I Can Sign the Prime Minister's Statement

I also spoke on this matter yesterday [referring to Vladimir Putin's words]. We had a conference. I will talk about our idea in a moment, but first, regarding the Prime Minister's statement, which I can absolutely sign. From the perspective of information and historical knowledge, it is very well prepared, but also, in my opinion, it very accurately refers to the losses of the Russian nation resulting from the activities of the communists in Russia, Stalin, all the barbaric things that happened there, millions of victims among Russian citizens or those of the then Soviet Union. Therefore, it is a response that I believe everyone can sign today, and it is good that it comes from the Prime Minister – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with Piotr Goćek on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

Sasin:

I See No Reason for Higher-Ranking Officials to Respond to Every Foolish Russian Statement

- Elevating the importance of responses to the nonsense emanating from Moscow today only serves to amplify the publicity and significance of that nonsense. We have a clear statement from Prime Minister Morawiecki on this matter on behalf of Poland. This statement is a joint declaration, as we know it was consulted and received the President's approval. I truly see no reason why, today, for every subsequent foolish statement from the Russian side, because that's how it must be described, we need voices from individuals of increasingly higher rank - Jacek Sasin said in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on the "Political Salon" on Radio Trójka.

Przydacz:

Putin is trying to provoke a new discussion on the causes of World War II so that in Europe we start debating who was on the good side and who was on the bad side

Vladimir Putin is trying to provoke a new discussion on the causes of World War II so that in Europe we start debating who was on the good side and who was on the bad side. The Soviet Union would be presented as merely a liberator in this narrative” – said Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info.

Financial compensation to equalize electricity price hikes to this year's level. The decision has been made that such a system will be introduced.
Financial compensation to equalize the increase in [electricity] prices to this year's level. As I announced, and as the government, Prime Minister Morawiecki, announced. The decision has been made that such a compensation system will be introduced. This is a draft bill. For families, for households, as we announced from the beginning - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on 'Political Salon' on Trójka radio.

"We Are Winning This Clash Informationally, in the Hearts and Minds of Ordinary People"

"I think we are winning this clash informationally, at the level of hearts and minds of ordinary people. Ordinary people all over the globe are reacting appropriately. They are simply shaking their heads a bit" - said Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info.

Przydacz:

We Don't Always Need to Speak at the Highest Level, the President's Level. The Prime Minister's Response, Well-Received Globally, Was Adequate

The stance of the Presidential Palace and the President is correct. We don't always need to speak at the highest level, the President's level. There is no higher representative of the Republic of Poland. Vladimir Putin, through Kremlin propaganda, is attempting to provoke the president and force us into a discussion at the highest level. The Prime Minister's response, which was very well-received globally, was adequate” – said Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info.

Sasin:

I expect what message Grodzki is taking to Brussels, and unfortunately, it will be a continuation of the policy of reporting on Poland to European institutions

- I view this negatively, because I expect what message Marshal Grodzki is taking to Brussels, and unfortunately, it will be a continuation of the policy that the opposition has pursued over the last four years, namely, the policy of reporting on Poland to European institutions - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Polskie Radio Trójka's "Salon polityczny".

Bielan:

Putin Began Using False History to Build Russian Nationalism, While Many Polish Politicians Ignored It for Years

"Putin began falsifying history a few years after coming to power. He took power in 2000. He has been in power for 20 years, and after a few years, he also began using this false history as a way to build Russian nationalism. Meanwhile, for many years, many Polish politicians pretended not to hear or see it. We invited the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to a meeting of Polish ambassadors in 2010. We shook hands with Putin on the pier, we made various friendly gestures, and we should have reacted much earlier" – said PiS MEP Adam Bielan in an interview with Jan Wróbel on Radio TOK FM's Morning program.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Propose Further Steps to Enhance Our Response, Including a United Citizen Initiative. We Encourage You to Send Letters of Protest to Russian Embassies.

