Wednesday's Political Agenda: Two PiS Conventions, Polish-Czech Intergovernmental Consultations, Stefaniak's Campaign Launch and Ku-bus Presentation, Leftist Conference, Regional Education Roundtables

In Warsaw, Polish-Czech intergovernmental consultations will take place, co-chaired by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. The welcome is scheduled for 11:30 AM, and the prime ministers' meeting for 11:45 AM. At 12:00 PM, a delegation meeting will be held, at 1:00 PM – a family photo, and at 1:20 PM – a plenary session led by the prime ministers. A press conference with the Prime Ministers of Poland and the Czech Republic is scheduled for 3:00 PM.

At 9:15 AM, PSL spokesperson Jakub Stefaniak, along with his team, will launch their election campaign. The program includes, among other things, the presentation of the Ku-bus vehicle and a press conference. At 10:00 AM, a meeting of the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Self-Government will be held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

At 11:00 AM in Warsaw, a press conference by the leaders of the Left will take place concerning "climate and the catastrophic drought occurring in our country this year – which results, among other things, in low yields and dramatically shrinking water resources in Poland".

In Katowice (at 12:00 PM) and Opole (at 11:00 AM), regional education roundtables will be held with the participation of the Ministry of National Education (MEN) leadership. Dariusz Piontkowski, head of MEN, will participate in Katowice, and Deputy Minister Iwona Michałek in Opole. A briefing with the participation of Minister Piontkowski, Silesian Voivode Jarosław Wieczorek, and Silesian Education Superintendent Urszula Bauer is planned for 11:45 AM.

At 4:30 PM in Sieradz, a PiS election convention will take place with the participation of party leader Jarosław Kaczyński, and at 7:00 PM – in Piotrków Trybunalski.

Brudziński:

I Must Disappoint Journalists Supporting the Total Opposition. Jarosław Kaczyński is Doing Splendidly

“We are on our way. Today we are in Sieradz and Piotrków. Tomorrow Jarosław Kaczyński will be in Poznań and Konin. As we announced, Jarosław Kaczyński will reach all electoral districts. I must disappoint journalists who, in nervous agitation about ‘what has happened to Jarosław Kaczyński’, support the total opposition. Jarosław Kaczyński is doing splendidly” - said MEP Joachim Brudziński of PiS in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info.

07:39

Brudziński:

Our Campaign Roller Continues Steadily. We're Not Playing Schetyna's 'Little Theater' Written by His Hooligans or Media Allies. We're Implementing Our Strategy.

Work is underway to finalize the next installment of the PiS program, which we will present at the beginning of September. You could say that our campaign roller is steadily moving forward. We are sticking to our script. We are not playing in a little theater written by Schetyna's hooligans or his media allies. We are implementing our strategy” - stated PiS MEP Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info.

07:44

Brudziński on Applications to the Tribunal of State Following VAT Committee's Work: "We're Not Seeking Bloody Political Revenge; Horała's Statements Are Firmly Documented by the Committee's Findings"

"There must be fundamental justice and fairness. It's not as though we're seeking some kind of bloody political revenge. What Chairman Horała spoke about is firmly documented by the work of this committee," stated PiS MEP Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info.

07:57

Mitera:

Ms. Emilia contacted me by phone. She got my number from her husband
"She had phone contact [Ms. Emilia] because she got my number from her husband and, I would say, she tried, she declared, of course, even before I was the [KRS] spokesperson, she claimed she would arrange interviews for me. I suspect you are referring to those SMS messages with editor Raczoń" – stated Maciej Mitera in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". "I heard something like this: I'll arrange for you at CNN, BBC, ZDF. When I hear such declarations, even from a judge's wife, one starts to doubt a little. I assure you and our viewers that absolutely not [I didn't pay]. Neither did she have an engagement, nor did I ever in my life offer or give her even a zloty" – emphasized the KRS spokesperson. He stated that he was unaware of her hateful activities and did not provide her with any materials.

07:57

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Isolated Cases of Multiple Opposition Candidates for Senate in One District Might Occur, But Mostly We Won't Undermine Each Other
"We are not undermining each other in most districts, and that's how it will be. We will not undermine each other. In most districts, it will happen that we will not undermine each other, we will not put candidates against ourselves. In many places, this is happening quite naturally. We know in which districts we are strong. We field candidates there. Isolated cases may occur [of multiple opposition candidates for the Senate]. In the vast majority, we will not undermine each other. September 3rd is the final registration of candidates," said PSL chairman Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TOK FM Radio's Morning Program.

