Siemoniak:

There are no independent individuals in PiS. If the party leader calls, Banaś will resign
- There are no independent individuals in PiS. I believe that if the party leader calls, he [Marian Banaś] will resign. This matter is of enormous magnitude, it's a very serious crisis. It concerns a person who headed the tax and customs administration for several years, and now serves as the President of NIK (Supreme Audit Office). Someone like that should be beyond any suspicion - stated Tomasz Siemoniak in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:55

Siemoniak:

PiS members are above the law. They believe nothing will touch them

- PiS members are above the law. They believe nothing will touch them, and indeed their passion for real estate is quite astonishing. It turns out to be a party of developers, of millionaires. How many people have tenements in Krakow that can be rented out for such purposes? Something is not right here – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- The problem is that under PiS rule, there is a caste of untouchable people whom no one can touch or investigate. And Mr. Banaś is an example of this – the Civic Platform politician continued.

08:01

Siemoniak on Kidawa-Błońska's Candidacy: Results Will Come in the Elections. For Our Voters, This is a Turning Point

- It was a turning point. Results will come in the elections. I believe that these three weeks are a lot in Polish politics today, and truly, for our voters, the nomination of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska was a turning point – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego," when asked why the change from Grzegorz Schetyna to Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska was not a turning point.

08:05

Nitras:

Banaś Must Have Known. Resignation At Least

- In my opinion, Mr. Banaś must have known about the activities conducted there. Since there is a website where it is written, the first time I saw such an advertisement, that there is a room for rent by the hour, it seems unambiguous to everyone, I don't believe that someone who owns a tenement house has not seen this advertisement - said Sławomir Nitras in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- Resignation at least. I am aware that this is being revealed three weeks before the elections. Such facts tend to get lost, they get lost in the general campaign atmosphere, and can easily be dismissed with other arguments - added Nitras.

08:05

Siemoniak:

I'll agree with Kaczyński for once: Szydło is not Kidawa-Błońska. And that statement says it all. Kidawa-Błońska is a completely different person than Szydło. She is a completely independent individual.

- I will agree with President Kaczyński for once, who said yesterday: Beata Szydło is not Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. And that statement says it all. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is a completely different person than Beata Szydło. Above all, which is the main difference, she is a completely independent individual, and anyone who knows her or observes her public career knows that this is not just a tactic. Beata Szydło was not an independent agent. She agreed with the president for 4 years, she said so herself, and one evening she ceased to be prime minister. So in this case, I think, President Kaczyński has a huge problem, because yesterday, alongside that valid observation that she is not Beata Szydło, he also said that this obsession of the president with the wolf and wolf eyes, presumably Donald Tusk's, that a wolf is lurking behind Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. These are some unheard-of situations - stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:13

Siemoniak:

People Matter, Candidates, Their Credibility. Slogans, Billboards Are a Bit of Campaign Past. Kidawa-Błońska vs. Kaczyński – This is the Main Duel. People Have a Choice
Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska’s ad had a million views [online]. This is a record in the history of Polish politics. "Tomorrow can be better" is our [election] slogan, and I consider PiS’s slogan "A Good Time for Poland" to be fatal. I don’t meet people, maybe it’s partly because Poles like to complain, but no one thinks they are having a good time. So this slogan is for people in limousines. Everyone always wants to have a better time. It’s not like someone thinks they are doing well already, that nothing better will happen in their life. So I think this campaign shows that people matter, candidates, their credibility. That slogans, billboards are already a bit of campaign past, and that’s what we’re focusing on. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska versus Jarosław Kaczyński – this is the main duel. People have a choice – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:18

Nitras on removing Jachira from candidate lists due to 'God, Hummus, Root Vegetables' banner: It seems to me that this should happen
I can only apologize. I believe this behavior is indecent. It reflects poorly on a person who tries to be noticed in this way. She has harmed herself and all of us - said Sławomir Nitras in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti". - It seems to me that this should happen [Klaudia Jachira should be removed from the list]. This is not just one bridge too far. I don't know what this is supposed to serve. These are important words for all of us - Nitras added. As the Civic Platform politician pointed out, he does not know if the removal is formally possible after the lists have already been registered.

