President Duda: I Assure You We Are Acting Calmly and Prudently Regarding Recent Events in Iraq, Prioritizing Poland's Security and Interests
"I assure you that regarding the recent events in Iraq, we are acting calmly and prudently, prioritizing the security and interests of Poland and our citizens" - President Andrzej Duda wrote on Twitter, sharing a statement from the National Security Bureau:
In connection with the recent events in Iraq, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, has requested detailed information from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and is currently consulting with Middle East experts. Furthermore, the President has instructed the National Security Bureau to monitor the situation in constant contact with the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to NATO, and local diplomatic posts. The President expresses hope for de-escalation of the conflict and for the maintenance of Euro-Atlantic unity, which serves to ensure stability in the region. At the same time, we inform that there are no signals indicating any threats to Poland and its citizens.