07:59

Mitera on Contact with Ms. Emilia: I Became Convinced Something Was Wrong

I became convinced that something was wrong. Now I have knowledge, I also have knowledge from Ms. Emilia. My suspicions turned out to be correct – stated Maciej Mitera in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego”.

Gowin on the Conference of Polish Ambassadors' Letter: I Don't Know a Democratic State Where Former State Officials Would Denigrate Their Own Country Like This. It's Shameful Behavior

- The appeal, a message from several dozen former ambassadors, is an unprecedented event. Not just in Poland, but I don't know of any democratic state where former state officials would denigrate their own country, and do so in the eyes of the president of the greatest superpower. This is shameful behavior. The individuals who signed this letter have thereby excluded themselves from the circle of people who possess honor in public life - said Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Eliza Olczyk on Polish Radio 24.

08:04

Gowin:

Agriculture Budget is Nearly 40% of the EU Budget. If a Polish Commissioner Takes This Portfolio, It Will Be Another Spectacular Success for Morawiecki

- The agriculture budget is nearly 40% of the EU budget. If a Polish commissioner takes this portfolio, it will be another spectacular success for Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki – said Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Eliza Olczyk on Polskie Radio 24.

08:09

Gowin on the "Hatergate" Affair: It Looked Like a Group of Judges Watched 'House of Cards' and Started Imitating Characters in the Style of 'Olsen Gang'

- It somewhat looked like a group, a small group of a few judges, watched the series 'House of Cards' and then, in the style of another series, 'The Olsen Gang,' started imitating the characters from the first film. However, I do not downplay this situation - Jarosław Gowin said in an interview with Eliza Olczyk on Polskie Radio 24.

08:13

Gowin:

Election Results Will Remain an Open Question Until the End

- The election results will remain an open question until the very end, and I believe the outcome will be decided by the level of voter mobilization. Especially among the so-called 'soft' voters. The hardline electorate of Civic Platform and Law and Justice will go to vote. How the less decided voters will behave will depend on the final weeks of the campaign - said Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Eliza Olczyk on Polskie Radio 24.

08:34

Müller:

Let's Wait Until September 7th. There Are Truly Several Interesting Program Proposals

- Let's wait until September 7th. There are truly several interesting program proposals, which will also be a significant impetus for economic development to remain at the current high level - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Henryk Szrubarz on "Sygnały Dnia" on Polish Radio Channel 1.

08:39

Müller:

The Agriculture Portfolio, From Poland's Perspective, is the Best Portfolio We Could Receive

- Wojciechowski is a very good candidate. More importantly, he is a candidate for a very good portfolio, because the agriculture portfolio, from Poland's perspective, is the best portfolio we could receive, that we would receive, if this concludes, after Poland's accession to the EU – said Piotr Müller in a conversation with Henryk Szrubarz in "Sygnały Dnia" on Radio Jedynka.

08:46

Fogiel:

Polls should be approached with caution. We are waiting for the one poll that truly matters, on October 13th

- Polls always have this problem: for some, they bring relief, for others, greater stress. That is why they should be approached with caution, and that's precisely what we do in PiS. We have already begun our election campaign, we are registering candidate lists in various districts, and we are traveling across Poland. Today, our leaders will also be meeting with the country's residents. We are persuading them to adopt our program and are waiting for the one poll that truly matters, on October 13th - stated Radosław Fogiel during the Siódma9 morning program.

- Of course, we are following them, but let's remember that a poll is a momentary reflection of the current trend, and drawing far-reaching conclusions from it is not always the best approach, which is why we treat them with caution. Of course, we acknowledge the results, but we are focusing on our work and implementing what we have planned - added the PiS deputy spokesperson.

08:54

Fogiel:

Kaczyński Doesn't Need to Comment on Every Matter, Especially as He's Been Focusing on Final Amendments to Our Electoral Program

- Jarosław Kaczyński doesn't have to comment on every matter, especially as he's been focusing on the final amendments to our electoral program, which will be presented soon. Besides, there was a swift reaction from his superior, Minister Ziobro. The matter has been resolved - stated Radosław Fogiel on the morning program Siódma9.

