At 2:00 PM, the Sejm Presidium will convene to decide on the date for an extraordinary session of the Sejm concerning the coronavirus situation. President Andrzej Duda requested the convening of this additional session yesterday.

At 11:30 AM, Krzysztof Bosak will hold a press conference in the Sejm. The topic: An interpellation to the Minister of Health regarding the coronavirus and an appeal to the President to convene a Cabinet Council. At 1:00 PM in Mrągowo, Robert Biedroń will hold a press conference focused on health protection and epidemiology. Another conference will take place at 4:45 PM in Ełk, followed by an election rally with supporters at 5:00 PM.

At 3:40 PM in Rabka-Zdrój, President Andrzej Duda will ceremonially unveil a commemorative plaque for the late First Lady Maria Kaczyńska and lay flowers in the parish garden of St. Mary Magdalene Church. Wednesday also marks the final day of the Senate session, which is currently addressing the budget act for 2020. The upper house will also hear information from a representative of the Ministry of Health regarding the epidemiological situation related to the spread of the coronavirus. Additionally, at 8:00 AM, two Senate sessions will hold the first reading of a draft resolution in defense of judicial independence and the independence of the justice system.

- The administration, particularly the medical administration, is prepared to provide assistance, especially in a threat situation. Just yesterday, a meeting took place at President Andrzej Duda's office with the Minister of Health, the Minister of Interior and Administration, and the Chief Sanitary Inspector. I also wanted to confirm and emphasize from my side that the Polish Army, which possesses its entire medical branch, is prepared - said Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Krzysztof Świątek on "Sygnały dnia" on Jedynka radio.

- It is a fact that we have an election campaign, and there are those who try to exploit everything happening with the virus for electoral purposes. Incidentally, we had such a *quid pro quo* in Warsaw, because it was politically alleged that the provincial infectious diseases hospital was demanding payment for tests. It turned out that who runs this hospital? The Mazovian Voivodeship board. Headed by whom? We need to manage this. I want to do it. It will sound very strange and bad, but it's such an innovative concept, it's being created before our eyes, it brings together such different people who have defined themselves politically in such different ways, and reality is changing so rapidly... If I won the election, believe me, the next day the political landscape would be entirely different. Not because everything would collapse, but because a new 9-million demand would emerge - stated Szymon Hołownia in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

"There will be information in the Senate, but there will also be information in the Sejm. I think Madam Speaker Witek will react positively to the President's request. It is in the Sejm that all political groupings not represented in the Senate are present. "The act has stirred certain emotions and in this sense may have a short-term impact on the course of the debate in Poland, but the President is not making this decision as a candidate for the next 5 years, but as the incumbent head of state. He has 21 days according to the constitution. This time is long enough to be able to consult with communities in the case of controversial laws" - said Adam Bielan, spokesman for the president's campaign and Member of the European Parliament, in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Radio Trójka.

- Indeed, three weeks ago the situation was significantly different than it is now. A few days ago, outbreaks appeared in Western Europe. This primarily concerns Italy, and you know that Italy is a place where Poles very willingly go for holidays during the winter. And indeed, there were many Poles in Italy during this period. Some of them have already returned because the holidays have ended, but many Poles are also still in Italy, having booked holidays and trips there. Based on the recommendations of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, we advise against such trips, so if someone goes there, they must bear their own responsibility. Currently, at this moment, we do not recommend such trips - said the Deputy Minister of Health, Waldemar Kraska, in the Senate.

- The situation is very dynamic; it changes practically from hour to hour. Currently, over 81,000 people worldwide are infected with the coronavirus. Over 2,700 infected patients have died. In the EU, 381 people are currently infected. These are quite substantial figures. As of today, at this moment, we have no confirmed case of coronavirus in Poland - he continued.

- Knowing Mr. MP Arłukowicz – his charisma, passion, determination with which he engages in public affairs, I don't believe he yields to anyone, or steps aside. He is the head of the campaign staff, and I think he readily takes advantage of this position - Waldemar Sługocki said in an interview with Michał Rachoń on the TVP Info program "Jedziemy".

- There is a clear, unambiguous division of roles. Everyone has their tasks, important tasks to perform, however, Mr. MP Arłukowicz is responsible for the entirety - the PO politician continued.

- From what I know, Mr. Sławomir Nowak also appears, he is part of Ms. Kidawa-Błońska's campaign staff. He helps, he passes on the information he possesses. He is also an experienced politician, after all. He participated in building and constructing election campaigns. I believe he did so successfully. If he is ready to help, we should take advantage of that; no one should be rejected - he emphasized.

- We are constantly monitoring the situation. At the moment, 47 people are hospitalized in Poland with suspected coronavirus. Also, 55 people are under quarantine, and so-called epidemiological surveillance, which means active epidemiological surveillance, covers 1,570 people. These are individuals who are currently reported to sanitary stations. Sanitary stations are continuously monitoring their health status - said Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska in the Senate.

„Before our eyes, the current authorities are embarking on the final stage of destroying the independent judiciary. Yesterday, the Iustitia association informed us that the prosecutor's office, subservient to PiS politicians, wants to lift Judge Tuleya's immunity to press criminal charges against him. Ordering this political persecution of the independent Judge Tuleya for issuing a ruling in the case of illegal voting in the Column Hall is an unprecedented example of an attempt to punish a judge for issuing a specific ruling. Pressing charges against a judge for issuing a verdict is turning our country into a legal wilderness. Today, in light of this information, we wish to appeal to European institutions for decisions to be made as soon as possible regarding the issuance of interim measures in proceedings concerning repressive disciplinary actions against judges” – said Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz from Nowoczesna at a press conference in the Sejm.

