go to Poland. This will strengthen NATO's eastern flank - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in RMF FM, when asked about the US President's decision yesterday.

Polish PM: Borders with Lithuania to Open in Days, EU Talks Ongoing for "Green" and "Orange" Zones

- Yesterday I spoke with the Prime Minister of Lithuania and we decided to open our borders for each other within the next few days. Our services are already working today on developing an appropriate protocol. And since Lithuania has open borders with Latvia and Estonia, it can be said that with our three Baltic friends, the borders will be open within the next few days. As for the other European Union countries, we are discussing this at the European Council. Perhaps we will introduce such a protocol: green and orange – meaning those countries that are considered the most safe, and those that are not yet so – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on RMF FM.

- A little bit the other way around. We are discussing with the Czechs and Slovaks. On the principle of reciprocity, these borders are either open, or where we have not yet decided, our partners, which is understandable, also maintain similar principles – he continued.

10:06

Trzaskowski:

People often ask me if there’s anything that connects me with President Duda. It’s certainly a love for skiing

- It so happens that there is one thing, because everyone asks me very often if there is anything that connects me with President Duda. So, it’s certainly a love for skiing. As it happens, I learned to ski here, nearby on Olimpie. Everyone always told me here that if things get really bad, if people have had enough, then the knight from Giewont might wake up, so there’s a chance that this anger and this 'had enough' will indeed materialize here, in Podhale as well – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Zakopane.

- It seems that Podhale is a bastion of conservative thinking, but conservative thinking is based primarily on the fact that there must be equality, equal rules, and what the highlanders dislike and told me about today is the hypocrisy of this government. Because hypocrisy is probably something we all dislike – he continued.

Trzaskowski in Zakopane: "I Heard the Government Left the Tourism Industry and Instructors to Themselves, and the Biggest Problem is That There Isn't a Precise Plan"

- I heard exactly the same thing I heard at the Polish-German border, namely that the government left the tourism industry and instructors to themselves, and that the biggest problem is that unfortunately there isn't a precise plan. There isn't a rational plan for exiting the epidemic, there isn't a plan for when borders will be exactly opened, and yet it's known that if there's no plan, you can't plan it - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Zakopane.

- I am appealing to the ruling party to present such a plan, because from the very beginning of this campaign, I have been saying that one must be among all those who are uncertain about tomorrow, and I heard that today here in Podhale. There was supposed to be a voucher, and there is no such voucher. Incidentally, it was prepared by one of the politicians who comes precisely from Podhale. We need this plan, we need rational decisions and support for all people who are uncertain about the next day - he continued.

10:37

Trzaskowski on Signatures: From the Official Data We're Receiving - 60,000, but There Might Be Significantly, Significantly More

- From the official data we're receiving - 60,000, but there might be significantly, significantly more signatures. Seeing this incredible energy that we see everywhere, including in Podhale, where signatures are being collected in very many places, it seems there will be more signatures - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Zakopane.

10:44

Trzaskowski:

I've Always Said the Same, and I Can Repeat It Infinitely: Parents Should Decide on Religion

- I have always said the same thing, and I can repeat it infinitely when it comes to matters of religion. Namely, I have said that parents should decide, and I still stand by that. I myself learned religion in a catechism room, taught by strict Franciscans, and I recall those memories with great nostalgia because I truly learned a lot. However, religion, as I say, is primarily a parental decision. Today, we have the option of learning it in school. Many parents are satisfied with this, others are not, but the decision should simply be the decision of the citizens – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Zakopane.

12:36

President Duda: I want to continue being the president of Polish affairs, because that is most important to me

- Moments ago, MP Bochenek recalled what happened 5 years ago. So, ladies and gentlemen, I am running so that no one pushes us back 5 years. I am running so that someone doesn't come who will disrupt development, who will generate quarrels and arguments, who instead of building, will fight or be in conflict, as some announce. Building does not involve fighting, not hitting each other, and not hitting anyone. It involves calmly managing Polish affairs, and I want to continue being the president of Polish affairs, because that is most important to me, and that is precisely why I am running for president, for Polish affairs - stated President Andrzej Duda in Stalowa Wola.

