The Bill for the Unheld Elections Should Be Paid Primarily by Those Who Made the Political Decision; The Time Will Come for State Bodies to Investigate Who Was the Mastermind Behind the Constitutional Turmoil
The bill for the elections not held on May 10th should be paid primarily by those who made the political decision, and the time will come when the competent state bodies of Poland will investigate who made the political decision and who was the mastermind behind this constitutional turmoil that the PiS authorities have inflicted upon Poland. Because we have no doubt about this anymore. A political decision was made somewhere, for political reasons, to circumvent the Polish Constitution and not introduce a state of extraordinary disaster, in a situation where this state of extraordinary disaster would not only help in the fight against the coronavirus but would also solve the problem with the presidential elections, which were and are scheduled in the Constitution within a very specific timeframe. Someone made a political decision to plunge Poland into this state of turmoil. No other body in Poland has behaved as decenty in this matter as the Senate, which from the beginning, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, did not freeze anything - stated Michał Kamiński in an interview with Agata Adamek on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

Kamiński on Presidential Elections After August 6th: All Opposition Leaders Agreed to This Amendment, Including Budka, Who Attended the Meeting

- All opposition leaders agreed to this amendment [assuming the presidential election law comes into effect on August 6th], including Borys Budka, who participated in the meeting, in the presence of the Marshal of the Senate Tomasz Grodzki, Jacek Protasiewicz, and Włodzimierz Czarzasty. Please ask all participants of the meeting. I give you my most sacred word of honor that before submitting this amendment, both Marshal Stanecka and I discussed it. Furthermore, at the end of the meeting, in summary, I asked if we were definitely adopting this amendment as a conclusion - stated Michał Kamiński in the "One on One" program on TVN24.

Komorowski:

Strategically Vital to Know How Many Days for Signature Gathering. One Day Would Be a Scandalous, Effective Political Scoundrelism

- Everyone has to calculate. The deadline is not indifferent, both for health reasons and for electoral reasons. Mr. Andrzej Duda wants the elections to be as soon as possible, because his support is draining away like from a leaky pot. And for example, Civic Coalition wants them to be as late as possible, because, for instance, it is strategically vital to know how many days there will be to gather signatures for candidate Rafał Trzaskowski. If there is one day, which Ms. Witek can manage, it will be a scandal and political scoundrelism, but perhaps effective - said Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka in the program "Gość Radia ZET".

08:30

Komorowski:

Kidawa-Błońska herself announced she was withdrawing her candidacy, then supported Trzaskowski, so it seems to me that all the rules of good manners in politics were observed here.
It would only have looked bad if someone had done it for her. I believe that these basic requirements of politeness in politics were observed here. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, who herself announced that she was suspending her election campaign due to conditions that do not allow for campaigning, etc. She herself announced that she was withdrawing her candidacy, and then supported Rafał Trzaskowski, so it seems to me that all the principles of good manners in politics were observed here - said Bronisław Komorowski on Radio ZET.

08:33

Komorowski:

Everything Indicates Trzaskowski, Gaining Momentum, Will Compete Against a Weakening Duda in the Second Round

- Today, everyone leans towards the thesis that a second round of elections is rather inevitable, and everything indicates that in this second round, Rafał Trzaskowski, strengthening his position, will compete against a weakening Andrzej Duda - said Bronisław Komorowski on Radio ZET.

08:36

Kamiński:

Kaczyński Lacks Arguments, Favors Force; Poland Lacks Such Options, For Now

- The [Kaczyński] party leader has his intentions, as he always does. That is, he would most like to use force against his political opponents. Jarosław Kaczyński lacks the strength of his arguments, so he would most readily resort to the argument of force. The problem is that for now, thank God, Poland does not have such possibilities, but he has already tried to do so. If we read that he tried to persuade Gowin, and Gowin did not agree, to introduce a state of emergency, because he lacked a majority in the Sejm without Gowin, it means that Kaczyński wanted to adopt the logic that in Poland, despite the pandemic, it is not necessary to introduce a state of natural disaster, which would solve many of our problems, but rather a state of emergency, which, according to the Constitution, is foreseen for combating an internal enemy – stated Michał Kamiński in the TVN24 program "Jeden na jeden".

Trzaskowski Asked About Signature Collection: "The Energy Is Unprecedented, Hence These Various Actions. We Are Only Allowed to Prepare for Signature Collection"
"Signature collection will be possible only when the election committee is registered. We are only allowed to prepare for signature collection, while the signatures themselves can only be collected after the committee's registration. I have been repeating this from the very beginning, but since TVP Info, and a certain editor, asked me the same question eight times yesterday, we are receiving such signals. Once again – there are various grassroots actions, I see this unprecedented energy, because people want to go to the polls in a democratic election. The energy is unprecedented, hence these various actions," said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition's presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw, in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News.

