"Each of us has the right to access lists of support for judges applying to the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS). Each of us has the constitutional right to public information. The Supreme Administrative Court has already ruled that lists of support are public information. We have a legally binding, final judgment that orders the disclosure of these lists. Judge Juszczyszyn's actions align with both the NSA's ruling and the Court of Justice of the European Union's (CJEU) ruling," said Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz of Civic Coalition at a press conference.

"I perceive the withdrawal of the delegation as revenge by PiS politicians for a request that does not align with the expectations of the current authorities. I perceive the initiation of proceedings against Judge Juszczyszyn as proceedings bearing the hallmarks of persecution of an independent judge. I perceive this as another attempt to break judicial independence," she added.

"I have reviewed the CBA report concerning Mr. Marian Banaś. I have reached the conclusion that the findings of this report should lead Mr. Marian Banaś to submit his resignation. I believe the President of NIK will resign today. Should that not happen, we also have, one could say, a plan B in this matter" - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

“All actions that lead to undermining the judiciary, judicial independence, or non-recognition of certain judges can lead to legal chaos. We will definitely not allow such chaos. If there were a situation where judges appointed during the PO era did not recognize judges appointed during the PiS government or vice versa, it could lead to anarchy in the justice system and disorder in the state. We will certainly do everything to prevent such a situation” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Civic Platform, Civic Coalition demands the resignation of special services coordinator Mariusz Kamiński from Prime Minister Morawiecki. We know that the Prime Minister will not make this decision himself, so we appeal to President Kaczyński to give Morawiecki the green light, because this resignation is necessary. “We are able to declare that we will not allow another candidate to come from the Banas republic. This cannot be another PiS nominee. It is likely [we will present our candidate]” – he added.

We are in Gdańsk, standing in a symbolic place. Here, everyone knows what the words freedom and solidarity mean, how important the words thrown at other people are, because Gdańsk remembers President Adamowicz. This is a unique place, and our country is currently in a unique situation. For several days now, we have been hearing words and things about Mr. Banaś. The state has capitulated; a person accused of many things holds important positions in our country, while on the other hand, judges who stand guard over their oath, our law, are treated as suspicious individuals. The roles have been reversed. People with bad qualities are becoming heroes, and people who respect the law are becoming villains. All of this is happening because we do not have a guardian of the Constitution in Poland. If the president were the guardian of the Constitution, if he cared to ensure that values and law were respected in our country, we would not be at such a difficult juncture. In reality, the state is collapsing, and only a change in our approach to law, the Constitution, and values, a change in the most important offices in our state, will allow us to renew Poland and rid ourselves of individuals who hold these positions unworthily. We hear PiS desperately saying: "Let Mr. Banaś resign." Then why did they appoint this person to this function in the first place? They must have seen that proceedings were being conducted against him. Since they knew and for several weeks defended him, even two days ago at a committee they defended him, saying he had provided explanations. If they defend such people, it means there may be more such individuals in our state. Poland needs renewal, opposition is necessary, and it is essential that Poland has a guardian of the Constitution, a guardian of our values - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a briefing in Gdańsk.

Grzegorz Schetyna, the leader of the Civic Platform (PO), stated on Saturday that there would be no constitutional changes. He added that Marian Banaś, the head of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK), is a symbol of the Law and Justice (PiS) party's honesty. The politician's statement was published on the official Twitter account of the Civic Platform.

Schetyna also commented on the current political situation in Poland, saying that "the government is losing credibility." He accused the ruling party of corruption and nepotism, and called for early elections.

This morning, the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) has filed a notification with the prosecutor's office regarding the possibility of a criminal offense committed by Mr. Marian Banaś, President of the Supreme Audit Office. The notification is a result of an audit of Marian Banaś's asset declarations conducted by the Bureau. The audit report has been attached to the notification – informed the Social Communication Department of the CBA.

"On November 28, 2019, the CBA concluded the procedure for auditing Marian Banaś's asset declarations, submitted by him in the years 2015-2019. The audit revealed irregularities which – in the CBA's assessment – justify referring the case to the prosecutor's office. During the post-audit activities described in Article 45 of the Act on the Central Anticorruption Bureau, the audited individual, Marian Banaś, submitted objections to the CBA's findings on October 23, 2019. These objections were rejected in their entirety by the Bureau, and the audited individual was informed of this on November 28, 2019. In connection with the audit findings, on November 29, 2019, the CBA filed a notification with the prosecutor's office regarding the possibility of a criminal offense committed by Marian Banaś. In the notification, the CBA indicates suspicion of Marian Banaś submitting false asset declarations, concealing his actual asset status, and having undocumented sources of income."