„The situation is scandalous. It turns out that soon a judge of the Disciplinary Chamber, which should cease to adjudicate, a former prosecutor, at the request of his colleagues, will be lifting a judge's immunity. Reprisals against judges are reaching ever further” – said Robert Kropiwnicki from Civic Coalition (KO).

"The matter of security, the matter of the health of Poles should never have political colors. Issues related to healthcare should not be entered into the current electoral calendar. Members of the KO parliamentary club are always ready to support the state, the government in solving issues related to the most important problems, therefore we will appear at any time, any day, if the need arises, to effectively give the rulers tools to fight the coronavirus. As early as February 14, the KO club submitted a bill to the Sejm that gives the government tools to effectively prevent the spread of this virus. This is an amendment to the act on infectious diseases" - said the chairman of Civic Platform, Borys Budka, at a press conference.

According to 300POLITYKA sources, Mateusz Morawiecki met with ministers and deputy ministers today at the Prime Minister's Chancellery. - Mateusz Morawiecki is mobilizing the government ahead of the elections, strengthening legislative and communication coordination - one of the Prime Minister's associates told us.

At the meeting, current government agenda topics were discussed: coronavirus, the Multiannual Financial Framework, climate, economic policy, and the election campaign. 

Our interlocutor claims that any slip-ups and stumbles are to be addressed immediately, and Ministers Dworczyk and Müller are communicatively responsible for coronavirus-related issues.

Furthermore, at the meeting, Prime Minister Morawiecki announced a summary of the government's first 100 days for Saturday.

„Members of Civic Coalition (KO) parliamentary club will appear at next week's extraordinary session of the Sejm if there is the will from the parliamentary majority, but we expect, and Marshal Kidawa-Błońska will speak about this today at the Sejm Presidium, that the agenda for any potential session should include the KO's draft bill [on infectious diseases]. We must undertake legislative actions, not just meet because someone wants to talk or is trying to fit these difficult events into the political calendar” - stated Borys Budka, chairman of Civic Platform, at a press conference.

The planned Council of Ministers meeting has just concluded. It was a meeting expanded to include deputy ministers. Prime Minister Morawiecki holds these kinds of summarizing and planning meetings and discussions from time to time. One of the important points at this meeting was the discussion of the situation related to the coronavirus - Michał Dworczyk stated at a briefing at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM). - Following this meeting, the daily meeting of the working group led by the minister took place, and it will provide the latest information - the head of KPRM continued. - I would always like to start by saying that there are no cases of coronavirus in Poland. As of today, there are none. As I have said many times, as soon as the coronavirus appears in Poland, we will immediately provide this information to the public and all Poles. As of today, there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus infection. It is a matter of, I think, the next few days, when this virus appears in Poland or in the near future. Currently, there are 47 people hospitalized, under hospital observation, with 55 suspected cases under home quarantine, and over 1570 people under sanitary service monitoring - said Łukasz Szumowski.

“In the Presidential Palace, the President met with members of the National Broadcasting Council. Later, he held a meeting with the presidents of regional public radio stations, as well as the directors of regional public television centers. Please remember that the act, which is currently on the president’s desk, also concerns regional media, which are of great importance, and the president emphasized the significance and role of regional media during this meeting. At the same time, the president wanted to hear the opinions of those who are your colleagues, acquaintances, and work in regional media” - said presidential spokesperson Minister Błażej Spychalski at a briefing.

“The President’s consultative meetings will continue. Tomorrow, the President will meet with the President of Polish Radio, Agnieszka Kamińska, as well as with President Jacek Kurski. This is also part of the consultative meetings. The President has until March 6th to make a decision” - he added.

Seeking help, they found support with her, they very often found salvation. She highly respected other people, she taught everyone around her, including us, her husband's then-young ministers, that every person must be treated with respect. She did not raise her voice, she deeply loved her husband, she cared for her daughter, for her grandchildren. She was a wonderful First Lady, whom I greatly valued and whom I simply, humanly, liked very much, also for her directness, her straightforwardness, also for the person, the human being, the woman she was. One would wish that everyone in Poland were as noble as the former First Lady Maria Kaczyńska. One would wish that everyone in Poland, that we, together as we form our Polish society today, knew how to relate to each other, even when we have different views, with the same respect that she showed towards other people. I ask you, as is sometimes said, people of Rabka, Rabka highlanders, children, youth, to always remember that every human being has their dignity and every human being must be respected, regardless of whether they are the President of the Republic of Poland, or hold any other profession, or serve in any other capacity, whether they are doing well or are in a difficult situation. Ladies and gentlemen, when someone allowed 50 billion PLN in VAT to be stolen from us, it's clear they had no money to give to the people. Thieves took it - said President Andrzej Duda in Limanowa.

- The justice system must be repaired. A judge must be a person of crystal clear integrity, a role model for their local community. This is fundamental. Whom else can we demand honesty and adherence to the law from, if not from those who very often decide the fate of others, issuing criminal judgments? They apply the law. First and foremost, they must be expected to adhere to the law. That's why we need a well-functioning disciplinary court system among judges. Real accountability, not the artificial, feigned kind as it was until recently – said President Andrzej Duda in Limanowa.

- Opponents say "everything will remain, everything will remain." Let that be the answer to why they recently tried to block the 13th pension in the Senate. If it weren't for the parliamentary majority in the Sejm, which rejected amendments aimed at blocking the 13th pension, if it weren't for this swift and bold decision by the MPs, it would likely have been impossible to disburse the 13th pension - President Andrzej Duda said in Limanowa.

- A special session of the Sejm has been convened because we have analyzed legal provisions, and just as in other EU countries, and indeed globally, it turns out that international law, not just Polish law, contains certain loopholes that we would like to eliminate in this one-day Sejm session – stated Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".
