December 5th falls today.

Dera on the Banaś Case: "The Situation is Difficult. The Problem is Very Complex. The Legal Provisions Are Constructed Such That Politically, Little Can Be Done Now."

- The situation is difficult [with Marian Banaś]. Let's not hide it. The problem is, in my opinion, very complex, because today there is no point in looking back at the past, only looking forward, and indeed there is a problem because the legal provisions are constructed such that, at the moment, politically, little can be done - stated Andrzej Dera in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:00

Dera:

President Duda was among the first to call for Banasi's resignation

- The President [Duda] was among the first to call for Marian Banasi to resign. Among the first. In an interview, as far as I remember, he appealed, and that's precisely what you just quoted. This is fundamental. If these accusations are confirmed, then we can talk about resignation - stated Andrzej Dera in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Interview".

08:09

Dera:

I Know Piotrowicz Personally, and He Is a Very Decent Man

- I will put it this way. I know Mr. Piotrowicz personally, and he is a very decent man. In my opinion, he was greatly wronged because he became a certain symbol. I know him as a person and I can truly say only compliments, because he is a truly decent man. I have known Mr. Piotrowicz for many years, I was a Member of Parliament and I cannot say a bad word about him - stated Andrzej Dera in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:13

Dera:

Today, the President will receive oaths from Constitutional Tribunal judges

- Yes, as far as I know, today there will be the swearing-in [of the newly elected Constitutional Tribunal judges] - stated Andrzej Dera in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

Bielan on the Banaś Case: I counted on him realizing over the weekend, with time to breathe and reflect, that staying in this position is impossible
I don't know Marian Banaś personally, so it was difficult for me to predict exactly how he would behave in this situation. However, I counted on him realizing over the weekend, with time to breathe and reflect, that staying in this position is impossible. That didn't happen. I understand that Banaś feels innocent. He has the right to do so. Perhaps even wronged. He understands that it's about media attacks. He has the right to do so. In the eyes of the law, he is innocent until finally convicted by a court. Ordinary citizen Marian Banaś, who has every right to prove his innocence, is one thing, and Marian Banaś, who currently holds the position of President of the Supreme Audit Office, is another - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

WKK on Tusk's Words: A Moderate Centre Already Exists in Poland and Needs Support. I Don't Think the Leftist Platform Would Build It
- The moderate centre – I actually like that term, because we use it, and it describes the Polish Coalition. A moderate centre already exists in Poland and needs to be supported. We are forming it with Paweł Kukiz, Marek Biernacki, and Jacek Protasiewicz. I don't think the leftist Platform would want to build a moderate centre. I don't think that's the direction or the invitation, - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the Trójka Political Salon in an interview with Beata Michniewicz.

08:29

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Kukiz: "I would like him to get actively involved."
- I would like him to get actively involved. He is the head of the Polish Coalition council, and he received 20% of the vote in the previous presidential elections. We agreed that we would travel extensively around the country and promote our legislative proposals. Paweł Kukiz was in the Lublin region. I was the only one in the debate on the Prime Minister's exposé who appealed for an improvement in the fate of entrepreneurs. The voluntary payment of social security contributions needs to be introduced - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the Trójka Political Salon.

08:35

Bielan:

There were pressures for Banaś to resign

- There were pressures for Marian Banaś to resign. We differ from our predecessors in that in the case of Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, whose immunity was revoked in August 2015, he stayed in his position – stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- In Kwiatkowski's case, who was elected with the votes of PO and PSL, he remained in office for 4 years after his immunity was revoked, and later received the support of Platforma politicians in the Senate elections. We differ from Sławomir Neumann, who says on his tapes: as long as you are with us, we will defend you – continued the PiS MEP.

08:42

Bielan:

If Banaś Had Been Elected by the PO-PSL Majority, This 'Series' Would Already Be Over and He'd Be Left Alone

- I am not attacking journalists. I am stating a fact. If Marian Banaś had been elected by the PO and PSL majority, this 'series' would likely already be ending and he would be left alone. But because he was a member of our political camp, there will be immense media pressure, and also immense political pressure from our side, until he resigns - stated Adam Bielan in a conversation with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:55

Bielan on Banasi: "Our Club's Leadership Should Form a Team to Consider Which Bill Proposal We Can Present."