08:42

Sasin:

I Trust Banasi and Believe Him Because I Know Him from His Work Over the Past 4 Years in Government

- There is a statement from President Banasi, who denies these facts, saying that if such activities were conducted, because I also don't have such knowledge, he had no knowledge, he simply rented these premises, these premises in good faith. I trust and believe the minister, and currently the President of NIK, because I know him, I know him primarily from his activities over the past 4 years in government as head of the tax services, and most recently as Minister of Finance. He is a man who has saved us all tens of billions of zlotys annually, which previously flowed to VAT mafias. It was he who ensured that this money ended up in the budget, and I think if one could say he was a dishonest person, he would certainly not have achieved these successes - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on "Salon polityczny Trójki".

08:51

Dworczyk on Banasi: It wasn't PiS that appointed anyone, but the Sejm of the Republic of Poland

"It wasn't PiS that appointed anyone, but the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. That's how it was, is, and will be. Democracy is constructed in such a way that there is always a parliamentary majority, and yet until recently we said that it was the Sejm and the Senate that appointed various officials. Of course, PiS has the parliamentary majority, and it was with PiS votes [that Marian Banasi was elected]" - said Minister Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

08:52

Dworczyk:

I Know Banaś as Someone Who Fought Determinedly and Ruthlessly Against Various Pathologies: VAT Mafias, Leaky Tax System

To the best of my knowledge, certain charges have been brought against the President of NIK. I know the President’s history as someone who fought determinedly and ruthlessly against various pathologies: VAT mafias, a leaky tax system. Previously, he had a distinguished opposition record. Journalistic material accuses him of specific actions. The President, Mr. Banaś, presents a different version of these events and announces a lawsuit. To my knowledge, Mr. Marian Banaś was the owner of a tenement house that was rented out as a hotel” – Minister Michał Dworczyk said in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on TOK FM Radio’s morning program.

08:52

Sasin:

Schetyna Should Refrain from Discussing Standards and Scandals, Given His Own Guilty Conscience

- If we talk about colourful language and aggression in speech, Grzegorz Schetyna is truly unrivalled on the Polish political scene. However, I greatly appreciate, and I say this ironically, Grzegorz Schetyna's concern for standards and his desire – as he also formulates expectations – for the resignations of the most important people in the state. We are talking here about the President of NIK (Supreme Audit Office) after one report on a television station which, let's be honest, doesn't exactly distinguish itself with particular objectivity when it comes to politicians associated with the United Right camp. Yet, when it comes to his own colleagues, such as Sławomir Neumann, who faces prosecutorial charges, and furthermore, we recently know how he overstepped standards in spending public funds, or MP Brejza, whom we know organised a hate campaign in Inowrocław using public money, his standards seem to look entirely different. Is he prepared to defend them to the bitter end and keep them in high party positions? Therefore, it is better for Grzegorz Schetyna to refrain from commenting on standards and scandals, as he himself has a lot on his conscience - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on "Salon polityczny Trójki" (Political Salon of Trójka).

08:53

Dworczyk:

Banaś Rented Out Property and Had No Influence Over Tenants' Actions

[President Banaś] is no longer the owner of this property today. He previously rented it out and had no influence over what the tenants [were doing in the property]” – Minister Michał Dworczyk said in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on TOK FM Radio's Morning Program.

08:57

Sasin:

The 2020 Budget Must Be Adopted by the Government This Week

- The budget [for 2020] has not yet been adopted by the government. It must be done this week, which we have started, and until that point, the discussion [regarding the abolition of the 30-fold limit] will likely continue. It is always the case that with decisions of this type, important decisions, including budgetary ones, talks and the search for compromise, including within the government, last until the very last moment - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Paweł Lisicki in "Trójka Political Salon".