- We propose something else that can enhance our response. There is a political response from the government, from opposition politicians, a joint one today, which is very good. There should also be a joint response from citizens, which is why yesterday we proposed a letter that I sent with Piotr Zgorzelski, along with other representatives of our club, to the Russian Ambassador here in Poland. We also encourage you: let's send this letter, which is available on our websites and social media, or your own letters of protest to the Russian embassies, to the representations of the Russian Federation here in Poland, the embassy, the consulate. But I would also like to address the Polish diaspora, the Polish community in the East, all our compatriots in various countries, to send such letters to the FR embassies in the territories where they reside, condemning these words, correcting falsehoods, defending historical truth, and Poland's role in World War II - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Piotr Gocek on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

Inviting Kidawa-Błońska to a Debate

- This will be an interesting contest [in the presidential election]. I would like to invite her now on the last day of the year. For the past dozen or so days of this year, I have been trying to invite Madam Marshal [Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska] to a debate. So far, it hasn't worked out, so I hope that soon, after the new year, in an atmosphere of positive rivalry, we will engage in a debate, and I would like to call for such a debate. I am interested in all candidates participating in a joint debate. I am mentioning Madam Marshal because she was a candidate for Prime Minister. At that time, there was no opportunity to discuss with her in televised debates. There was one, a second, a third, radio debates, she wasn't in any of them. I, as the leader of a party competing with her, did not manage to debate her, so I hope that now, as a presidential candidate, this debate will happen, which is why I will be calling for it. I believe the first topic that needs to be addressed is healthcare, as there is an enormous need there. There is also an issue related to Poland's security, which is even coming to the forefront after President Putin's statements, and there are many other issues worth discussing - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Piotr Goćek on "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

Kidawa-Błońska in New Year's Message to Poles: Most of Us Feel All Power Shouldn't Be in One Pair of Hands. We Feel Every Corruption Has Its End. I Will Undertake the Biggest Challenge of My Life in the Coming Year
- I think most of us feel that all power shouldn't be in one pair of hands. We also feel that every corruption has its end - says Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in her New Year's message, which 300POLITYKA is publishing first. The candidate's address shows a more decisive tone than before. Kidawa speaks of the biggest challenge of her life, which is running in the presidential elections. - I believe we deserve the future of a great nation - says the Civic Platform candidate. The past year was full of emotions and important events. Good and bad. We shared great, joyous, and pride-filling moments as a community, like the Nobel Prize for a Polish writer. But there were also difficult, even embarrassing moments. Most importantly, however, hope for change emerged in the past year. The opposition's victory in the Senate elections gave us this, but I think this hope has deeper roots. I think most of us feel that all power shouldn't be in one pair of hands. We also feel that every corruption has its end. I believe that just as the past year was a year of great hope, the coming year will be a year of positive change. I believe that as Poles, we can become one again. I believe we deserve the future of a great nation. However, a condition for this greatness must be respect and care for every citizen, regardless of their wealth, origin, or any differences. Because the greatness of a nation is measured by the prosperity and daily happiness of each of us, including the weakest. Today, I want to wish you that the coming year will be the beginning of a better future. But I will not limit myself to wishes; I intend to act to make this happen. I will undertake the biggest challenge of my life in the coming year. If you support me, we will make these wishes a reality. May the New Year become the beginning of a new era - says the Civic Platform candidate in her New Year's address.

"The Political Symbol of 2019 Will Be the Number 5": The Chancellery of the Prime Minister Summarizes the Past Year with an Online Spot

The Chancellery of the Prime Minister is summarizing the year 2019 online – for this occasion, they have prepared a special spot featuring images from 2019 and a fragment of Mateusz Morawiecki's exposé. Since morning, graphics with the hashtag #2019naPlus have been published on the government's social media channels, presenting the government's successes in the last 12 months.

- The political symbol of 2019 will be the number 5. It was during this time that the government implemented Kaczyński's 'five' – a launchpad for success in the two elections of 2019 – to the European Parliament and parliamentary elections – says one of our interlocutors close to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- This expansion of 500+ to every child, the 13th pension, 0% PIT for young people, a universal reduction in PIT tax, and bus connections were significant support in confirming the effectiveness and efficiency of Mateusz Morawiecki's government and the entire United Right camp – emphasizes our interlocutor.

The Chancellery of the Prime Minister also lists other successes of individual ministries, including the introduction of e-prescriptions, military purchases, U.S. troops in Poland, the commencement of the Vistula Spit canal construction, and the opening of nearly 450 km of new expressways.

Terlecki:

We Wish for Media Serving Deceivers, Lying, and Presenting a False Image of Politics, Culture, and the Economy to See Reason in the New Year

Ryszard Terlecki, the current Sejm Marshal and a prominent figure in the Law and Justice (PiS) party, expressed his wishes for the upcoming year on Twitter. He stated: "We wish for those media outlets that serve deceivers, lie, and present a false image of politics, culture, and the economy to see reason in the New Year." This statement, published on December 30, 2019, reflects a critical stance towards certain segments of the Polish media landscape, perceived by the ruling party as being disingenuous and misleading in their reporting. The sentiment suggests a desire for greater journalistic integrity and a more accurate portrayal of national affairs. Szczerski:

President Duda Disappointed by Russia's Reaction to PM's Statement; No New Official Polish Remarks Expected Soon

- President Andrzej Duda expresses disappointment with the Russian side's reaction to the statement made by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, which was prepared in consultation with him. Both the low diplomatic level of the response and its content do not serve the seriousness of the discussion and prevent its substantive continuation. Comments made in recent hours regarding the opinions expressed by the US Ambassador in Warsaw, Georgette Mosbacher, also indicate a rising level of negative emotions. The President believes it is time to cease this exchange of opinions, which, in his conviction, leads nowhere. Therefore, no new official statements from the Polish side should be expected in the near future – Krzysztof Szczerski, Head of the Presidential Cabinet, informed 300POLITYCE.

- The President will pay tribute and recall the proper memory of the human tragedy brought about by World War II at the appropriate time and place, namely during the solemn observances of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau in January. The President believes that words of truth from the highest representatives of states should be expressed with respect and in situations appropriate for this. The gravity of the subject, respect for the victims, and the concern for preserving the truth about those times therefore dictate that the exchange of views, in the form and style in which it has been conducted in recent weeks, be closed today, while reserving the right to defend the good name of Poland and Poles – the presidential minister emphasized.

- At the same time, the President expresses gratitude to all representatives of states, institutions, and Polish and foreign organizations that have supported the Polish voice in defense of truth in recent days. This support indicates that the strategy we adopted in response to the campaign of lies, developed after consultations and as a result of decisions made by the President at the end of last week, was correct. In connection with the upcoming New Year, we express the hope and expectation that the year 2020 – another year of great historical anniversaries – will be observed by the authorities of all states in a manner that promotes reconciliation and truth – Szczerski added.

Tusk:

I cut my holiday short immediately after the Anodina report, even though I love skiing too

Donald Tusk, the former Prime Minister of Poland and former President of the European Council, responded to criticism regarding his holiday on New Year's Eve. He stated that he immediately interrupted his vacation after the publication of the Anodina report, despite his fondness for skiing.

The tweet, shared on January 1, 2020, linked to a Twitter post by Donald Tusk: https://twitter.com/donaldtusk/status/1212036980466425856?s=12

The Anodina report likely refers to the findings of the Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) regarding the Smolensk air disaster in 2010, which claimed the lives of Polish President Lech Kaczyński and many other prominent figures. While the exact details of the report's publication and Tusk's holiday timeline are not fully elaborated in this snippet, his statement indicates a prioritization of official duties over personal leisure when significant national matters arise.

Dear Compatriots!

Ladies and Gentlemen!

We are bidding farewell to 2019. What word can we use to summarize it?

That word is energy. The ambition and zeal of Poles continue to inspire admiration! The pace of economic growth places us among the frontrunners in Europe. When I speak with people, I often hear about a higher standard of living for Polish families. About overcoming further barriers of impossibility. About modern solutions and investments. Including in 'green energy', clean water, and clean air.

Another word for 2019 is turnout. The record number of votes cast in the elections to the European Parliament and to the Sejm and Senate was a true success for Polish democracy. We can all congratulate ourselves on it. Our civic community is growing stronger. And with it – the Republic.

The word of the year is also security. I am greatly satisfied that I participated in negotiations that resulted in deepened cooperation among NATO members and an increased presence of American forces in Poland. The procurement of the most modern weaponry for the Polish Army and joint exercises with our allies are ongoing. Our country's borders are well guarded.

Energy security was strengthened by this year's decisions ensuring us stable supplies of natural gas and crude oil. Social security increased thanks to the introduction of benefits such as the 13th pension and the 500+ program for the first child.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

What awaits us from the first of January?

I trust it will be a year of Polish victories! That the word we will conjugate most often in 2020 will be 'success'.

On the centenary of the victorious Battle of Warsaw in 1920, we will recall the struggles that decided the outcome of the Polish-Bolshevik War – and also the fate of the world a hundred years ago.

Great sporting emotions also await us. We are counting on victories for our national team during the European Football Championship and on medals for Polish athletes during the summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. We will be cheering for the White and Reds!

International relations involve cooperation, but also competition. I am certain that an independent Poland in a united Europe – a efficiently governed Poland – will also strengthen its strong position in 2020.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Dear Compatriots at home and abroad!

I wish that the new year brings you many personal victories and successes! That your desires and expectations come true. That all your plans succeed. Please accept my wishes for health, family happiness, and prosperity. May mutual kindness and courtesy help us navigate life with peace and equanimity.

Once again – all the best!

Happy New Year!