- With absolute certainty, a team should be formed under the leadership of our club to consider which bill proposal we can present, although the situation is extremely difficult because we know the provisions of the Constitution regarding the term of office of the President of NIK (Supreme Audit Office) - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:54

Bielan:

Banaś Can Only Administer the Chamber. He Is Simultaneously Under Immense Political and Media Pressure. He Is Grilled by the Media Daily, and This Will Not End.

- Today we heard that the ABW [Internal Security Agency] has revoked Mr. President's [Marian Banaś] access to classified information, meaning he can only administer the chamber. Simultaneously, he is under immense political pressure, media pressure. He is grilled by the media daily, and this will not end. Also by PiS politicians, but primarily I'm talking about the grilling in the media. If Banaś thinks this will end in 2-3 days, it won't. If he had been elected by a majority of PO and PSL, like Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, the media would likely have found another topic after a few days, but since he was a member of our political camp, he will be grilled for as long as he doesn't leave this position - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

10:05

Bielan:

Even Mentally Strong Individuals Can't Withstand Media Pressure for Long

- Everything that is happening at the moment does not erase his [Marian Banaś]'s merits for the Polish state through the establishment of a strong state administration that effectively combatted various VAT mafias, thereby securing billions, tens of billions in additional revenue for all of us, but even if someone is mentally strong, I cannot imagine them enduring this kind of pressure, which we observe in the media, for more than a dozen days - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

10:12

Bielan:

To Win, President Duda Needs About a Million More Votes Than We Got in Recent Sejm and Senate Elections

- I disagree that this is not the best time. There are problems, but it's impossible to govern Poland and avoid this kind of trouble or slip-ups. Parties are made up of people, and people are not infallible. We are also fallible, we make mistakes, and personal errors happen to us - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- Presidential elections are a great challenge because the threshold required for victory is significantly higher. This is due to higher turnout, firstly, and secondly, one needs to secure 50% plus one vote in either the first or second round. So, calculating this in absolute numbers, President Duda needs approximately a million more votes than we gathered in the recent elections for the Sejm and Senate. This, of course, depends on the turnout. However, at the same time, in these elections, we have the best possible candidate. A politician who enjoys the greatest trust of Poles, a politician who leads in all polls. I am not saying these elections are decided; we absolutely cannot make the mistake of Bronisław Komorowski, who thought he had no one to lose to and is now a retired politician. But I have the impression from conversations with those around him and from observing President Duda that he is perfectly aware of the challenges that will arise in this campaign - he added.

10:35

President Duda Appoints Danuta Dmowska-Andrzejuk as Minister of Sport

- I am very pleased, and I say this primarily to the Prime Minister, that we can conclude this period of government formation after the recent parliamentary elections today. I am happy that all this is happening in such a stable manner, and above all, I congratulate the Prime Minister and am very pleased that for this important position of Minister of Sport in the Polish government, he has chosen and indicated a person so perfectly suited to fulfill this important role. Minister Danuta Dmowska-Andrzejuk is, first and foremost, an excellent, wonderful Polish athlete. That is probably the most important thing. She is indeed the most decorated Polish fencer, a winner of the individual world championship title, twice a silver medalist at the team world championships, a winner of the team European championships, and also a European vice-champion. Therefore, she has a great many sporting successes on the international stage, at the highest world level, and one can confidently say, a great sporting career, and consequently, a profound understanding of world and Polish sport, but above all, professional sport, truly from the ground up; one can confidently use such a description. Especially since this understanding of sport comes not only from the perspective of an athlete, but also, considering the life path of the minister, it encompasses an understanding of Polish and world sport from an organizational and coaching perspective as well - stated President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony appointing the new Minister of Sport.

- Therefore, I have no doubt that regarding the subject matter the minister is to deal with, and the good management of Polish sports affairs, we have found a person here, no longer a candidate, but a Minister of Sport, who will undoubtedly perfectly meet the expectations placed upon her. And what makes me immensely happy about this is that the minister is a young person, full of drive, full of energy, incredibly kind, sympathetic, one might say, a charming person. So I am certain that also in personal interactions, both with athletes and with everyone she will meet while fulfilling the duties of Minister of Sport, she will have excellent relationships and will create a truly excellent team that will perform its tasks brilliantly. But above all, this will also be a period of success for Polish sport, and also for the Republic of Poland. This, of course, includes not only care for athletes in the strict sense, but also care for amateur sport, care for broadly understood physical culture, as well as attention to Polish sports facilities and the investments needed in this area. But I am precisely convinced that the minister's youthful perspective, this bold vision of the modern development that sport needs in every its field and every its aspect, will certainly be perfectly realized here - continued PAD.

