Round Table on Stadium Safety with Prime Minister Morawiecki Today
Today, a Round Table on the Situation at Stadiums with Prime Minister Morawiecki
Today at 2:00 PM at the PGE Narodowy stadium, a so-called "Round Table - Football in Poland. Development and Safe Stadiums" will take place. The aim of the meeting will be to discuss the prospects and opportunities for the development of football, the national sport for Poles.
- There are many challenges facing those involved in sports. The performance of the senior national team does not reflect the level of Polish football, especially at the club and amateur levels. The domestic Ekstraklasa currently ranks only 18th in the UEFA rankings, and Polish youth are avoiding physical activity. An important element of the meeting will, of course, be a discussion about safety in Polish stadiums – the head of government emphasized this in an interview with RMF FM. The Prime Minister is concerned with the comprehensive development of sport and stimulating sports activity among Poles – emphasize sources speaking to 300POLITYKA.
The meeting will be attended by: Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Ministers Joachim Brudziński and Witold Bańka, PZPN President Zbigniew Boniek, Ekstraklasa President Marcin Animucki, Totalizator Sportowy President Olgierd Cieślik, fans' chaplain Father Jarosław Wąsowicz, and the presidents of football clubs representing Poland in European competitions: Legia Warszawa, Jagiellonia Białystok, Lech Poznań, and Górnik Zabrze.
Prime Minister Morawiecki, in an interview with RMF FM, referenced issues related to fan displays during football matches. This aspect is also to be discussed during today's meeting. - The displays are beautiful. I remember many of them, they have certainly contributed well to preserving and restoring historical memory – he said. - We now only want to decide how far we need to go, but through compromise and in agreement with the fan communities and the football management bodies – argued the Prime Minister.
