Pitera:

Frankly, the Entire PO Debate Was Uninspiring

- If we are to talk about specifics, then President Jaśkowiak undoubtedly spoke more specific points, I have no doubt about that. However, frankly, the entire debate was uninspiring, and I only watched it because I am affiliated with Civic Platform and I am greatly bothered by the currently graciously reigning Andrzej Duda - said Julia Pitera in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia ZET".

08:19

Pitera:

For four years, it was impossible to find someone within the party to slowly promote. I cannot understand this.
- I can wonder why for four years it was impossible to find someone within the party to slowly promote, groom, etc. I cannot understand this, but I hope that many sensible candidates will still emerge - said Julia Pitera in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia ZET".

08:26

Pitera on Civic Platform Primaries: My Sympathy is Quite Cool Towards Both Candidates. I Hope They Will Sharpen During the Campaign
According to what I read in the newspapers, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska will receive the nomination - said Julia Pitera in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the "Gość Radia ZET" program. - My sympathy is quite cool when it comes to both candidates. I am speaking completely honestly. I only hope that the candidate who is selected, regardless of the motivations behind it, whether various factions are indeed behind it, that these candidates will nevertheless sharpen up during the campaign itself - Pitera added.

Czarzasty on Hołownia: Another TVN Journalist Running for President
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. Personally, because I heard your discussion before the program, it's the center-right electorate. I'm hardly scared anymore, but I think when he gets into specifics… I know Mr. Hołownia's statements regarding, for example, in vitro, where he was strongly skeptical about whether to use this method or not and whether there aren't other, greater needs. When I look at Mr. Hołownia's statements on a secular state, on civil unions… I have a slightly different opinion on this. I think the time has passed when voters are a bit for a secular state, a bit for freedom, a bit for women's rights. I think voters expect clear positions on these matters. Therefore, are such watered-down positions good? I don't know, but it will turn out. An interesting person, it's interesting to what extent a person who is not just a celebrity. He publishes books, he is a person who conducts charitable activities. It's awkward for me to assess [if he is presidential material]. Another journalist from TVN running for president. Because I'll remind you, the first journalist was Magdalena Ogórek. She didn't succeed. Will he succeed, running a program? We'll see if this is a format for success for Mr. Hołownia? I don't know. I like him, he's likeable. Will being likeable and popular be enough to be president - we'll find out soon - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:39

Czarzasty on Presidential Candidate: "Let Us Make Our Decision Peacefully"

- This Saturday, we will make a decision regarding the consolidation of the party. We will do this job on Saturday. We will do it, and we will deal with the matter of the presidency. There is no shortage of those willing to run for president. My friend Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced his candidacy 2-3 months ago. Is this the candidacy that all the media are talking about? Ms. Kidawa-Błońska was supposed to become Prime Minister 4 or 5 months ago. Ultimately, Civic Platform lost 60 seats. Let us make our decision peacefully - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

Mitera on Support Lists for KRS Candidates: I Would Very Much Like Them to Be Revealed. I Think Sooner or Later These Lists Will Be Revealed, Because There is No Secret There.

"Following the ruling from Luxembourg, the model has been indicated, and now it is indeed possible to examine whether each judge meets this model. Regarding the body that I have the honor and pleasure to represent, it was done in a transparent, European manner, with all the guarantees of the judges' impartiality and independence," stated KRS spokesperson Maciej Mitera in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

"I assure you that, as far as I am concerned, there are 25 names of judges who have given me their support. I will repeat this like a mantra – I would very much like for this to be revealed. I think sooner or later these lists will be revealed, because there is no secret there. However, by law, this annex, these lists, are not subject to disclosure," he added.

10:21

Sasin on Hołownia: 'My Impression is This is an Idea to Create a Polish Zelensky, Repeating a Scenario Successful in Ukraine, but Poland is Not Ukraine'

Frankly, it's hard to say what kind of candidacy [Szymon Hołownia's] is, who is behind it, and who is primarily financing it, because that's the key question. I don't want to make any assumptions. I think we will find out, because it's important, citizens should have knowledge about the background. My impression is that this is an idea to create a Polish Zelensky, repeating a scenario that was successful in Ukraine, but Poland is not Ukraine. Polish democracy is a much more solidified, mature democracy than Ukrainian democracy. I think this is not a candidacy that will break the bank in the presidential elections” - said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin in „Kwadrans polityczny” on TVP1.