10:49

Kanthak:

PiS is not playing the Banaś case politically in any way

- If [Marian Banaś is] drawn into a political game, it is only from the opposition's side. After all, Law and Justice is not playing this politically in any way. One would have to ask the Supreme Audit Office, or the spokesperson... I don't understand how one can blame Law and Justice here for political fighting, for political maneuvering. There is a problem, a report from the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau has appeared, an investigation has been initiated by the prosecutor's office. There is no talk of politics here. We were talking about politics before the report from the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau was issued - stated Jan Kanthak in an interview with Łukasz Kijek on Gazeta.pl's Morning Interview.

- A report was created, and based on this report, the prosecutor's office is now acting. And only at this moment, when it is highly probable that some irregularities may have occurred with the asset declarations of President Marian Banaś, only then should he feel some sort of honorable impulse to resign, because Neumann's doctrine does not function here. What was recorded on the tapes, where Sławomir Neumann says: if there are accusations against you, it's fine, as long as you are in Civic Platform, not a hair on your head will fall - added the politician from Solidary Poland.

10:56

Gawkowski:

Banaś's Place is More in Prison Than as Head of NIK, and Lewica Will Speak Loudly About This

- We want [to dismiss Marian Banaś]. Constitutional changes are a game by PiS. The solution is simple. All you need to do is sign the motion proposed yesterday by Lewica, which is a motion for the State Tribunal - stated Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

- I think Lewica is the most consistent party here, because it shows both the path to dismissing President Banaś and clearly states that a potential criminal should not continue to hold an office tasked with overseeing other offices in Poland. NIK should be the pride of all institutions in Poland, and PiS is destroying this independence day after day, and most importantly, the good name of NIK - the head of the Lewica parliamentary club continued.

- Minister Banaś is currently the President of NIK. His place is more unfortunately in prison than as President of NIK, and Lewica will speak loudly about this - he emphasized.

11:03

Gawkowski on Presidential Elections: I Am Convinced We Have Two Candidates to Choose From Today. It's Zandberg and Biedroń

- I am convinced that today we have two candidates [for the President of Poland] from whom we will choose. These are Adrian Zandberg and Robert Biedroń. And this order, whether Biedroń or Zandberg, is arbitrary. I am convinced that one of them will run in these elections. I also have a feeling that we, as the Left, can afford it, and a female candidate might run. There is potential for many. It might happen, but it won't necessarily - stated Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti". As he emphasized, this is not yet decided, because the Left will not rush the decision, and it will most likely be made in January.

11:18

Kropiwnicki:

We demand that the head of the CBA disclose to MPs full information on the charges against Banaś

- We demand from the head of the CBA, Ernest Bejda, that he reveal to the Polish people what Marian Banaś is accused of, because today the situation is quite bizarre. It turns out that Banaś might face charges, as the prosecutor's office has initiated proceedings, and the CBA is submitting requests for charges, but in reality, no one knows what Marian Banaś is accused of, except for Mr. Kaczyński, Kamiński, and Bejda. Even if we wanted to file a motion for a State Tribunal for Banaś, we don't know what to write because we don't have the documents. Therefore, we demand that the head of the CBA provide MPs with full information regarding the charges against Marian Banaś. If these documents are classified, they should be transferred to the Chancellery of the Sejm. We have access to classified information, so we can review it, and that the content of the charges themselves, without the justification, be made public at least - stated Robert Kropiwnicki at a briefing in front of the CBA.

12:02

PiS Nominee for Constitutional Tribunal Judge: Rafał Wojciechowski

The Law and Justice (PiS) parliamentary club intends to nominate Professor Rafał Wojciechowski, the Vice-Rector of the University of Wrocław, as the new judge of the Constitutional Tribunal, 300POLITYKA has learned from sources close to the ruling party's club.

Our interlocutors indicate that this nomination was put forward by Jarosław Gowin's Agreement (Porozumienie) party, citing a statement by Marcin Ociepa. In an interview with Interia, Ociepa announced that the coalition partner within the United Right (Zjednoczona Prawica) would indeed propose the new Constitutional Tribunal judge.

