"The topic of discussion will be the upcoming presidential elections," Krzysztof Sobolewski, the chairman of the party's executive committee, told the Polish Press Agency. He added that the meeting's goal will be to summarize the party's actions taken during the campaign, which ran until May 10th, and to prepare and mobilize for the further part of the pre-election struggle.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will visit the Silesian, Opole, and Lower Silesian voivodeships. "The President does not speak out on the most important issues facing the country, he does not intervene when the law is broken, when promises are not kept by the government, he does not react, he stays silent when something bad happens" – says one of Rafał Trzaskowski's main campaign strategists regarding the new direction of the KO candidate's campaign. - We would like the [presidential election] date to be June 28. This is the last date when elections can be held in such a way that the entire process related to the presidential election concludes within the constitutional deadline, but of course, the decision in this matter is made by the Marshal of the Sejm, in this case Elżbieta Witek – stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- All those who would like to adhere to constitutional deadlines in this difficult situation, an epidemic and extraordinary situation caused by the epidemic, and who are aware of the calendar resulting from the regulations, all people aware of the calendar resulting from the regulations point to this date as the last one on which elections can be held so that we maintain a certain continuity, so that a new president is elected after August 6 – continued the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- This is also a question, or perhaps primarily a question, for Marshal Grodzki, because the sooner the bill [on presidential elections] is passed, whether with amendments or without amendments, that’s a separate matter, I don’t want to touch on it now, the sooner the election calendar can be announced, the more time there will be, among other things, for collecting signatures. Yesterday, the rapporteur MP Czarnek explained this very clearly and lucidly – stated Michał Dworczyk on TVN24’s „Jeden na jeden”.

“I haven't found a single fact suggesting I did anything unlawful, or that my brother did anything unlawful. It is a hodgepodge of insinuations and half-truths,” Minister Łukasz Szumowski said on Radio Trójka.

- We, of course, support President Andrzej Duda. We are determined for him to renew his mandate and continue his presidency, because cooperation between the president and the government, which is particularly evident in these difficult times, during the pandemic, is incredibly important. It is important from the perspective of the state functioning well - stated Michał Dworczyk in "Jeden na jeden" on TVN24.

- Of course, we approach the entire electoral process and all polls with humility, and naturally, after this peculiar restart of the situation, which is unusual for an electoral process, after such a restart of the campaign, of course, President Duda's entire team, and all of us, will make every effort to convince people of the program that the president presents - continued the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

In yesterday's "Kropka nad I," Szymon Hołownia discussed how Rafał Trzaskowski's entry into the race would allow him to prove the durability of his campaign. „The lyrics are current, but I don't see them as political. All the lyrics are very current and written in the last two months. An event that greatly outraged me couldn't be absent, namely President Kaczyński's visit to the cemetery. It was something that deeply moved me, and not just me. At that moment, I got the impression that regardless of political affiliation, everyone perceived a major gaffe in this type of behavior. I saw with my own eyes on public television, how Rafał Ziemkiewicz and Stanisław Janecki, responding to a viewer who declared himself a PiS supporter, said that it was highly inappropriate. Ziemkiewicz smiled and nodded. Janecki denied it. Piotr Zaremba wrote that it is absolutely something to be condemned. I had to... Did anyone think such behavior would go unnoticed? “I don't feel like a victim of anything at all. I am very grateful for the support from musicians, journalists, and politicians, but honestly speaking, I don't need such support, because I received two calls from two Trójka journalists who recently left, and they were words of thanks, because, and I'll quote one of them, 'Your song allowed me to see clearly and quit this program'. Besides, they are giving me publicity that I would have to spend millions of zlotys on, and I don't have that much” - said Kazik Staszewski on RMF FM.

- A motion of no confidence [for Szumowski] will certainly be filed. However, I wanted to say one thing. First and foremost, I would expect the CBA to investigate his assets. I find the situation outrageous where a politician hides behind a separation of property, transferring all his income, and his entire fortune to his wife - Katarzyna Lubnauer said in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).

There are many obstacles being thrown in our way right now. There's an attempt at media elimination, media omission. Yes, yes [of me]. Here, perhaps, just as TVP Info features Andrzej Duda from dawn till dusk, if we were to look at the last few days on TVN24, then Rafał Trzaskowski is there from dawn till dusk. - In my opinion, Rafał Trzaskowski's candidacy is more of a rescue operation for Civic Platform than a desire to win the election. If they wanted Rafał Trzaskowski to be president, and Rafał Trzaskowski wanted to be the President of the Republic of Poland, he would have run in the Civic Platform primaries and would have been the candidate since December, because I believe he would have simply won those primaries. - Rafał Trzaskowski has not only entered the top league of presidential candidates very strongly, quickly rising to second place. He has also generated considerable fear, and let's note that this fear is on the side of all his rivals - Katarzyna Lubnauer said on Radio Plus.

