Monday's Political Agenda: The Left's Conferences, Civic Coalition in Katowice and Łódź, and PSL in Podkarpacie, President Duda at a Mechanics Congress in Krakow

President Andrzej Duda at 9:00 AM will participate in the Inaugural Session of the IV Polish Congress of Mechanics and the XXIII International Conference on Computational Methods in Mechanics in Krakow.

At 1:00 PM, the leaders of The Left will hold a press conference in front of the Home Army monument. The topic will be "the timeline for restoring the rule of law after the PiS government and holding PiS politicians accountable for violating the Constitution".

At 12:00 PM in Katowice, the Civic Coalition will organize a presentation of candidates from the Silesian Voivodeship. The President of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, will be in Rzeszów, where at 2:00 PM he will hold a press conference before the Peasant Party's convention for the Podkarpacie region, which will begin at 5:00 PM.

At 2:30 PM in Łódź, a press conference will be held with the participation of the Civic Platform chairman, Grzegorz Schetyna, and Civic Coalition candidates for the Sejm and Senate.

Miller:

I regret that the European Coalition no longer exists, as it was a chance for this formation to fight an equal, and perhaps victorious, battle against PiS

- I regret that the European Coalition no longer exists, because it was a chance for this formation to fight an equal, and perhaps victorious, battle against PiS. [Today], judging by various polls, it is not an equal fight, but if you sum up all the opposition's results, then the opposition has either more than PiS or is at the same level. These studies, these poll results, do not take into account the influence of the d'Hondt method, and the influence of d'Hondt will be very significant - stated Leszek Miller in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Interview". - It's a shame that [the opposition] is going divided [to the parliamentary elections] - he added.

07:55

Miller on Kidawa-Błońska's Candidacy for Prime Minister: It Positively Surprised Me. The Former Marshal Practices a Different Style of Politics, Which Can Be Captivating

- Yes, it positively surprised me [the nomination of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska as a candidate for Prime Minister] – stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- This is a positive surprise, and the former Marshal of the Sejm practices a different style of politics, which can be captivating. It's not so much a proposal for the leaders of other opposition political parties, but a proposal for the electorates of those parties, because there are constant flows, and who knows if Kidawa-Błońska won't be attractive to electorates outside of Civic Platform – added the former Prime Minister.

07:59

Miller:

I deeply regret Ms. Żukowska is on the list, and Ms. Jaruzelska is not. This is because she would likely receive more votes than Żukowska and also Zandberg.
Something is wrong with the [SLD] spokesperson. All the more so because she not only said that [about bringing Tusk and Kopacz before the State Tribunal], but then seemed to legitimize the work of the investigation committee by saying she believes in the committee's work. One cannot say something more foolish, nor do greater harm during this election campaign period. I am therefore not surprised, when I hear there are demands for Ms. Żukowska to withdraw her candidacy, as she is a burden to the entire list. Let her do as she wishes, however, I deeply regret that Ms. Żukowska is on the list, and Ms. Jaruzelska is not - stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". - Ms. Jaruzelska is not on the list because she would likely receive more votes than not only Ms. Żukowska, but also Mr. Zandberg - he added.

Szefernaker:

PO Has a Restaurant Problem - They Recorded Themselves There While in Power, and Now Hold a Convention in a Venue Offering 1200 Zloty Caviar and Champagne

- The Civic Platform organized a convention in a Warsaw restaurant for several dozen or hundreds of people. They have a certain problem with restaurants, because first they recorded themselves in a restaurant while they were in power, and today they organized a convention in a restaurant that boasts on its website that you can buy caviar or champagne there for 1200 zloty. This shows a certain disconnect when it comes to campaign preparation - said Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:06

Miller:

Kaczyński Isn't Talking About His Own Money. The Main Burden of These Obligations Would Fall on Entrepreneurs

- Kaczyński isn't talking about his own money. This is because the main burden of covering these obligations would fall on entrepreneurs. If he says he will equalize farmer subsidies, these are not decisions made in Poland; they must be made in Brussels, and Poland has had the weakest position there since 2004. I believe there is [no chance of equalizing subsidies] - stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:08

Szefernaker on the Central Pomeranian Voivodeship: We are certainly not backing down; our goal is to strengthen these regions and ultimately establish a voivodeship there.