- I don't rule out [that Jarosław Kaczyński will refer to the so-called 'hatergate' affair], but the matter has essentially been concluded - emphasized the deputy spokesperson for PiS. He added that further actions belong to professional services.

10:34

Stefaniak Launches Campaign: "Parliament is my challenge." Our message will be "Poland, Regain Your Peace"
- This is truly my challenge. This building standing behind us is my challenge and my goal. I want to become a Member of Parliament to work for the citizens - said Jakub Stefaniak during a press conference. - This campaign is meant to be positive. Soon you will see a bus, some call it a 'bus-cubus'. This bus will reach everywhere possible in the eight districts around Warsaw - the PSL spokesperson continued. - Our message will be the slogan "Poland, Regain Your Peace," because we are lacking that peace today. We are already traveling and meeting people in various parts of Poland, and you can see how divided our country is. We don't want it to be divided. We want to offer a good alternative - added Stefaniak. The presentation of the first election spot is scheduled for Saturday.

10:35

Bartoszewski Backs Stefaniak: 'A Person of Great Energy and Knowledge, Especially Military Matters. He Should Be Defence Minister'

- I wanted to very warmly recommend the candidate, Mr. Jakub Stefaniak, for the Sejm in constituency 20. I had the opportunity to work with him for several months during the European Parliament campaign, and I must say he is a person not only of great energy, enthusiasm, and passion, but also of knowledge, especially when it comes to military affairs. Therefore, he should become the Minister of National Defence in due time – said Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski during a joint press conference with Stefaniak.

10:44

Sobolewski:

We Successfully Registered Lists in Five Constituencies Yesterday. We Already Have a Million Signatures of Support. Everything is Proceeding According to Plan, as We Set Out.

Yesterday, we began another stage of our campaign, namely the registration of candidate lists. Yesterday, we managed to register our lists in five electoral constituencies. We were the first in the country to register the PiS list of candidates for the Senate in constituency No. 2 in Wałbrzych. Today, I can say that we already have a million signatures of support. Everything is proceeding according to plan, as we set out. We are in the process of registration, we've shifted into a higher gear and are moving forward” - said the head of the PiS Executive Committee, Krzysztof Sobolewski, at a press conference.

11:20

Brudziński:

I am absolutely convinced of Wojciechowski's competence

Discussions [regarding Janusz Wojciechowski] are ongoing. Consultations are ongoing. I am absolutely convinced of Janusz Wojciechowski's competence, and the fact that this is a very good candidacy, today's attack by Gazeta Wyborcza on Wojciechowski, only strengthens me in this conviction” - said PiS MEP Joachim Brudziński at a press conference.

If Janusz Wojciechowski becomes the Polish Commissioner for Agriculture, I am convinced that he will at least try very intensively to improve what Kalinowski and Miller botched in Copenhagen during the accession process when Poland joined the EU” - he added.

11:25

Brudziński:

Charisma and Schetyna – A Classic Oxymoron. The Only Way to Stay Party Leader is to Dismantle the Party Internally, Relying on Random People.
"Charisma and Grzegorz Schetyna are a classic oxymoron. These are mutually exclusive terms. The only way to remain party leader is to dismantle the party internally, relying on random people. Who in their right mind would put someone – a woman whose blogging activity, considering her views and not the person herself, gives the impression of either a psychiatric hospital or a complete detachment from reality – at the head of a list? Such people are put forward so that politicians with a firmly established position leave the lists, leading to internal discussion and chaos," said PiS MEP Joachim Brudziński at a press conference.

11:27

Brudziński to Schetyna: Come out of your cave, Mr. Grzegorz, and explain the chaos on Civic Coalition lists!

- Today, President Kaczyński is traveling to Sieradz and Piotrków Trybunalski, as announced. As we stated, Jarosław Kaczyński will reach all electoral districts. Prime Minister Morawiecki already began his campaign tour last weekend. The absence of Jarosław Kaczyński on this tour caused nervous stirrings among some of the so-called 'total opposition' and certain media outlets: what happened that Jarosław Kaczyński, some wrote or said, has hidden himself, some even suggested his condition might not be good. Well, for now, we observe that Grzegorz Schetyna is the one hiding in a cave. Mr. Grzegorz, don't be afraid, come out of that cave and tell the public opinion why there is such chaos on the Civic Coalition's lists, why more and more well-known politicians from PO, present in parliamentary politics for many years, are leaving these lists with a bang and slamming doors - stated Joachim Brudziński at the press conference.