- For example, I have the impression that Mr. Hołownia has the biggest grievances towards Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, because he is even willing to insult her. - All politics says that the worst thing is to persist in error. Sometimes you can change something, but sticking to solutions that are clearly irrational, or at least not yielding the expected results, makes no sense. However, worldview-wise, consider those symbolic decisions, like the absence from the pre-Christmas holiday meeting with the priest at the city hall, probably for the first time. These have a very strong impact on provincial, local Poland, and smaller towns. Also, an understanding of the problems of the people living there is probably not so widespread for Rafał Trzaskowski, with all due respect, because we shouldn't deny him his abilities and skills. But I have traveled through all these towns, I've been to thousands of meetings. This cannot be made up in 4 weeks – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Poranek Siódma9.

“A psychological barrier has certainly been broken [that Andrzej Duda is below 40% in polls], because everyone is only now able to assess a presidency in crisis. At a time when everything is going well, Poland is developing well, then such a model of a silent presidency, where the president takes no initiatives and merely celebrates their function, calms everyone down and generally speaking, no one asks difficult questions. However, today, in a moment of crisis, an active presidency is needed. - Of course, the Senate has this plan [to appoint a member of the so-called pedophilia commission] and, what's more, has already started working on it. Besides, please remember that the conditions for a potential member of this commission are very high. Such a person must have a specific status, titles, and these conditions were changed in one of the COVID shields. They cannot conduct business activities, and most importantly, they must obtain 3/5 of the votes in the Sejm and the Senate, and this is important. In the Senate, this means 60 people. „The president should be the one controlling the actions of the current government, and today it is the people of the current authorities who control the president’s actions. We need a strong, decisive, responsible president. The president should be a person who clearly and precisely formulates their opinion, not someone who repeats the daily party message. Today, at the Presidential Palace, there is a man who, until he receives a call from Nowogrodzka Street, effectively has nothing to say. Today, President Andrzej Duda behaves towards Jarosław Kaczyński like a private soldier towards a corporal. He puffs himself up, he practically stands at attention, and we need, Poland needs, a president who will put that little corporal from Żoliborz in his place” - said Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz from the Civic Coalition at a press conference.

„We need a strong president. Not a president who shines on TikTok or battles the sharp shadow of fog in hip-hop contests. We need a resounding voice that will show Poles the direction. We need a president who will not be afraid of the independence of the prosecution. Andrzej Duda’s silence says much more about his presidency than many of his speeches” - added Michał Gramatyka.

- Minister Szumowski deserves the highest honor I can imagine, because it was precisely his actions that allowed us to make the most sensible decisions. Thank you very much, Minister Szumowski. - I believe that President Andrzej Duda, with whom I cooperate very closely on the financial and anti-crisis shield, and to whom we owe so much, both in terms of social policy, i.e., the defense of 500+, our great social solidarity contribution, family-oriented, additional pensions, 13th [pension], that all of this, which happened thanks to Mr. President, will also be a very important reason for making decisions that all Poles will soon be making, this past where we benefited from the fact that public finances were largely balanced, and we were able to commit a lot of resources to Polish society. Today we are in a new reality, and this cooperation, as I said yesterday, cooperation like a monolith, we should all cooperate together, the Sejm, the Senate, unfortunately, it's different with the Senate, the President and the government, and the fact that this cooperation is going so well today is a necessary condition for us to continue to emerge from this crisis in a better way than many other, much richer countries than ours, as we see happening today in Western Europe. So I am very pleased that we are working together with the President in such a constructive, yet very positive way for the good of Poland, so that Poland can emerge victorious, get through this very difficult time, a difficult period, as smoothly as possible - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing at the ELSIT company in Gliwice.

- Here I had the opportunity to observe production in another company, and again, good news that not only the creator and the president here managed to keep jobs, but I heard that perhaps in subsequent periods this year, new people can also be hired. I want to state unequivocally on behalf of the government and the political group I represent, which is PiS, that the right to unfettered political expression, including political manifestations, is a sacred right of every citizen. There is absolutely no question, intention, or discussion of permanently limiting civil rights in this regard. Only epidemic considerations are the reason for this temporary ban – stated Mariusz Kamiński at a press conference.