Trzaskowski Questions Public Need for CPK and Vistula Spit Canal: "Are These Really People's Needs Today?"

If we want real investments, the government should support local authorities. I am glad there is EU money, that the community is functioning, contrary to what the government tells us. I hope that in connection with this, there will be money for local authorities, because the government obviously leaves us on the front lines, but it doesn't want to help us financially, because if we continue our investment processes, it will help us get out of the crisis, while gigantomania is needed by no one. The largest airport in the world or the Vistula Spit canal - are these really people's needs today? I am not saying to give up on them. If the government is absolutely certain that it must implement these projects and that they are rational, then let it implement them, but not push them forward” - said Rafał Trzaskowski, KO candidate for president and mayor of Warsaw, in Polsat News.

Müller on the Tourism Voucher: "We've Heard Critical Voices in the Tourism Sector Regarding This Concept. There are Proposals on the Table Aimed at Specific Segments of the Industry."

- We've also encountered critical voices in the tourism sector regarding this concept, as this aid could be directed towards entities that have suffered to varying degrees. Consequently, we want to, and currently have on our desks, various proposals that are intended to be more targeted offers for individual companies or segments of the tourism industry - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter) on Radio Plus.

09:40

Müller:

We anticipate various initiatives at stadiums in the near future. We will likely announce this today

- We anticipate that various initiatives at stadiums will be possible in the near future. However, naturally with certain limitations. We will likely announce this today and then everything will be clear – said Piotr Müller on Radio Plus.

Patryk Jaki on the 2018 Local Elections: Trzaskowski Was Truly on the Defensive Throughout the Campaign. High Activity Led to Numerous Mistakes, Especially When Engaging with People

Rafał Trzaskowski was truly on the defensive throughout the campaign. The high level of activity led him to make many mistakes, especially when he engaged directly with people. He made a very large number of errors. I see that they have probably corrected their tactics now, because when they go out to people now, it's to PO councilors, so that what happened in Warsaw doesn't repeat itself” – said PiS MEP Patryk Jaki in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on the morning broadcast of Catholic radio stations “Siódma9”.

10:07

Jaki:

If it goes to a second round and votes are split 50/50, the Third Polish Republic always has a slight advantage. This was evident in the Senate elections.

This match will be very difficult. If it goes to a second round and votes are split 50/50, the Third Polish Republic always has a slight advantage. This was evident in the Senate elections. We need to take this into account. There was a high chance that the elections could have been decided in the first round; if it weren’t for all the confusion regarding the elections, perhaps the Civic Platform would have been finished today. I don't hide that I was a supporter of the constitutional, May deadline” - said PiS MEP Patryk Jaki on the morning program of the Catholic radio station "Siódma9".

Trzaskowski is a Candidate Tailored to the Soros-European-Dominant Bureaucracy, Even in the EP. He Announces He Will Act in Russian Interests. He's Turning the Capital Ideologically from White-Red to Pink.

"Rafał Trzaskowski is a candidate who is entirely new for the Third Polish Republic, because he is a candidate already tailored to the entire Soros-European-dominant nomenclature, for example in the European Parliament. And the fact that he announces today that he will act in Russian interests, meaning, for example, by blocking investments crucial from Poland's perspective such as the Vistula Spit canal or the CPK (Central Communication Port), or what he is doing in Warsaw, which is ideologically transforming the capital from white-red to pink. This is a foretaste of a new kind of presidency" - said PiS MEP Patryk Jaki on the morning program of the Catholic radio station "Siódma9".

Hołownia's First Major Speech Since May 10th and Economic Reopening. Appearance in Krakow on Saturday

- Hołownia's speech will contain a prescription for a bold and modern presidency. In Andrzej Duda's city, he will also present the biggest promises broken by him as President of Poland - says one of Szymon Hołownia's campaign staff, announcing tomorrow's speech, which, as 300POLITYKA learns, the presidential candidate will deliver at 1:00 PM in Krakow, in front of Collegium Novum. Our informant notes that this will be Hołownia's first significant campaign event since May 10th and the economic reopening.

The event is being promoted with radio spots. - Casimir the Great, Władysław Jagiełło, Sigismund I the Old, Stephen Báthory, John III Sobieski, Józef Poniatowski, Tadeusz Kościuszko, Józef Piłsudski, Andrzej Duda...? What kind of leader does Poland need. We invite you to a meeting with Szymon Hołownia. He awaits you on Saturday, May 30th at 1:00 PM by the Oak of Freedom under Collegium Novum. Of course, in Krakow, because Krakow obliges - says the narrator in the clip.

