The Senate session will commence at 11:00 AM. This three-day session is planned as the last of this term, though it is already known that the chamber will convene again after the elections. During the session, 18 bills will be considered, including legislation concerning the travel of high-ranking state officials and the so-called 'politicians' family asset declaration' bill. In mid-September, Stanisław Karczewski admitted that the session was likely to be shortened, followed by an adjournment. The Marshal of the Senate's briefing before the session will take place at 10:30 AM.

Wednesday marks the final day of President Andrzej Duda's visit to the USA. The Head of State is scheduled to participate in a meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child at 2:30 PM Polish time, followed by a dialogue on intensifying efforts for the implementation of sustainable development goals at 4:05 PM. At 10:30 PM, the Presidential Couple will meet with representatives of Jewish organizations, and at 12:05 AM, with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will be visiting the Silesian Voivodeship. The head of the Polish government will visit the "Bzie-Dębina" mine in Jastrzębie-Zdrój at 9:30 AM and at 11:00 AM will attend the ceremony for signing a cooperation agreement regarding district heating supply for the residents of Radlin. At 12:50 PM, he will lay flowers at the monument to fallen rescuers in Bytom, and at 1:00 PM, he will visit the Central Mining Rescue Station. At 2:00 PM, he will participate in the award ceremony for the winners of the Central Mining Rescue Competitions in Bytom, and at 3:30 PM, he will attend the opening of a nitrocellulose production line in Krupski Młyn.

The Civic Coalition candidate will be in Warsaw today. At some point, I felt that what I've been doing online for 4 years was a very good moment to test myself also in pure politics, because I started from satire, from a heartfelt need. 4 years ago, I started commenting on public life – stated Klaudia Jachira in a conversation with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. - Everyone can have their opinion. I am a very distinct person and people either like me or they don't. I respect that. She has the right to say that, but I am absolutely not resigning. On the contrary, my campaign is gaining momentum. Every day I stand on the streets of Warsaw, talking to Varsovians - she added.

- I'm simply doing my job. I want to help the coalition strive for victory - stated Klaudia Jachira in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- I have issued a statement in which I apologize to everyone who was offended by this photo. The photo was taken out of context. The photo was taken last Friday during a climate strike. It wasn't my initiative. Two people, young girls, simply approached with this banner, and it was all about a play on words. I thought it was just a humorous play on words and that there was nothing objectionable about it. I never would have thought it would cause such controversy. If I had known it would cause this, I never would have posted the photo online. The photo was posted as part of a post, and it was the fourth photo in sequence. However, I have already apologized for it - stated Klaudia Jachira in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. She added that, in her opinion, the slogan "God, Honor, Fatherland" is currently being appropriated by right-wing circles.

- It saddens me greatly that when nationalists march with that banner "God, Honor, Fatherland" through the streets of Warsaw, the streets of Poland, and spew hatred towards other religious groups, towards Jews, towards people of different sexual orientations, no one makes a scandal of it - stated Klaudia Jachira in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. - Why do [veterans] not feel offended when nationalist individuals, calling for similar things for which our ancestors died, so greatly degrade this slogan by wanting Jews and homosexuals? That my fellow actors living in Warsaw are afraid to leave their homes every morning and want to leave Poland because they feel threatened as a homosexual couple - added the KO candidate.

- This will be a structure within the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. An analysis center that simply exists. Its head will hold ministerial rank. Please do not look at this in a personal way. This is a structure I have been building for over a dozen months, one that is built, because it has been functioning since its very inception - said Waldemar Paruch in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Quarter of an Hour".

I realize that it's thanks to people like me that Kaczyński will lose. I have to [be confident] because if I didn't believe it, I wouldn't be doing it. Everything I do, I do because I believe in it - stated Klaudia Jachira in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

I am conducting a very active campaign. I'm on the street every day. I'm constantly talking to people and I truly believe that we are capable of winning, and I think that only a strong message that exposes all the hypocrisy of the current authorities... I simply dream of freedom, of everyone in my, our country being able to live as they wish - she added.