According to the preliminary parliamentary schedule, the election will take place during the upcoming Sejm session, on the last day of deliberations, the morning of December 20th. The new judge will succeed Małgorzata Pyziak-Szafnicka, whose term concludes on January 5th. The Sejm's regulations stipulate that relevant motions must be submitted within 30 days prior to the expiry of a term.

Labour Chamber of the Supreme Court in Justification of Judgment Following ECJ Ruling: The National Council of the Judiciary Does Not Provide Sufficient Guarantees of Independence from Legislative and Executive Authorities, and This is the Starting Point f

The Labour Chamber of the Supreme Court, in the justification of its judgment following the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (ECJ), stated that the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) does not provide sufficient guarantees of independence from the legislative and executive authorities. This finding is a crucial starting point for assessing whether the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court is impartial.

This assessment is particularly relevant in the context of ongoing reforms within the Polish judiciary, which have been a subject of significant debate and legal challenges both domestically and at the European level. The ECJ's previous rulings have highlighted concerns regarding the rule of law in Poland, specifically concerning the appointment and independence of judges.

The Labour Chamber's reiteration of these concerns, directly stemming from the ECJ's pronouncements, emphasizes that the KRS's role in judicial appointments is perceived as lacking the necessary safeguards against political influence. This, in turn, directly impacts the legitimacy and impartiality of other judicial bodies, including the Disciplinary Chamber.

The article alludes to the implications of this stance, suggesting that it opens the door to further scrutiny of the Disciplinary Chamber's independence. The lack of confidence in the KRS's autonomy casts a shadow over the processes by which judges are selected and, consequently, the integrity of the courts themselves.

PM during the appointment of the Family Council: The family has always been at the center of attention for the PiS government, the United Right government
In the life of every state that wants to develop, the family must have a central place, because it is there that the fundamental seed for social, state, and individual life is created. Everyone receives upbringing and education there, each of us receives upbringing and education there, and that's where we are taught about life. Therefore, the family has always been at the center of attention for the PiS government, the United Right government, and that is why I would like to sincerely thank all of you, some of you have been involved with this topic for a long time, some are approaching it with enormous energy, you want to help build an appropriate program to strengthen the family, because it can be said with certainty that the family is such a central hub of social life, without which there is no long-term social development - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the ceremony of appointing the Family Council.

12:57

PMM:

Today, the Family is Under Ideological Attack. We Disagree with This Ideological Attack, with These Extremisms, From Wherever They Come.

- Today, the family, both in Europe and elsewhere in the world, including Poland, is the subject of an ideological attack. We not only disagree with this ideological attack, with these extremisms, from wherever they come. We believe that children, youth, and children within the family are genuinely the highest social value, a value upon which the future of the Republic of Poland depends. Therefore, one of the main tasks of the Family Council will be precisely to create an appropriate space for the development of our children, for our youth – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the ceremony establishing the Family Council.

- We want to create the best solutions, precisely also for women, which will enable, on the one hand, the best, most fruitful, and beautiful upbringing of children, and on the other hand, will provide this foundation of values, this axiological foundation, and thus also allow us to repulse these sometimes very cleverly conducted ideological actions aimed at destabilizing the family – PMM continued.

- Let us strengthen the role of women, both within the family, in social life, at work, and in their professional careers, so that everything can be properly reconciled – he added.

Szymon Hołownia Sparks Unprecedented Interest; Allies Invite to Gdańsk Event

- In recent weeks, Szymon Hołownia has generated far greater interest than any other politician in the country (sources: Google Trends, Sentione). On December 8, 2019, in Gdańsk, Szymon wants to inform Poles about the decision he has made, and most importantly, present its justification. Yesterday evening, the event "Why and What For?" was launched on Szymon Hołownia's official Facebook profile, where participants could register for this meeting. The seats at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre filled up within a few hours. Everyone will be able to watch the live broadcast on Szymon Hołownia's official Facebook profile - it was stated in a press release sent to the editorial office of 300POLITYKI.

14:40

Laskowski:

It seems to me that after today's ruling, the initiative should lie with the legislative or executive branch through amendments to regulations and laws.

- Of course, it is not up to me to set directions for the other branches of government. I have long advocated for these issues to be regulated by law. It seems to me that after today's ruling, especially considering the arguments presented in its support, the initiative should lie with the legislative or executive branch through amendments to regulations and laws - stated Michał Laskowski in an interview with journalists.

