As we wrote on 300POLITYKA, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is beginning her primary election campaign in Civic Platform with a tour across Poland. 300POLITYKA has seen the plan for the first days of her campaign.

The Deputy Marshal of the Sejm plans to visit all 16 voivodeships, starting with Warmian-Masurian. At 2:20 PM, a press conference will be held in Olsztyn, at 2:50 PM – a meeting with listeners from the University of the Third Age, and at 5:00 PM – a meeting with delegates and members of Civic Platform.

- There is never sweet certainty of victory, because elections are always a fight, a game, but I am convinced that my position is strong. I wasn't meant to be [an uncontested candidate]. Primaries are a chance to revitalize our formation, and I see that it is happening. After the elections, after this fight, several very good things happened. First, that my colleagues in these elections, like never before, candidates regardless of their position on the list, even in the further places, achieved excellent results. Some even doubled their results from the previous term in a difficult situation. This showed energy and a willingness to fight. This is very good, and the primaries will allow us, all structures to meet, and this is also good preparation for the party elections, which will take place in January – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

It's about me saying it. After all, since I stood for the primaries, and it lasted several weeks, I was waiting for someone to stand with me in these primaries. That's the moment of waiting. I was only surprised that after the deadline, no one knew who the candidate was and some envelope appeared - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- I don't know who Grzegorz Schetyna's dream candidate is. I'm not sure and I don't know, but I do know who my colleagues want, and I hope that will be confirmed on December 14. It won't be Schetyna anointing someone. He will only have one vote, like everyone else in Civic Platform. It seems to me that President Jaśkowiak is closer to Grzegorz Schetyna, but I repeat, everyone in Civic Platform has one vote. Each of the candidates has one vote, and one needs to gain the trust of over 800 people - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- We have statutes. The statutes very precisely state when the elections [for the leader] are to be held. They must take place in January. The elections should be held in January, and this is what we discussed at the party's board meeting. They will take place. Postponing the elections would be very detrimental to our formation because we should already know, with the presidential elections approaching, that the entire campaign will take place after the party elections, allowing us to work, rather than focusing on internal party elections - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- The recent campaign showed that we were able to mobilize, but Civic Platform needs renewal, a different way of operating, a review of what we did well in recent years, and what we did wrong. The world is changing around us, we are changing, and we must find new solutions, a new way of operating – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- There will be an election campaign, and individual candidates, and I suspect there will be several, will have to present a new plan for our party in the changed situation for the next 4 years, and then decisions will be made – added the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.

- I don't even know if it's the State Tribunal or even criminal cases, because what happened yesterday in the Sejm was one big scandal. A mockery of the Sejm, of the citizens. „There are no contentious points [in the coalition agreement]. It’s a matter of logistics. It is prepared for signing. My information suggests it will be signed this week” – said Krzysztof Sobolewski, MP and Head of the Executive Committee of PiS, on Radio Jedynka.

“At this moment, I might have a problem [stating that it is good that Marian Banaś is at the head of NIK]. [The report] is on the Prime Minister’s desk. I do not know a single sentence from this report. The Prime Minister will certainly review the report, and I hope he will present its findings to us. We will base our further actions on that,” said Krzysztof Sobolewski, a Member of Parliament and head of the PiS Executive Committee, in an interview with Radio Jedynka.

- Yes, one could say, January. I hope for the beginning of the year for sure. Both ministries [climate from environment], both departments, need to be divided so that both offices can operate at full capacity. This task has been assigned to me, so I am trying to fulfill it to the best of my ability. - The President of NIK should definitely explain all ambiguities to the public more broadly. It is the [Senate] committee's decision, in fact, that invited the President. The President can go, or he can send a deputy. The question is what the opposition wants to do, because if the opposition wants to clarify certain things substantively, then absolutely, whereas the last 4 years have accustomed us to the fact that every topic is politicized - stated Michał Woś in an interview with Dorota Łosiewicz on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour". - This is beyond doubt. The President of NIK should be completely transparent. There should be no doubts concerning him, and in this case, we are not dealing with prosecutorial charges - added the minister.

The Prime Minister has entrusted Marcin Horała with the duties of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port (CPK).

This appointment signifies a crucial step in the development and implementation of the ambitious CPK project, which aims to create a major transportation hub in Poland. Marcin Horała, known for his involvement in infrastructure and strategic development initiatives, will now oversee the coordination and execution of this complex undertaking.

The CPK project is envisioned to include a new international airport, high-speed rail connections, and other related infrastructure, with the goal of enhancing Poland's connectivity and competitiveness on the global stage.

