Müller on the President's Campaign Team: The President Has an Unusually Partisan Base, Hence the Involvement of Those Who Have Worked with Him Over the Past Five Years
This is the President's independent decision. Naturally, thanks to the fact that our camp is very broad, this choice is also possible within a wider range. Let's also remember that the President has an unusually partisan base, and therefore the involvement of those people who have worked with the President over the last five years or the circles that have helped him in his daily work as president – said Piotr Müller in an interview with Piotr Gocek on "Sygnały dnia" on Polish Radio Channel 1.

07:36

Müller:

Our Bills Have Been Vetoed. It's Good That the President Corrected Our Camp's Policy

- There is a certain polarizing model, especially in the second round. However, it must also be pointed out that this is the head of state, who pursues goals beyond the policies of PiS, because they are the head of state. Therefore, he did not always agree with our political camp. Our bills have been vetoed. It's good that the president corrected our camp's policy, and I hope he will be able to continue his policy in such a sensible way in the next term - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Piotr Goćek on "Sygnały dnia" on Polish Radio One.

Dworczyk on PLN 1.95 Billion for Public Media: Compensation for Funds Lost Due to PO and Tusk's 2008 Legislation Exempting Groups from License Fees

- We are talking about recouping costs that will not enter the television budget due to a law adopted by Civic Platform in 2008. This law caused public media to be chronically underfunded. Therefore, we are dealing with compensation that will be allocated to fulfilling the mission of public media - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- I repeat once again and urge the editor to be precise. Firstly, public media, and secondly, this is compensation for the funds that will not flow to public media after Civic Platform and Donald Tusk introduced regulations in 2008 exempting a number of groups from paying the license fee - continued the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

07:58

Dworczyk on Lichocka: Such Situations Should Absolutely Not Happen. Once Emotions Subsided, She Apologized for Her Behavior

- If we are talking about MP Lichocka, then the MP apologized for the situation that took place in the Sejm. Such situations should absolutely not happen. Once emotions subsided, MP Lichocka apologized for her behavior, and I hope we all agree that such situations should not occur. I also hope that all commentators and politicians who are commenting on this event today will apply the same measure to various other situations that occur in Polish politics and should not have a place - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

08:06

Dworczyk:

We are currently analyzing possibilities of preparing a delegation to Smolensk and Katyn. A diplomatic note has been submitted to the Russian Federation.
- I have already said in several programs that we are currently analyzing the possibilities of preparing a delegation to Smolensk and Katyn. We have the 80th anniversary of the Soviet murder of Polish officers and the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that occurred in Smolensk. A diplomatic note has been submitted in this regard to the Russian Federation. There has been no [response] yet. This kind of trip requires special preparations. Final decisions regarding the form of this trip have not yet been made. When they are, we will certainly inform you - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "One on One".

08:19

Dworczyk on the EU Budget: No Final Decisions This Thursday and Friday During the Brussels Summit; Significant Disagreements Remain

- We want to negotiate a good budget for Poland. We know that securing funds related to agriculture is very important, and we have the support of our partners such as France. President Macron, during his recent visit to Poland, spoke about a similar perspective on this issue. A group of "friends of cohesion" was created on Poland's initiative. The Prime Minister recently met with the leaders of these countries in Portugal. The debate is currently ongoing and will continue for several more months. Certainly, no final decisions will be made this Thursday and Friday during the summit in Brussels. It would be premature to talk about specific amounts today. Final resolutions will definitely not be reached because significant disagreements, which require work, still persist - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

09:04

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I am a guarantor that Poland will be at the main table, not a lackey on the EU's margins

"We can send a clear signal in May by choosing the opposition, by not choosing Andrzej Duda for the Presidential Palace, but those who guarantee a change in our position within the EU. I am a guarantor that this position will be better, that Poland will be at the main table of decision-making, and not a lackey who today waits in the antechamber and is on the fringes of the EU" - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, leader of the Polish People's Party (PSL) and presidential candidate, in an interview with Maciej Zakrocki on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

09:25

Biedroń:

I intend to visit every district in Poland

"I intend to visit every district in Poland. Similarly, as head of the campaign, I led The Left to victory in the last elections. I worked hard, but I also intend to stick to my views and talk about the program. I regret that other candidates talk so little about their views" - said the Left's presidential candidate Robert Biedroń in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Polskie Radio Trójka.

