Dworczyk Responds to Accusations and Presents Letter from the National Election Commission:

Prohibition on campaigning applies only within the territory of the Republic of Poland.

Today on Twitter a recording appeared showing Michał Dworczyk and Olga Semeniuk distributing PiS leaflets in Chicago during the election silence. 300POLITYKA asked the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery for a comment on this matter. In response, one of Mateusz Morawiecki's closest associates sent us a letter from the National Election Commission (PKW), which clarifies that the prohibition on campaigning applies exclusively to the territory of Poland, while refraining from electoral campaigning abroad remains solely within the sphere of broadly understood political culture. Furthermore, Dworczyk emphasized in a conversation with 300POLITYKA that the trip to the USA was financed with private funds.

- The National Election Commission, in its explanations, takes the position that the prohibition on electoral campaigning after the end of the election campaign, as defined in the Electoral Code, applies exclusively to the territory of the Republic of Poland. Meanwhile, refraining from electoral campaigning abroad remains solely within the sphere of broadly understood political culture - it was written in the letter signed by Magdalena Pietrzak.

- The PKW notes that, according to the Electoral Code, violation of the election silence is a misdemeanor. However, as indicated by the Code of Misdemeanors, liability for misdemeanors applies to anyone who commits a misdemeanor on the territory of the Republic of Poland, as well as on a Polish aircraft or vessel. It should also be noted that during voting abroad, just as in Poland, the prohibition on electoral campaigning applies within the polling station and on the premises of the building where the polling station is located - it was stated.