- I belong to that part of the United Right, i.e., to Solidarna Polska, where we weren't aware of this. Well, we knew that there are certain parity quotas, because usually the opposition is allocated about 40% of committee chairmanships. "The expectation, the need for the Senate to come forward with an initiative regarding the amendment of the Act on the National Council of the Judiciary is highly probable. - Before traveling, as I am usually in a so-called time crunch, I tend to arrive everywhere at the last minute rather than relax anywhere. I haven't experienced [staying in hourly hotels] either. Of course, 'hotel na godziny' (hourly hotel) has clear connotations, although yesterday [at a parliamentary committee] it was stated that this is supposedly a popular way of running a hotel business in Krakow. Of course, one can say that these 'hats' might be unevenly distributed, but on the other hand, it's an international event where it was evidently deemed that the Prime Minister's presence was also needed as part of promoting Poland. So it's hard to draw distinctions here about what's more important. - "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." The previous NIK president faced prosecution and an indictment for half of his term; now he is a senator supporting the opposition majority in the Senate. Senator Gawłowski, a former member of the Platforma's board, has charges against him. Even the Marshal of the Senate himself is increasingly facing doubts regarding his contributions to a hospital foundation. So, what I mean is that the opposition should perhaps first look in the mirror before solely focusing on President Banasi. And I repeat: we naturally want these standards to be higher, and primarily, the difference in these standards lies in the fact that we do not operate on the assumption that if someone is one of ours, we will defend them. We do not say, as MP Neumann did, that as long as you are in Platforma, he will defend you "like national independence." - As a party, we are ready at any moment to launch campaign operations, but obviously, the President, who has not yet officially announced that he will be running for re-election, sets the tone and rhythm here. Of course, he will have a decisive influence on the formula and shape of the campaign team's operations, because it will be his campaign. It is no secret that we are in constant contact with the President's officials, so that when the signal "go" is given, we can launch all activities - stated Radosław Fogiel in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- At this session, we did what was expected of us in the Sejm. Now the Senate will consider these legislative projects. We'll see how they treat them. And as far as I know, the plans are indeed for a Sejm session to be held before the holidays, because that's how it falls within the legislative work calendar, but of course, the Marshal can convene a session earlier at any time if the need arises - stated Radosław Fogiel in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

"The [government] spokesperson will provide information on this matter [the Supreme Audit Office] in two hours," announced the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, Minister Michał Dworczyk, in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

I have a feeling, but also a feeling supported by data, that we are slowly emerging from the middle-income trap. That we are on the right path to escaping this trap – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the X Congress of Polish Economists. As the head of the Polish government pointed out, this is a long-term process. - We cannot rest on our laurels; we must ensure that we have certainty, not just conviction or assumption, that we are escaping these traps – PMM added.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has been briefed on the report compiled by the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) concerning the President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK). In accordance with legal regulations, the conclusions drawn from this report will be subject to further analysis.

The upcoming Senate session is scheduled for December 17-18. During this time, the upper house will consider, among other matters, amendments to the Act on the Solidarity Fund for the Support of Disabled Persons (effectively concerning the financing of the 13th pension) and a bill proposing an increase in excise taxes on luxury goods. Senate committees will review these proposals as early as next week. The Senate's agenda also includes the election of senators to the National Council of the Judiciary.

The Sejm session will likely take place shortly thereafter, within the same week, around December 18-20. Radosław Fogiel mentioned a pre-holiday session today on Radio Plus. The deputies will need to, among other things, vote on probable amendments to the aforementioned laws. It's possible they will also address the state budget for 2020, should it be submitted to the Sejm.

A government bill proposing the renewed suspension of the retail sales tax until mid-2020 has also been submitted to the Sejm. The act is intended to come into effect on January 1, 2020 – it is unclear whether parliament will manage to conclude its work. If the Senate utilizes its 30-day deadline, there will be no chance, unless the Sejm convenes earlier.

We will have the opportunity to discuss how we envision the campaign and what our vision for Poland is. – Contrary to media reports, the vote [on the National Council of the Judiciary] was interrupted and these results do not exist. I spoke in a different context [saying that this is not allowed]. I spoke in the context of resumption. I do not rule out that we will prepare such legislation ourselves [an amendment to the NIK act that would enable the Sejm to remove the president]. I would like all state bodies to function as they should" - said Agnieszka Pomaska in a conversation with Roch Kowalski in the "Political Interview" on TOK FM.

"The problem appeared much earlier than Mr. Banaś. The problem appeared because PiS parliamentarians, I hope no one is offended, but there are plenty of guys who raise their hands and say they are not happy. And that's the problem within the ruling party. Today, PiS is bearing the consequences. They didn't even get hit by a ricochet. It's like they threw a boomerang and it hit them in the forehead," said Agnieszka Pomaska from Civic Coalition in an interview with Roch Kowalski on "Political Interview" on TOK FM.

"Everyone had the right to stand in these [Civic Platform primary] elections. Jacek Jaśkowiak is a good mayor of Poznań. My candidate is Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. I support her.