09:29

Kierwiński on the role of Civic Platform's Secretary-General: Much remains to be done. I will continue the work of my predecessors

- I am beginning my term as Secretary-General with a certain inherited situation. A good situation, but not the ideal, ultimate one. Much remains to be done. I will continue the work of my predecessors - stated Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

09:37

Kierwiński:

The Goal This Year is One: Win the Presidential Election. It's Clear This Goal is Very Close, Very Achievable, We Just Need to Work Hard During the Campaign Period, and We Declare That.

- I've said this many times. Regardless of the positions one holds within Civic Platform, whether one is a councilor, village mayor, town mayor, national board member, general secretary, or vice-chairman, the goal this year is one: to win the presidential election. It's clear that this goal is very, very close, it's clear that this goal is very, very achievable, we just need to simply work hard during the election campaign period, and we declare that. Our candidate is working very hard - stated Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

09:45

Kierwiński:

I Don't Believe in Such Debates Between Opposition Candidates. I Believe in a Real, Tough Debate in the Second Round Between Two Candidates Chosen by Poles. I Believe Kidawa-Błońska Will Be in the Second Round

- I must say that I don't believe in such debates between opposition candidates. I believe in a real, tough debate in the second round between two candidates chosen by Poles. I believe Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska will be in this second round, and I am convinced that then this debate, the proper debate, will take place – when there is truly a clash of two visions for Poland. On one hand, a vision of Poland very closed off to one political option, and a vision of Poland for everyone, an open Poland, which Kidawa-Błońska represents – stated Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

10:09

Łapiński on Lichocka's Gesture: I Don't Want to Say It Overshadowed the Convention, But It Did Disturb Its Message a Bit
“I’m sure the PiS campaign strategists, who had been preparing this convention for several weeks – because such a convention isn’t prepared in a single Friday, but many weeks in advance – were not happy about it on Friday. Because on Friday, when the talk should have been about the convention, that it would be the next day, that it would be big, that we expected so many people, the gesture was being discussed in the media the whole time. On Saturday, various memes related to it also appeared. I don’t want to say it overshadowed the convention, but it did disturb its message a bit. I’m sure the strategists were a little... I can guess, I don’t know, but I expect they were angry about it. But perhaps at the end, when they calmly analyzed it, they probably said with relief: it’s good that it happened now at the beginning of the campaign, and not in the last week” – stated Krzysztof Łapiński in an interview with Łukasz Rogojsz on Gazeta.pl's Morning Interview.

10:14

Zgorzelski:

After Kidawa-Błońska's Campaign Launch, It's Clear There's Room to Gather Votes. This Campaign is Lackluster.

"After observing the start of the campaign by Madam Marshal [Kidawa-Błońska], it's evident that it will be possible and there will be places to gather votes. This campaign is currently somewhat lackluster. I don't want to judge too much" – said Deputy Marshal Piotr Zgorzelski from PSL-Koalicja Polska in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

10:15

Zgorzelski:

Kosiniak-Kamysz's Convention in Rzeszów on February 29th

If today Kosiniak-Kamysz has over 10% and Kidawa-Błońska has over 20%, we are only at the beginning of the campaign. This is the start. We are prepared for the fight; the candidate will be fighting hard and working diligently. With our opening convention on February 29th in Rzeszów, we are demonstrating that we are present even in difficult terrain and showing that we have a candidate who is prepared to be president” - said Deputy Marshal Piotr Zgorzelski from PSL-Koalicja Polska in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