10:18

Jaki:

Trzaskowski Echoes Trump's Strategy of Labeling Media, But It's a Misstep in Poland

Trzaskowski is playing the Trump card, so to speak. Trump was the first to set the precedent by saying, 'Listen, let's not pretend the media are objective. Let's simply label them, show which ones represent which political stance.' This is what Trump did with CNN and other television stations. Rafał Trzaskowski is trying to do the same. The problem is that in his execution, I believe it's a mistake, because the situation in Poland is diametrically different from that in the United States. For a long time in III RP [Third Polish Republic], there was no pluralism among the major television stations in Poland” – stated PiS MEP Patryk Jaki during a morning program on the Catholic radio station 'Siódma9'.

11:18

Trzaskowski:

A Chasm Exists Between Prudent Polish Businesses and the PiS Government's Wasteful, Delayed Decision-Making

A chasm exists between how Polish companies, which are sensible, rational, save money, and care for their employees, are doing, and how the PiS government behaves, which wastes money, makes decisions too late, and doesn’t help companies like these,” stated Rafał Trzaskowski, Civic Coalition’s presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw, during a press conference in Zielona Góra.

Polish jobs are currently not receiving support from the government, because large companies, which should be the pride of our country and drive economic development, have been deprived of such support,” he added.

On Saturday, Kosiniak-Kamysz to Unveil 'Plan for Poland' for the Coming Years

As Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz's campaign team announces, on Saturday at 11:30 AM, the leader of the Polish People's Party (PSL) will present his 'Plan for Poland' for the coming years in Przybysławice near Sandomierz. This will be another political address during a political weekend – Rafał Trzaskowski and Szymon Hołownia are also planning their events, as we reported on 300POLITYCE.

PMM:

Fans Will Be Able to Return to Stadiums from June 19th, Occupying 25% Capacity
The Ekstraklasa (Polish top-flight football league) is kicking off. Today, the first match is in Wrocław at 6 PM, and tomorrow it's Lech against Legia. We are happy that we have managed to develop the appropriate mechanisms to return to play. To return to play, we had to foresee this possibility during the most difficult time. We met with Mr. President [Boniek] in April, in the first half of the month, when very few people, very few leagues, were thinking about a return, and some leagues had already cancelled their matches for the rest of the season. We analyzed all the pros, cons, possibilities, testing, testing, training, how to organize all of this to actually bring the Ekstraklasa back to the pitches, as well as the first and second leagues, and all the fans. To everyone who is happy about this, I would also like to share this joy, because for me, this is a signal of a return to the new normal. It is also worth mentioning that during this difficult time for the clubs, the Polish state did not leave them alone. Very many clubs benefited from state financial aid, because it is known that without fans and without matches, there are fewer funds and a smaller budget. The Polish state has allocated over PLN 25 million to various clubs through the PFR financial shield. Also, sponsors who, during difficult times, tend to withdraw from sponsoring clubs, remained with these clubs. State sponsors, state-owned companies, had no doubts that we had to get through this difficult period together. For me, football is something more than just a game, more than just a sport. It is a great, wonderful promotion of the Polish state, promotion of Polish business, our fighting spirit, our skills, our capabilities. And that's why I'm also glad that our Ekstraklasa will be shown in 16 European countries, that in various places people will be able to watch our talents, our game, and this is very, very good news, but this is not the end of the good news for today - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing. - The return of fans will also be possible under appropriate protocols and procedures. We spoke with the president again today to make it happen as soon as possible, and PZPN and Ekstraklasa have set the date for June 19th, so that everything can be calmly prepared according to the appropriate rules and procedures, so that people do not gather together. Up to 25% of the stadium's capacity will be allowed, and we will ensure that disinfection measures, ticket purchases, and access to the stadium at appropriate times do not lead to people gathering together. Inside the stadium, fans will be seated in a sanitary-appropriate manner, which will be approved by the relevant state and football authorities - PMM continued.

Biedroń Announces Two Petitions Regarding Miners' Situation: One to the Mining Authority for Workplace Safety Checks, and a Criminal Complaint Against PGG
“We need to say this clearly and plainly today. PiS has deceived the miners, it has deceived Silesia. We remember when a few years ago, PiS politicians eagerly and enthusiastically travelled to Silesia, to the mines, promising that there were 200 years of coal reserves and that mining would develop. Silesians trusted PiS. They elected Mateusz Morawiecki as their MP from that constituency. Today, when Mateusz Morawiecki visits Silesia, he does everything to avoid meeting the miners, to avoid meeting those who have been left to fend for themselves. Because when miners take to the streets, protesting against the catastrophic policy of this government, for example, appealing for 7.5 million tons of coal, Polish coal, extracted by Polish miners, to be used by Polish industry, Mateusz Morawiecki prefers to buy twice as much coal from Russia” - stated the Left candidate for President and MEP Robert Biedroń at a press conference.