09:36

Holland:

Wherever the Ministry Has Power in a Theatre, It Tries to Implement Personnel Engineering

I see these threats in the activities of the Minister of Culture, Mr. Gliński. Film, I must say, has been affected to a relatively lesser extent, but when it comes to theatres, it started very quickly, with changes at the Polski Theatre and attempts at censorship of the play, followed by the removal of the management that had built the ensemble, and the appointment of a director who soon proved to be not only incompetent, not only unable to cope with the ensemble, but also not very honest. This director was defended tooth and nail, until the theatre was essentially destroyed. Subsequently, similar decisions were made in the case of the Stary Theatre. Wherever the ministry has some power in a theatre, because generally theatres are fortunately under the auspices of cities, it tries to carry out personnel engineering within these theatres” - said director Agnieszka Holland in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:55

Müller:

Difficult to Comment on Allegations Against NIK President; He Denounces Material as Manipulation and Vows Legal Action

- Firstly, it is difficult for us to comment on the allegations concerning the President of NIK. It is an institution independent of the government. However, this does not change the fact that yesterday Minister Banaś, the former minister, now the President of NIK, clearly and unequivocally emphasized in his statement that the material is an attempt at manipulation and that he will take the matter to court. It is now difficult to refer to this material in any other way because we also do not know the specific facts. Let's wait a few days. I think this matter will be clarified – stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- We can possibly discuss the ethical assessment, whether the President of NIK was aware of this situation, and I think this will be determined this week. Meanwhile, the President of NIK himself indicated that he would take the matter to court. So I am counting on him actually doing so, in accordance with his declarations – emphasized the government spokesperson.

09:59

Müller:

Government unlikely to adopt 2020 budget project on Tuesday. Most likely this week or Monday
No, the draft [of the 2020 budget] will probably not be on the agenda for tomorrow's Council of Ministers meeting, but it will of course be adopted within the statutory deadline of September 30th. So, in the coming days. Most likely this week or Monday - stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

Czarzasty in Szczecin: We wanted to bow with great respect to those who made it possible for us to call this place Poland. Regardless of whether they were Polish or Soviet soldiers

- We wanted, first and foremost, to bow with great respect to those who fought and made it possible for us to call this place Poland. Regardless of whether they were Polish soldiers or Soviet soldiers, of whom approximately 700,000 died on our country's territory. These people liberated us. These people gave us freedom from Germany and Germans, from fascists – Włodzimierz Czarzasty said during a press conference in Szczecin.

10:05

Kwaśniewski:

It Seems Kidawa-Błońska Will Be Civic Coalition's Presidential Candidate

- It seems that Mrs. Kidawa-Błońska will be the Civic Coalition's candidate [for president], for whom the "prime ministerial" campaign will be a trial run and a way to build recognition - stated Aleksander Kwaśniewski in an interview with Łukasz Kijek on Gazeta.pl's Morning Conversation.

- Donald Tusk, with his entire historical legacy, will be condemned to discussions about the past, and elections are won by talking about the future. Public media, especially if they remain under PiS's control, will do everything they can to prevent Tusk from escaping the cage of the past - emphasized the former president.

10:14

Biedroń:

It's Also a Matter of Dignity for Szczecin to Host Important National Issues. Why Couldn't the Constitutional Tribunal Be in Szczecin?
- It's also a matter of dignity for Szczecin to be a place where important national issues are addressed, for an institution that the whole of Poland will talk about to be established here in Szczecin. This is happening across our border, with our neighbours. Institutions, regional capitals, important offices, including constitutional tribunals, are being moved to such towns. Why couldn't the Constitutional Tribunal, like Germany's in Karlsruhe, be located in Szczecin? - said Robert Biedroń during a press conference in Szczecin.

11:16

Witczak:

We reiterate our demand for Banaś's resignation. Following such a resignation, Marshal Witek must urgently convene an extraordinary Sejm session.

- On Saturday, Chairman Grzegorz Schetyna demanded a very swift reaction and Marian Banaś's resignation from his post. Today, we reiterate this demand, and today is the day when this resignation must be shown to public opinion as quickly as possible. In such a situation, after such a resignation, Marshal Witek must urgently convene an extraordinary Sejm session to accept this resignation, and a new person must be elected to the position of President of NIK as soon as possible – stated Mariusz Witczak during a press conference.