- We are certainly not backing down; our goal is to strengthen these regions and ultimately, in the future, to establish a voivodeship there - said Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti" program.

08:10

Szefernaker on Debate: "We Will Debate on Programs"

- We want to talk about programs, that's for sure. The question is who with whom, but we will definitely debate on programs - said Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:24

Brudziński:

We Are a Responsible Party, Not a Party of Irresponsible Handouts

In the coming days, we will also discuss in detail proposals aimed at supporting Polish entrepreneurship. We are a responsible party, not a party of irresponsible handouts,” said MEP Joachim Brudziński from PiS on Radio Jedynka.

08:35

Karczewski:

This is not a handout. These are very serious social projects involving the allocation of resources we all generate. It's a fair sharing of the wealth the entire nation has worked to create.
- This is not a handout. These are very serious projects, social projects that involve directing, distributing funds that we all jointly obtain. It is a fair sharing of the wealth that the entire nation, all Poles, have worked to create. This is what Prime Minister Morawiecki spoke about in his speech, and also in Krynica, he said that he owes his success, our success, the success of PiS, to all, to all Poles. Those who work very intensely and excellently, so Poles deserve higher salaries, and this will be our goal. Development and raising the incomes of Poles, because that's what Poles are waiting for - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on 'Salon polityczny Trójki'.

08:39

Karczewski:

We Will Now Organize Thematic Conventions. The Next One in Łódź Will Focus on Family

- We will now organize thematic conventions. The next one will concern family and will be organized in Łódź, but there will be subsequent ones which will analyze and present in detail, above all, all aspects of our program - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on "Trójka's Political Salon".

08:44

Karczewski:

Grzegorz Schetyna is the True Face of Civic Coalition
I wouldn't want to judge Marshal Kidawa-Błońska in any way, because she is certainly a more conciliatory person, one with whom dialogue can be conducted. I myself have spoken with her many times, I value her greatly, however, Grzegorz Schetyna continues to rule. Grzegorz Schetyna is the true face of Civic Coalition. The change you are talking about, Mr. Editor, does not change the fact that it is he who leads this party, this coalition, and he is responsible for the coalition - Stanisław Karczewski stated in a conversation with Paweł Lisicki on 'Salon polityczny Trójki'.

08:47

Dworczyk:

Pipeline on pontoon bridge to reach 100% capacity by Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest

"Today the pipeline will reach 60% capacity and in the following days - by Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest - 100% capacity. But sewage is already being pumped to the other side of the Vistula. Everything was built at an express pace in 10 days. Work continued for the last 24 hours [without a break]" - said Minister Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:54

Dworczyk:

Next Thematic Convention in Łódź. We Will Present Further Thematic Blocks and Discuss Funding Methods

A series of thematic conventions will begin. The next one is on Saturday in Łódź, where we will present further thematic blocks and discuss funding methods. Just as it was said that the first, second, and fifth promises of PiS were impossible to implement, that if these concepts were realized, Poland would have debt at the level of PLN 100 billion and we would be in a situation similar to Greece. Today, we see that we have a balanced budget” - said Minister Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:54

Dworczyk:

The budget may be amended. We can say that the 13th pension will be, if Law and Justice wins the election
"It can of course be the case that [the budget] will be amended. The '13th pension' will be written into next year's budget. We can say that it will be, if Law and Justice wins the election. If PiS wins the election, there will be a '13th pension'" - said Minister Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:01

Gowin on Kaczyński's Words: "I Wouldn't Say Something Like That"

- I wouldn't say something like that. Firstly, there are other Christian denominations, and secondly, there are other religions with very beautiful messages, such as Buddhism. Christianity originates from Judaism, and Christianity shares many elements with the third monotheistic religion, namely Islam. And you, the editor, and I, and every listener, we all know many wonderful people who are simply non-believers. Despite this, they are guided by very strong and wise moral principles. I understand President Kaczyński's words to mean that Christianity, in the specific form represented by the Catholic Church, is the linchpin of Polish tradition. I agree with that view, but of course, it should not be understood literally, that if someone is not a Catholic, they are a nihilist. President Kaczyński certainly did not have such intentions - stated Jarosław Gowin in Radio Kraków, when asked how he received Jarosław Kaczyński's words that outside the Church lies nihilism.

09:44

Sasin:

The Slowdown Doesn't Affect Us. It Doesn't Affect Us Because We Have Increased Poles' Incomes and Stimulated Consumption in Recent Years.