- I am calling for the stabilization of the situation. It seems that the most sensible approach would be to achieve this through amendments to the laws concerning the KRS and the Supreme Court - added the spokesperson for the Supreme Court.

Czerwińska Confirms: PiS Club Nominated Rafał Wojciechowski for Constitutional Tribunal Judge

This confirms today's information from 300POLITYKA. According to the preliminary schedule, the election will take place at the next Sejm session, on the last day of deliberations, on the morning of December 20th. The new judge will replace Małgorzata Pyziak-Szafnicka, whose term expires on January 5th. The Sejm's Rules of Procedure state that relevant applications must be submitted within 30 days prior to the expiry of the term.

16:01

Morawiecki:

"We've Thwarted the Biggest Drug Smuggling Operation in Decades"

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM): "It's rare that one can say with absolute certainty and strength that we have thwarted the biggest drug smuggling operation in many, many years. In terms of value, it's probably the biggest smuggling operation in at least the last 30 years, the period of free Poland, when the services have been acting solely for the benefit of the Republic of Poland. But I want to say that by doing so, we have saved not only many Poles but also many Europeans from tears, tragedy, broken lives, and death. This is because the smuggling operation involved approximately PLN 2 billion in value, with around 2 tons of cocaine, drugs that were being smuggled from Colombia through special, unconventional smuggling mechanisms. This was thwarted through highly effective actions by the National Revenue Administration (KAS) and the Central Bureau of Police Investigations (CBŚP). It was a very efficient, long-term preparatory operation that effectively prevented this, one could say, exceptional smuggling operation on a European scale, an exceptional attempt at smuggling."

He continued, "These international criminal groups are, unfortunately, among the best-organized criminal groups, so the professionalism of KAS and CBŚP employees is all the greater, and therefore I can say: we can sleep soundly, because the state is strong and efficient against these strong, efficient criminals and criminal groups, and compassionate towards the weaker. It is a huge reason for pride for me that we have services – financial, investigative, and police – now under Mariusz Kamiński, that operate at the highest level, at least European, if not world-class, in terms of professionalism."

https://twitter.com/PiotrMuller/status/1202596675086368769

16:28

PM:

"Today, we have a very good budget situation, and simultaneously a social situation where we've allocated tens of billions of zlotys for social, pro-family purposes. This is money from VAT mafias."
- It is criminals who should fear a strong, efficient state, not citizens fearing criminals. We are in a country that can fight and effectively combat large international criminal organizations. Just as KAS (National Revenue Administration) successfully dealt with, one might say, VAT mafias previously, and we owe this very good budget situation to the efficient operation of our services, and simultaneously our social situation where we've allocated tens of billions of zlotys for social, pro-family purposes. This is money from VAT mafias, neutralized by KAS, special services, including CBA (Central Anticorruption Bureau), ABW (Internal Security Agency), and I am grateful to our services and KAS for their efficient work. I am grateful and proud of them - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

President Duda Swears in New Constitutional Tribunal Judges: Pawłowicz, Piotrowicz, and Stelina

Today, President Andrzej Duda received the oath of office from the judges of the Constitutional Tribunal: Krystyna Pawłowicz, Stanisław Piotrowicz, and Jakub Stelina – the Constitutional Tribunal announced.

18:56

Kidawa-Błońska:

As President, I will ensure all illegally appointed judges are removed from the Constitutional Tribunal
President Duda lacked the courage to oppose these candidacies. As can be seen, fear of President Kaczyński is more important than upholding the Constitution. As President, I will ensure all illegally appointed judges are removed from the Constitutional Tribunal - wrote Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska on Twitter, referring to President Duda's acceptance of oaths from new Constitutional Tribunal judges.

19:39

Schetyna:

Primaries Aren't Rigged, They're Genuine Competition
There have to be [emotions] because the primaries aren't rigged, they are a genuine rivalry, a competition for nomination from the Civic Platform, and later, as I believe, from the Civic Coalition. I think this is the real date. We are a week before the decision, and the candidates are traveling, meeting with delegates, with electors. It's all so real – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events). I have to be the arbiter here. I am the leader of the Civic Platform, and I am rooting for Marshal Kidawa-Błońska, for President Jaśkowiak, for a good conversation and debate. Both have great experience. I have had the honor of knowing Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska for over 20 years, and on September 6th myself, I handed her the scepter or the steering wheel for leading our political election campaign – continued the PO chairman.