12:53

President Duda: 'I believe we will navigate the coronavirus epidemic safely economically, saving most Polish businesses and jobs'
I believe we will succeed in this task. I believe that we are navigating and will navigate the coronavirus epidemic safely economically, that the majority of Polish businesses and jobs in our country will be saved, because that is the most important thing. Through calm cooperation. By listening to the voice of entrepreneurs, by listening to the voice of the people, to what is needed. That is what must be provided. Of course, there are entrepreneurs who say: 'You would have done better if you had borrowed.' That can be debated. But among all these discussions, the most important thing is that the results are constructive. The most important thing is to save jobs, for the Polish economy to survive, and this is happening, and for that, I sincerely thank everyone involved, including you, ladies and gentlemen - stated President Andrzej Duda in Stalowa Wola.

13:20

President Duda: Anyone Advocating for Reduced Investments in Poland is Opposed to EU Plans and Modern Development

- There's a lot of talk recently about the European plan announced by the European Commission. It's approximately 750 billion euros, of which Poland, it is said today, will be one of the largest beneficiaries. Ladies and gentlemen, I want to strongly emphasize. This is an investment plan, it clearly states: this is money for investments that are meant to lead Europe out of the economic crisis. Anyone who says today that they want to limit investments in Poland is against the EU's plans, against modern development, and against economic principles that have helped the world out of crises numerous times, just as after the Great Depression and World War II, when the Marshall Plan built Western Europe into one of the world's fastest-developing regions. So, we also want to participate in this grand plan of powerful, strategic investments, amounting to billions of euros. This is a great undertaking, in which I deeply believe, and which will lead Poland to the peaks of development among EU countries. This is precisely what we want, this is what we strive for, and I guarantee you this pursuit. This is our path. Let others come to work here - stated President Andrzej Duda in Stalowa Wola.

13:36

President Duda: Tourist Vouchers Will Be Issued Like '500+'. Families to Receive Vouchers for Children, Worth 500 PLN Per Child for Holiday Expenses
Much has been said recently about the so-called tourist voucher, intended to support the Polish tourism industry, which has indeed found itself in a very difficult situation. Who knows, perhaps it is the most difficult situation of all. But I would like it to be supported through Polish families, meaning these funds will be issued in the same way, this tourist voucher will be issued in the same way as the '500+'. Families will receive a tourist voucher per child. It will be 500 PLN for every child in the family, to be used for tourism and leisure needs, trips, summer camps, holidays, everything related to that. Polish entrepreneurs providing tourism services across the country will benefit from this. I will speak about this in detail in the coming days, but we are practically ready with this, and I hope that families, children, and young people will be able to use it this summer, and ultimately, that these funds will make life easier for families and reach precisely the Polish tourism industry in its difficult times of crisis – stated President Andrzej Duda in Stalowa Wola.

13:41

Kosiniak-Kamysz Poses a Question to Fellow Poles This Election: Do They Choose Responsibility and a Poland Where Everyone Has a Place?
"I want to ask my fellow Poles a question in this election. Do they want to choose responsibility and a Poland where there is a place for those who voted for a liberal Poland or a solidary Poland? Because there is no such division. There is the Republic of Poland, which is the home of us all," said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Polish Coalition's presidential candidate and leader of the PSL, in Tarnów.

13:54

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Echoing Jan Lechoń, 'I Do Not Allow the State to Be Appropriated, Our Freedom and Brotherhood Destroyed'

"Today – echoing Jan Lechoń, a fragment of his poem, and what the lyrical subject, Jan Lechoń, a co-founder of the Skamander group, says – I want to state. I do not allow the state to be appropriated, our freedom and brotherhood to be destroyed. I do not allow for party spirit. I do not allow for inciting one against another, for the sewage in Polish Television, for insults, for boorishness, for filth and hypocrisy in social and political life. I do not allow it” – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the candidate of the Polish Coalition for president and the leader of PSL, in Tarnów.

14:12

President Duda: "Family means family, and so it will be, it is. As our Constitution states. No one is allowed to attack this. As long as I am president, these values will be under the absolute protection of the head of the Polish state."
"Family means family, and so it will be, it is. As our Constitution states. No one is allowed to attack this. And I guarantee you, as long as I am and will be president, these values will be under the absolute protection of the head of the Polish state" - stated President Andrzej Duda in Stalowa Wola.