“We are filing two petitions: one to the Regional Mining Authority in Warsaw, calling for an inspection of occupational health and safety in mines subordinate to PGG. We expect this inspection to be carried out immediately. The second petition concerns a criminal complaint filed with the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw-Śródmieście, regarding the exposure of people to direct danger of losing their lives or suffering serious bodily harm, thereby spreading an infectious disease. In our assessment, this crime may have been committed by members of the management board of Polska Grupa Górnicza” - he added.

13:09

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Local Governments Ready for Reopening, But Demand Government Guarantees on Safety, Health Minister, and Specialists.

- Today we heard the Prime Minister's declaration that Ekstraklasa, first league, and second league football matches are returning soon. The possibility of practicing sports for up to 150 people in open and closed facilities is also returning. We believe this has all been agreed upon with infectious disease doctors and epidemiologists, that everything is preceded by analysis. If that is the case, it is good that it will be possible to practice sports, that children will return to the pitches, to the 'Orliki' [small football fields], to fields like the one we are on today. We must enable all of this and provide security guarantees - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Leszno.

- Local governments are ready for reopening, but they must have government guarantees of safety, guarantees from the Minister of Health, and indeed from specialists in infectious diseases and epidemiology. This is what we expect, a clear declaration that such opinions exist and that these opinions enable the reopening of sporting events - he continued.

Biedroń Rally in Pabianice on Saturday

Tomorrow at 11:00 AM, a meeting with Robert Biedroń will take place at the Old Market Square in Pabianice. Our sources indicate that it will be a strong, political address in a rally format, adhering to all legal requirements and the permitted number of participants. This is another such announcement for the political weekend – Rafał Trzaskowski, Szymon Hołownia, and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz are also planning their appearances.

13:22

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Call for All Ekstraklasa Matches to Be Available on TVP

- We call for all Ekstraklasa matches to be available on TVP, on TVP or TVP Sport, because there is huge interest. This is the space for which we are also very hungry after a three-month break. We want to watch these matches. I hope this happens as soon as possible – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Leszno.

13:26

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Rumors in Sejm Corridors Suggest Only Postal Voting in Large Silesian Cities. I Expect a Clear Answer from the Health Minister.

- This information is circulating in the Sejm corridors, that only postal voting will be introduced in large cities in Silesia. I would expect a clear answer from the Minister of Health, but not one where he changes his mind every 5 minutes, as was the case with masks – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Leszno.

- If there are areas in Poland with a gigantic increase in cases, it is difficult to imagine a traditional voting method there, but if anyone exploits this politically, it will be another assault on these elections – the leader of PSL continued.

Biedroń:

The CBA Should Have Acted Long Ago Regarding Szumowski, But Oversight of the Agency is Led by the Minister's Colleague

The CBA in situations like this [regarding Minister Szumowski] should have acted long ago, but we know that the oversight of this agency is led by Minister Szumowski’s colleague. We, as The Left, continue to trust in the state, we believe there is no better or worse kind when it comes to the law, and we believe that justice will finally prevail” – said Robert Biedroń, MEP and candidate for president from The Left, at a press conference.

We are filing three reports. A request to the CBA to conduct an ad hoc inspection concerning corruption in state institutions, specifically in the Ministry of Health. The second request concerns an ad hoc inspection at the NCBR. The third request to the head of the CBA is regarding the MNiSW [Ministry of Science and Higher Education], also concerning alleged corruption” – he added.

Grodzki Plans to Become Acting Head of State Without Elections

- This is today's edition of "Super Express". It publishes an article which states, nothing more and nothing less, than that Marshal Tomasz Grodzki plans to become the acting head of state without elections, based on questionable constitutional analyses from his advisors that are completely contrary to the law. Marshal Grodzki wants to prevent free, democratic presidential elections from being held in Poland in order to take on this role himself - stated Adam Bielan at a press briefing.

14:02

Bielan:

Kamiński Confessed. A Plot Was Concocted to Prevent Presidential Elections So Grodzki Could Take Over as Head of State

- At the same time, today on one of the television stations, one of the co-authors, as I understand it, of this plan, Deputy Marshal Michał Kamiński, revealed it. Thank you for your honesty, Mr. Marshal, that this is the plan of the entire opposition. Marshal Kamiński, while a guest on TVN24, said: "All opposition leaders agreed to this amendment, concerning the amendment postponing the elections until August 6, precisely so that Marshal Grodzki could take over the duties of the head of state, including Borys Budka, who participated in the meeting in the presence of the Speaker of the Senate, Jacek Protasiewicz, and Włodzimierz Czarzasty. Please ask all participants of the meeting. I give you my most sacred word of honor that before submitting this amendment, both Marshal Stanecka and I spoke about it. Moreover, at the end of the meeting, in summary, I asked if we were definitely adopting this amendment as a conclusion." So we have the testimony, as I understand it, of one of the participants of the meeting, at which a plot was concocted on how to prevent the presidential elections in Poland from being held, so that Tomasz Grodzki could take over the duties of the head of state - stated Adam Bielan at a press briefing.