Michał Krupiński on Bloomberg TV: Technological Transformation and Consolidation are Challenges for Banks
European banks must undergo a process of digital transformation, regardless of the difficult macroeconomic and regulatory environment. This transformation will give them a chance to reduce the gap with US banks – assessed Michał Krupiński, CEO of Bank Pekao S.A., in an interview with Bloomberg TV. - I think the current situation with interest rates in Western Europe and the regulatory environment should not be treated as an excuse for banks to change. We have too many banks in Europe – therefore, consolidation should occur. On the other hand, we observe the results of banks in the United States, which are undergoing this transformation and discussing the technology of the future – said Michał Krupiński. In the opinion of the Pekao CEO, the situation of the banking sector in Poland looks somewhat different, with a projected GDP growth of around 4.5%, making it the second fastest-growing economy in Europe. - The Polish banking sector is very stable and well-capitalized, despite the existing bank tax – said Krupiński. However, he added that the Polish sector faces challenges, including a potential unfavorable ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) regarding Swiss franc loans. - We are in a good situation because Bank Pekao's exposure to Swiss franc mortgages is negligible. However, a systemic problem could of course arise if the ruling is more conservative – commented Krupiński. The CEO of Pekao also reaffirmed the bank's strategic financial goals, pointing out that the second-quarter results grew at a double-digit pace. – Our growth in retail banking is the fastest in 10 years, and in the case of medium-sized companies – it amounts to 20 percent. As a bank, we also have significant savings and very stable risk and operational costs, so we are optimistic about achieving 3 billion PLN in net profit next year, which translates to a 12.5% ROE – he concluded.

Jaki Announces Report to Prosecutor Regarding "Beetroot Juice": Warsaw City Hall Lacks Funds for Nurseries and the Disabled, but Has Money for the Biggest Cesspool, Sewer, and Hate Factory

"The PO-led Warsaw City Hall has reneged on its promises, and there were no funds for nurseries or additional kindergarten activities. There was no extra money for the disabled. There isn't enough money to pay a small compensation to the daughter of the murdered Jolanta Brzeska, yet money was found for the person organizing 'Beetroot Juice'. The biggest cesspool, sewer, and hate factory on the internet, financed by Warsaw residents' money, directly to the person who organized all of this. This is unbelievable" – said PiS MEP Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

"Tomorrow I will file a report to the prosecutor's office regarding the potential commission of a crime through the use of public funds for organized hate and fakes on an unbelievable scale" – he added.

Civic Platform Initiates Parliamentary Scrutiny of BOŚ Bank: 'We Want to Know if the Loan for Banaś's Son Was Granted Like to Any Passerby'

"BOŚ is over 70% owned by the Polish state. As befits a state-owned bank, its supervisory board includes Jarosław Kaczyński's close friend, Ms. Janina Goss. Also on the board is President Duda's advisor and a whole host of other individuals long associated with PiS. We have come to find out how things stood with the loan to Mr. Marian Banaś, or rather, the loan taken out by his son's company, for which the collateral was a tenement house then owned by Marian Banaś. We would like to ask if this loan was not granted through a 'phone call' procedure, similar to the loan at Pekao SA for the Srebrna company for the construction of two towers," said Izabela Leszczyna at a press conference.

"We want to find out if this loan was granted like to any passerby who would ask for a loan. Were other individuals from the families of PiS government members also granted loans here under a special procedure? Were loans granted to Mr. Banaś's son's company in other state institutions, such as NFOŚ or WFOŚ? This is a bank where public money is held," added Jarosław Urbaniak from Civic Platform.

Kaczmarska on Marshal's Guard Officers: I am shocked by this situation

- I am shocked by this situation, by this news - stated Agnieszka Kaczmarska, head of the Chancellery of the Sejm, in a conversation with journalists at the Sejm. - There will be consequences for the person who committed such acts. I have requested the commander [of the Marshal's Guard] for disciplinary dismissal from service - she emphasized, adding that it was a rank-and-file officer.

