- The government structure will be slightly changed. It will be streamlined. There will be a Ministry of the Treasury. I am not authorized to talk about the details. The Prime Minister will inform about these changes. Yes, we can say [that Jacek Sasin will head the Ministry of the Treasury]. These are not revolutionary changes, but minor changes that will streamline things - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

„I've stopped swearing. Sometimes a word still slips out, but very rarely” - Sławomir Neumann from Civic Platform said in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on Radio TOK FM's "Poranek" (Morning Show).

„If there are elections [for the head of PO's Pomeranian structures], there will probably be different candidates” - he added, when asked about Agnieszka Pomaska's declaration that she could run for the leadership of the Pomeranian Civic Platform.

The trams in Warsaw won't stop because Civic Platform will be choosing a leader” - said Sławomir Neumann from Civic Platform in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on Radio TOK FM's Morning program.

“

I understand that many people in Poland would gladly choose for Civic Platform both the party leader and the presidential candidate, and would even know how to do it. Allow me to say, however, that we will decide. Many people like to stamp their feet and fidget, saying 'now, now, now', but the election campaign will realistically begin in January. The elections will probably be announced then. Today, we have a decision to make about how to choose the best candidate” - he added.

„I have been convincing my colleagues for a long time because I believe that the mandate of a person elected in primaries is significantly stronger as a candidate than a mandate granted by a statutory body – be it 100-person or 30-person. Conditions will be set. These will be primaries within the Civic Coalition. There will be application conditions, requiring the support of a certain number of party members, or functionaries” – said Sławomir Neumann of Civic Platform in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on Radio TOK FM's Morning program.

- The game is about encouraging everyone who cares about Poland's well-being to join the white-red team. Thanks to this, they can implement their program assumptions, with which they ran in the elections, for example. Being in opposition, it's difficult to fulfill any of your election promises. It's rather impossible. We experienced this during 8 years of opposition, and perhaps some senators will have a reflection. Indeed, there's nothing to wait for, and they promised something to the voters, so by being in the ruling camp, they have a chance to implement it and account for it after 4 years - stated Krzysztof Sobolewski in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

„The campaign showed that people don't want anything imposed from above; they want to have a say in it. That's the strength of democratic movements, which is why I really like the idea of primaries. And I don't like the idea of them being scrapped just because a prince on a white horse arrived. I much prefer: either we have primaries and all honest candidates, male and female, run in them, or after long internal discussions, we choose a person we know is our best bet. But I wouldn't want to be in a situation where we're waiting again for what Donald Tusk will say. We've been waiting for that for so many years” - said Barbara Nowacka from Inicjatywa Polska in an interview with Łukasz Konarski on Radio Zet.

"Presenting candidates now, forcefully, because there is pressure, will also achieve little. This is because the campaign needs to be very well prepared, and we need to mobilize very well around issues and matters. Because what is obvious to the opposition today is that we must do everything to win the presidential election," Barbara Nowacka from Inicjatywa Polska said in an interview with Łukasz Konarski on Radio Zet.

- I keep emphasizing that we are standing firmly behind Schetyna. So we wish him to remain the leader of the Civic Platform. However, I don't suspect that Donald Tusk will want to return from those Brussels salons to the so-called 'lair' here, on Wiejska Street, and take Grzegorz Schetyna's place. I'm not that naive. On the other hand, whether he will run for the highest office in Poland, the presidency, I dare say there is something to it, that he is probably heading in that direction – stated Krzysztof Sobolewski in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- Certainly, a more important matter at the moment is to establish the candidate for President of the Republic of Poland for the Civic Platform, Civic Coalition. Because November is approaching, then December, and from January, the presidential campaign will essentially begin. So I think this is important. On the other hand, because the statute also requires elections for the head of PO, this should certainly not be postponed. It must also be carried out, in accordance with the statute, by the end of January - said Bogusław Sonik on Radio Kraków.

When asked about the best presidential candidacy, the PO politician replied: - It seems that for today, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is such a figure who can bring a certain new energy and a new image of the opposition to this presidential campaign. It would be good if she remained. Donald Tusk, it seems to me, is not inclined to run in these elections at this moment. Certainly, if he decides, he will be an important heavyweight player in the presidential elections. But one must also remember that such politically very distinct figures, with a past behind them, like former prime ministers or the current president, mutually mobilize their electorates and also discourage and stimulate their electorates through dislike of their rivals. So this is not an asset.