- Our credibility is the best proof that we will deliver on what we say. Not only will this not cause negative consequences, but on the contrary, it will provide a very strong pro-development impulse. In these times we are entering, as Europe, as the world, in times of economic slowdown. This slowdown doesn't affect us, and it doesn't affect us also because we have managed to increase Poles' incomes and stimulate consumption in recent years. This is a very strong impulse to prevent us from falling into recession - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy".

09:48

Sasin on Minimum Wage: We Are Absolutely Convinced It Is Very Realistic

- We are absolutely convinced that it is very realistic. Firstly, because we have improved the state of public finances to such an extent that we can afford it, and in the non-public employer sphere, we have taken steps and actions that have resulted in much lower burdens for employers. For instance, we have reduced the CIT tax from 19% to 9% - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski in the Radio Plus program "Sedno Sprawy".

09:54

Sasin on Social Security Contributions Deducted from Income: A Clear Announcement from the Prime Minister. We Will Be Specifying All Our Announcements in the Coming Weeks

- There is a clear announcement from Prime Minister Morawiecki, also made at the convention, that we will be moving towards Social Security contributions being deducted from income - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).

- It was also clearly stated that we will now be precisely specifying all these announcements in the coming weeks. It is difficult to speak in detail during a convention, even one as large as this - added the Deputy Prime Minister.

10:03

Sasin:

We Will Not Accept Such Wide Salary Disparities Based on Location

- As the government, we will not accept such wide salary disparities depending on where people live. People living in smaller urban centers have the same right to earn a lot or more as those in big cities. We want to invest heavily in these less developed areas - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).

BlackRock, World's Largest Investment Firm, Increases Stake in Bank Pekao
BlackRock, the world's largest investment firm, has announced that it has increased its stake in Bank Pekao to over 5 percent. BlackRock announced this fact because, according to Polish law, any shareholder must publicly disclose when they acquire more than a 5 percent stake in a publicly traded company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The New York-based firm, which has offices in 30 countries and serves clients in over 100, has become the fourth-largest shareholder in Pekao, Poland's second-largest bank. The insurance company PZU S.A. is currently the bank's largest owner (20 percent of shares), followed closely by Polski Fundusz Rozwoju (Polish Development Fund), a state development institution (just under 13 percent). Through these two companies, which it controls, the Polish state holds a controlling stake in Bank Pekao. The third-largest shareholder in Pekao is the Italian bank Unicredit. According to the annual report of investment advisor Willis Towers Watson, BlackRock – which manages assets worth $6.84 trillion – is the largest investment firm in the world. The American company has held this title continuously since 2009. BlackRock's combined funds are worth more than the economy of Japan, the world's third-largest. Pekao itself stated that they view BlackRock's increased involvement as a positive assessment of the bank's potential. "I believe Pekao can be attractive to investors due to its high liquidity, the fact that we are well-capitalized, and that we generously share profits with shareholders," said Michał Krupiński, CEO of Bank Pekao. According to Krupiński, investors also positively assess the bank's strategy. "Most of them [our investors – editorial note] have an investment horizon of at least several years and are focused on building sustainable competitive advantages, not just those that increase profitability within a few quarters. They pay attention to banks' long-term ability to systematically pay dividends," added the CEO. As Pekao announced in a statement, currently 72 percent of stock analysts' recommendations for Bank Pekao shares are 'buy' recommendations.

Witczak on the Piebiak Case: If we don't receive documents from the Ministry within the next few days, we will take legal action

- The failure to provide us with documents from our parliamentary inspection is, of course, a clear signal that this government fears this information. In these documents, we could uncover even more shocking facts and have even more arguments for Zbigniew Ziobro to leave his post. The motion for a vote of no confidence against Ziobro will be considered on Wednesday, and the absolutely obstructive actions by the ministry are aimed at protecting Zbigniew Ziobro - said Mariusz Witczak during a press conference in the Sejm.

- In accordance with the procedure, as the 14-day deadlines I previously mentioned have been exceeded, we are submitting a request for these documents to be provided promptly. This is a so-called request for reiteration, and we are doing so according to the proceedings. If we do not receive these documents within the next few days, we will, of course, take legal action - he added.