- An officer of the Marshal's Guard, with 19 years of service, was detained by the Police in connection with a report concerning the directing of punishable threats against a public figure. There were no reservations regarding the course of his over ten years of service to date. In connection with the above, the Head of the Chancellery of the Sejm, at the request of the Commander of the Marshal's Guard, immediately suspended the accused officer from duty and demanded that steps be taken to immediately dismiss him from service. At the same time, in accordance with the Act on the Marshal's Guard, disciplinary proceedings against the officer were immediately initiated - informed the Sejm Information Centre in a statement.

15:16

Czarzasty:

We Talk a Lot About De-concentration. We See Nothing Wrong with Central Institutions Being in Various Places, Not Necessarily Warsaw

- Sustainable development doesn't mean there are 16 provincial cities. Sustainable development includes former provincial cities, all small and medium-sized towns, and the Polish countryside. It's all of Poland. We cannot look at Poland solely through the prism of Warsaw. We talk a lot about de-concentration. About moving central institutions towards cities other than Poland's capital. It's a good idea. We see nothing wrong with central institutions, as is the case in Western Europe, being located in various places, not necessarily in Warsaw - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during a press conference in Zielona Góra.

Dworczyk on Jachira's "Happening": Appeal to Schetyna and Kidawa-Błońska to Remove Candidate from Election Lists
One of the candidates on the Warsaw list for Civic Platform conducted a so-called "happening" which involved the profanation of a slogan and words inscribed, among other places, on this monument – words sacred to many thousands of people who fought for Poland's freedom over the last 200 years, for Poland to be an independent and democratic country. Since then, we have been receiving words of outrage and consternation from veteran circles regarding what happened - said Michał Dworczyk at a briefing in front of the Sejm. - As the head of the Office for Combatants and Victims of Repression, I have been receiving calls and holding conversations for days with veterans who are shaken, deeply shaken by what has happened here. This is a sacred place, consecrated by John Paul II to the eternal glory of Polish arms, the arms and soldiers who died for these sacred words, the words God, Honor, Fatherland, written on their banners. Today I spoke with the Chairman of the Council for Combatants and Victims of Repression, Bogusław Nizieński, who says there are no words to express the outrage for something like this, for the profanation of a slogan for which Poles have died for 200 years, for which they have shed their blood. Similar words of indignation are coming from circles of the Home Army, the National Armed Forces, the Peasant Battalions, and soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces in the West. This is unacceptable, especially since this happening took place precisely here, where these words are inscribed as an eternal memorial. For these words, which are a symbol and indeed the culmination of our path to independence, it was a compass that guided hundreds of thousands of our countrymen, shedding blood in the Warsaw Uprising, in the defensive war of 1939, so that we might be free. The veterans say one thing: they are shaken, they cannot imagine such a situation ever occurring - Jan Józef Kasprzyk continued. - Politics is very brutal, especially during an election campaign. Sharp words are spoken. The Polish political scene is highly polarized, but there are certain boundaries that should not be crossed by anyone. We, as politicians, regardless of the formation we represent, should be responsible for this - stated the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery. - I am today appealing to Grzegorz Schetyna and Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, that the person who committed this act be removed from the Civic Platform's election lists. Such individuals should not function in public life at the parliamentary level. I assure you that political responsibility means that if a party constructs its lists responsibly, there is always the possibility for a person to be removed from the list - emphasized Dworczyk.

15:27

Kidawa-Błońska:

The Marshal's Guard in the Sejm Has Undergone Changes, and It Turns Out They Weren't for the Better

The Marshal's Guard in the Sejm has undergone certain changes, and it turns out they were not for the better. Until now, I had immense trust in the guards. I have been in the Sejm for a very long time, and the cooperation with the Marshal's Guard always went very well. Unfortunately, after the recent changes, something bad has happened there, which is why it is the task of the Marshal of the Sejm and the commander of the guard to return to good standards, so that the guards watch over all MPs” – said Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a press conference in Lublin.