14:17

Duda on Jan Śpiewak: He was convicted because he fought for justice, because he dared to oppose the elites who supported the processes of simply robbing poor people

- You know this young man [Jan Śpiewak], you know his family, his views. You know that he is also a person who has often debated with me, criticized my actions and my views. We have democracy, he is allowed to. But he was convicted because he fought for justice, because he dared to oppose the elites who supported the processes of simply robbing poor, impoverished people, people who are stressed about where they will live. Because if someone takes over tenement houses and then imposes bandit rents, what are they doing? They are destroying people. He protested against this. He opposed it, he simply called things by their name, he fought, and he was convicted for that, for fighting in defense of people, for fighting on social issues. The President of the Republic of Poland could never agree to such a state of affairs, to this man being convicted, because there is no majesty of Polish law that could uphold it - stated President Andrzej Duda in Stalowa Wola.

14:39

Hołownia:

"With Head and Heart" - Our New Campaign Slogan

This is the day that marks the beginning of one of the most important moments in Polish history. Ahead of us are the three most crucial weeks of the last 30 years. During these weeks, precisely these, we will decide not only about the next 5 years. We will decide the fate of the next generation. I want to show you today the way we will navigate these 3 weeks. Two words that are a signpost and a prescription. I give them to you, to myself, to Poland, because she so desperately needs these words today. With head and heart. This will be our slogan, the new slogan of our campaign, the new campaign, because this is already the second campaign in such a short time – stated Szymon Hołownia in Warsaw.

With head and heart, because we will not fix Poland with fists or with throats torn from screaming at enemies. Or with smiles plastered on our faces every 4 years during every campaign, including this one. Again, both sides will promise us everything. The only question is why, when they ruled, and they did rule, they were somehow unable to do it until now. Still the same faces, jumping from seat to seat, from office to office, endlessly. Still the same manipulations, vaseline flowing in hectoliters from friendly media. We seem to be moving forward, yet with every step we are retreating into the past. Again into the holy war of PiS against PO. Paid for with millions of our taxes. PiS and anti-PiS. Anti-PiS and PiS. One side has stolen our faith, the other appropriates our hope. One incites and divides, the other, despite not showing an inch of an idea for Poland for 5 years, despite being unable to stop the steamroller crushing democracy, now presents itself as its sole savior. Both sides have paralyzed our imagination – he continued.

We have a different path and we will bypass you. We will finally move forward, laughing in the face of all these wise men who today convince us that Poles love this dispute, that they want nothing else. We have three weeks to tell them: we want something else, we want more, we deserve more, and we will do more – emphasized the presidential candidate.

16:40

Trzaskowski:

We've had enough of the equal and the more equal. We've had enough of situations where the authorities don't stand with the injured, but try to prosecute them. This cannot and will not happen in Poland.

Everyone in Poland says that change is needed in our country, and something is changing, because I don't think there has ever been a case in history where Krakow welcomed the president of Warsaw like this” - said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition's presidential candidate and mayor of Warsaw, in the former capital of Poland.

We've had enough of the equal and the more equal. We've had enough of situations where the authorities don't stand with the injured, but try to prosecute them. This cannot and will not happen in Poland when we manage to bring about the change we are all waiting for” - he added.

16:56

Trzaskowski:

We've Had Enough of Hate Speech, Attempts to Divide Us, and Moral Judgments. Who Are They to Judge Our Morality? If I Become President, I Won't Allow Us to Be Divided or Slandered. I Won't Allow This Language of Contempt

"We've had enough of hate speech, attempts to divide us, and judging our morality. Who are they to judge our morality? I want to say clearly that if I am honored with the highest office in the Republic and become president of our beloved homeland, I will not allow us to be divided, I will not allow us to be slandered. I will not allow this language of contempt" - said Rafał Trzaskowski, the KO candidate for president and the Mayor of Warsaw, in Krakow.

17:42

President Duda on the Inscription of John Paul II's Monument: 'Do Not Be Afraid' Is Written There. I Would Add, If the Holy Father Would Allow, Because He Didn't Say It, But I Hope He Would Say It Today: 'We Will Manage'
"Just a moment ago, I laid flowers before the office, at the monument commemorating your honorary citizen, Saint John Paul II, and on what you have written on this monument. Firstly, 'Defend the Cross.' This is precisely our value – the deepest, strongest, most powerful. This is over 1050 years of our tradition, our Christian identity. This is the root of our culture and everything that has made us better. But secondly, 'Do Not Be Afraid' is written there. If the Holy Father would allow, I would add to that, because he didn't say it, but I hope he would say it today: 'We will manage.' My dear friends, we will manage," said President Andrzej Duda in Zaleszany.