12:34

Brudziński:

Demobilization is a Serious Threat from a Campaign Manager's Perspective. This is Our Main Task.
If you were to ask me what presents a very significant challenge and problem for me as campaign manager, it is obviously all these pitfalls that occasionally emerge. Starting with what's behind us, issues that largely captivated public opinion in July, there's the belief among some of our supporters and sympathizers, after analyzing, for instance, polls published in recent weeks, that everything is already settled. I repeat this often: God forbid we believe that everything is already decided, because we could fall into a level of arrogance and self-assurance like the former boss of the editor present here, who used to talk about a drunken nun on a pedestrian crossing – said the head of PiS's election staff, Joachim Brudziński, during a press breakfast with journalists. This is something that can be, from our perspective as campaign managers, very, very dangerous, namely demobilization, which entails the idea that since we're polling so high, there's no need to try anymore. This is our main task, and until the end, we will strive together to ensure these emotions and this determination do not wane – he continued.

12:39

Halicki on the Idea of Dividing the Masovian Voivodeship: They Are Trying to Punish the Residents of Masovia and Warsaw for Choosing Different Concepts than PiS
We are meeting with you today to warn, because this topic reappears with every election campaign. To warn against Law and Justice, which is trying to punish the residents of Masovia and Warsaw for choosing different concepts than Law and Justice, because Rafał Trzaskowski governs Warsaw, and in Masovia, a coalition of Civic Platform with PSL, meaning Marshal Struzik with the board, who also did not include representation from Law and Justice. Once again, the sword of the idea of Masovia into two voivodeships has appeared. Once again, we will hear that the capital of Masovia is to be in Siedlce, which President Kaczyński visited, or in Radom, if he is present there, or in Płock, and he will tell the people of Płock that there will be the new voivodeship capital. Meanwhile, Warsaw is to be punished with a new law - said Andrzej Halicki during a press conference in the Sejm.

12:59

Brudziński on Kidawa-Błońska's Nomination: Schetyna Realized It's High Time to Share Responsibility for a Potential Electoral Defeat, as Nothing is Decided Yet

- Grzegorz Schetyna has realized that it's high time to share responsibility for a potential electoral defeat, as nothing is decided yet. So, the idea with Marshal Kidawa-Błońska, and I'll return to this, presents a danger that, for us campaign managers – here I agree with Prime Minister Gliński – shatters our sleep, how to prevent this from demobilizing our supporters, how not to fall into the trap of believing that since they have such problems, everything is already settled. We are aware that the fragmentation of the opposition, consolidated in the May elections, also does not serve us. This, in turn, resulted from the d'Hondt method – said the head of PiS's election staff, Joachim Brudziński, during a press breakfast with journalists.

- There are many factors that can be decisive here. The results of Konfederacja, SLD, whether it will be at the expense of Civic Platform, whether they will drain votes from Civic Platform, or gain them from the side that did not turn out to vote in the May elections, all of this is being analyzed and calculated by us. But on the other hand, as we sometimes say, another gear must be engaged to carry these emotions and this result through to October 13th – he continued.

13:07

Brudziński on the Democratic Pact: We Never Truly Withdrew from These Ideas. We Will Have to Return to Them at Some Point

- We never truly withdrew from these ideas of a democratic pact [in the Sejm] that we spoke about, and I believe that's what President Kaczyński was referring to, and at some point, we will have to return to them, because that is what parliamentarism entails - said PiS election campaign manager Joachim Brudziński during a press breakfast with journalists.

13:12

Brudziński:

Our partner in seeking voter support today is not dancing to a tune from some Warsaw or Wrocław den, but debating with Poles

- Our partner today in this pursuit of voter support is not dancing to a tune from some den, be it in Warsaw or Wrocław, but rather debating with Poles. We had a debate in Lublin, and we will have one in Łódź. I do not foresee, in the foreseeable future, myself as campaign manager urging the Prime Minister or the President to engage in a debate with Grzegorz Schetyna, because in my assessment, it would serve to build up our opponent, and would in no way provide an electoral advantage or political gain – stated the head of PiS’s election campaign, Joachim Brudziński, during a press breakfast with journalists.

- Obviously, there will be debates organized by various media centers; they are already happening. Our representatives are participating in these debates. There will be a debate between campaign headquarters, and a candidate will also be present – he continued.