Dworczyk on the Banaś Case: The Lawsuit Will Be Filed in Court by Tomorrow at the Latest
President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) Marian Banaś has a distinguished record in the opposition and has made significant contributions to the fight against VAT mafias and the sealing of the fiscal system. Regarding the reports from one of the television stations in recent days, we now know, after Mr. Banaś's statement and the announcement of a lawsuit in this matter, that such a lawsuit is to be filed in court by tomorrow at the latest. For all details, please direct your questions to the spokesperson for NIK – Michał Dworczyk said during a briefing before the Sejm.

Kwieciński:

If I were in Banasi's shoes, I wouldn't resign. I believe there are no grounds.

- I absolutely wouldn't resign [if I were in Banasi's shoes]. I believe there are no grounds. As in any such situation, all aspects of this matter need to be checked, but I really don't see any grounds. He is a very solid, I would say tank-like, but at the same time very honest man - said Jerzy Kwieciński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program 'Gość Wydarzeń' (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

19:35

Kwieciński:

The budget to be presented tomorrow will differ very little from what was previously prepared

- I hope [the budget will be adopted], everything is in the hands of the government. It is a collegial decision - said Jerzy Kwieciński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program “Gość Wydarzeń” Polsat News.

- This budget, which will be presented tomorrow, will differ very little from what was previously prepared - Kwieciński added.

Kwieciński on Macron's Statement Regarding Poland: I Regret That Such Words Come from the Mouth of Such an Important French Politician

- Firstly, I regret that such words come from the mouth of such an important French politician. Of course, he has the right to say them, but please remember, in the past, we had very good, even often excellent, one might say, relations with France. Currently, not only Mr. Macron, but also his predecessor, are increasingly making statements that do not help us – said Jerzy Kwieciński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

20:04

Banaś:

I Will Request Unpaid Leave from the Marshal of the Sejm. I Will Suspend My Duties Until the CBA Clarifies This Matter
- I want to state that until these clarifications are thoroughly conducted by the CBA, tomorrow I will submit a request to the Marshal [of the Sejm] for unpaid leave. I will suspend my duties until the CBA clarifies this matter - stated Marian Banaś in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości". - These are precisely the standards of PiS, activists associated with this option. Banaś on a Balanced Budget: 'It's Something That Deeply Worries Our Opponents Because They Never Even Considered It Possible, Yet It's Entirely Achievable, Backed by Concrete Funds'
I am calm [about the audit results]. I made some adjustments there, of course, while being fully engaged in my work at the ministry, in sealing the tax system, and ultimately in developing a balanced budget, for the first time. This is truly something that deeply worries our opponents, because they never even considered that something like this could happen, and it is entirely possible, as it is covered by concrete funds that we have collected and are collecting through the National Revenue Administration – stated Marian Banaś in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

Banaś on Superwizjer Material: 'It Was an Operation Aimed Not So Much Against Me as Against the Government'

- I will not allow my authority to be tarnished, because it was an operation aimed not so much against me, as against the government and the United Right, as it is precisely a hot election period now, to simply show that there are some irregularities here by discrediting a person associated with the PiS government, as I was, a member of the government. And this is completely untrue - stated Marian Banaś in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

Sienkiewicz:

Special Services Are Absolutely Subordinate to Political Power

"The barn of Minister Szyszko, Mr. Banaś's tenement house, and a few other things turn out to be absolutely in order according to the services, which are absolutely subordinate to political power. At its head stands Jarosław Kaczyński's party comrade, who manages these services on behalf of the state. It so happens that so far we haven't had a single case where the services, despite many public doubts expressed about individuals, have in any way turned against PiS politicians. It's the same with Mr. Banaś" – said former Interior Minister Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in an interview with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

Banaś:

This Tenement House Was Sold a Month Ago

- From the very beginning, when I actually decided to work in the government, I decided to sell this tenement house. I found a tenant from an advertisement, a young man who decided to run a hotel business, and I signed such an agreement with him. And at the same time, a preliminary agreement that he would buy it. Unfortunately, after two or three years, he didn't get a loan, he withdrew from it. Meanwhile, I was completely occupied in Warsaw, I only slept for 4-5 hours, a clear success, because if we hadn't established the National Revenue Administration, hadn't sealed the tax system, hadn't effectively fought fuel mafias, but not only that, we wouldn't have achieved this success. I didn't have time, I hardly ever went to Krakow. I rarely even met my own wife, and in the meantime, I wanted this tenement house to be sold. And I succeeded in the last few weeks, a month ago. This tenement house was sold and the matter is closed - stated Marian Banaś in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

Sienkiewicz on Banasi: Requesting Suspension of Duties Seems Sensible and Justified
"[Marian Banas's] request to suspend his duties seems to me a sensible and just solution, but what will all these MPs do now, after saying over the last few days that he is crystal clear and there is no problem [with him]?" - said former Interior Minister Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in a conversation with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

Presidents PAD and Trump Sign Declaration on Deepening Defense Cooperation

Joint Declaration of the Presidents of Poland and the USA on Deepening Defense Cooperation

The Republic of Poland (Poland) and the United States of America (United States) continue to strengthen their strategic and defense relations, which enhance our mutual security and the security of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Building upon the "Joint Declaration on Defense Cooperation Regarding the Presence of United States Armed Forces on the Territory of the Republic of Poland" signed on June 12, 2019, we are continuing work on a plan to strengthen military ties between Poland and the United States, and to enhance American defense and deterrence capabilities in Poland.

These capabilities currently include approximately 4,500 rotational U.S. military personnel. As noted, this enduring presence is expected to be increased in the near future by approximately 1,000 additional U.S. military personnel.

Poland and the United States have agreed on locations for the planned increased presence of U.S. military forces.

Poznań has been designated as the location for the V Corps Forward Command Post and support elements of the U.S. Army.

Drawsko Pomorskie has been designated as the primary location for a Combat Training Center for joint use by the Polish and U.S. Armed Forces.

Wrocław-Strachowice has been designated as the location for a U.S. Air Force aerial port of debarkation.

Łask has been designated as the location for a U.S. Air Force remotely piloted aircraft squadron.

Powidz has been designated as the location for an aviation combat brigade, a combat sustainment support battalion, and a special operations forces facility.

Lubliniec has been designated as the location for an additional special operations forces facility.

Furthermore, Poland and the United States are engaged in extensive dialogue regarding the most suitable location in Poland for an armored rotational brigade combat team. These discussions are ongoing, reflecting Poland's and the United States' close operational and strategic cooperation. Poland and the United States share optimism about agreeing on the location of an armored rotational brigade combat team.

Poland and the United States reaffirm their shared commitment to pursuing the international agreements and arrangements necessary to implement enhanced infrastructure cooperation and defense cooperation, including the improved functioning of U.S. armed forces in Poland. These agreements will further strengthen our partnership and the security of the North Atlantic Treaty area.

Trump:

I'll Be in Poland Soon

- I will be there quite soon. And I hope the invitation is open. I intend to visit you soon [simultaneous translation] - said the US President Donald Trump during a meeting with President Andrzej Duda.

Trump on Visa Waiver for Poles: 'It will be possible very soon if all data is confirmed. We will surely achieve this in a few months.'
Poland is a truly great partner for us. From the US perspective, we do a lot of business with Poland. They also produce a lot of good products, which we sell here. You have excellent artisans, we really like your craftsmanship, although ours are good too. So, we truly have great trade relations. The visa waiver program is currently on the table. We are working on it from a mechanical standpoint right now. We want to implement it as quickly as possible so that transport between Poland and the USA is as easy as possible, so that movement can be as easy as possible. This is something immensely important. It was very important for the President for us to do this. He would be able to handle it through a lot of hard work [simultaneous translation] - stated the US President Donald Trump during a meeting with President Andrzej Duda.

It will be possible in a very short time if all data is confirmed. We will surely achieve this in a few months - Trump emphasized.