10:26

Sasin:

Complete Degeneration Visible Within Civic Platform

A complete degeneration is visible within Civic Platform. The candidacies, which in my opinion are not capable of inspiring Poles in the upcoming elections. Neither Mrs. Kidawa-Błońska nor Mr. Jaśkowiak are such candidates” - said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets, Jacek Sasin, in the program “Political Quarter of an Hour” on TVP1.

10:27

Sasin on the PO Primary Debate: A Poor Spectacle. It Showed These Candidates Are Poor Candidates

It [the PO primary debate] was a poor spectacle. It showed that these candidates are poor candidates. I am not surprised that those who would like to remove PiS from power and turn us back from the path we have been on for 4 years are looking for some alternative scenario, and Mr. Hołownia will probably be it” – said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin in the program “Political Quarter of an Hour” on TVP1.

12:12

Sellin:

A Part of the Judiciary Has Actively Engaged in Opposition Activities

- A part of the judiciary has actively engaged in opposition activities. There is no country in Western civilization where judges participate in political rallies and demonstrations, and this is happening in Poland. Moreover, at rallies and demonstrations where very vulgar language is used against state authorities and politicians. This is a form of revolt, but I emphasize – of a part – of the judiciary, and the Polish state will certainly deal with it – stated Jarosław Sellin in an interview with Michał Rachoń on the TVP Info program "Jedziemy".

- Unfortunately, one can sometimes get the impression that this corporate thinking about the judicial community itself is detached from thinking about the Polish state. Please note Ms. Gersdorf's statement from a few days ago, when she considered judicial power to be separate from state power – he continued.

12:15

Sellin on Hołownia's Candidacy: We Do Not Underestimate Any Candidates
We do not underestimate any candidates. We, as a political camp, made a decision long ago that we want Andrzej Duda to be our candidate. Having learned from experience, for example from the last elections, I emphasize, we do not underestimate any candidates. We are waiting to see who that candidate will be - stated Jarosław Sellin in a conversation with Michał Rachoń on the TVP Info program “Jedziemy”.

Banaś Refuses to Appear Before Senate Committee

- NIK President Marian Banaś has just refused to appear before the Senate Committee on Local Government and State Administration - wrote the Director of the Senate Information Centre, Grzegorz Furgo, on Twitter.

Jackowski on the Head of NIK's Absence from Tomorrow's Senate Committee Session: "In This Atmosphere, Banasi's Contact with the Media and Parliamentarians is Not Advisable"

I am not surprised by the decision of the President [Banaś]. Firstly, there is no obligation to appear at a committee session. Secondly, I believe that in this atmosphere and in this situation, from the perspective of the course of action President Banaś has taken, contact with the media and parliamentarians is not advisable, and he is trying to minimize such contacts” - Senator Jan Maria Jackowski from PiS told journalists in the Sejm.

President Duda on Strengthening NATO's Eastern Flank: We Fought For This Presence in the Era of Another Russian Imperialist Aggression
"This is why, in the era of Russia's attack on Ukraine, in the era of another Russian imperialist aggression, we invited our allies, soldiers from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization states, to Poland. We fought for this presence so that NATO would not only be in Western Europe, but also with us, on this so-called eastern flank of the Alliance. Today, the presence of these soldiers is a fact, and above all, among them are soldiers of the American army, the strongest army in the world. We have excellent relations with the United States today. We are not only a responsible ally, but above all, we are taken seriously," said President Andrzej Duda in Brzozów.