11:15

Kosiniak-Kamysz Presents Ready Veto for Public Media Compensation Bill to President Duda; Zgorzelski Labels TVP a 'Breeding Ground for Hate, Sewer of Malice'

Since the beginning of February, we have been calling for an amendment to redirect the funds not to state television, not to propaganda, not to slander, lies, and calumnies, but to the treatment of cancer patients. The entire healthcare system requires radical reform. This is the most important topic for me in the presidential campaign. To help President Duda not only make a decision, because all opposition parties are already appealing for a veto. And that's very good. The opposition is in agreement here, it is united in action to transfer these funds to cancer patients” - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, leader of the PSL and presidential candidate, at a press conference in the Sejm.

The majority of decent Poles counted on the President without hesitation, immediately signing this veto, because if we compare the needs of people suffering from cancer with the funds that were intended for a breeding ground for hate, a sewer of malice, then for everyone, there is no doubt that this veto should have been signed long ago” - added Deputy Marshal Piotr Zgorzelski.

11:23

Kierwiński:

PiS Politicians Have Been Deluding Themselves for Days Since the Fateful Vote Where 2 Billion for Cancer Patients Was Denied. The Healthcare Situation Continues to Worsen.
“PiS is lying. Patients are not waiting in shorter queues. We have broken a record – 4 months. Instead of 2 months, it’s 4 months. It turns out that queues have doubled. PiS shows on one hand that they are spending 1/3 more on healthcare compared to 2015, but we ask where this money is going, since patients are not interested in tables and indicators, they simply want to be seen by doctors faster. They are not” – said Dariusz Joński from Civic Coalition at a press conference in the Sejm.

“If things are as great as PiS politicians say, then why is it so bad? Why is the waiting time for a specialist doctor getting longer? Why does each subsequent year of PiS rule extend this time? For several days now, since the fateful vote where 2 billion for cancer patients was not allocated, PiS politicians have been deluding themselves and claiming how great Polish healthcare is. Meanwhile, the data is devastating. The situation in this regard continues to worsen” – added PO Secretary General Marcin Kierwiński.

11:37

Kidawa-Błońska:

I no longer believe the President will veto this bill, but he should know that every Pole will remember him allocating funds to propaganda instead of healthcare
President Duda talks a lot about the security of Poles, about funds being allocated for cancer treatment. PiS says they will allocate 5 billion over 10 years. However, we want the 2 billion that goes to public television to be immediately transferred to patients for treatment, for modern medicines. The President spoke extensively about how Polish matters are most important to him, that he will address the issues of people with disabilities, the sick, the 'frankowicze' [those with Swiss franc mortgages], the everyday problems of Poles, and free legal aid. None of this has happened in the last 5 years, and now assurances that there will be money for something that has been lacking in recent years cannot be taken seriously. People are waiting for this money here and now. Parents of sick children are appealing for this money, and the President must listen to their voices. Moreover, our health is damaged not only by cancer but also by smog, which is present in Polish cities. 50,000 people die annually from this cause, and Poland, simply because it does not want to adopt the climate neutrality goals by 2050, is losing money from the Just Transition Fund. One billion euros – this is money that could save not only our air but also the lives of many people. Let's think about Poles, about what is most important and necessary for them. The President must listen to the voice of Poles. I no longer believe that the President will veto this bill [on compensation for public media], but he should know that every Pole will remember him allocating these funds to propaganda instead of people's healthcare – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in Włocławek.