19:44

Schetyna:

Szubartowicz to Moderate Saturday's Debate

- This first round [of the presidential elections] will be treated as a kind of primary election among the opposition – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

- [Saturday's debate between Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska and Jacek Jaśkowiak] will be moderated by editor Szubartowicz. The emphasis will also be on high interaction, with the journalist, not the politician, posing questions, facilitating interactions, and incorporating questions from internet users. It will be a lively conversation – added the PO chairman.

19:49

Schetyna:

We Will Always Be a Broad Center Party

- We will always be a party that will be a broad center party, a conservative-liberal party - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

19:50

Wójcik on New Constitutional Tribunal Judges: Remember That This is a Court of a Political Nature and Politicians Were There Under Our Predecessors

- Everything concerning these three individuals was in accordance with the procedures stipulated by Polish law. And I am very pleased because they respect Mrs. Pawłowicz, Mr. Piotrowicz, as well as Professor Stelina. They are substantive people. The fact that they are politicians, as this accusation might arise soon, please remember that this is a court of a political nature and politicians were present during the times of our predecessors, and in many countries, politicians enter the tribunal - stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program „Wydarzenia i Opinie” on Polsat News.

19:55

Kamiński:

Thank God President Duda Doesn't Use the Language of the Constitutional Tribunal Judge Sworn in Today

- Thank God President Duda does not use the language that the Constitutional Tribunal judge sworn in by him today uses. Because we know very well that it is language and behavior that is far from parliamentary - said Michał Kamiński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program 'Wydarzenia i Opinie' on Polsat News.

19:56

Schetyna:

If the government doesn't take the initiative, the Senate is ready to take legislative initiative on changes to the KRS Act

- I prefer to talk about specific bills, about changing the Act on the National Council of the Judiciary. This should be the opposition's initiative today, and we are talking with Speaker Grodzki in the Senate - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

- We are saying this very clearly: if there is no initiative from the government, then the Senate, I spoke with Speaker Grodzki today, is ready to take legislative initiative for changes to the Act on the National Council of the Judiciary - continued the Civic Platform leader.

20:03

Opposition Cannot Stand Idly By: Schetyna Suggests No-Confidence Vote for Kamiński
Banaś was previously head of the tax administration, then minister of finance, and now head of NIK. Who wants to remove him? Those who brought him in, meaning President Kaczyński with Prime Minister Morawiecki and the Minister of Interior? If they brought him in, we want to know: why, when they brought him in, did they not have the knowledge they have today, and what knowledge is it? They must tell us about this, and if they don't, we will demand it in the Sejm. Prime Minister Morawiecki must realize that the consequence of such actions will be a motion to dismiss the Minister of Interior and Coordinator of Special Services. The opposition cannot stand idly by in this matter. We will submit such a motion – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

20:24

WKK on new Constitutional Tribunal judges: Duda and his political camp, who speak of decommunization with such steadfastness, did not want to boast today. It's good that it's December and it gets dark much earlier.

- This is a sad day. A sad day for those who stand for a democratic state of law. But President Duda and his political camp, who speak with such joy and steadfastness about decommunization, did not want to boast today. It's good that it's December and it gets dark much earlier, so under the cover of night, in the afternoon, the President could accept these nominations without the flash of cameras - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

20:29

WKK:

I think Poles would chip in for Piotrowicz's salary just so he wouldn't sit on the Constitutional Tribunal

- For the good of the country, I think Poles would contribute to Mr. Piotrowicz's salary and would do so eagerly, as long as he didn't sit on the Constitutional Tribunal. We would give him some place, just so he wouldn't fulfill a role for which, in my opinion, he is completely unprepared - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" TVN24.

Today I would propose what the president should actually propose. A meeting of former Supreme Court Presidents, Constitutional Tribunal Presidents, and ombudsmen. A solution to the KRS and Disciplinary Chamber issue must be proposed.

- Today I would propose something that the president should actually propose. A meeting of former Supreme Court Presidents, a meeting of former Constitutional Tribunal Presidents, and ombudsmen, to find a way out of this situation. A solution regarding the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) and the Disciplinary Chamber must be proposed as soon as possible - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.
