Trzaskowski:

I do not rule out asking Warsaw residents in a few months if they want the monument to remain on Piłsudski Square

Trzaskowski: I do not rule out asking Warsaw residents in a few months if they want the monument to remain on Piłsudski Square - I am not specifically commenting on this matter [Piłsudski Square]. I do not want to sanction lawlessness. If I were to say today that nothing will change, it would mean that we are actually giving tacit consent to what PiS is doing, and this is the annexation of not only Piłsudski Square but also the announcements regarding Castle Square on certain days. We will make these decisions together. I do not rule out asking the residents of Warsaw, but I also clearly state that my main priority is not to demolish anything. I will not make a definitive statement. I am dodging only to avoid sanctioning the violation of the law at this moment. A clear statement that everything will remain as it is could encourage PiS to continue breaking the law. I do not rule out the possibility that we will ask the residents of Warsaw whether, after a few months, they want this monument to stay there or if they want a different decision - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden" (One on One). He added that a monument of lights should have been built, and its absence is a mistake.