Dworczyk:

Pipeline on Pontoon Bridge Has Started

After ten days of very hard work, the pipeline [on the pontoon bridge] has started. More than half a thousand people worked on this project. Besides the army, besides the fire brigade, other services, there were representatives of companies, but above all, thanks to the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Polish Army. It would not have been possible without the coordination of all work by Wody Polskie (Polish Waters)” – said Minister Michał Dworczyk at a press conference.

Failure to Elect New Constitutional Tribunal Judges at the End of December 2019, Ziobro, Kempa, Szydło, and Morawiecki Face the State Tribunal. The Left Presents a 'Calendar for Restoring Rule of Law'
“For the Left, the constitution is a common good that we must protect from PiS’s encroachments. A constitution that is habitually violated erodes democracy, and democracy is threatened. The Left is fully aware that our constitutional order would not survive another PiS government, which is why from today until the end of the term, we will be informing about this threat. Our calendar for restoring the rule of law is calculated in years,” said former Deputy Sejm Marshal Wanda Nowicka.

“Our plan is spread over the two years 2019-2020. We want to end the impunity of politicians. In the second Sejm session, we want to amend the article of the law on the Constitutional Tribunal and introduce the possibility for judges elected in 2015 to take their oath before the Sejm Marshal. The end of December marks the end of the term for three judges. They will be replaced by those elected in 2015. Subsequent judges will be elected in accordance with the Constitution. We will file a motion to bring four individuals before the State Tribunal: Mr. Ziobro, Ms. Szydło, Ms. Kempa, and Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki, of course,” said Paulina Piechna-Więckiewicz at a press conference.

15:17

Schetyna on Zdanowska's Support for Trela: 'He's Her Deputy. I Won't Dictate Who She Trusts or Supports. Zdanowska Won't Run but Will Support All Civic Coalition Candidates.'
"Unfortunately, [Hanna Zdanowska] will not be running and cannot represent the Civic Coalition, but she will support all our candidates. [Tomasz Trela] is her deputy, and this is her decision [to support him]. I will not dictate who she trusts or supports. I am happy that she is the head of Civic Platform in the Łódzkie Voivodeship," said Civic Platform leader Grzegorz Schetyna at a press conference in Łódź.

15:26

Piebiak's Successor Appointed at the Ministry of Justice

- Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, at the request of Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro, today appointed Anna Dalkowska as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Justice. The new Deputy Minister of Justice is a doctor of legal sciences, a judge, and an academic teacher. In the ministry's leadership, she will be responsible for, among other things, administrative oversight of the judiciary, legislation concerning civil and administrative law, and international cooperation – the Ministry of Justice informed.

15:38

Budka:

I wonder how a PiS senator already knows the list number for the Sejm?

Borys Budka, a prominent figure in the opposition, has questioned how a senator from the Law and Justice (PiS) party could already be aware of the list number for their parliamentary candidates. This rhetorical question, posed on Twitter, suggests an accusation of premature knowledge or potential manipulation regarding the upcoming elections to the Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament). Budka's tweet implies that such early access to information about election lists is unusual and potentially indicative of irregularities, raising concerns about the fairness of the electoral process. The link provided points to a specific tweet by Budka, which likely elaborates on his concerns or provides context for this statement.

17:21

Komorowski on PiS's Proposals for Farmers: "Mr. Kaczyński Lacks Credibility, as He Once Suggested Abandoning Agricultural Subsidies for a Common Army"

- It is worth remembering that Mr. Kaczyński lacks credibility, because at one time information circulated in the German and Polish press that as Prime Minister of the then-government, he suggested in the German Chancellor's cabinet that agricultural subsidies should be abandoned in favor of a common army - said Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview".

17:29

Komorowski:

PiS Indirectly Admits It Made a Mistake by Reversing Pension Age Increase. Promising 13th and 14th Pensions Shows They Acknowledge a Looming Decline in Pension Value.

- Indirectly, PiS admits that it made a mistake by reversing this reform [concerning the retirement age]. By promising 13th and 14th pensions in the coming years, it acknowledges that Polish pensioners, as a result of their unwise actions, are facing an impending decline in the real value of their pensions - said Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

17:29

"Every Time I Look at This Photo from Saturday's PiS Convention, I Smile." PMM Comments on the Photo with "Jarosław's Cat Lovers"
I must admit to you that every time I look at this photo from Saturday's PiS convention, a smile appears on my face. And from what I know, it's not just me who is put in a good mood by "Jarosław's cat lovers" ?. I congratulate the President on his witty voters and both gentlemen on their inventiveness. You can be a role model for all voters on how to support your candidates with class - wrote Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Facebook.

