Czarzasty on the Tape Scandal: Some were condemned by PiS when tapes removed the Platform from power, others are condemned now. In both cases, it's the same circle.

What strikes me about these tapes is that the two sides involved are, in fact, quite friendly with each other. They are two circles that share common roots,” said the head of SLD, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, on “Śniadanie w Polsat News.”

“Some were condemned by PiS when tapes removed the Platform from power, others are condemned now. In both cases, it's the same circle. I will worry if individuals close to me start appearing on these tapes, which they won’t. Generally, these are the same two circles,” he added.

Neumann:

PiS faces a major problem with Morawiecki. Jarosław Kaczyński has this problem. The issue is amplified with only two weeks of campaigning left. He can do nothing. He must defend, deny everything.

PiS faces a major problem with Morawiecki. Jarosław Kaczyński has this problem. The issue is amplified with only two weeks of campaigning left. He can do nothing. He must defend, deny everything. Mateusz Morawiecki gorged himself on octopus at ‘Sowa i Przyjaciele’. He wanted to give 50 thousand, not from his own money, but from the bank” - said Sławomir Neumann, head of the Civic Platform club, on Polsat News.

These are elements that completely destroy the image of Morawiecki, who has been built up alongside Kaczyński in recent years. He is a man who is a hard liberal” - he added.

10:01

Sasin:

It's Clear Whose Interests Morawiecki Challenged. It's a Grand Coalition, Highly Influential, with Vast Resources, Aiming to Destroy Morawiecki Today

It is clear whose interests Mateusz Morawiecki challenged. He challenged the interests of thieves, banksters, and the VAT mafia, but he also challenged the interests of foreign capital that has been exploiting Poland in recent years, including large foreign companies that did not pay taxes and now do. This is a grand coalition, highly influential, with vast resources, that wants to destroy Mateusz Morawiecki today because he cut off huge deals” - stated Minister Jacek Sasin on “Breakfast on Polsat News”.

10:22

Liroy on Legionowo: A Torpedo is Needed to Sink Those Rubenesque Gentlemen Who Have Held Power for Over a Decade, Several Terms
- We need to send a torpedo to sink those rubenesque gentlemen who have been in power for over a decade, for several terms. It's good that it's coming to an end, 4 terms, I see how it corrupts my region - said Piotr Liroy Marzec in Woronicza 17.

10:26

Stachowiak-Różecka:

This is an ongoing crisis for PO politicians. Poles are remembering who the real heroes of these recordings were.
- This is an ongoing crisis for PO politicians. Poles are remembering who the real heroes of these recordings were. The recording with Mateusz Morawiecki was known, he was a private individual then. And now Morawiecki has harmed many groups benefiting from the leaky VAT. This work is truly enormous, by their deeds you will know them - said Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka on TVP Info.

10:27

Neumann on Tusk's Appeal for Reconciliation: It Would Be Nice to March Together, But I Can't Imagine Marching with People Who Carry Xenophobic Slogans and Wave Their Hands in a Fascist Salute in Warsaw

With all due respect to Donald Tusk, I cannot imagine that people who today protect nationalists, who have not settled accounts for last year's November 11th march, where women were beaten during the march by the prosecution, which is subordinate to a PiS politician, Zbigniew Ziobro, and then dismiss the case. It would be nice to march together, but I cannot imagine marching with people who carry xenophobic slogans and wave their hands in a fascist salute in Warsaw. PiS protects these circles and wants to demonstrate with them. I think Donald Tusk also cannot imagine this” – said Sławomir Neumann, head of the Civic Platform club, on Polsat News.

10:30

Wenderlich:

Morawiecki's Words About Immigrants, That We'll Have to Shoot, Frightened Me
- Let's consider who controls a large portion of the tapes. Morawiecki's words about immigrants, that we'll have to shoot, frightened me. If someone utters such words, I am afraid of such a person who utters such hideous words - said Jerzy Wenderlich on Woronicza 17.

10:32

Ścigaj:

Tusk's words are absolutely unbelievable to me, because Tusk and Kaczyński, driven by personal animosities for many, many years, have divided and quarrelled Poland.