- I am referring, for instance, to former Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Elżbieta Radziszewska. Why are you hiding behind the backs of your young party colleagues, one might say media crusaders, who come out to the press tables every day and try to redirect attention, it must be said honestly, in some sympathetic media, of public opinion that on the organizational side of Platforma, PSL, SLD, they are also arguing. Just look at Monika Jaruzelska's recent statement, where she accuses Mr. Czarzasty of turning SLD into a subordinate of Ordynacka. They are arguing, squabbling, and in some media, one might get the impression that the total opposition is consolidated, full of energy and ideas. Where are the ideas? The idea is that every time Grzegorz Schetyna emerges from his cave and nervously touches his nose at a press conference, kissing the hands of extremely substantive female candidates who, in my opinion, given their views, would be more suited to a completely different specialization than political science. Grzegorz Schetyna is hiding because, for public opinion, which is perhaps most important for the voters of PO, the broadly understood opposition, and their sympathetic media, the party is like its leader. Hence all this nervous stir, this attempt to redirect public opinion - added the head of the PiS election staff.

11:27

Brudziński:

We have a daily campaign plan. We want to reach even the smallest municipality once again

- The head of Civic Platform's election staff accused of fabricating trolls. Silence in some media. We even hear that it's supposedly a PiS scandal. The devil dressed in a chasuble and rings the bell for mass with his tail. I want to say very clearly. We have a daily campaign plan. We, as the PiS staff, are implementing this plan. We want to reach even the smallest municipality once again. Our candidates are obliged to go down to the level of village councils, to talk to Poles. Sometimes to apologize, when the word "I'm sorry" should be said - stated Joachim Brudziński at a press conference.

11:28

Zandberg:

Next Year, The Left Wants to Invest PLN 6 Billion in Clean Energy Sources
Next year, The Left wants to invest PLN 6 billion in clean energy sources, but also in the modernization of transmission networks and building insulation. In this way, we are able to reduce emissions. We also want a ban on coal imports from abroad - said Adrian Zandberg during a press conference. The Left wants to introduce effectively functioning, universal drought insurance. We want to introduce a rule that the cost of drought insurance for small and medium-sized farms will be fully covered by the state - the leader of Razem continued. We want to introduce a rule that 20% of profits from forestry will be allocated to the so-called wildlife fund, which will allow for the restoration of wetlands, areas where nature can develop without human intervention - added Zandberg.

11:34

Zandberg on PM's Statement Regarding PJK as Prime Minister: I Thought it Would Be Difficult to Surpass Previous Levels of Sycophancy in PiS, But the Prime Minister Undoubtedly Succeeded

- I thought it would be difficult to surpass the previous levels of sycophancy in Law and Justice, but the Prime Minister undoubtedly succeeded in that - said Adrian Zandberg during a press conference.

11:35

Brudziński:

The Prime Minister spoke a sacred truth. I also believe Jarosław Kaczyński would be a better Prime Minister, but the political power, with Jarosław Kaczyński himself, decided that Mateusz Morawiecki would be Prime Minister today.

Jarosław Kaczyński is an acceptable leader and an undisputed leader of his own political environment” - said PiS MEP Joachim Brudziński at a press conference.

[Prime Minister Morawiecki] spoke a sacred truth. I also believe that Jarosław Kaczyński would be a better Prime Minister, but the political power, with Jarosław Kaczyński himself, decided that Mateusz Morawiecki would be Prime Minister today. The party that wins the election will decide who will be Prime Minister” - he added.

11:35

Brudziński:

Has anyone heard an 'apology' or any reaction from Schetyna to the accusations against Neumann? We're waiting another day for a response.
Has anyone among you heard the word 'apology' or any reaction from Grzegorz Schetyna to the accusations against the head of the parliamentary club, Sławomir Neumann? We are waiting another day for Grzegorz Schetyna's reaction. Has anyone heard a clear distancing from Grzegorz Schetyna and Civic Platform (PO) from the former PO Secretary-General, who is running for the Senate and faces charges, having left custody after posting a half-million zloty bail? I am referring to Stanisław Gawłowski. Has anyone finally heard the word 'apology' for MP Brejza, who was quietly removed from the Sejm election list and redirected to the Senate, and is accused of purchasing the Tor gateway back in 2014? - stated Joachim Brudziński at a press conference.

