Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, the Civic Coalition's presidential candidate, begins her two-day visit to the United Kingdom today. Her schedule includes laying a wreath at the Polish Airmen Memorial and the Katyń Memorial, dinner with a Polish family, and a meeting with the Polish diaspora at the invitation of KOD UK. A press conference is scheduled for 1:00 PM.

- Every investment in better equipment for the Polish army, guarantees of better, fuller security makes sense, but these are very serious expenses, enormous amounts of money, we are reading about these billions [for the purchase of F-35]. And that is why I am absolutely a strong advocate for such decisions not only by those who govern, by the government, the head of the Ministry of National Defence, but also with notification, with information that the parliamentary opposition should receive - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz in "Trójka Political Salon".
- Yes [before the contract was signed]. This was the case with the F-16, when we were in opposition then, and there was full information precisely at the level of the National Defence Committee, and this matter was absolutely open, clear, transparent. Regarding the money, the negotiations, the offset. What the Polish industry will gain from this, how much more can be obtained and in what timeframe. These are business talks - the former head of Civic Platform continued.

I'm talking with the new Civic Platform leader, we're meeting next week
- I want to keep a distance from this political reality because we've had 4 years of a difficult term, and I need to have all of this written down in a way that will inspire me to build for the next period, my time, and the time of politics – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon".
- I am talking with the new [Civic Platform] leader. We are discussing this [the new role], and we are scheduled to meet next week. It's important to me to properly organize activities, including those of everyone who has experience but also wants to work for the Civic Platform. This includes not only former leaders but also many other individuals. Coordination of foreign affairs, security issues, and program-related matters is very important. I've been doing this for years, and it will certainly be part of my activities in the coming months – he continued.

We Shouldn't View Brexit as the End of All Relations. On the Contrary, Other Forms of Cooperation Will Intensify
„We shouldn't view Brexit as the end of all relations. On the contrary, other forms of cooperation will intensify. This is the intention not only of European countries but also of Great Britain, which has emphasized from the beginning of this process that we are leaving the EU, but not leaving Europe” – said the Minister for European Affairs, Konrad Szymański, in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

Campaign Style, Language, and Vision Crucial for Second-Round Success

„I wouldn't [vote for anyone in the second round if PAD and MKB made it that far]. I don't think [I would vote for Andrzej Duda]. When one of the editors asked me if it would be better if Andrzej Duda flew to Israel, I replied that it would be better if the president was the president's wife” – Paweł Kukiz from the Polish Coalition said in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

„The State Tribunal is a judicial institution situated on the border of the judiciary and politics, and it requires a qualified majority to carry out such an indictment. Even if we could count on the support of Konfederacja on this matter, which cannot be certain anyway, [then a motion for the State Tribunal for PO politicians would not have the required majority]. It would be a fruitless act, because there is no majority at the moment. Let's not get ahead of ourselves so much as to say [the motion won't happen] in this term, but for now, in the foreseeable future, definitely not” - said Deputy Minister Marcin Horała from PiS in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

„I have some concern if there were an attempt at a political, intellectually very dishonest description of this reality around the Central Communication Port [in the NIK report]. [There are] minor [concerns that it will be so]. An investment of this scale requires very long-term, reliable, multidimensional preparation. I hope [it will be examined] reliably, not by building a simple, populist statement like 'how much it cost, how many people are working, and there's no port'” – said Deputy Minister Marcin Horała from PiS in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