Kidawa-Błońska Campaign Files Complaint Against TVP with KRRiT. Szłapka: One 'Wiadomości' Broadcast Featured PAD for 10 Minutes. Kidawa-Błońska Mentioned for 20 Seconds
On behalf of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska's Electoral Committee, I would like to inform you that we have filed a complaint with the Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) regarding the activities of TVP. As a public broadcaster, it is violating Article 21 of the act, meaning the obligation to present events and phenomena in Poland and abroad truthfully, as well as the obligation for public media to maintain pluralism, impartiality, and balance. For a very long time, we have seen that TVP is unequivocally biased. In essence, it engages solely in propaganda, and the proportions in showcasing individual candidates are skewed. This time, we do not want to remain idle. We want to file a complaint on this matter, using a concrete example. In the 'Wiadomości' broadcast on February 15th at 7:30 PM, the segment concerning presidential candidate Andrzej Duda lasted for 10 minutes. In the same broadcast, 1.5 minutes were dedicated to all other candidates, including Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, whose coverage lasted a mere 20 seconds. This means that in just one broadcast of 'Wiadomości', Andrzej Duda was featured 20 times longer than Kidawa-Błońska” – stated Adam Szłapka, chairman of Nowoczesna and spokesperson for Kidawa-Błońska's campaign, during a press conference in the Sejm.

PM:

EC Shows Poland Will Grow at 3.3% This Year and 3.3% Next Year. Amidst Global Economic Slowdown, This is Very Strong Growth

Several EC data points concerning economic growth for the fourth quarter have been released, along with growth forecasts for this and next year. These are very good forecasts. We can look forward to the future with confidence. The EC rigorously weighs and measures all indicators, and the final result it presents is highly probable. It showed that Poland will grow at a rate of 3.3% this year and 3.3% next year. Amidst the global economic slowdown, this is very strong growth” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Gliwice.

16:15

Dera:

There are no reasons why public television should not receive compensation. Compensations exist in all democratic countries.

- As far as I know, in every country… It has been shown how compensation is provided to public television. Poland is no different. One could even say that in terms of the amount of these compensations, it is one of the lowest in Europe. So there are no reasons why public television should not receive this compensation at this moment. It is the president's decision what he will do with it [the law], but if you ask me, compensations function in all democratic countries, in the sense that the institution of compensations is known and applied - stated Andrzej Dera in a conversation with journalists.

17:20

Kierwiński:

I'll Remind PiS Politicians That We Spoke About the Need for More Funding for Oncology During the European Campaign

- I'll remind the PiS politicians who say these kinds of things that we already spoke about the necessity of allocating more money to oncology during the European campaign, we spoke about the need for an oncology program. We spoke about the need to access European funds. We spoke about how oncological diseases are the main problem today - said Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Roch Kowalski on TOK FM's "Political Interview".

17:25

Kierwiński:

I wish the President would tell patients he has no money for their treatment, but he does have a strategy

- I would wish for the President to tell patients that he has no money for their treatment, but that Mr. President does have a strategy. I would prefer there to be money for treatment, for medications, for quick diagnostics, rather than some paper documents that Mr. President and the government are adopting – said Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Roch Kowalski on TOK FM’s “Political Interview.”

17:29

Kierwiński:

If public television's manager, Mr. Jacek Kurski, is so great, perhaps he could finally earn from the projects he organizes.

- I understand that the narrative from PiS is: public television needs to be subsidized. But I wonder, if the manager of public television, Mr. Jacek Kurski, is so great, if he is so appreciated by the government, perhaps he could finally earn from the projects he organizes. In many aspects, public television exhibits Byzantine opulence, and ultimately, all of us Poles pay for it - Marcin Kierwiński said in an interview with Roch Kowalski on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

17:35

Kierwiński:

No Political Option is Without Guilt Regarding Public Television. But What's Happening Now, Experts Justifiably Compare to Pre-1989 Times

- There probably isn't a political option that hasn't something on its conscience when it comes to public television. There's always that temptation to say perhaps one sentence more. But what is happening now, television and media experts, not without reason, compare to the times before 1989 - said Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Roch Kowalski on TOK FM's "Political Interview".