15:05

Fogiel:

Grodzki's Ego Is Reaching Such Proportions It Will Soon Generate Its Own Gravitational Field

- The Marshal [Grodzki] graciously states that the majesty of the state will be preserved if he replaces President Duda. I'm not aware of the Marshal running in elections, but that's the point. It's the Marshal's ego, which is already reaching such proportions that it will soon start generating its own gravitational field, but let's put that aside – Radosław Fogiel stated at a press briefing.

- I would like to know on what basis the opposition is hatching these kinds of plans, on what basis the opposition claims the right to bring about a constitutional crisis in Poland, to a situation where the president's term ends and a new president is not elected. On what basis are they reading the Constitution at all, they are clearly skipping every other page, because it is clearly stated that the duties of the president are potentially performed by the Marshal of the Sejm. The Marshal of the Senate is nowhere in this equation, so this is completely scandalous behavior – he continued.

16:39

Trzaskowski:

The Government is Committing to Large Infrastructure Projects That Make No Sense. I'm Saying It Clearly. Let's Redirect Funds from CPK or the Vistula Spit Canal to Healthcare

- Everyone sees at the same time that the government is making irrational decisions. It's making decisions about exiting the epidemic without caring about entrepreneurs. It's making decisions about committing to very large infrastructure projects that make no sense. That's why I'm saying it clearly today. Let's redirect funds from CPK or the Vistula Spit Canal to healthcare - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a visit to Nowy Tomyśl.

16:45

Trzaskowski:

I hope that since the European Union, contrary to what the government says, has proven to be a true community, there will be funds to help local governments

- I hope that since, fortunately, the European Union, contrary to what the government says, has proven to be a true community, with strong institutions proposing good solutions, although there are still difficult negotiations ahead for the government, we have good solutions on the table. I am very happy about this, that there will be funds to help local governments and that this shield, which is currently absolutely insufficient, is not just about local governments, it's about all of you, so that we can continue to implement all the necessary investments for local governments – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a visit to Nowy Tomyśl.

Trzaskowski in Nowy Tomyśl to Interrupters of Press Conference: I'm Addressing PiS Supporters. There are Journalist Questions, as I Know Life, from TVP Info. Just Let Me Answer, and Then We'll Get Back to Chanting

Rafał Trzaskowski's press conference in Nowy Tomyśl was disrupted by a small group of political opponents. These individuals attempted to shout over the likely future presidential candidate. After delivering his main statement, when they effectively prevented journalists from asking questions, Trzaskowski addressed them directly.

- Ladies and gentlemen, I have one request. I am primarily addressing PiS supporters. Listen, there are questions from journalists, including, as I know life, from TVP Info. Please, just let me answer the questions, and then we'll get back to chanting – he said.

After this remark, the gathered individuals remained calm for several minutes.

Czarnecki:

Zandberg is in a difficult position, defending a candidate who is now the Left's greatest defeat. I think Zandberg would have achieved a much better result, it's hard for him to talk about it.

- Mr. Zandberg is in a difficult situation, I even feel sorry for him, humanely speaking, because he now has to defend a candidate who is now, arguably, the greatest defeat for the Left. Mr. Robert Biedroń, who was supposed to be an alternative to President Andrzej Duda, is in last place among the six most serious candidates, with support several times lower than the Left's support. Not even potential support, but real support. I think Mr. Zandberg would have achieved a much better result, it's hard for him to talk about it - said Ryszard Czarnecki in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program „Wydarzenia i Opinie” (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

19:55

Zandberg on Biedroń's Weak Poll Results: 'I Think the Campaign Has Yet to Truly Begin'

- I think the campaign has yet to truly begin. It will start when we finally get its official announcement. At this moment, conducting a normal campaign is obviously impossible. This is one of the reasons why we strongly pushed in the discussions that took place first in the Sejm and later in the Senate for an agreement on the election calendar - said Adrian Zandberg on Polsat News.

19:56

Zandberg:

With the agreement of all political forces, we should simply adopt and conduct elections according to a calendar that raises no doubts.