Tomczyk:
We are filing a motion of no confidence against Mariusz Kamiński
- Today we are filing a motion of no confidence against Minister-Coordinator Mariusz Kamiński. The motion has been documented on over 20 pages and concerns numerous scandals that have recently appeared in the public sphere, many scandals that remain unexplained to this day. We all remember the case of Mr. Banaś, which has been ongoing for over 100 days. Banaś is still the President of NIK (Supreme Audit Office). We remember the case of the two towers, in which Jarosław Kaczyński was implicated. Kaczyński, who was not even questioned by the prosecutor's office. Kaczyński, whose asset declarations were verified by the CBA (Central Anticorruption Bureau) within 15 minutes, while such proceedings often take many months. The primary cause of Kamiński's activity within the current power system is his pardon by President Duda. It was President Duda who said he had to free the judiciary from this matter, but he did not say then that by freeing the judiciary, he was condemning Polish citizens to the activities of Mariusz Kamiński, who was convicted of abuse of power. If we add to this the recent testimony of the now-famous agent Tomek, who recounts how he was forced by Kamiński, by Maciej Wąsik, into illegal activities that were essentially based on using the state apparatus against fellow citizens, politicians, opposition members, or those in power at the time, it paints a picture of a state we would never want to see here, in our country. This matter must be resolved once and for all. Mariusz Kamiński must appear before the high chamber and provide all possible explanations - stated Cezary Tomczyk at a briefing in the Sejm.
- Minister Kamiński is a pest to the Polish state; he is a person not only who abuses power but is also incompetent, because it was under his watch that the CBA was unable to uncover Mr. Banaś's case. Only after a year of activity, and following initial information from KAS (National Revenue Administration), did the CBA file a notification to the prosecutor's office regarding Banaś. Despite ongoing proceedings in this matter, today, paradoxically, investigative journalists are taking over state functions, and it's good that they exist. It's good that there are media outlets capable of highlighting certain issues, but does that mean that Polish special services can cease to exist altogether, that they can abdicate, that the Polish state can stop functioning? In our opinion, absolutely not - the PO politician continued.

– I received the news about the intention of the Polish Academy of Sciences to organize a "Forum for the Rule of Law" with satisfaction. As the chairman of the Polish Episcopate Conference, I express my support for dialogue regarding the situation in the justice system and the escalating conflict related to its reform – wrote Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, chairman of the Polish Episcopate, in a letter to the president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Jerzy Duszyński.
– Conflicts constantly accompany politics. One could say that their existence is a natural manifestation of a well-functioning democracy. After all, people have different views on public affairs, as well as different interests. The Constitution speaks of what is common, of concern for the existence and future of our Homeland, of a community rooted in the Christian heritage of the Nation and universal human values. A certain difference of positions is therefore fully justified. It does not have to, and as I wish to believe, it does not stem from prioritizing private or party interests over state affairs, as the signature you have given upon entering this hall is a declaration of good will. Today's crisis surrounding the justice system can be treated as an opportunity, after 30 years since regaining independence, to properly describe this important sector of the Polish state's activity. To achieve this, it seems necessary to observe certain fundamental rules – Gądecki argues in the letter.
"First, we should make every effort to ensure that Polish affairs are resolved in Poland. As Poles, we should find a way of conversation that ultimately leads to a good compromise and renders external interference pointless.
Second, we should remember that there is responsibility for the institutional dimension of the common good. Institutions can, and sometimes should, be reformed. However, we must avoid what could lead to institutional chaos, and even more so, actions aimed at causing confusion.
Third, we should strive for an authentic resolution of contentious issues. Compromise is possible because certain matters are divisible. There don't have to be winners and losers, those who can leave with their heads held high, and those who return defeated. St. John Paul II said: 'Solidarity – this means: both one and the other, and if it is a burden, then it is a burden carried together, in community. Therefore, never: one against the other. Some – against others' (1987).
Fourth, we must remember that certain matters are indivisible. I am thinking of goods such as the homeland, the state, and sovereignty."

