President Andrzej Duda will be visiting the Świętokrzyskie and Małopolska voivodeships. At 4:30 PM, he will meet with residents of Kazimierza Wielka, and at 6:30 PM, with residents of Proszowice.

As we reported on 300POLITYKA, the designation of Mateusz Morawiecki as the new Prime Minister is expected to take place today around 11:00 AM, followed by the swearing-in of the new United Right government tomorrow. Subsequently, the head of government will deliver his exposé. Our sources emphasize that the date for the Sejm address has already been set for Tuesday at 10:00 AM.

- We have no intention of striking anyone. I understand you are talking about the abolition of the 30-fold cap. We are not talking about any blow, only about the elimination of a certain strange construction, in which those who earn better pay de facto lower taxes or burdens to the state than those earning less. The regulations that are in force today de facto mean this - stated Jacek Sasin in a conversation with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- We want to pass this MP's bill, because it needs to be clearly emphasized, this is not a government project, but an PiS MP's bill. We want to pass it together with our United Right coalition partners and we will discuss it, also convincing our Porozumienie coalition partners, Deputy Prime Minister Gowin, that it is worth supporting this solution, because in the end it will be a good solution - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

– This is a parliamentary bill. It will be presented at the Sejm session. It will come to a vote. We will see which MPs support it. We will convince the entire chamber to support this solution. Not only our coalition partners, but also the opposition. I will remind you that in the previous term of the Sejm, many projects, including government ones, were supported by opposition clubs. There were really very few projects where there was some sharp opposition from a large group of MPs. I hope it will be the same this time – stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden". 

The Prime Minister has not yet presented the entire government. He will present it at the moment he is designated as Prime Minister. There was a press conference with the Prime Minister at the end of last week, but many things remained unsaid because many issues were discussed, such as the name of the ministry I am to head. The Prime Minister said that the name will be adjusted, but also the scope of activities will still be discussed, and these discussions are ongoing. Today, most likely, as we know, the Prime Minister will receive the mission from the President to form a new government, and I think that at a quick pace, as these talks have been going on for a month, he will present the composition of the new government to the President for approval. I think it is very probable [that it will be tomorrow]. As far as I know, these are the plans [for the exposition to be on Tuesday], but – as I say – it's hard for me to say 100% at the moment – stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

„I think it's a political stunt. It's intended to serve as a pretext for President Duda to intervene later. There will be a debate, and it will end as it's meant to. This is part of – that's how I see it – the presidential election campaign, and on the other hand, it reflects the lack of integrity in PiS's parliamentary election campaign. The fact that they are changing their minds and starting to talk about a financial crisis, about a slowdown, shows how they conducted their campaign, by lying and misleading Poles” – said PO leader Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Joanna Komolka on Radio Zet.

"It is a decision of the Senate, of a Senate committee. We will not make it [the decision to summon Marian Banas before a Senate committee] in party headquarters. This is how the Civic Coalition differs from PiS: Marshal Grodzki, the Senate Presidium, and committee chairs will decide on these matters. - I deny that [the coalition partner] is unaware of the plan to abolish the 30x limit. This bill, which was sent to parliament by PiS MPs, is a consequence of documents previously adopted by the government, including by ministers and the Deputy Prime Minister from the Porozumienie party within this government. That is, first the Convergence Plan Update, which explicitly stipulated the abolition of the 30x limit, and then the budget bill, which accounted for the revenues. Previously, these documents raised no doubts. They were adopted by the government unanimously - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

“Here, there was a dictation from PiS towards the opposition parties [regarding the division of parliamentary committees]. It’s always like this at the beginning of a term, that all parties talk, try to build parity. The largest [committees], the most prestigious ones, were immediately taken by PiS. This is – I have no illusions about it – retaliation, revenge for what happened in the Senate. They are so hurt by this Senate, and by Marshal Grodzki, and the Senate presidium, that they had to react. This is a shame for good, parliamentary work,” said Civic Platform (PO) leader Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Joanna Komolka on Radio Zet.

„[The Senate agreement] strengthened the Civic Platform, the Civic Coalition. It also strengthened me, because the idea and concept, which I've been talking about for 4 years, that a broader agreement beyond just party lines needs to be built, is yielding results, and we saw those results in the Senate the day before yesterday” - said PO (Civic Platform) leader Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Joanna Komolka on Radio Zet.

- My opinion, if you ask me as a doctor, not a diplomat, as you are calling me here, is that abortion is something we should not allow, because it is a tragedy for the mother, for the family, for the unborn child, and we should do everything, including genetic testing, sex education, many other issues, so that abortions, if this tragedy is to occur, happen as rarely as possible. But this issue cannot be simplified, because these are inherent relations between the unborn child, the woman, or the fetus - stated Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

- As of today, I would vote to uphold the current compromise - emphasized the Marshal of the Senate.