12:22

Civic Platform-KO Submits Bill to Separate Justice Minister and Prosecutor General Roles, Demands Ziobro's Parliamentary Mandate Be Revoked

- In a normal country, an independent prosecutor should keep politicians in check, but in Poland ruled by PiS, it is precisely politicians who direct the actions of prosecutors, and in PiS's Poland, it will be colleagues judging colleagues. This is a pathology and the downfall of the rule of law. It cannot be the case that another politician controls investigations into politicians, and therefore, in line with earlier announcements, today we are submitting a draft bill on the separation of the functions of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General. It will also be the subject of our further work, self-amendments, and consultations - stated Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz at a press conference.

- Concurrently, in connection with Article 103 of the Constitution, according to which a Member of Parliament's mandate cannot be combined with the function of a prosecutor, we will also submit a motion to the Marshal of the Sejm to revoke Zbigniew Ziobro's parliamentary mandate - added the PO-KO MP. According to the proposal, the Prosecutor General would be elected by the Sejm with a 3/5 majority. Candidates could be nominated not only by parliamentarians but primarily by legal communities, legal advisors, attorneys, and academic circles – all those involved in criminal policy.

14:23

Karczewski:

Morawiecki is a very good Prime Minister. Jarosław Kaczyński is the best, most effective politician
"I don't make rankings of politicians, and certainly not of PiS politicians. If I have to evaluate, I can say that if such a ranking were made, Jarosław Kaczyński would be the best, most effective politician. However, we are not doing a ranking. [Mateusz Morawiecki is the head of government] because he is a very good Prime Minister. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is an excellent Prime Minister. The best proof of this is that the budget for 2020 will be the first balanced budget in 30 years" – said Marshal Stanisław Karczewski in a conversation with journalists in the Senate.

14:26

Karczewski on Motion to Dismiss Ziobro: No Collective Responsibility – Not in Politics, Not Elsewhere

"There is no collective responsibility – not in politics, nor in any other activity" – stated Senate Marshal Stanisław Karczewski in a conversation with journalists at the Senate, when asked about the opposition's motion to dismiss Minister Ziobro.

14:29

Czerwińska:

Where is Grzegorz Schetyna? Where is his reaction to what happened in Inowrocław?

"Where is Grzegorz Schetyna's reaction to what happened in [Inowrocław]? Where is Grzegorz Schetyna's reaction to what MP Brejza was doing? There is neither a reaction nor Grzegorz Schetyna. I ask: where is Grzegorz Schetyna and his reaction?" - said PiS spokesperson Anita Czerwińska at a press briefing in the Sejm.

14:34

Czerwińska:

Voters will verify Minister Ziobro's position and deliver their verdict in the upcoming elections
"There are no plans in this regard [dismissal of Minister Ziobro]. Voters will verify Minister Zbigniew Ziobro's position and deliver their verdict in the upcoming elections. We will not support this motion [by Civic Platform to dismiss him]" - stated PiS spokesperson Anita Czerwińska at a press briefing in the Sejm.

14:38

Czerwińska to Journalists: This is the Decision of the Party Leadership, Headed by President Kaczyński, That Morawiecki is the Prime Minister. I Know It May Be Hard for You to Grasp That Someone is a United Team

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is a very good Prime Minister. This is the decision of the party leadership, headed by President Jarosław Kaczyński, that Mateusz Morawiecki is the Prime Minister” - said PiS spokesperson Anita Czerwińska at a press briefing in the Sejm.

I know it may be hard for you to grasp that someone is a united, consolidated team. For us, there is no such problem here” - she added, addressing the journalists.

16:14

Spychalski:

All Former Presidents and Prime Ministers Invited to September 1st Ceremony in Warsaw

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, President Andrzej Duda's advisor, Krzysztof Szczerski, announced during a press conference that all former presidents and prime ministers of Poland have been invited to the state ceremony in Warsaw. The event will take place on September 1st. "We have invited all former heads of state and heads of government, as well as their spouses, to participate in the state ceremony on September 1st in Warsaw," Szczerski said. He also added that the president had personally contacted all former presidents and prime ministers. "I am convinced that this will be a dignified commemoration of the anniversary," he stated. Earlier, the Presidential Office announced that on September 1st, the President would lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and participate in the state ceremony at Piłsudski Square. The main part of the ceremony will begin at 12:00 PM. The guest of honor at the event will be the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence.

