Gasiuk-Pihowicz on PiS MPs' Motion to the Constitutional Tribunal Regarding Support Lists for KRS Candidates: Logical Absurdity, Legal Lie, and Preparation of Political Ammunition for PiS
The motion by PiS MPs to the Constitutional Tribunal is intended to block, at all costs, the execution of the Supreme Administrative Court's ruling, the disclosure of judges' support lists for the National Council of the Judiciary. Once again, PiS is trying to use the so-called Constitutional Tribunal for its own, party, political objectives. PiS MPs have already used the Tribunal to eliminate provisions that are inconvenient for them, which form the basis for rulings by independent courts” - stated PO Vice-Chairman Borys Budka at a press conference in the Sejm - “The Constitutional Tribunal has no right to retroactively invalidate rulings of independent courts”.
“We demand from Madam Marshal that she publish the support lists for the new, politicized National Council of the Judiciary as soon as possible. The motion filed by PiS politicians to the Constitutional Tribunal is an absolute logical absurdity, a legal lie, and is solely aimed at preparing political ammunition for PiS politicians. It clearly shows how the PiS state operates. We have institutions that are racing to read, to listen to the expectations of Nowogrodzka [referring to the headquarters of the ruling party]” - added Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz from PO.
