Rafalska on Protesters' Proposal: "We Cannot Afford Such a Solution"
"Today, a proposal was submitted by the group of protesting mothers in the Sejm. It is not fundamentally different from the previous one, merely slightly modified. We are in a situation where an allowance for all individuals with a significant degree of disability would cost approximately 9-10 billion Polish zlotys. Due to the mistakes of our predecessors, ill-considered legal solutions, and financial consequences that were not properly calculated, there were instances where flawed solutions were implemented, leading to the current situation with several distinct groups. Adopting such solutions under pressure means that all other groups have acquired rights. In this situation, we are unable to finance and propose such a solution, considering the overall context," stated the Minister of Family, Elżbieta Rafalska, at a press conference.