Donald Tusk’s words are absolutely unbelievable to me, because Donald Tusk and Jarosław Kaczyński, driven by personal animosities for many, many years, have divided Poland, quarrelled Poland, carefully selecting soldiers whom they pay with taxpayer money, who are meant to emotionally divide Poles so they participate in their war” – said Agnieszka Ścigaj from Kukiz’15 in Polsat News.

10:36

Neumann:

Grabiec said nothing wrong, while Smogorzewski said many foolish things and is no longer in the Civic Platform. Simply put. The matter is closed.

Jan Grabiec said nothing wrong, while Smogorzewski said many foolish things and is no longer in the Civic Platform. Simply put. The matter is closed. Everything else is irrelevant now. He is running with his own committee. There is no other way the Civic Platform can punish him. It was unwise, foolish. Jan Grabiec arrived at the end of this convention” – Sławomir Neumann from Civic Platform told Polsat News.

10:39

Sasin to Civic Platform: Smogorzewski Left Not Because of His Behavior, But Because It Was Revealed. You Saw No Problem for Two Weeks. Grabiec Was There. Didn't He Tell You?

Defense by attack. When you have no arguments, then PiS is bad. The argument that is meant to cover all of Civic Platform's wrongs is the fight against PiS. PiS is bad. This is not surprising. Roman Smogorzewski left Civic Platform not because he behaved in that way, but because it was revealed publicly. You saw no problem with it for two weeks. Grabiec was there. Didn't he tell you? He sat there, laughed, chortled when Smogorzewski addressed women in a disgusting, sexist manner” – said Minister Jacek Sasin on Polsat News.

10:50

Mucha on VAT memo: This is a gigantic scandal. This money could have been used for social programs, and we heard there was no money
- I heard Minister Kwieciński's statement that we lost the equivalent of EU funds in that period due to the deficit in VAT application. The VAT issue is incomparable to anything else, it is a gigantic scandal. This money could have been used for social programs, and we heard there was no money - said Paweł Mucha on Woronicza 17.

10:55

Sasin on PMM Tapes: Nothing in Them Compromises the Prime Minister
We are dealing with a recording that has been known for years. This is not any new material, it has been known for years. In this sense, it is indeed a reheated matter, in which there is nothing that would compromise the prime minister in any way - stated Jacek Sasin on TVN24's "Kawa na ławę". He added that the tape scandal is a Civic Platform scandal.

11:19

Jakubiak:

Tusk Should Not Unite a Nation He Himself Divided

- I want to say that Mr. Tusk, as one of the few, should not talk about this topic. He should not, at this moment, unite a nation he himself has divided - stated Marek Jakubiak on TVN24's "Kawa na ławę" (Coffee on the Bench).

12:13

Jaki:

Building the "District of the Future" Will Be My Third Decision in the First Week of Office If Elected Mayor of Warsaw

- I would like to continue the social contract that I intend to forge with the residents of Warsaw, which will outline the decisions I will make in the first week of my term if I become the Mayor of Warsaw – stated Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

- Today, the time has come for the third decision I will make in the first week of my term. This decision will be the construction of the "District of the Future" – informed the PiS candidate. – If I become the Mayor of Warsaw, I will proceed with building the "District of the Future". This will be my third decision made in the first week of my term – he said.

DoRze Announces Interview with PMM:

I'm Not Afraid of Mafia Attacks.

In the excerpt, Kaczyński responds to a question about whether he fears potential "mafia attacks," a term he himself has used in the past to describe alleged machinations by his political opponents.

"I am not afraid of anything," declared the PiS leader. "I am not afraid of threats, and I am not afraid of mafia attacks either. I know that this is a dangerous struggle, but I am not afraid."

The full interview, promising further insights into Kaczyński's perspectives on the current political landscape and his party's strategies, will be available in the upcoming issue of Do Rzeczy.

Jaki's Campaign Unveils Website #RafałAndHankaPromises

Patryk Jaki's campaign team has unveiled the website "ObiecankiRafałaiHanki" (Rafał and Hanna's Promises), which compares the electoral promises of the current capital's mayor, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, with those of Rafał Trzaskowski.

- All of these are things that PO (Civic Platform) already promised. If they promised and didn't keep their word, the question is whether Rafał Trzaskowski, who today is repeating Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz's promises, can be trusted - said Jaki's campaign manager, Oliwer Kubicki.

12:29

Kaczyński:

We Have a Grand Goal

- We have a grand goal. This grand goal is to ensure that Poland, our homeland, becomes a country equal to our neighbors to the west of our borders in terms of economic development and standard of living. But at the same time, it must retain its identity, values, faith, and thus its freedom – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the convention in Jasionka.

12:33

Kaczyński:

We Really Dislike the Word "Impossible"

- We really dislike the word "impossible" because we know that this word very often comes from people of ill will, as well as ordinary lazybones and incompetents. We have proven more than once that what was said to be impossible, turned out to be possible. Let's take the simplest examples: 500+, lowering the retirement age. That's why I know we won't build Dubai here, we won't be building skyscrapers a kilometer high. But asking ourselves the question: couldn't we, here on this land, on the borderlands of Podkarpacie, the closest ones, build a Polish Bavaria - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a convention in Jasionka.

12:57

"Warsaw for Everyone": Trzaskowski Releases New Campaign Spot

13:17

PMM:

We are striving to reform the Republic of Poland in a real, as visible as possible way
- I want to say that PiS is a Polish party. I also have such a deep, ecumenical hope that other parties will also be Polish parties, that they will follow in the footsteps of reforming the Republic of Poland. [Inspired by] those of our great ancestors, but also us, humble followers, patriotic contemporaries, who, within our capabilities, stumbling, certainly making mistakes, are striving to reform the Republic of Poland in a real, as visible as possible way - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a convention in Jasionka.

13:21

Schetyna:

Warsaw Became a European Metropolis Within a Decade. Thanks to Gronkiewicz-Waltz for That
“Warsaw is a beautiful and proud city where freedom is felt. It is a city that has become a European metropolis within a decade. I thank President Gronkiewicz-Waltz for that. Warsaw is a beautiful and proud city, people live here whose families have been Varsovians for generations, people who saw the enemy turn the Polish capital into ruins. And people live here who raised Warsaw from the ruins,” said PO leader Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition convention in Warsaw.

13:26

PM Morawiecki on VAT Hike: It Was a Real, Major Tax Increase at the Time, Alongside 21 Other Tax Hikes Imposed by Civic Platform and PSL on Poles

- What was said about the opposition before, in 2014, 2015, 2010, 2008? They're nice, well-dressed, they play football, right? Maybe they'll even learn some English. They don't do much, they have a lot of time, they can learn. But someone said: well, but these public finances are somehow weak, because they had to raise VAT, and let's remember, it was a real, major tax increase at the time, besides 21 other tax increases that Civic Platform and PSL inflicted on Poles. But the real, biggest one was that one. Well yes, but someone said: but they are nice, they play football. No. Indeed, the repair of the state must have the repair of the state's public finances at its source. And what was said about Law and Justice? They are indeed patriotic, many projects, the Cursed Soldiers, everything is beautiful. But they don't seem to know much about public finances, about counting, state mathematics. Meanwhile, it turned out that it is exactly the opposite. That one goes hand in hand with the other, that the will to repair public finances, the basic state institutions, goes hand in hand with patriotism and must go hand in hand and yields such results - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the convention in Jasionka.

13:27

Trzaskowski:

There are those who would like to impose the corset of their prejudices and fears on Warsaw's ambitions. We will never allow it. Despite manipulation, despite lies, we will win this battle.

I recall what Warsaw looked like over 40 years ago, when I was growing up in the Old Town. It was a communist city, grey, and after 10 PM, there was no one on the streets. Next to my tenement building were two that were still destroyed from World War II” - he said at

I have always felt immense pride in my city. Above all, in its great spirit. Stefan Starzyński spoke of this. And in the character of its people, the inhabitants of Warsaw, because this character has always been unyielding. There are those who would like to impose a certain corset of their prejudices and fears on these ambitions. We will never allow it. Despite manipulation, despite lies, we will win this battle” - he added.

13:29

Trzaskowski:

We prepared a solid program in conversation with Warsaw residents

In conversation with Warsaw residents, we prepared a solid program. They told us what needed to be changed, how to develop the city for the better. And they said that Warsaw has changed over the last 12 years, that there is a need for continuation of what has been done well, and for focusing on new priorities. And that is exactly what our program is about” - said Rafał Trzaskowski at the KO convention.

13:35

PMM:

Opposition Leaders Are Such 'Perekińczyki'

- 'Perekińczyk' is a person who approaches reality in a very perverse and hypocritical way. The opposition, opposition leaders, are such 'perekińczyki'. This is because when they were in opposition, they said: there is absolutely no money for these social programs, we are too poor. They raised taxes and allowed VAT mafias to run wild in our homeland, and today they say they will add even more to these social programs. That's precisely a 'perekińczyk'. And we want to follow the path of Lech Kaczyński, who in 2005, before the National Assembly, said that we must rebuild our state based on the idea of solidarity, justice, and honesty. These are the sources of our strength - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the convention in Jasionka.

13:42

Morawiecki:

Media Distorted Foreign Minister's Statement on Gas

- [The media] are such that yesterday, again, regarding gas, they distorted the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who simply said that gas would flow to us from various directions in the future, because we do not have sufficient domestic resources. Because of this, they changed his statement to mean that we would be taking gas from Nord Stream 2 - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a convention in Jasionka.

13:50

Trzaskowski:

Warsaw Must Stand By All the Vulnerable. We Must Speak of Solidarity, of Those in Need of Help, Who Are Marginalized by Today's PiS Government.

Warsaw must stand by all the vulnerable who need help. We must speak of solidarity, of those who need help and who are left on the margins by today's PiS government. We must stand by all minorities who are being pushed to the fringes of society” - said Rafał Trzaskowski at the Civic Platform (KO) convention.

Kwaśniewski Campaigns for SLD: Endorses Candidates, to Appear with Cimoszewicz and Belka at Warsaw Convention on Sunday

At the initiative of Aleksander Kwaśniewski, a meeting was held in Warsaw's Łazienki Park with the candidate for Mayor of Warsaw, Andrzej Rozenek, as well as the leaders of the lists for the city council and district councils.

- I wish the Democratic Left Alliance and its candidates well, and therefore I am here to support them - said the former president in Końskie, where he supported candidates from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. In Sosnowiec, he endorsed the candidacy of Tomasz Niedziela for the office of city mayor.

We have heard that in a week's time, the SLD Lewica Razem convention will take place in Warsaw's Szmulki district, where Aleksander Kwaśniewski will appear, as will Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz and Marek Belka.

13:57

Trzaskowski:

The Stakes of These Elections are Huge. This is a Test for All of Us, Whether We Can Face Lies and Manipulation

"The stakes of these elections are huge. This is a test for all of us, whether we can face lies and manipulation. These elections are also incredibly important because they show that we can all mobilize" - said Rafał Trzaskowski, the coalition's candidate for the capital's president, at the Civic Coalition (KO) convention in Warsaw.

15:00

Trzaskowski:

The choice is simple: do we want a metro or not, do we want new kindergartens or not

This is a direct quote from Rafał Trzaskowski, the then-Mayor of Warsaw and a prominent figure in Polish politics. The quote, originally shared on Twitter (https://twitter.com/trzaskowski_/status/1048909124145205248?s=21), presents a stark dichotomy regarding the future development of the city. Trzaskowski frames the decision as a fundamental one between progress and stagnation, or more specifically, between investing in crucial urban infrastructure like the metro and in essential social facilities like kindergartens, versus not pursuing these developments.

The statement is characteristic of political rhetoric that simplifies complex issues into easily digestible choices for voters. By posing the question in this manner, Trzaskowski aims to elicit a clear preference from the public, implying that those who oppose these specific development projects are also opposing the overall betterment of Warsaw.

The mention of the metro suggests a focus on public transportation and its expansion as a key indicator of a modern, functional city. The inclusion of new kindergartens highlights a commitment to families, education, and the city's future generations.

In the context of Polish politics, such statements often serve to mobilize supporters and draw clear lines between political camps. Trzaskowski, as a representative of the Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska), typically advocates for liberal, pro-European policies, which often include significant investments in urban infrastructure and social services. This quote aligns with that broader political agenda.

The simplicity of the choice presented – "we want X or not" – is a rhetorical device designed to make the opposition appear unreasonable or detrimental to the city's well-being. It forces voters to align themselves with specific, tangible benefits (metro, kindergartens) rather than abstract political ideologies.