17:24

PM:

Our National Tax Administration's Efficiency Has Recovered Tens of Billions of Zlotys from VAT Mafias; We Have Fixed a System Riddled with Holes for 250 Years

The efficiency of our actions, the National Tax Administration, has led to the recovery of tens of billions of zlotys from the hands of VAT mafias, tax criminals, and VAT robbers. I know this sum is difficult to imagine. All our family support programs - 500+, 300+ - the Local Road Fund, development programs, and 10 billion more for educational subsidies were made possible by tightening the tax system. This is acknowledged by the European Commission, the World Bank, and all international institutions that agree with us, PiS, on this matter. We are the formation that has effectively repaired a system riddled with holes for 25 years, but also for 250 years – hence my reference to our aristocrats from the past who sold our homeland. Today, we have effectively repaired it and transferred this money for social purposes, for the people,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Godziszewo.

17:25

PMM:

The President's prerogatives are final according to the constitution. The appointment of judges is final. We will not allow any legal chaos.

We will certainly continue the reform of the judiciary. The prerogatives of the President of the Republic of Poland are final according to the constitution. The appointment of judges is final. We will not allow any legal chaos, legal anarchy. We will ensure that there is legal order and an increasingly just, independent, and effective judicial system” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Godziszewo.

Budka on 300 about conversation with Tusk and PO elections: We agreed that the Platform needs a new injection of energy

- We talked about current politics. Donald Tusk asked about issues related to the selection of a presidential candidate. We also touched upon the topic of elections for a new head of the Platform. Tusk, as befits a former party leader, is interested in the atmosphere within the PO. We agreed that the Platform needs a new injection of energy, a team of engaged people who see the need for change. We arranged to talk again on Saturday in Warsaw during the promotion of Donald Tusk's latest book - said the head of the PO-KO parliamentary club, Borys Budka, in an interview with 300POLITYKA.
At the meeting of EPP parliamentary group leaders, the new President of the European Commission presented the priorities for this term. Discussions focused particularly on climate challenges, business competitiveness, digitalization, and Industry 4.0. During his stay in Brussels, a nearly hour-long one-on-one meeting with Donald Tusk took place.

19:28

Kurtyka:

Our transformation towards ever-improving quality of life must go hand-in-hand with ensuring energy security

"We certainly face enormous challenges regarding civilizational backlogs, such as air quality and smog. If we think about the evolution of the entire heating and energy system, we must consider the increasing share of zero-emission sources that will not cause air quality problems. This transformation of ours towards ever-improving quality of life must go hand-in-hand with ensuring energy security," said the Minister of Climate, Michał Kurtyka, in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

19:36

Kurtyka on the "Clean Air" Program: Never Before in Poland's History Has There Been Such a Huge Program and Such Great Importance Dedicated to Fighting Smog as This Government Has Given

"The Clean Air program is an unprecedented program. Never before in Poland's history has there been such a huge program and such great importance dedicated to fighting smog as this government has given. We have the tools for this. We also have the "My Electricity" program," said Minister of Climate Michał Kurtyka in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

19:54

Lubnauer:

Hołownia's Message Reminded Me a Lot of the Miss World Pageant

- Indeed, Szymon Hołownia's message reminded me a lot of the Miss World pageant. When asked, 'What would you like to do in the world?' [the answer is] 'Peace, feed the hungry, embrace the poor, etc.' - said Katarzyna Lubnauer in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program 'Wydarzenia i Opinie' (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

20:07

Lubnauer:

There was a joke. Who should be put forward for president? Someone who can beat PiS. So, Banaś

- There was a joke. Who should be put forward for president? Someone who can beat PiS. So, Banaś. I'm joking. However, the NIK president is a very big burden for PiS - Katarzyna Lubnauer said in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program “Wydarzenia i Opinie” on Polsat News.

20:15

Bortniczuk:

I Don't Think Duda Is Particularly Obedient to His Party. Lubnauer: Is That a Joke?
I don't think Andrzej Duda has been particularly obedient to the party he comes from, even in this term – said Kamil Bortniczuk in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program „Wydarzenia i Opinie” on Polsat News. - Is that a joke? – Lubnauer inquired. - It's not a joke. Please look at the statistics. Andrzej Duda has vetoed more bills than Bronisław Komorowski – replied the MP from Porozumienie.