- The problem is that PiS did not want to agree to include the election calendar in this act. I think this is the source of the doubts of the Senate presidium, which have emerged in recent days. From my perspective, the situation is such that with the agreement of all political forces, we should simply establish this schedule, this calendar, include it in the act, adopt it, and conduct elections in such a way that they do not raise doubts - said Adrian Zandberg on Polsat News.

19:59

Gliński:

Poland Must Make Its Own Decisions Regarding Our Economy, Judiciary, and Energy Independence

– Honesty and presenting our program to Poles. This is a program concerning social justice; Polish families are living better than a few years ago. This is a program concerning the expansion of Poland's sovereignty. Poland must make its own decisions regarding our economy, our judiciary, and our energy independence. This is also a program concerning Polish identity. Poland remembers its history – stated Piotr Gliński in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

20:03

Gliński:

Polls Have Returned to Roughly the Level They Were Before the Pandemic

- I think the polls have returned to roughly the level they were at before the epidemic, before the pandemic. This epidemic has unfortunately been a big or is still a big problem for all of us, but also for the whole world, and it has also caused very serious political turmoil. Among other things, it enabled the Polish opposition to hinder the fulfillment of a constitutional obligation, namely the holding of elections on the constitutional date of May 10th - stated Piotr Gliński in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

- The Polish opposition took advantage of the opportunity and made it impossible [to hold the elections on May 10th]. This is reprehensible, this is terrible, because it is a blow to the state, to the political community that is going through a difficult time. A storm has erupted on the lake, and part of the crew is punching a hole in the boat that is trying to sail through this storm. This is truly reprehensible - continued the Deputy Prime Minister.

Gliński:

For 4.5 years, the Polish opposition has done nothing but cause turmoil. It's trying to blow up Polish democracy and unfortunately, it also seized the opportunity that was the pandemic.

- The Polish opposition has used a rather cheap opportunity to hit the government again, to further rock this boat. For 4.5 years, the Polish opposition has done nothing but cause turmoil. It's trying to blow up Polish democracy and unfortunately, it also seized the opportunity that was the pandemic. This is very indecent - stated Piotr Gliński in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

Gliński on the June 28th Elections: The Senate Won't Stand in Our Way Anymore

- The Senate won't stand in our way anymore. Even if they want to deliberately delay by 30 days, specifically to destroy Polish democracy, I hope voter lists will also be issued, because there is no longer any excuse for local governments not to issue them, and thus, I hope the elections can be conducted honestly, calmly, and normally on June 28th - stated Piotr Gliński in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP: A Request to President Kurski to Broadcast All Ekstraklasa Matches on Polish Television

- A request to President Kurski, taking this opportunity, to make all Ekstraklasa matches, football, but also speedway, available on Polish Television - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in conversation with Edyta Lewandowska on the program “Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info.

20:25

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Regarding the elections, the Prime Minister should first publish the National Election Commission's resolution
- Regarding the elections, the Prime Minister should first publish the National Election Commission's resolution of May 10th. Without it, further steps cannot happen because we are in a constitutional vacuum - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

20:29

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

In the absence of constitutional rulings, we must have confirmation of the constitutionality of the election deadline through declarations from politicians and candidates

- A very important argument that I am presenting, and from this very place, I am requesting that all sides, all candidates, all political forces accept this decision if it comes to pass. In the absence of constitutional rulings, we must have confirmation of the constitutionality of the election deadline through declarations from politicians and candidates as well - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

20:32

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Potential Presidential Resignation: 'If the Marshal of the Sejm Couldn't Fulfill the Role, It Falls to the Marshal of the Senate. The Constitution Describes This, But I Don't Think It Will Happen.'
'There's no indication President Duda will resign from office now. In that case, the Marshal of the Sejm takes over the function anyway. If the Marshal of the Sejm couldn't fulfill this role, it falls to the Marshal of the Senate. The constitution describes this, but in my opinion, such a situation will not occur' - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

20:34

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

The Prime Minister is not publishing the PKW resolution. Why? It's probably 11 lines, it doesn't take much time to read.
The Prime Minister is not publishing the PKW resolution. Why? Why is there such obstruction in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and no publication of this resolution? It really doesn't take long. It's probably 11 lines, it doesn't take much time to read - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

20:38

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Elections Should Be Held on a Safe Date, One Not Questioned Constitutionally

- [The elections] should be held on a safe date, one that will not be constitutionally challenged. Most likely, the most probable date is June 28th - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

20:41

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

The Rulers Failed to Safely Conduct Elections in May, They Couldn't Do It. They Should Admit Their Mistake and Apologize

- The Prime Minister did not publish the resolution of the National Electoral Commission. The Marshal of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek, did not announce the election date. Where are these politicians from? Madam Editor, we will be discussing matters that do not depend on the opposition, because it is the rulers who are responsible for the elections. They said that the only constitutional date was in May. They were unable to conduct the elections safely in May, they could not do it. They should admit their mistake and apologize - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

20:47

Lewandowska:

You say the anti-crisis shield isn't working. If the money is sitting in the local government's account and not being paid out to entrepreneurs, how can it work? Kosiniak: The propaganda was from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM, now let's talk seriously.