19:31

WKK on PLN 2 Billion for Public Media: We Have a Veto Prepared for the President, the Draft is Written, It Can Be Used

- If we are fighting for more money for oncology, regardless of which party someone belongs to, that's good. I will be happy if PiS senators vote for our amendment in the Senate, an amendment to the budget that we are submitting. We have a veto prepared for the President, the draft is written, it can be used. I sincerely encourage him to do so, and I will thank him if he vetoes this act - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

19:35

WKK:

Healthcare Reform Will Be My Top Priority at the Start of My Presidency

- I can promise one thing, and one thing I will do. Healthcare and healthcare reform will be my most important task at the beginning of my presidency. I will unite various environments and implement a Pact for Health – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of the Events) on Polsat News.

19:40

WKK:

I attended meetings on the Constitutional Tribunal when the opposition met, but I also went to a meeting with President Kaczyński. We need to restore normalcy, reach an agreement

- The specifics are my experiences. I am not running in these elections as the first elections of my life. I have my baggage of experience. I introduced the Social Dialogue Council through an agreement, and everyone voted for it. I introduced family policy, such as year-long maternity leaves, and everyone voted for it. I attended meetings regarding the Constitutional Tribunal when the opposition met, when there were protests, but I also went to a meeting with President Kaczyński. I believe we need to restore normalcy, reach an agreement - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

Maląg on the so-called 13th pension: Everything is going according to plan. We are waiting for the President's signature

Everything is going according to plan. Most importantly, the President has signed the indexation act, meaning indexation is already practically prepared and in effect. The 13th pension - funds secured. Here, we are waiting for the President's signature. We are prepared for the payment and implementation of the program” - said Minister of Family Marlena Maląg in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's „Gość Wiadomości”.

Perhaps Most Disappointing for Kaczyński, Lichocka's Middle Finger to PiS Voters Hurt Both the Party and Andrzej Duda
I think she [Lichocka, referring to her gesture] showed it primarily to us, Polish women and men. But perhaps what is most disappointing for Chairman Kaczyński is that she showed that middle finger to PiS voters, because she did a disservice to both PiS and Andrzej Duda. You can see how the President's poll numbers, his support is falling – said Robert Biedroń in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

A Choice Must Be Made. Either Missiles or Hospitals. Either Monuments or Schools. This is a Civilizational Choice.
I propose that the weight of importance in matters be shifted, for example, from financing catechists in schools to oncology, from purchasing further F-35s, bombs, and missiles to financing healthcare. Money can be found for this, but a choice must be made. Either missiles or hospitals. Either monuments or schools. This is a civilizational choice - said Robert Biedroń in an interview with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

Duda Remained Silent on Hatred in Białystok, on Hanging MEPs, on Violence Against Jews, and on LGBT-Free Zones

- Andrzej Duda did not react to the hatred in Białystok, he did not react when MEPs were hung on gallows, he did not react when violence and hatred occurred, for example, against Jews in Poland, he did not react when Jewish cemeteries were desecrated, he did not react when more and more LGBT-free zones were created. 30% of our country is already covered by such zones. Suddenly, some bear awakens from hibernation and says such things [referring to PAD's statement about Poland for everyone]. No one will believe that - said Robert Biedroń in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" program.

Biedroń on the idea of a referendum on civil partnerships: Anyone afraid to clearly state whether they are for or against partnerships will equivocate

- Anyone afraid to clearly state whether they are for or against partnerships will equivocate. This is also a bad idea for another reason. Civil rights, human rights are not adopted through a referendum. Simply, in the most ordinary sense of the word. Because civil rights either belong to you, or they don't - said Robert Biedroń in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

I Believe If Jesus Were Alive Today, He Would Be the First to Go to Towns Adopting LGBT-Free Zones and Say 'This Cannot Be Done'

- Bishop Jędraszewski should be the first person to stand up in defense of those who are offended. Love your neighbor as yourself. This is a commandment. I believe that if Jesus were alive today, he would be the first to go to those towns where these [LGBT-free] zones are being adopted and say, 'This cannot be done' - Robert Biedroń said in a conversation with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".