17:32

Komorowski:

The Only Program for Young People's Housing Being Truly Implemented is Mine. The Credit Subsidy System. It's 1500 Apartments Annually.
The only program that is truly being implemented when it comes to housing for young people is my program. It's the credit subsidy system. That's 1500 apartments annually – said Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

17:39

Komorowski:

A Bachelor Lecturing Society on How to Live. I'd Advise Mr. Kaczyński to Stay Silent on the Family Model, He's Unbelievable

- When I recall my own election campaigns, especially the last one I lost, I remember that in right-wing or church circles, the fact of this kind of family model [man and woman] didn't exactly garner much praise. And now I see a bachelor being applauded in these circles, lecturing the rest of society on how to live. I'd advise Mr. Kaczyński to stay silent on this matter, because he's unbelievable. Let him live his own life and let others live theirs - said Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

19:48

Trzaskowski on Nominating Kidawa-Błońska: The Decision Was Made at the Right Time, as Evidenced by PiS's Complete Panic and Inability to React

- She is an absolutely perfect candidate [Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska]. The decision was also made at the right time, as evidenced by the complete panic within PiS, who are utterly clueless on how to react. Let's wait and see, there will certainly be an effect [in the polls]. I see [the panic] in their statements because PiS politicians simply don't know what to say. They probably haven't received their talking points for the day, while Kidawa-Błońska is precisely the answer to what Poles want. They want calm, balance, and to talk primarily about policy, and it will be very difficult for PiS to discredit her because everyone simply has immense respect for her - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program „Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

19:52

Trzaskowski on nominating Kidawa-Błońska for presidential elections: 'Far too early to even talk about it. There's no decision. No coalition talks about a candidate.'
'It's far too early to even talk about it [who will be the candidate in the presidential elections]. Right now, I'm focused on solving problems in Warsaw, and that's all that concerns me at the moment. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is currently the candidate for prime minister, and first, we need to win the parliamentary elections as Civic Coalition. Honestly, nobody is thinking about what will happen in a year,' said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the 'Gość Wydarzeń' program on Polsat News. 'There's no decision. There are no coalition talks regarding a presidential candidate,' added the Mayor of Warsaw.

19:54

Trzaskowski:

If an opposition coalition government is formed, there might be a place for Schetyna too

- The party leader [will be Grzegorz Schetyna, if Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska becomes Prime Minister]. We shall see. Being the party leader is a really big deal, and moreover, depending on how the government is formed, if Civic Coalition wins, if an opposition coalition government is constructed, then perhaps there will also be a place for Grzegorz Schetyna - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program 'Gość Wydarzeń' on Polsat News.

20:15

Kidawa-Błońska:

Divisions in Poland are so vast I fear in a few years no one will sit together at the Christmas Eve table. Looking at Polish politics, this is the last moment to stop it
- We want to win these elections, and if it's a chance for Poland to change, it's truly worthwhile. I want to say one more thing: programs are really important, but what is most important is that the divisions in Poland are so vast that I fear in a few years no one will sit together at the Christmas Eve table at all, and people will either be making little digs at each other or insulting each other. Looking at Polish politics, this is the last moment to stop it - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Civic Coalition's candidate for prime minister, on Kropka nad I.

20:20

Wiśniewska:

Indeed, tomorrow can be better because PiS talks about a welfare state. Our government is a good time for Poland.

- Indeed, tomorrow can be better because the Law and Justice party talks about a welfare state. Our government is a good time for Poland. We are the guarantor that the current reforms that have been implemented give us a strong foundation to, in the next term, should Poles trust us, raise the minimum wage first to PLN 3,000, and in 2023 to PLN 4,000 - said Jadwiga Wiśniewska in an interview with Danuta Holecka on the TVP Info program "Gość Wiadomości".

20:27

Kropiwnicki:

The VAT Gap, Contrary to what PiS Claims, is Unfortunately Growing
Our program, which is truly well-calculated, amounts to approximately PLN 80 billion. This money is in the budget, and further tightening of VAT collection is crucial, because the VAT gap, contrary to what PiS claims, is unfortunately growing – said Robert Kropiwnicki in an interview with Danuta Holecka on the TVP Info program „Gość Wiadomości”.