November in Polish politics is marked primarily by the first session of the new parliament, the election of Speakers, and the designation of a new Prime Minister. Early in the month, the Polish People's Party (PSL) will discuss their presidential candidate, while Civic Platform-Civic Coalition (PO-KO) will elect a new parliamentary club leader, potentially Borys Budka. Donald Tusk is expected to be elected as the head of the European People's Party (EPP), and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) will issue a ruling on the independence of the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court in Poland.

PSL Supreme Council. A meeting of the PSL Supreme Council will take place on November 3rd, during which the party's presidential candidate may be nominated, as discussed by Marek Sawicki on Radio Plus. "We know there won't be [presidential] primaries. We have a clear response from both the left and Civic Coalition, so that idea has already fallen. That's why I'm strongly urging my colleagues that at the upcoming formal Supreme Council on November 3rd in Wierzchosławice, which will summarize these elections, the Supreme Council simultaneously decide on appointing a presidential election campaign staff and designating President Kosiniak-Kamysz as the PSL's candidate for the office of president," stated the PSL politician.

CJEU Ruling on Polish Judges' Retirement Age. On November 5th, the Court of Justice of the EU will deliver a judgment on the rules for Polish judges transitioning to retirement. This concerns the act on the organization of common courts from July 2017, which lowered the retirement age for judges of common courts, Supreme Court judges, and prosecutors to 60 for women and 65 for men. Although the regulations have since been amended, the European Commission decided to uphold its charges.

SLD National Council. "Regarding the matter of [the potential formation of a common party on the left], we unanimously decided to convene the National Council on November 9th with the participation of all our MPs, and on December 7th, a convention where all decisions will be made to enable the Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland (SLD) to co-create a potential party operating on the left," stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference. Furthermore, a working session of the Left parliamentary club will take place on November 6th to elect its leadership.

President Duda in Berlin. On November 9th, President Andrzej Duda will visit the Federal Republic of Germany to participate in ceremonies commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall. The exact itinerary of the visit is not yet known.

Independence March and November 11th Celebrations. The Independence March will once again traverse the streets of Warsaw, this year under the slogan "Have the whole nation in your care!". The march will begin at Dmowskiego Roundabout, proceed along Jerusalem Avenue, and conclude on the fields near the National Stadium. Additionally, Independence Day celebrations will be held throughout Poland, though the program involving key state officials has not yet been published.

Civic Platform Board and PO-KO Club Leader Election. Just before the first parliamentary session – with even November 11th appearing as a potential date in the media – the PO-KO parliamentary club will hold a session to elect its chairman. So far, Borys Budka is the sole candidate for this position, having already gathered around 80 signatures. It is currently unknown if the Civic Platform politician will have any competitors. Furthermore, on November 8th, another meeting of the Civic Platform board is scheduled, where a decision on potential presidential primaries is expected.

First Sessions of the New Sejm and Senate. The first sessions of both chambers of the new parliamentary term will take place on November 12th. The deputies will primarily elect the new Marshal and Deputy Marshals of the Sejm, while senators will elect the Marshal and Deputy Marshals of the Senate. Additionally, parliamentarians will take their oaths during their first sessions. During the first Sejm session, the Prime Minister will also tender the resignation of the Council of Ministers. Traditionally, the President may deliver an address.

Designation of a New Prime Minister. According to the Constitution, the President designates a Prime Minister who proposes the composition of the government. The President appoints the Prime Minister along with other members of the government within 14 days of the first Sejm session or the acceptance of the previous government's resignation, and receives oaths from the members of the newly appointed Council of Ministers. Subsequently, within 14 days of their appointment by the President, the Prime Minister presents the government's program to the Sejm with a motion of confidence.

CJEU Ruling on the Independence of the Supreme Court's Disciplinary Chamber. On November 19th, the Court of Justice of the EU will issue a ruling on the independence of the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court in Poland. In June, the CJEU's Advocate General issued an opinion stating that the newly established Disciplinary Chamber of the Polish Supreme Court does not meet the requirements of judicial independence established by European Union law.

