- The supervisory board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has just concluded its meeting. It was convened at my request because President Kazimierz Kujda submitted his resignation from the post of president to me. I accepted this resignation and requested the supervisory board to initiate a competitive procedure to appoint his successor - stated Henryk Kowalczyk in a conversation with journalists.

- I wish to emphasize, and I also stressed this very strongly at the supervisory board meeting, that I appreciate President Kujda's immense contributions in terms of the substantive management of the national fund and the excellent utilization of European funds. I collaborated with the president over the past year as Minister of the Environment, but also earlier as head of the Government Legislation Centre. Here, I express great appreciation for his substantive work at the fund - added the Minister of the Environment. As he emphasized, Kujda's decision to resign was a personal one.