I believe that I have never crossed the line in my videos, a line which the current government very often crosses. What's more, I think what I'm doing is strongly Gombrowicz-esque. I think Gombrowicz would also be hated just like I am now – stated Klaudia Jachira in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- We aimed to break a certain phenomenon used by our predecessors. There were units within the Chancellery of the Prime Minister that dealt with politics understood in terms of shaping a political image. Simply put, public relations. That's not what politics is about. Politics cannot be reduced to that. Internal units that focused on shaping a positive image, most often of the Prime Minister - said Waldemar Paruch in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

- Our opponents, when they won elections in 2007 and 2011, presented a program solely to win the election. This program was not at all implemented afterwards - said Waldemar Paruch in a conversation with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

„The same Advocate General [at the CJEU], in a case currently pending before the Court, clearly states in his opinion that the disciplinary system in Poland, established for judges, and the appointment of the National Council of the Judiciary almost entirely by politicians, is contrary to the fundamental principles of the Treaties. This case [of preliminary questions] concerns procedural matters” – said the Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform, Borys Budka, in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on Polish Radio Three.

„Once, Law and Justice reminded me of a party that wouldn't spare its own, who would go and prosecute. That's no longer the case. PiS politicians are untouchable. We see what's happening at KNF, at NBP. No cases are proceeding. Nothing will happen with Minister Banaś” - said Piotr Apel from the Polish Coalition in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

"[Marian Banaś] should fade into political oblivion. This is a whole series of different sins that he has committed. Is the market price 5,000 zloty for two apartments and a tenement house? No. This means that some crime must have occurred" - said Piotr Apel from the Polish Coalition in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- We will pressure the current head of NIK, if it is indeed confirmed that something is wrong, to resign - stated Radosław Fogiel in a conversation with Jacek Gądek on Gazeta.pl.

- If the situation matures to the point where it really looks like the head of NIK cannot fulfill his duties, we will also strive to reach an agreement with the opposition on creating a legal loophole for his dismissal in the future term. The law can be amended to, for example, allow for some actions in extraordinary cases - the deputy spokesperson for PiS continued.

- We will do everything to ensure that a person who should not hold the position of head of NIK does not hold that position - he emphasized, stressing that "we will not allow a Krzysztof Kwiatkowski case to happen."

- We are counting on the Senate pact, on cooperation or an agreement that involves not competing, not challenging opposition candidates, to bring us victory in the Senate. We believe that these Senate elections could be the key and will give us a chance to build a good political balance, which in the presidential elections next spring will show that a new era is coming for Poland - said Grzegorz Schetyna during a press conference in Rzeszów.

- We began by recalling the statement [by Riads Haidar], made two days ago. We waited for the leading politicians of Civic Platform to respond to this statement by one of the leaders of their grouping. Two days have passed. Neither Ms. Kidawa-Błońska nor Mr. Schetyna have uttered a word on this matter, so we have the right to believe that what we heard just now, and what was said two days ago in the studio of one of the radio stations, is simply the official stance of the European Coalition, Civic Platform, the stance of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska and Grzegorz Schetyna. Riad Haidar is not some rank-and-file member of the party or an activist of the European Coalition; he is one of the leaders of this party, a leader of the European Coalition in the electoral district of Chełm, Zamość, Biała Podlaska, one of the 40 electoral districts. Therefore, we can clearly say that he is one of the 40 most important politicians of the European Coalition in Poland, and he is formulating views that – as we understand now, after the silence of the European Coalition's leadership – are authoritative views and a plan for governing by Platform, Schetyna's and Kidawa-Błońska's party – stated Jacek Sasin at a press conference. He added:

"We are probably grateful to Riad Haidar, and we should thank him. I thank him from this place for having the courage to publicly reveal the plan, the true intentions of the European Coalition for the post-election period, for the period when the European Coalition would take power in Poland and either Kidawa-Błońska or Schetyna would become prime minister. This plan is based on two pillars, two fundamental postulates. The first postulate is to limit the 500+ program to such an extent that it would practically cease to function. The introduction of an income threshold of, we don't know, 2000 or 2500 PLN, because we have two versions, but regardless of that, even if it were 2500 PLN, in light of the decision already made by the government that from January 1st next year the minimum wage will be 2600 PLN, this means that the average Polish family, parents with two children, who would earn the minimum wage, or slightly more, would already have difficulty obtaining this benefit. This is indeed a very serious declaration that completely invalidates all the announcements from PO politicians who said that the program would be retained. We understand that it is to be retained only for a very small group of people, while those Poles, those families who actually have slightly higher incomes, but not that high, because we hear about 2000 PLN per person in a family, will be deprived of this right."