- Without the Silesian insurgents who fought for independence, for the Republic, 99 years ago here, it can be boldly said, there would be no free Poland. There would be no Poland as it emerged from the rubble after the partitions, after 123 years. The young homeland was subjected to enormous pressure in a very short time, and it was here, in Silesia, Opole Silesia, that various battles took place. Battles as part of the Third Silesian Uprising, exactly 99 years ago. Common sense suggested: stay with the Germans. But the logic of the heart was different. Therefore, every insurgent who took up arms then, every Silesian family that had Poland in its heart then, belongs to the pantheon of our heroes. The pantheon of the founding fathers of our independence. The borders of the Second Polish Republic, as we well know, were not drawn with a pencil on a map, but were drawn with the blood of heroes. Heroes like the Silesian insurgents, who took up arms then and fought for the Polishness of Silesia. The battle remained undecided then, but it decided something fundamental. About the Polishness of Silesia. About the fact that there is no free Second Polish Republic, about the fact that there is no free Republic without Silesia, without Silesian hearts, which then so beautifully declared themselves for Poland - said Mateusz Morawiecki during a media statement in front of the Monument to the Insurgent Deed on St. Anne's Mountain.

A phone conversation between the Presidents of Poland and Germany lasted for an hour today. This was another in a series of talks President Andrzej Duda has had with foreign partners concerning the future of the economy and European policy in the context of the coronavirus pandemic - informed Krzysztof Szczerski, Head of the Presidential Cabinet, to 300POLITYKA.

"President Steinmeier congratulated the Polish authorities on an effective strategy to limit the health consequences of the pandemic. The Presidents discussed concepts for European cooperation in health security, presented in the President's letter to European leaders, emphasizing the need to strengthen European self-reliance and solidarity in situations of health threats, especially concerning the production of essential protective materials and medical equipment. The Presidents devoted significant attention to economic issues. Both agreed that the key task today is to maintain the financial liquidity of companies and to work towards preserving jobs. To achieve these goals, public support is necessary, as is happening today in both Poland and Germany. Preventing a deep recession in Europe must, in the Presidents' opinion, be supported by initiatives at the EU level. In this context, President Duda conveyed Poland's position on the German-French proposal for a Recovery Fund. Poland responds positively to this proposal, but we believe that the key elements in evaluating this project will be the details concerning financing sources, the principles of fund allocation, and the nature of the aid. Poland is ready to actively engage in developing these details through dialogue with other capitals. The Presidents also discussed the necessity of cooperation within international organizations."

– There are still a lot of fantastic people in public media. They are still holding on. But this pathology cannot be maintained any longer. That is why The Left is proposing its solutions today – the Pact for Culture – said Robert Biedroń during a press conference.

– Culture without censorship. Today, censorship has gone so far that the student has surpassed the master. Those who used to work at Mysia [referring to the former headquarters of Polish Radio and Television] could learn from Kurski, from others.

– Depoliticized public media. This is something that has not happened since 1989, and we all dream, especially you as journalists, of this freedom. Of not having your spines broken every time a new government comes into power.

– Systemic support for artists. Today, it is plainly visible, especially during the coronavirus crisis, how poorly protected this artistic sector is in terms of funding. Today, our MPs from The Left parliamentary club have submitted an interpellation regarding the opening of theaters and museums. The opening of theaters that are waiting for their moment, because artists are not earning there. It is important for us to provide artists with adequate funding.

– Culture accessible to all. It must be a culture that is not limited by any muzzle. It cannot be the case that some local government official or politician from the Ministry of Culture decides on the funding of one undertaking or another, guided solely by their own worldview.

– Artistic freedom. This means abolishing the issue related to Article 196 of the Penal Code, which concerns the offense of religious feelings. We, as The Left, consistently say that this is one of those muzzles that are always placed on rebellious artists – said the presidential candidate. 

“The meeting concerned summing up what has happened so far in the election campaign, because as you know, the campaign is currently on hold until a new election date is announced by the Marshal. We believe that June 28th would be the best, but it depends on the Marshal's decision. One of the points of the Executive Committee meeting was the recommendation made by the chairman [of PiS], regarding the appointment of a new head of PiS youth structures - Mr. Michał Moskal” - said Krzysztof Sobolewski, head of the PiS Executive Committee, at a press conference. 

"Polls can excite political scientists or academics, we're doing our own thing and not looking at polls" – said the head of the PiS Executive Committee, Krzysztof Sobolewski, at a press conference. 

"Nobody has ever won an election with polls yet. I wasn't excited about the polls when the president had around sixty percent, I'm not excited, nor do I fall into a mood of discouragement or mourning because of the current poll. Today it's like this, tomorrow it's different" – he added.

“[The National Electoral Commission's Resolution] is being analyzed by the Sejm Marshal as well, but it is being checked because there were allegations that it is illegal, and the opposition raised this point. If all expert opinions indicate that there are no contraindications to its publication, then it will be published” - said PiS Executive Committee Chairman Krzysztof Sobolewski at a press conference.