17:14

Kaczyński:

We've Embarked on the Right Path and We're Sticking to It, But There's Still a Long Way to Go. Significant Effort is Needed for Poland to Reach its Full Potential.

- We've reached a point where we need to summarize almost four years of our governance, because parliamentary elections are ahead of us, another decision by society, by the citizens. To put it very briefly, one can say this: We've embarked on the right path and we're sticking to it. But there's still a long way to go. Significant effort is still needed for Poland to look the way it should, the way it would if it had had more historical luck, both after 1945 and even after 1989. That's one truth. The second is that we can – I believe – be congratulated for having achieved a great deal - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS convention in Sieradz.

17:16

PJK:

We are striving to equalize per capita income in rural and urban areas

- We are striving, very consistently and with success, to achieve the same level of living, the average per capita income, the so-called disposable income per household member in rural and urban areas. We have taken a very significant step in this direction - said Jarosław Kaczyński during the PiS convention in Sieradz.

17:18

PJK:

A Special Convention on Rural Issues is Forthcoming

- There will be a special convention dedicated to the countryside, and there, matters [related to agriculture] will be discussed more extensively and in greater detail - stated Jarosław Kaczyński during the PiS convention in Sieradz.

17:23

Kaczyński:

Morawiecki's Apt Description. Poland's Budget No Longer a Cash Machine for Tax Criminals

- We have transferred over 80 billion zlotys to society through so-called social transfers. It has been transferred. And one can ask why those who were before us did not do so. After all, it builds social support. Well, partly because they didn't want to, because they believed that the interests of social groups other than the strongest were irrelevant, that they didn't need to be considered, but also because they didn't know how, because to implement such a program, to increase public sector revenues by PLN 150 billion in a short period, because I'm talking not only about the budget but also about the Social Insurance Institution (FUS) and other funds, you simply have to know how to govern. Prime Minister Morawiecki used, I believe yesterday, a very apt description. Poland's budget has ceased to be a cash machine for tax criminals, for mafias. I repeat, very apt words, but to do this, one had to be a person or a group with no connections in this area, and there are probably doubts about that, given how easily and well it went before for those who committed abuses and crimes, and one must have the will and the ability to act. And we had and have that will and ability to act - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS convention in Sieradz.

17:25

Kaczyński:

All Signs Point to a Pole Becoming Commissioner for Agriculture. This Shows How Effective Our EU Policy Is
All signs point to a Pole, and a Pole from this very Łódź region, becoming Commissioner for Agriculture. This is one of the most important, perhaps the most important, commissioner's post - said Jarosław Kaczyński during the PiS convention in Sieradz. - I believe he should go through all the remaining procedures. The European Council's resolution is still needed, but there shouldn't be any problems. Then comes the European Parliament. It's a truly great thing, and it shows how effective our policy is within the European Union - added the PiS leader.

17:30

PJK:

We Must Have a Majority in Both Chambers for Swift and Efficient Progress

- We must have a majority in both chambers, because only then will it be possible to move forward quickly and efficiently. This, ladies and gentlemen, I say not because I am the head of this party, that I once worked in PC, but above all because I am Polish. This is what I wish for you, for this constituency, but above all for Poland - said Jarosław Kaczyński during the PiS convention in Sieradz.

18:08

Terlecki:

Key Policy Convention in a Few Days. We Will Present Our Program, Slogans, and the Final Campaign Formula

- A key event in a few days will be our policy convention. Everything indicates it will be on September 7th, and then we will present our complete electoral program - Ryszard Terlecki said in an interview with Małgorzata Raczyńska-Weinsberg on Polskie Radio 24.

- We will present the program, electoral slogans, and the final formula for this campaign. It will primarily be a proposal for Poles, on the one hand, continuing all that has been achieved, but on the other hand, developing it with further elements - added the head of the PiS parliamentary club.