20:20

Bortniczuk:

As the United Right, We Will Focus on Highlighting Positive Events of Duda's Presidency

- As the United Right, we will focus on highlighting positive events associated with the presidency of Andrzej Duda, who has honorably represented our country for five years - said Kamil Bortniczuk in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

20:23

Bugaj:

Andrzej Duda Carries the Full Burden of Law and Justice; Negative Developments May Occur, as I Believe the Banaś Case Could Become Major and Evolving
- Andrzej Duda is carrying the entire burden of Law and Justice, and what happens there, and negative developments could occur, and I think the Banaś case could be major and evolving, that could finally tip the scales. One would wish for the opposition to be more effective - said Ryszard Bugaj in Kropka nad I.

20:29

Jażdżewski:

Duda Could Face a Komorowski-Like Situation – Everyone Against Him, Even Those with Similar Views
- Andrzej Duda is winning this match on points, but as in boxing, recently there was a loud duel, but he is a boxer with a very weak chin. A well-prepared opponent, or a competitor with a distinct personality, who is not afraid of their views, is capable of defeating Duda not on points, but by knockout. Duda could find himself in a situation like Komorowski's earlier: everyone against him, including people with quite similar views, because both Kosiniak-Kamysz, as well as the recently departed TVN star Szymon Hołownia, are center-right individuals – Leszek Jażdżewski said on Kropka nad I.

20:40

Jażdżewski:

Are We Facing a New Trend for the Opposition in a New Formula, or Has the PO Formula of 4 and 8 Years Ago Been Exhausted?
- Has a situation arisen where a new trend is visible, because Duda then unexpectedly marked the beginning of a new trend, i.e., PiS's victory. And are we facing a new trend for the opposition in some new formula, because the PO formula from 4 and 8 years ago has been exhausted, or not yet - said Leszek Jażdżewski in Kropka nad I.

20:52

Jażdżewski:

TVN Has Journalists Politically More Experienced Than Szymon Hołownia. Olejnik: He Wasn't Our Employee, Just a Collaborator
- That's an interesting idea. Within TVN itself, there are - I believe - journalists with more political experience than Szymon Hołownia. If you, Madam Editor, were to run, no one would be surprised - Leszek Jażdżewski said on Kropka. - He is not our employee, he was just a collaborator - Olejnik responded. - But it seems quite puzzling to transition from entertainment into politics in one fell swoop - Jażdżewski continued. - He was also a columnist for Tygodnik, the editor-in-chief of Ozon - Olejnik stated. - We had the Kukiz case. If you look at him, he didn't represent much, but he expressed a certain social anger. I tried to listen to Hołownia without prejudice, and it was quite a strange event, because the first applause he received was for saying he was in favor of the separation of church and state. It was a strange impression, because people sat in complete silence while he delivered a kind of sermon. And it was difficult to learn anything from that speech, other than that he is for new divisions in Poland and that we should unite. It's possible that he isn't perceived as a favorite in our big-city bubble, but out there, in the so-called provinces, people are looking for someone who speaks their language and expresses their emotions - Jażdżewski said. - But Andrzej Duda speaks their language precisely... - Monika Olejnik reacted.

20:59

Jażdżewski on the Banaś Case: The Question is Whether the Opposition Can Find the Language to Make This a Key Point of Accusation Against the PiS Government

- The question is whether the opposition will find the language that can make this a key point of accusation against the PiS government and be credible in doing so. Because people remind Civic Platform about the "octopus scandal" and whether there will be a "Cato" who can use this - said Leszek Jażdżewski in an interview with TVN24.

- But this "calling Banaś" and the hourly hotel have entered the lexicon just like the "octopus scandal" - said Olejnik.

21:08

Jażdżewski:

It Was a 'Sleep Inducer.' Bugaj: I Partly Tuned Out, I Honestly Admit. Jażdżewski: You Could Hear the Whirring of Remotes as People Switched to Sports Channels
- It was a 'sleep inducer' - Jażdżewski said when asked by Olejnik about the debate in Civic Platform (PO). - I partly tuned out, I honestly admit - Ryszard Bugaj added. - You could hear the whirring of remotes as people switched to sports channels - Jażdżewski said. - The PO candidate's chances of success are diminishing - Bugaj added.