- The second pillar of this program is a rapid, drastic moral revolution. Same-sex marriages and the right for these marriages to adopt children. This statement is all the more credible because it fits into the context of many other statements by European Coalition politicians, such as Michał Szczerba, who not so long ago, during a broadcast on Polish Radio 24, in response to the host journalist's remark that the Constitution in Poland defines marriage as a union of a woman and a man, and thus excludes same-sex marriages, said: that's a debatable issue, it's about the interpretation of the Constitution. So I understand that such a plan exists within Platform, regardless of these constitutional provisions – Sasin continued.

Today, from this very place, I address and implore the leadership of Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska), primarily Grzegorz Schetyna and Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, to finally tell Poles the truth. Let them stand in truth and inform us what their plan is for governing, for Poland. Enough of this situation where serious politicians lie, deceive Poles before elections. Civic Platform is a party that has repeatedly lied to Poles. Today, it tries again to don the mask of a party that is conservative, cares about citizens, does not want to impose anything on Poles, but thanks to individuals like Riad Haidar, courageous PO politicians, we know what the true plan of this party is. It is time to stand in truth and speak. Let Civic Platform say that it supports limiting the 500+ program, introducing an income criterion, and introducing same-sex marriages in Poland with the right to adopt children. Poles have the right to know this – stated Jacek Sasin at a press conference. Poles want to make choices in the elections on October 13th based on real programs, on genuine announcements and declarations, not on lies and attempts to twist the facts. I once again call on PO politicians: come out and tell Poles whether you support limiting, or effectively abolishing, the 500+ program and same-sex marriages with the right to adopt children. Let these courageous voices within parts of PO finally find confirmation in your statements, because Poles simply deserve it. Poles must choose based on real programs and true electoral announcements – added the Deputy Prime Minister.

- I can say this much about this matter. The President is on unpaid leave. The services are taking action in this regard. I do not have knowledge of the special services' findings, nor should I, as this is how services operate. We are waiting for this matter to be clarified - stated Jacek Sasin at a press conference. He added that "the matter awaits clarification and will be thoroughly investigated." - The President [Banaś] has not been charged with anything. We are dealing with media reports. This information must be verified. The President denies the truthfulness of these reports, and the relevant services simply need to check them - he continued. - We are not evading responsibility, nor is President Banaś evading responsibility, unlike his predecessor who, despite facing charges, remained in his position, and his political backing accepted this state of affairs. We want this matter clarified, and it will be clarified - the Deputy Prime Minister added.

“We have planned to vote on all the laws that we will debate by tomorrow. We will announce an adjournment and resume sessions on October 17th and 18th, so that the Senate can consider and address the laws that are to be passed at the end of the Sejm's interrupted session” - said the Marshal of the Senate, Stanisław Karczewski, at a press conference.

“We did not have a consensus. PO senators were against it” - he added.

„The public activity of the NIK President so far, and previously Minister of Finance, Marian Banas, allows me to formulate a very high assessment of his work. A patriot, he did a great deal regarding the National Revenue Administration (KAS), contributing to the elimination of the VAT mafia. He certainly has great achievements. I believe the President acted correctly by requesting leave until the CBA investigation concludes. Let's all wait for the results” – said the Marshal of the Senate, Stanisław Karczewski, at a press conference.

- Marian Banaś must have been vetted by the ABW. Today, we are asking what the results of that vetting were. Did Mr. Marian Banaś conceal information about whom he rents the tenement house to? Did he include information about this tenement house? There are two possibilities. Either he concealed this information, or the ABW conducted its check unreliably. In a way that is an affront to decency. It's hard to imagine the services acting so unprofessionally. Unless the point is that there is a special protective umbrella of the services over Mr. Banaś - said Marcin Kierwiński during a press conference in front of the Internal Security Agency.

"I hope that the results of the CBA's audit will not negate the merits and achievements of the president thus far" - said Senate Marshal Stanisław Karczewski at a press conference.

"Let's wait for the results of the actions, the audits. Then we will make decisions. This is a statement from Mr. Spokesperson [Fogiel]. I will not comment on it. It is unambiguous" - he added. 

Radosław Fogiel, in an interview with gazeta.pl, stated: "We will pressure the current head of NIK, if it were indeed to be confirmed that something is wrong, to resign."