- I came to London to thank the Polish diaspora, the Poles who cast their votes for me in the recent parliamentary elections, because their votes contributed to my victory in Warsaw. For this, I thank everyone very much, but I never imagined, I didn't expect, that I would come to London on the day Great Britain leaves the EU. In a few hours, at 11 PM London time, Great Britain will cease to be part of this community we dreamed of. This is a very sad day for me and for many Poles and Europeans. With regret, we bid farewell to our colleagues and friends from Great Britain, as they cease to be part of our great European family. They will live separately. It is very dangerous that populist politicians are constantly trying to open new axes of dispute within the EU. This is very dangerous for Poland and for the countries in our region, because truly getting angry with the Union is simply foolishness and a big mistake, because one day we will cross that thin red line and it will permanently separate us from the EU and we will be left outside its framework. Words are very important, and words cannot exclude us from this community, and politicians should know how important this is for all of us, for Poles, for Europeans – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a briefing in London.
- It's a shame this day [Brexit] has come. I hope Poland never faces this, as Poles don't want to leave the EU and wish to be an important member of Europe – emphasized the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.

Kidawa-Błońska:
As Poles, We Must Ensure No One Thinks of Taking Us Out of the EU. It's Our Patriotic Duty
- As Poles, we must truly ensure that no one thinks of taking us out of the EU. It is our duty. It is our patriotic duty, because if we want to be a safe country, if our history is to be respected, if the truth about us is to be respected, we must have allies, and we will not find them anywhere outside the EU. The Union is most important to us - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a briefing in London.
- What the Polish government is doing with the Polish judicial system, what is happening with the rule of law, is truly a big step towards leaving the EU. It is such actions, such words, such a lack of dialogue. Perhaps no one is officially saying yet that we are leaving the Union, but all these things raise concerns, and we, as Poles, have the right to worry about this and wonder what will happen next, because fortunately, surveys show that acceptance and respect for the Union among Poles are growing, and this is the only positive thing that has happened recently. However, politicians, as the example of Great Britain has shown, can do a lot, a lot of harm by only thinking about their own party's interests and thinking purely populistically. If it weren't for populism and the desire to win elections, I have the impression that Great Britain would still be part of the European community - said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.

"The fact that we can purchase these aircraft, that they will become part of the most modern equipment of the Polish army, the Polish Air Force, is primarily thanks to us being members of the North Atlantic Alliance today, which is a reliable, good ally, fulfilling its commitments, a sure partner, and this also means a serious approach to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty. We have proven many times and continue to prove that we take the NATO 360-degree principle and the principle of allied solidarity seriously," said President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony of signing the agreement for the purchase of F-35 aircraft.
16:45
„This is a memorable moment. For not just decades, but for around 200 years, Poland has been striving to rid itself of the long, Russian shadow that has dominated this part of Europe. In our struggle for independence, we have had several key moments: 1989, and then 1993, when the last Soviet, Russian soldier left Polish soil. At the same time, we have been trying to achieve a modernization and technological leap. The Polish army has always stood in defense of Poland and strived to be as modern as possible” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the ceremony for signing the agreement to purchase F-35 aircraft.

- We have to wait [for the vaccine]; there will certainly be intensive work. Mr. Editor, a political statement right away. We will certainly not be able to do what Mrs. Ewa Kopacz did, which was not to import a vaccine to Poland if one appeared - said Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.
19:36
- If I received an invitation, I wouldn't go. However, if the Prime Minister [Gowin] believes it is necessary to go, to talk, then that is his absolute decision - said Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

Karczewski:
Every Activity of Marshal Grodzki is Political Activity
- This money [for Polonia activities] will be wasted [if it remains in the Senate]. I am convinced it will be used for political games. Every activity of Senator Grodzki, the Marshal, is political activity. Even with Vice-President Jourová. Why was Mr. Budka present at this meeting? - said Stanisław Karczewski in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.
20:24
- I have the impression that Madam Marshal is trying to strengthen her campaign at all costs, which has suddenly weakened. I don't know why. It's not that I'm attacking, it's just how I see the campaigns that have been announced - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

- 2.5% of GDP [on defense] is half a percent too much. The Left has spoken about this, will speak about it, and will speak about it boldly. We are spending a lot today on Polish armaments. We believe this amount should not go up - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.
