The Biggest Crisis in Drug Availability in Poland's History. Kidawa-Błońska: Lives Cannot Be Saved in Poland

"In the 21st century in Poland, people cannot be treated, their lives cannot be saved, because they lack the most important thing that can give them relief – medication. They leave the pharmacy, throw up their hands, unable to continue their treatment. The situation is dramatic" - said Sejm Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a press conference.

"Over 500 medications are missing. These are very important medications. This is the biggest crisis in drug availability in Poland's history. There are shortages of vaccines for children and adults. People come to us and say they received one dose of the measles vaccine and the second is unavailable in pharmacies. There are shortages of medications for asthma patients, and insulin for people with diabetes. It's a major crisis, and the Ministry is not reacting. The Ministry should immediately conduct an emergency purchase and an audit of drug availability" - added the head of Civic Platform's staff, Krzysztof Brejza.