Mr. Kwiatkowski didn't even manage to take a vacation. So let's wait for the results of the audit. We haven't seen the questions, I haven't met with you [journalists] asking whether President Kwiatkowski should resign. Indeed, I have met with you so many times, and TVN never asked me about this, even though the case was gaining momentum. There was a time when charges were filed, an indictment. TVN never asked if Kwiatkowski should resign, never did such a question come to me, whether Kwiatkowski should resign. Just as the question of whether the law should be changed so that people suspected of committing criminal offenses could hold the position of President of NIK was not asked. This shows the double standards of TVN television. I'm not deciding this, but TVN television is an obvious player on the Polish political scene. It gets involved on one side. It is not a television station that reports impartially on matters, but rather a television station that is involved, or it demonstrates a double standard in its relationship with Mr. Banaś and Mr. Kwiatkowski. It's very good that doubts about Mr. Banaś are being shown, I am not criticizing that here, but it is very bad that the same standard was not maintained in the case of Mr. Kwiatkowski, and that today this activity is visible, while back then matters were swept under the rug, including in the media sphere. We are all power, you [media] are the fourth estate. If something does not appear in the media, it is usually intentional, even though former president Kwiatkowski is running for the Senate, I also haven't heard questions about whether it is ethical and appropriate for Schetyna and the Civic Platform to support a former party colleague, even though there is an indictment in court - stated Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference at the Ministry of Justice.

"We, local government officials, are engaging in the election campaign because it will also concern the future of our cities. Unfortunately, today it looks like PiS is trying to fulfill its promises using the money of city residents. The costs for local governments are enormous, and we must clearly state that the bill for what the ruling party promises will be presented to the residents of the cities where we are mayors. Our involvement stems from civic duty. We are launching a turnout campaign. We want to encourage as many Poles as possible to participate in the vote," said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, at a press conference.

"Our small homelands may not survive the next 4 years. We showed in the local government elections that our voice counts. We appeal to all local government officials to stir up the energy they were able to mobilize in the local government elections," added the Mayor of Łódź, Hanna Zdanowska.

„The Senate has followed the same path as the Sejm. The senatorial majority, under the leadership of the Marshal, decided to introduce a very dangerous precedent into Polish political life – to adjourn the Senate session and resume it after the elections. This composition of the Senate, after the elections, will not have a political mandate to deliberate, and even less so to adopt any laws. Convening a Sejm session, and immediately after it, a Senate session after the elections, not only raises suspicion but is extremely dangerous. In this way, tax laws could be quickly enacted, for example, introducing new tax burdens for citizens while assuring them before the elections that there would be none. This way, legal protection could also be introduced for those who broke the law while PiS was in power” - said Senator Bogdan Klich of Civic Platform (PO) at a press conference.

The updated agenda for the State Control Committee has appeared on the Sejm's website. Tomorrow, MPs will review the President of the Supreme Audit Office's (NIK) motions for the dismissal of three NIK Vice-Presidents and the appointment of one new one.

– President Banaś has gone on unpaid leave at this moment and is now awaiting a resolution to the situation. We believe this is the right approach. As for what steps will be taken later, it is too early to say. We emphasize one thing. Certainly, from PiS's side, there is no leniency towards someone who breaks the law or has issues with it. We will not allow ourselves another Krzysztof Kwiatkowski - stated Radosław Fogiel in a conversation with journalists before the PiS headquarters.

– We do not assume anyone is guilty. We are awaiting clarification of the matter – added the Deputy Spokesperson for PiS.

- Before any such decisions could be made, we would need to know that something is wrong. At this moment, we only have the word of a journalist, the author of a report, against the word of Minister Banaś, who has announced legal action. It is too early to judge anything - stated Radosław Fogiel in a conversation with journalists in front of the PiS headquarters, when asked about the idea of a law that would enable the dismissal of the head of NIK.

- For now, there is no reason to dismiss the head of NIK - emphasized the deputy spokesperson for PiS.

- My dear friends, it is you who are changing the world, and the world will be as you've dreamed it, but you cannot be idle. You can take matters into your own hands and do it yourselves. - Despite a certain temperature of dispute, which perhaps surprises some of us at times, I would very much like for such a compromise, a deeper agreement, to be reached in our dear homeland. And regardless of the fact that politics and democracy are very often associated with dispute, actually always. The salt of democracy is a certain dispute over the vision of the state; one must have it, present that program, but once it exists, one can dispute it. We have presented such a program. There is a certain vision of development, but also on the other hand, on the most important issues that determine the quality of political and economic life, and the economy. - If President Macron wants to lecture anyone on how politics should be conducted, then perhaps he should first start with himself, his own country, and his own administration. - Do not let October 13th be a day when only the trees change into increasingly colorful hues. Our future must also present itself in various, but colorful, shades.
