Poland's justice system must be reformed so that people stop saying that courts in Poland are unfair and dishonest, which is unfortunately what they say. All the time. This must change because the justice system is one of the three branches of government. We have the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, meaning three fundamental elements of power, three pillars of government in every state. If society widely says that one of these three pillars is shaky, that it is unfair and dishonest, it means it absolutely requires a thorough, fundamental reform. And this reform must be carried out. It, ladies and gentlemen, has been and is being carried out, although you know very well that many do not like it. Especially those who are losing their privileges and influence, especially those who, among the judicial community, were the masters of life and death for others, who decided on career opportunities. There are still many judges among these people who received their first judicial credentials from the communist authorities. They liked it then. We must end the so-called co-optation in courts and in the justice system, so that judges exclusively appoint themselves to positions, because this is precisely what leads to the creation of the so-called privileged, elite caste, where there are those chosen who decide on the professional life and death of others - President Andrzej Duda said during a meeting with residents of the Gryfice district. - They are the ones. Especially those who have sat on the Supreme Court in recent decades, they are primarily responsible for the fact that disciplinary jurisdiction within the Polish justice system was de facto a fiction. How are people supposed to abide by the law if judges don't? The fish rots from the head. These are the facts, and this is the truth. Everyone knows it. Therefore, I have no doubt that if there's anyone from whom we must first demand honesty, integrity, and the rule of law, it is precisely those who participate in the administration of justice. This is their basic and fundamental duty. If they cannot fulfill this duty, they should simply leave. That's the truth. This is how Poland should be changed. From this place, I promise you once again that this Poland will continue to be changed in this way, and that I too will participate in this change as long as I am able – said President Andrzej Duda during a meeting with residents of the Gryfice district.