20:27

Kidawa-Błońska:

"Over the last four years, I've traveled a lot, I've been almost everywhere, and people asked: Can't you really start talking to each other?"
"Over the last four years, I've traveled a lot, I've been almost everywhere, and people asked: Can't you really start talking to each other? And this is terribly important, because you can't think that anything will change in Poland if we don't behave normally and talk to each other," said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, the Civic Coalition's candidate for Prime Minister, on Kropka nad I.

Kidawa on Schetyna: It's his great responsibility that he was able to step back and say: yes, we are trying a different solution, because we really must win these elections
- Grzegorz Schetyna is a responsible politician and wants these elections to end in victory. It's his great responsibility that he was able to step back and say: yes, we are trying a different solution, because we really must win these elections. We have another month ahead of us, we will be everywhere people want to talk to us - said Małgorzata Kidawa Błońska, Civic Coalition's candidate for Prime Minister, on Kropka nad I.

WYDARZENIA POLSATU

-- ONE MONTH AND FOUR DAYS TO THE ELECTION - announcement.

-- THE LATEST POLL SHOWS NO EFFECT FROM MAŁGORZATA KIDAWY-BŁOŃSKA FOR NOW - Bogdan Rymanowski.

-- THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE LEFT HAS SHARPLY DEMANDED ACCOUNTABILITY - Dariusz Ociepa.

-- FOR NOW, THE SEJM HAS A MOTION NOT FOR A TRIBUNAL, BUT TO REMOVE MINISTER ZIOBRO - Ociepa continues.

-- ACCORDING TO MARSZAŁEK WITEK, THE MOTION SHOULD BE ADDRESSED DURING THIS WEEK'S SESSION - Ociepa: But it's not on the Sejm's schedule.

-- GRZEGORZ SCHETYNA: I see that there are efforts in the Prime Minister's Chancellery to prevent a debate on this matter. We won't let this slide either. This is a violation of the Sejm's rules, it's a crime.

-- THE OPPOSITION CAN ONLY THINK ABOUT ACCOUNTABILITY IF IT SUCCEEDS IN REMOVING PIS FROM POWER - Ociepa.

-- THE LATEST POLL INDICATES, HOWEVER, THAT PIS IS HOLDING STRONG - Ociepa continues.

-- THE POLL WAS CONDUCTED AFTER THE COALITION CHANGED ITS PRIME MINISTERIAL CANDIDATE - Ociepa.

-- FOR NOW, THE KIDAWY EFFECT IS NOT VISIBLE - Ociepa continues.

-- THERE IS NO END IN SIGHT FOR THE AMBER GOLD CASE; THERE IS NO CHANCE OF SPEEDING UP THE VERDICT IN THE MOST TALKED-ABOUT SCANDAL OF THE DECADE.

FAKTY TVN

-- ON THE FRONT PAGE OF FAKTY, THE EMILIA AND THE HATERS CASE DESCRIBED BY GW: Nine names and nine leads. Emilia lists in "Gazeta Wyborcza" who formed the "Kasta" group, and these are people from Zbigniew Ziobro's ministry and the new National Council of the Judiciary (KRS). Regarding the hate speech allegedly originating from the ministry, there is still no investigation, although there is a long list of questions. Civic Platform MPs cannot obtain the documents, so they are announcing they will go to court.

-- 30 THOUSAND PEOPLE DIE DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS FOR HEALTHCARE - in the preview: Poland is a sick country, doctors alarm, because it is not healthy if 30,000 people die annually due to lack of funds in healthcare. There are strong numbers and a powerful TV spot intended to open politicians' eyes and serve as shock therapy before the elections.

-- MAREK NOWICKI ON CONCERN: According to doctors, politicians are playing with the health of Poles. They have produced a spot calling for a manifesto to be signed and aiming to put pressure on those who wish to govern.

-- BUKIEL'S APPEAL FOR CROSS-PARTY COOPERATION: This is a real problem and it affects everyone. It affects Civic Platform voters, PiS voters, and the Left voters alike. Therefore, addressing this problem, as my colleagues mention here, should be cross-party. Stop arguing, ladies and gentlemen, because people, as the All-Polish Trade Union once wrote on billboards, are truly dying in queues.

-- A JUDGE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCING THE VERDICT IN THE AMBER GOLD CASE FOR MONTHS.