- Please note that [the anti-crisis shield] is not meeting expectations everywhere, it's not meeting expectations in Warsaw, where for some reason we don't know, there are delays in processing applications. If the local government is incapable, it can ask retirees for help, it can ask those who have lost their jobs for help. This can truly be done. You say the anti-crisis shield isn't fulfilling its role. If the money is sitting in the local government's account and not being paid out to entrepreneurs, how can it work? – asked Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

- Madam editor, the propaganda was from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM, now let's talk seriously – replied Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

20:50

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

The Government Must Cooperate with Local Authorities, and Local Authorities with the Government. Everyone. As We See, It's Difficult to Achieve This Between PiS and PO

- I am ready for a serious debate and improvements, wherever such improvements are needed. The government must cooperate with local authorities, and local authorities with the government. Everyone. As we can see, it's difficult to achieve this on the PiS-PO line - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

20:53

Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP: I will compete with Trzaskowski, but I won't pick at him, especially on your television. I hope for debates where we can discuss our programs.

- I will compete with Rafał Trzaskowski, but I won't pick at him, especially on your television. That's not what this is about. I hope for debates where we can discuss our programs - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

21:02

Lewandowska to Kosiniak-Kamysz: You talk about publishing the National Election Commission's decision, but we don't have a law, we don't have a legal basis to function

- When are the presidential elections supposed to take place and why do we have to work on legal regulations for so long? Surely you also want good law. You talk about publishing the National Election Commission's decision, but we don't have a law, we don't have a legal basis to function - said Edyta Lewandowska, posing questions to Kosiniak-Kamysz.

- To the publication? - the PSL leader interrupted her.

- No. We don't. Our electoral law has not been amended. It has once again got stuck in the Senate. Why? - stated Lewandowska.

- Firstly, without a National Election Commission resolution, we won't take a single step forward. We have a constitutional vacuum in which we need to find a solution - said Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Dispute Over Major Public Investments Creating Jobs Set to Become a Campaign Axis: President and PM's Joint Initiative at the Vistula Spit, CPK on Wednesday: '30 Billion for a Major Investment Plan to Ensure Employment. The Opposition Misread the Moods'

An additional 30 billion PLN, which will create jobs through a developmental impulse for local economic ecosystems in all regions of Poland. Almost half of this amount will be released this year – 300POLITYKA has learned about the major public investment plan that the President and Prime Minister are set to unveil in stages next week.

Analyses from strategic centers working for the President and Prime Minister reportedly indicate that voters expect a "massive public investment program" – as explained to us by one of the head of state's closest associates. The joint initiative by Andrzej Duda and Mateusz Morawiecki, the outline of which will be presented at a joint briefing on Saturday at the "construction site" of the Vistula Spit canal, and detailed during a major event concerning CPK on Wednesday, is intended to showcase such a plan.

Associates of the President and Prime Minister responsible for political strategy have concluded that citizens, shaken by the first wave of the pandemic and concerned about the future of the economy, employment, and their own financial situation, expect greater state activity. In their opinion, the opposition has misread the public mood and is making a mistake by reducing the campaign to a simple political dispute, as evidenced, they believe, by Rafał Trzaskowski's dismissive remarks about CPK or the Vistula Spit canal. "It's all seen from the perspective of the 'Warsaw bubble,' where there's always some work," says our interlocutor. "Simply put, if there were no CPK, no railway modernization, no Vistula Spit canal – these projects would have to be invented now, created from scratch. Investments are the means to stimulate the economy, ensure jobs, and provide continuity for Poland's infrastructural development. Actions such as the National Road Construction Program, Bridges for Regions, 100 Bypass Roads, the construction of district and municipal roads, or railway modernization demonstrate that the state can and should be active in the sphere of public investment. And what's more – all research indicates that such a project provides citizens with a sense of security during times of crisis," says a politician from the President's circle. The President's circle assesses the current polls as "highly volatile" and not yet reflecting the fact that a dispute beyond the purely political will finally emerge in the campaign. "When push comes to shove, and it's a real campaign, you have to defend something and argue for something every day, the Civic Platform has proven helpless in the past and stumbled on the simplest things, like knowing what they presented the previous day," says a politician involved in preparing the President's re-election campaign strategy. The President's campaign team readily recalls a series of statements by PO politicians, including Rafał Trzaskowski, questioning large investments. "People have slogans in their heads: Marshall Plan, New Deal, and they expect such projects from politicians," adds a politician from the vicinity of the Presidential Palace.