Kaleta on Sewage Crisis: Trzaskowski Appointed Schetyna and HGW's People to Companies. We See the Results
A major sewage crisis has been ongoing in Warsaw since morning. Mayor Trzaskowski reported a problem, but after several hours, we know the crisis is far more serious. Minister Kowalczyk informed at a press conference that the problems with sewage transmission in Warsaw to the Czajka wastewater treatment plant have been ongoing since yesterday, yet the public is only now being informed. 3,000 liters of sewage per second from left-bank Warsaw are flowing into the Vistula, and residents living several kilometers away are unaware or have very delayed information. This is very concerning. Of course, Rafał Trzaskowski should make every effort as soon as possible to ensure this failure is rectified quickly. Minister Kowalczyk assured that if government support is needed in this regard, the government will of course provide it. Nevertheless, we cannot remain indifferent. We are dealing with a major crisis, a threat of a large ecological catastrophe. Warsaw residents, who were walking their dogs along the Vistula this morning, were unaware of the danger they were in. I have received information that today, after obtaining all this information, the prosecutor's office ex officio has initiated an investigation into, among other things, this major ecological catastrophe threatening the health of many people. This proceeding will also examine aspects of the failure to fulfill all duties in connection with this gigantic failure. This is truly a serious crisis. We see what a large wave of sewage is flowing into the Vistula every second - stated Sebastian Kaleta at a briefing. He added:
"Despite this great crisis, we must realize who manages MPWiK in Warsaw. We must ask ourselves why this failure, this catastrophe, has occurred. Prominent Civic Platform activists are in the management of the MPWiK company. Rafał Trzaskowski, and previously Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, and as we can see, Grzegorz Schetyna are proceeding not based on competence, but on political connections. Jarosław Jóźwiak, dismissed for the reprivatization scandal, is the chairman of the supervisory board. Tomasz Mencina, the mayor of Bielany, also a Civic Platform activist, is a board member. Ludwik Rakowski, a Civic Platform councilor of the provincial assembly, is also in the company's management. Elżbieta Lanc, a former candidate in the local elections for Civic Platform. She is in the company's management. Rafał Trzaskowski has entrusted such an important matter to incompetent people. I have no doubt about that. Because the Czajka wastewater treatment plant is the largest investment in Warsaw. It cost 3 billion PLN, was commissioned barely 6 years ago, and we have such a gigantic failure."
- I would like to emphasize that the matter of this failure shows how the Civic Platform manages municipal companies - he continued. - Rafał Trzaskowski has appointed companies with people from Grzegorz Schetyna and Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz. We see the results - he stressed. https://twitter.com/OzdobaJacek/status/1166704126446768133 https://twitter.com/sjkaleta/status/1166736215850258433

18:10

Terlecki:

It's clear that if the opposition wins, they will start tampering with the retirement age and think about limiting the 500+ program

- It's clear that if the opposition wins, even though they deny it today, they will start tampering with the retirement age and think about how to limit the 500+ program - said Ryszard Terlecki in an interview with Małgorzata Raczyńska-Weinsberg on Polish Radio 24.

Fogiel:

Why did Trzaskowski hide information about the sewage treatment plant failure and waste flowing directly into the Vistula for so long? Well, as someone who once fixed a door pane with tape, he probably hoped it would fix itself.

Schetyna:

I understand Brudziński's concern stems from having to hide Kaczyński for two weeks to avoid him commenting on Ziobro's future

- The campaign will truly begin after the candidate lists are registered. We are very intensively collecting signatures. I understand that Brudziński's concern stems from the fact that they had to hide President Kaczyński for two weeks, so he wouldn't have to comment on what's next with Zbigniew Ziobro – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Events and Opinions" on Polsat News. He added that no one can hide him in a cave.

Schetyna:

Tomorrow I plan a good, short national board meeting to finalize the Civic Coalition's Sejm and Senate lists

- These are not debates, these are final decisions. Sometimes some people are not happy with the positions they received in this first round, sometimes they resign. Tomorrow I plan a good, short national board meeting to finalize the Civic Coalition's Sejm and Senate lists - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Wydarzenia i opinie" program.

Radziszewska Declined My Offer, Citing Other Commitments; She Won't Run for Sejm – A Pity
Yes, [Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski] is a candidate for Civic Coalition. We are collecting signatures for his candidacy, as well as for other candidates in Warsaw and across Poland – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions) program.

[Elżbieta Radziszewska] had a regional offer to be in third place. I also proposed the second position to her. She did not accept it, citing her desire to engage in other activities and dedicate herself to them. She will not run for the Sejm. It's a shame, because I've known Radziszewska for years. We were in the Sejm together from 1997, and her experience and tenacity are a loss. She was a very good MP – added the PO chairman.

