Hołownia Responds to Budka: While You Saved Poland on Twitter, We Were Doing Real Things

I have been accused of being someone who pushed for these elections and wanted to participate in a rigged, set-up election. I would like to inform Chairman Borys Budka, but also other Civic Platform activists, that while you were saving Poland on Twitter, in television studios, tearing your hair out, practicing martyrdom on a plush cross, we were doing real things. It was I, not Civic Platform activists, who filed a complaint to the Supreme Court against the resolution of the National Electoral Commission, the effect of which, despite the complaint being dismissed, but it was clearly stated in the justification, was that local government officials did not have the obligation to transfer personal data for a certain period of time to this whole Sasin-affair” – said presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

No Talk of Isolating Silesia or the Voivodeship. Not with My Consent, Not with the Government's Consent
It is worth emphasizing that here, in the Silesian Voivodeship, this horizontal transmission, outside the mining sector, is at a very similar level to the rest of the country. This is a dozen or so cases a day, meaning one could say that the entire epidemic would be even better controlled in the case of the Silesian Voivodeship as well, but we have made an unprecedented decision, one which Minister Pinkas calls unparalleled in Europe, to test a very large population of people employed in the mining industry through genetic screening. And here, above all, I wanted to thank all the miners who are undergoing this difficult procedure, and I know they are worried about returning to work – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a briefing in Katowice. It is important to correctly understand the method of fighting the coronavirus. At the level of every place where the coronavirus is discovered, one must indeed isolate. But there is no question of isolating Silesia or the Voivodeship. Not with my consent, not with the government's consent. We primarily have a principle of solidarity: one for all, all for one, and since a larger problem has appeared here than elsewhere, then greater help is needed here, and we have been providing this help for a few weeks now, which is why our plan, the plan for Silesia, to fight the epidemic is proving effective today – PMM continued. https://twitter.com/PremierRP/status/1261620182935646213

From Monday, Tuesday, Miners Can Return to Work
Our action has already led to a point where I can say that from Monday, Tuesday, miners will be able to return to work in the mines. This is very important because production and safety considerations necessitate keeping the mines operational at least at a minimal level, but miners want to work, and I assure you that starting from Monday, Tuesday, the beginning of this coming week, it will be possible to increase production where it hasn't been completely halted or where it has practically ceased – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a briefing in Katowice.

Hołownia:

We Don't Need to Swap Candidates. We Don't Need This or That Party Game. We Desperately Need a Completely New Politics.

We are a step away from making a revolutionary change. We don't need to swap candidates. We don't need this or that party game. We desperately need completely new politics, a completely new way of thinking about politics, about common affairs. We need a change in politics” - said presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

Emilewicz's Appeal to Porozumienie Members: Mobilize for the Final Stretch, Shape the Future of the Polish Right
The last six weeks have been the most turbulent period in the history of our party and our homeland during the United Right's governance. I thank you for all the words of support I have received from you. You also asked for a broader commentary on the current situation. Therefore, in a few words, I want to present to you the reasons that guided me in these days - writes Jadwiga Emilewicz in a letter to the members of Porozumienie, which 300POLITYKA has seen. The Deputy Prime Minister lists three key issues: the stability of the government, the victory of Andrzej Duda, and - most importantly - a strong "Porozumienie." - Now all our attention should be focused on supporting the President in the final stretch of his campaign. Therefore, I appeal to you with a heartfelt request for help. Let's get involved in these weeks to help him win. Let's support his activity on social media and convince our voters. I am also personally collecting program postulates that the President could propose at the end of his campaign. All hands on deck! Only with Andrzej Duda as head of state can we continue the transformation of Poland - emphasizes Emilewicz. In the letter, the Deputy Prime Minister also writes about the need for a new formula, through which a stronger formation will be built, one that will shape the future of the new right: - Therefore, today we need a new formula. Appreciating the enormous role of all of you, I believe that it should be our common goal for "Porozumienie" to grow in its founding ideals. Only in this way will we build an even stronger formation that will shape the future of the Polish right. - The world has entered a turn. We are all wondering what our lives will look like after the coronavirus. The development of individual countries in the next decade depends on how they navigate this turn. This is the perfect time to redefine our goals and, as a formation, develop our own vision for the future. We are emerging from the turn and hitting the gas! We need a new narrative about contemporary Poland that is attractive to the younger generation. This is a Poland where citizens have a dignified and satisfying life. A Poland where schools teach our children how to cope in a dynamically changing reality. We want genuine housing policy, so that a mortgage no longer becomes a millstone around the necks of many families, and the dreamed-of home sanctuary becomes a factor of development. We need cheap green energy so that Polish companies do not lose their competitiveness due to draconian electricity prices. We need to rebuild social trust, because without it, we can achieve nothing together. I will put a period here, although we have many similar common dreams. The Polish right needs "Porozumienie" because there should be a political environment that fights for these goals. This is how I see our common future - she continues.

We are working to mitigate the epidemic's impact on the economy, and for this, we need Poland's economic heart, Silesia
Today, for thousands of Silesian families, the most important thing is a return to normality, which also means that next week, mining operations will resume in the mines that have been idle for the past few weeks. Other mines are increasing their output. We are working to mitigate the epidemic's impact on the economy, and for this, we need Poland's economic heart, Silesia, wrote Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Facebook.

Gronkiewicz-Waltz:

I Support Trzaskowski. He is a Competent Person, Fit to Be President of Poland. He Should Fight to the End

- I spoke with Rafał Trzaskowski and I support him, I'll say that right away, because I believe he is a competent person, a person who is, shall we say, fit to be President of Poland. He is a man with some experience, although he might look young, he's approaching fifty. Aleksander Kwaśniewski was younger when he took office as President of Poland. In short, I believe that Rafał Trzaskowski, since such a decision has been made, should fight to the end to become that president - stated Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz in a conversation with Piotr Marciniak on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".