-- MINISTER JACEK SASIN AT THE CENTER OF SEJM ATTENTION.

-- THE OPPOSITION'S ACCUSATION IS SIMPLE: HERE IS JACEK SASIN, WHO, WITHOUT WAITING FOR THE RELEVANT REGULATIONS TO COME INTO EFFECT, CAUSED THE PRINTING OF APPROXIMATELY 30 MILLION ELECTION BALLOTS – AN EXPENSE OF ALMOST 70 MILLION ZLOTYS, AND THE ELECTIONS DID NOT TAKE PLACE, AND THE MONEY WAS WASTED – Maciej Knapik.

-- TO SHOW THE SCALE OF WASTAGE, THE OPPOSITION CALCULATES HOW MUCH SPACE THE ELECTION BALLOTS WOULD OCCUPY IF LAID END TO END – Knapik continues.

-- IT BECAME CLEAR THAT PIS WOULD DEFEND THIS APPARENTLY LOST CAUSE, AND IT TURNED OUT THE OPPOSITION WAS TO BLAME – Knapik.

-- THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IS PRECISELY THAT JACEK SASIN PRINTED THE BALLOTS, DESPITE THE SO-CALLED SENATE OBSTRUCTION, REPEATEDLY CLAIMING HE WAS DOING SO BASED ON PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI'S DECISION, AND THAT THE ELECTIONS WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE PLACE – Knapik continues.

-- EVEN IF THE OPPOSITION TRIED TO HOLD ANYTHING BACK, THEY FAILED – Knapik.

-- NO ONE CANCELLED THE ELECTIONS; THERE WAS ONLY A STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN KACZYŃSKI AND JAROSŁAW GOWIN – Knapik continues.

-- LISTENING TO SOME PIS MPS, ONE COULD GET THE IMPRESSION THAT JACEK SASIN HAD ACTUALLY ACHIEVED SOME GREAT SUCCESS HERE – Knapik.

-- THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH IS PREPARING A MAJOR TESTING INITIATIVE; SCREENING TESTS WILL IDENTIFY THOSE WHO HAD CORONAVIRUS AND MAY NOT HAVE EVEN KNOWN ABOUT IT.

-- TODAY, ONE THING IS CLEAR: THE VIRUS REMAINS DANGEROUS AND CONTINUES TO INFECT.

-- THE HEALTH MINISTER AND HIS ELECTORAL POWER, A WEEK BEFORE THE ELECTIONS, CAN MAKE A KEY DECISION, AND THIS POWER IS GRANTED TO HIM BY AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAW.

-- THIS IS NOT JUST THE HEALTH MINISTER; IT IS A PERSON WHO WILL HAVE A CONCRETE INFLUENCE ON HOW THE ELECTIONS ARE CONDUCTED, AND IN THE OPINION OF THE OPPOSITION, POSSIBLY ALSO ON THEIR RESULT – Paweł Płuska.

-- ŁUKASZ SZUMOWSKI ALREADY YESTERDAY, WHEN ASKED ABOUT ELECTION SECURITY, ANNOUNCED THAT IN MUNICIPALITIES WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF INFECTION, THE AUTHORITIES WOULD INTRODUCE ONLY CORRESPONDENCE ELECTIONS, WHILE IN RELATIVELY SAFE AREAS, TRADITIONAL ELECTIONS WOULD BE HELD – Płuska continues.

-- THIS SOUNDS NOT VERY CONTROVERSIAL, BUT THE OPPOSITION FEARS, AS CANDIDATES THEMSELVES WILL ADMIT, THAT THE MINISTER, CITING EPIDEMIOLOGICAL DATA, WOULD DECIDE TO HOLD ONLY CORRESPONDENCE ELECTIONS, FOR EXAMPLE, IN LARGE CITIES, THOSE WHERE THE PIS ELECTORATE IS TRADITIONALLY NOT THE STRONGEST – Płuska.

-- THE OPPOSITION WANTS TO CHANGE THE CONTROVERSIAL PROVISION, ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE SEJM WILL REJECT THE SENATE AMENDMENTS – Płuska continues.

-- EKSTRAKLASA IS RETURNING, FANS WILL RETURN.

-- ON JUNE 19TH, IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO ATTEND A LEAGUE FOOTBALL MATCH IN POLAND, BUT NOT EVERYONE WILL GO, NOT EVERYWHERE, AND IT IS NOT YET KNOWN WHETHER IN MASKS OR WITHOUT.