Schetyna on Balanced Budget: A Political Sham. It's the Demise of OFE, Shifting Costs onto Local Governments. It's Actually a War Between the Government and Local Authorities

- [Hearing about the balanced budget, I thought] that it's a political sham, like all the promises and things that Morawiecki and the entire PiS policy of recent years have been doing. It's evident where these funds are being taken from – it's the demise of OFE, taking, shifting costs onto local governments, in a very tangible way diminishing their independence and limiting investments. It's actually a war between the government and local authorities – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

For 29 Hours, Mayor Trzaskowski, Part of Schetyna's Team, Concealed and Hid This Matter. Only Today at 10:20 AM Did He Inform the Voivode, and at 10:23 AM State Services Took Action.
- For 29 hours, the integrated administration and relevant services were not informed of the threat. For 29 hours, Mayor Trzaskowski, part of Schetyna's team, concealed and hid this matter. Only today at 10:20 AM did he inform the voivode, and at 10:23 AM state services took action - said Paweł Szefernaker to Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News.

Sawicki:

Of Course We Will Support Janusz Wojciechowski

- Janusz Wojciechowski has good political preparation, because he is a former member of ZSL and a prosecutor and judge back in the 90s. He is also a former chairman of PSL. While he is not a farmer, he knows about agriculture. He served three terms on the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture, and he was also the vice-chairman of the agriculture committee. In my assessment, among PiS politicians, he is currently the best prepared person to hold this function. We will cheer him on - said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

- Of course we will support Janusz Wojciechowski. Moreover, PSL MEPs, regardless of which option proposed Polish candidates for important functions in the EU, have always supported Polish candidates - added Sawicki.

Schetyna:

We Will Force a Debate on Ziobro's Dismissal

We Live in One Country, and if There's No Threat in Warsaw Today, It Doesn't Mean There Won't Be One in Płock Tomorrow, as This Fecal Matter Will Spread Further
- Recently, there was a meeting between the Mazovian Voivode and all local government officials from the voivodeship, and there was a request to immediately report such threats. Schetyna:

Brejza is a Target for Destruction. I Will Defend Him

- What can Neumann do? It's an election campaign, he has sued those who defamed him. He will fight to have his financial statement recognized - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

- I believe that Krzysztof Brejza is absolutely the object of a massive attack by public media. Him, his wife, his father, his family, because he is the head of the Civic Platform's campaign staff, he is a target for destruction. Therefore, I will defend him and I will not give up - added the PO chairman.

Szefernaker:

They Say if There's No Problem in Warsaw, There's No Problem, Because They Disdain People in Other Parts of Poland. The Minister of Health and Chief Sanitary Inspector Will Be in Płock Tomorrow
- Tomorrow, the Mazovian Voivode will convene a crisis staff meeting in Płock in the morning hours, because these feces will flow further and this wave will reach there. The fact that Civic Platform says there is no problem because there is no problem in Warsaw shows how they disdain people in other parts of Poland. – said Paweł Szefernaker to Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News.

Szefernaker:

50% of Water in Płock is Drawn from the Vistula. They're Taking Selfies with Partners Like Warsaw's Vice-Mayor in Bed, Creating Diversity Trams and Relaxation Zones, But Can't Deal with Such a Situation
- The Chief Sanitary Inspector, the Minister of Health, and the Minister of Environment must be involved. 50% of the water in Płock is drawn from the Vistula; we cannot close our eyes and pretend there is no problem. They're taking selfies with partners like Warsaw's Vice-Mayor in bed, creating diversity trams and relaxation zones, but they can't deal with a situation like the one that happened in Warsaw – said Paweł Szefernaker on Polsat News with Piotr Witwicki.

Schetyna Claims It's Not a Political Issue, Yet What Impact Does a 'Tram of Diversity' Have on People's Lives in Warsaw? Politicians Are Appointed to Solve People's Problems. Schetyna's Team Allowed Sewage to Flow into the Vistula.
- Grzegorz Schetyna says this is not a political issue, yet what impact does a 'tram of diversity' traveling through Warsaw have on people's lives? Politicians are appointed to solve people's problems. Schetyna's team has allowed sewage to flow into the Vistula. It's best to say you have no influence over anything - said Paweł Szefernaker on Piotr Witwicki's show on Polsat News.
