President Duda: We reacted adequately, because both I and the experts interpreted it as a provocation and believed a strong reaction would only cause a commotion. This is a kind of neo-Stalinist revisionism.
- We reacted adequately, because both I and the experts interpreted it as a provocation and believed a strong reaction would only cause a commotion. President Putin had his goal, in our assessment – to provoke us. The global public opinion behaved very well. Our reaction was calm and balanced – said President Andrzej Duda in Gość Wiadomości. - There was no certainty that I would be able to discuss the speeches with President Putin, so we did not risk a statement from the Polish President, to have [for it] for example, a reaction from the Russian embassy – the president said. - This is a kind of neo-Stalinist revisionism – said PAD.

Czarzasty:

I Will Nominate Biedroń as a Presidential Candidate

- Yes, the SLD management board will convene on Tuesday at 12:00 PM and, after discussion, will recommend a person as a candidate [for President of Poland]. At the convention on January 19th, which will involve all three parties, namely Razem, Wiosna, and SLD… This person will be the one approved by the convention, but I can tell you whom I will recommend to the board for approval. I will nominate Robert Biedroń as a candidate for President of Poland - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on "Śniadanie w Polsat News", confirming yesterday's information from 300POLITYKA.

- Mr. Biedroń, when it comes to the democratic side, will be the only person who will directly, very consistently, and precisely answer every question. We have no problem with what a secular state means, or women's rights. We have no problem answering questions related to social issues, or issues concerning registered partnerships - the SLD chairman continued.

President Duda on Convening a Cabinet Council for Tuesday: Crucial Security Matters Requiring Executive Branch Meeting. I Decided to Give it the Serious Standing of a Cabinet Council.
- I have made a decision and have already informed the Prime Minister that I am convening a Cabinet Council for the upcoming Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Presidential Palace. This is a meeting of the President and the entire government, where we will indeed consider the strategy for further action following everything we have already done together on two fronts, as they are globally connected in a sense. On the one hand, it concerns what will happen in the near future, including in Israel in connection with the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, but also the situation in the Middle East, as Israel is also involved there - said President Andrzej Duda on TVP.

- This translates into many possible economic issues, because if there were unfortunately to be some escalation in the Middle East, which must also be discussed and to which the meeting of the President with the Prime Minister and the entire government must serve. On the one hand, there is the issue of historical policy, on the other, raw material policy, and thirdly, military policy, very important security issues that require a meeting of the executive branch. This is why I decided to give it the serious standing of a Cabinet Council, and we will meet in this format next Tuesday, and the public will be informed of the conclusions. We have been working together for a long time; we have not yet worked in the format of a Cabinet Council, but we have a combination of contemporary context with historical context here, which is very difficult to separate now. Our viewers can rest assured; we are constantly analyzing security issues. We have extensive experience gained over recent years, both political and in terms of ensuring citizen security. We are simply acting, we believe it is our duty, and we are fulfilling these duties for the sake of Polish raison d'état - the President said on Gość Wiadomości TVP.

President Duda: Senate Speaker Grodzki Invites Russian Ambassador, They Smile and Take Photos Together. This is Not How Polish Politics Can Be Conducted, Hence No National Security Council Meeting, as Its Convening Has Purely Political Undertones
- Ms. Kidawa-Błońska attacked me right after December 27th, the day after Christmas, when many people were still in a festive mood and I was here at the Presidential Palace meeting with experts, planning this strategy, and consulting on this matter with the Prime Minister. Senate Speaker Mr. Grodzki invites the Russian ambassador to his place, they smile, they take photos together. This is not how Polish politics can be conducted, and that's why there will be no National Security Council meeting, because convening it has purely political undertones and is solely intended to serve a campaign that someone on the opposition side wants to wage – said President Andrzej Duda on Gość Wiadomości.

President Duda: If I wanted to campaign on this background, I would be the first to run to the media, as most opposition politicians have done, especially those who have announced they will be candidates in the elections.
- If I wanted to campaign on this background, I would be the first to run to the media, as most opposition politicians have done, especially those who have announced they will be presidential candidates, because that would have been the simplest solution. But I am the President of the Republic, I have duties towards Poland, I must primarily think about Polish affairs, because that is the most important thing. And responsible action in Polish affairs at this moment was to plan a certain strategy, which will not be a strategy of provocation, which will not be a strategy of engaging in a futile, adventurist dispute, but will be a strategy of speaking when the world hears it. The world does not hear every statement broadcast anywhere; the world hears statements at important junctures. That is why there will be no RBN [National Security Bureau session], which would be another opportunity to politically play out this problem within Poland, as opposition politicians unfortunately do today - said President Andrzej Duda in Gość Wiadomości.

President on Yad Vashem Invitation: I Am Still Considering the Matter. We Are in Contact Through Ambassador Magierowski. What's Most Important to Me is to Be Able to Speak About the Suffering of Polish Citizens, Including Jews
- I don't see a problem with convening the National Security Council. I made such a decision, for example, before the NATO summit, when we were making fundamental decisions for decades, when the NATO summit was starting here in Warsaw, and those were situations that required unity. Today, there isn't such a strategic need. There is the issue of the threat in the Middle East and the matter of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp. A meeting is being organized in Yad Vashem by a private foundation, which has invited leaders from all over the world, where President Putin, representatives from France and Germany are expected to be present. I expressed my expectation that as a representative of the country whose citizens were murdered in the largest numbers in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, but it turns out that the organizers have not made a decision on this, and I do not agree with this. I am still considering this matter. We are in contact through Ambassador Magierowski. What's most important to me is to be able to speak about the suffering of Polish citizens, including Jews. In short, to be able to speak about historical truth - said President Andrzej Duda in Gość Wiadomości.