- Of course, this will be one of the elements that Grzegorz Schetyna will definitely use to present himself and his candidacy in the elections for the leader of the Civic Platform. It's the first success in four years, apart from rebuilding the party and its presence on the political scene after the defeat in 2015. The opposition camp has a critical view of the functioning of democratic institutions, of the politicization of the judiciary, and its politization. There are certain problems we view critically. „Hold onto your pockets and wallets, because PiS is starting to fulfill its election promises. The first target is about 400,000 employees on employment contracts, well-educated, innovative people who have the chance to make the Polish economy truly competitive, innovative, and to reduce the gap between Poland and Western Europe. – The commencement of the process of selecting another 3 judges at this moment, without swearing in those legally elected, constitutes an incitement to further violation of the Constitution. Today, anyone who participates in this procedure will be perpetuating a state that is inconsistent with the Constitution and with the ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal. – The Civic Coalition will not nominate candidates to the Constitutional Tribunal because three positions there have long been filled, and nominating further candidates would solely perpetuate the state of inconsistency with the Constitution – emphasized the head of the PO-KO club.

I am immensely grateful that in the latter elections, 62% of our compatriots went to the polls and cast their votes. Thank you for taking Polish affairs into your own hands. Power elected by a significant portion of voters, by the majority of society, has strong legitimacy. In Poland, authorities, thanks to your determination and responsibility, have increasing legitimacy. This is very significant because we strongly desire Poland to become an ever-better country, meaning a state that is more just, where people live better, more prosperously. Where there is work, as little unemployment as possible, and decent pay. I know that these words sound particularly poignant in this region of our country. Because this is the region where wages have not been very high until now. Quite the contrary. They belonged to the lower end. I don't want to say among the lowest in our country, but the incomes of the state, the district, the municipalities here are not high incomes. If they genuinely pose a danger, I will simply stop them, as long as I am president, because that is the role of the president. To stop everything that is harmful to people and against which people, ordinary people, genuinely protest. Not some elites who are swimming in money and privileges. Only ordinary people. - I believe that Confederation holds views that are unacceptable, simply unacceptable. If they talk about better cooperation with Russia, if they talk about leaving the European Union, if they talk about truly absurd things that contradict European law, then there is no room to adopt their views. - Showing their voters [PSL] that they are a kind of guarantor for things that only we can implement. If someone today talks about tax-free pensions, they should know that during their eight years in power, they indexed pensions by 5 PLN. In this term, the nation, in its collective wisdom, has decided that the ruling camp will have a majority in the Sejm, and the opposition in the Senate, or rather, a democratically elected majority composed of Senators from Civic Coalition, PSL, the Left, and independent senators. This to some extent restores balance in political struggles, but at the same time places a tremendous responsibility for words, actions, and decisions on both sides. We must not waste this mandate received from millions of voters. In the Sejm, but also in the Senate, representing the majesty of the Republic and the power of our nation, it is clearly visible that the strength of our society lies in diversity, which brings with it the creativity and energy of Polish women and men, which can never be suppressed by attempts to force us all into the framework of one, rigid, sometimes bizarre ideology. The communists learned this, and all those who undertake such attempts will learn it too; they are doomed to failure in the shorter or longer term. In our odyssey through life in search of happiness and fulfillment of dreams, some find it easier, others harder, some are cast to the margins by this journey, and still others must sometimes carry a very heavy cross. And here begins the role of politicians' humble, service-oriented, and prudent work. For those of you who are brimming with strength and energy, we must create conditions for the implementation of bold projects and the utilization of their creativity for the common good. Those whom life has tested more than others should be supported to make them believe again that dreams can come true. The sick must be provided with efficient and accessible healthcare, the poor with protection against destitution, children with good education, and those with artistic talents with the opportunity to create and show their extraordinary works to the world. Examples can be multiplied, but I provide them to show how I understand the creation of good law that will make the lives of Polish women and men easier and simpler. Good law should make our lives easier and better - this is the main task for those who create it. The Senate is particularly predisposed to this, according to the maxim that it is the constitutional body that incites other authorities to noble deeds, deters them from ignoble ones, and cools emotions. I assure you that I will do everything in my power, by utilizing the enormous potential of the senators, elected by tens and hundreds of thousands of voters, to make the Senate a place that will be a forge of the best law, where respect, decency, the rule of law, honor, truth, and normal substantive work will reign, and where hypocrisy, cynicism, deception, lies, and the bending of the Constitution or the Senate's regulations will not be allowed entrance. The Senate will carry out its assigned duties in such a way as to convince you that it is possible to conduct political dispute in a decent, normal manner, without mutual animosity or hatred, with the sole aim of serving the nation. We will pass laws from the Sejm, and if we deem them good, we will enact them. If they require amendments, we will amend them and send them back to the Sejm. I will also expect the Senate to create its own laws, which, after enactment according to good legislative practices, we will send to the Sejm as Senate initiatives. Anyone who fears that the Senate will be a tool for blocking the Sejm is completely mistaken. I come from Szczecin, a city never conquered, which for the longest time in its history was the capital of the powerful Duchy of Pomerania, and after the war was settled by brave, creative people from all over Poland.