Tusk's Election as EPP Head. On November 20th, a summit of the European People's Party will be held in Zagreb, where over 700 delegates from approximately 50 national parties will elect a new leader. According to unofficial information, Donald Tusk – nominated by Civic Platform – will be the sole candidate for this position. The term of the former Polish Prime Minister, currently serving as President of the European Council, concludes precisely on November 30th.

"[Marian Banaś] He is a problem, of course. It's a rhetorical question. It's just very difficult to correct, because he would have to resign himself or do something himself that would resolve this issue. There are several such 'magical ways' [for Banaś to resign or be dismissed]. I am counting on one of them, but I will not be able to speak about the details," said Deputy Chairman of PiS and Minister Adam Lipiński in an interview with Dariusz Wieczorkowski on Radio Wrocław.

"I assess that the election results should be interpreted in such a way that PiS is ruling, but it does not have the support of the majority of society. This means that the conviction will grow within PiS that they have found themselves on a slippery slope, leading to future defeat. Along the way, there will be presidential elections. I think the election results can also be read as an opportunity for the presidency to also fall into the hands of the opposition," said former President Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

"If a joint candidate [of the opposition] could be launched and presented, I would say: 'The sooner, the better'. Probably political parties - both the Left, the PSL, and Civic Coalition - will want to put forward their own candidates," said former president Bronisław Komorowski in a conversation with Karolina Lewicka in 'Political Interview' on TOK FM.

"I would strongly urge the democratic opposition parties, if they must put forward their own, separate candidates, to ensure that these candidates and their political backings nevertheless send signals that unity, agreement on this most important matter, i.e., the final outcome of the presidential elections, is within reach or has already been achieved," he added.

„The plus of primaries is that they stimulate the party backing to activity, but at the same time, they cause some movements within this backing, some internal boundaries are built, dislikes, rivalries” – said former president Bronisław Komorowski in a conversation with Karolina Lewicka in the "Political Interview" on TOK FM.

"I see a shift in [Donald Tusk's] political plan since June 4th. It was supposed to be the climax. Something didn't happen. There was no such thing, no political earthquake. Today, in my opinion, Donald Tusk is sending signals that everything is possible, that nothing has been decided yet. From my perspective, he is probably waiting for the results of the EPP elections" - said former president Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

"Donald Tusk heads the European Council until December 1st, so it's difficult for him to change his plans. I think Donald Tusk is not someone we should issue ultimatums to today," said Agnieszka Pomaska from Civic Platform (PO) in an interview with Fakty TVN.

"Consolidating the left [is my dream]. Robert has his dreams, Adrian has his dreams. They overlap by 95%. We would like to consolidate as large a part of the left as possible at the club or joint party level," stated the leader of the Democratic Left Alliance, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, in a conversation with Dorota Gawryluk on "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

"Regarding a [joint] party, we have had extensive consultations with Wiosna on this matter, including within the leaderships of our parties. I have a very positive opinion when it comes to the SLD. As for Adrian [Zandberg], when we met four months ago, it was clear that he would form his own party, and we have absolutely no grievances about that, because that's what we agreed upon. I don't know if there won't be a [joint parliamentary club in the Sejm]" – said the leader of the Democratic Left Alliance, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

"We are very far along in reaching an agreement on this matter [the presidential candidate]. We will communicate it to everyone, without any problems. We will announce next week when it happens. If it's Robert Biedroń, everyone will say it was to be expected. If it's Mr. Zandberg, everyone will say that's also a great candidacy" - said the leader of the Democratic Left Alliance, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- I am waiting for a statement from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, because he will be announcing what the future government will look like. I don't know the extent of Marshal Karczewski's knowledge - said Jacek Sasin in a conversation with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

- However, I believe that the Prime Minister should be the one issuing such statements - Sasin added.

- The model that replaced the Ministry of State Treasury was not a happy one. Meaning, strategic companies were under the Prime Minister's authority. It is known that the Prime Minister has a great many tasks and events, and this supervision could not be as close as it should have been - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

- I don't know if he was ever armored [Banaś]. That's what he was actually called, because he was indeed uncompromising in the fight against VAT mafias, and he truly achieved great successes there.