-- KIDAWY IS NOT IN THE FOREFRONT BECAUSE SHE ENTERED THE CAMPAIGN LATE - IN THE PREVIEW: The candidate is here. The question is - what next? After winning the election, she is to be number one in the government, but within the party, she is not in the forefront. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in a new role enters the midst of the campaign and is supposed to act like a magnet for voters.

-- ONE ABSENCE AT THE PRESENTATION OF THE ŁÓDŹ LIST WAS IMMEDIATELY NOTICEABLE - THE ABSENCE OF MKB - Krzysztof Skórzyński.

-- MKB'S CAMPAIGN ACTIVITY IS NOT IMPRESSIVE SO FAR - Skórzyński.

-- FOLLOWING FRIDAY'S APPEARANCE, IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE ANY ACCELERATION, AND THERE ARE ONLY 34 DAYS LEFT UNTIL THE ELECTION - Skórzyński.

-- THE EFFECT OF FRESHNESS WILL GIVE US DYNAMISM FOR THE FINAL MONTH OF THE CAMPAIGN - Sławomir Nitras.

-- THE OFFICIAL OPTIMISM OF CIVIC PLATFORM ACTIVISTS COLLIDES WITH WHAT MANY PEOPLE SAY UNOFFICIALLY, WHICH IS ABOUT PIIS'S ACCELERATED CAMPAIGN AND THE OPPOSITION'S CAMPAIGN JUST GAINING MOMENTUM - Skórzyński.

-- IT IS AN OPEN SECRET THAT THE IDEA WAS BORN AT THE LAST MOMENT. WHEN PIIS WAS RELYING ON SZYDŁO, THEY DID IT 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION AND TURNED A SECOND-TIER POLITICIAN INTO A FIRST-TIER FIGURE - Skórzyński.

-- IF WE HAD REGISTERED EARLIER, THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THIS ELEMENT OF SURPRISE AND VOTER MOBILIZATION - Nitras.

-- SCHETYNA, DEPENDING ON THE ELECTION RESULTS, IS CONSIDERING PUTTING MKB FORWARD IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS - Skórzyński.

-- THE LEFT WANTS TO RESTORE THE RULE OF LAW - IN THE PREVIEW: The Left wants to restore the rule of law and already knows what it will do if it has a majority in the Sejm. A vote of no confidence for Zbigniew Ziobro, Mateusz Morawiecki, Beata Szydło, and Beata Kempa. That's for starters. And then, the return of law and independence in the courts and the Constitutional Tribunal.

-- WE ARE PRESENTING A FEASIBLE PLAN TO RESTORE THE RULE OF LAW BY 2021 - Robert Biedroń.

-- REFORM MUST BE CONTINUED BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT ACHIEVED THE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL THIS TERM - SHORTENING THE TIME OF RULING - Jarosław Gowin.

-- AND THIS WAS MEANT TO BE KEY - Arleta Zalewska.

-- THE BEATING OF TOURISTS FROM ISRAEL.

-- THE PIPELINE ON THE VISTULA IS ALREADY WORKING: Sewage is now flowing in the right direction. The emergency pipeline is operational, although not yet at 100 percent. The Vistula can breathe, but when will "Czajka" be able to work normally?

I've lost trust in Prime Minister Morawiecki, while I try to maintain it for the people. I cannot trust a prime minister who deviates from the truth – even yesterday he said electricity prices aren't rising when they are.
- I've lost trust in Prime Minister Morawiecki, while I try to maintain it for the people. I cannot trust a prime minister who deviates from the truth, disrespects the opposition, doesn't listen to us, and doesn't want to talk to us. Politics is Teamwork, But If I Make a Decision, I Must Be Convinced and Won't Make It Otherwise

21:28

Kidawa-Błońska:

It's Important They Care for Themselves and Love Each Other, and They Decide Who Their Family Is, Not Mr. President Kaczynski
- I am outraged by Jarosław Kaczyński's statement. The President does not talk to people, he does not talk to mothers who had to flee their homes because they had a husband who beat them, and they protected their children. They are a family with these children, and this kind of division of people into model families... People's lives are very difficult, and it's important that they care for themselves and love each other, and they decide who their family is, not Mr. President Kaczyński - said MKB in Monika Olejnik's program.

21:32

Kidawa-Błońska:
