Schetyna: Kuchciński Turned the Marshal's Office into a Farce, and That's the Truth
"A motion for dismissal, a vote of no confidence, is never pleasant. Sometimes it's a pretext for debate, for expressing one's views, for highlighting differences of opinion. The dismissal of a Marshal is always something difficult, especially for someone who has also been a Marshal. We are doing this for the second time because the circumstances are special. We are talking about fundamental issues" - said PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, during the parliamentary debate on the motion to dismiss Marshal Marek Kuchciński.
As he explained:
"The Marshal of the Sejm, primus inter pares, first among equals, one of us, who manages and organizes work, but knows that they are elected by the Sejm, that they are accountable to the Sejm. Finally, the highest official of the most luminous Republic, the second person in the state. This is a great challenge for any individual""For the second time, I say this from this podium: Representative, Marshal Kuchciński has turned this function into a farce, and I say this with regret, but that is the truth. Does it have to be the case that a politician with experience working in the Presidium of the Sejm, in the Convention of Seniors, who worked with us, saw how parliamentary democracy should function, how the opposition representatives should be treated. Unfortunately, he has learned nothing from us" - he added.
