Czaputowicz: Germany is our main political and economic partner in the EU and an important ally in NATO - Germany is our main political and economic partner in the European Union and an important ally in NATO. We welcomed the recognition of the special significance of the Polish-German partnership in the new government's program. Monday's visit by Chancellor Angela Merkel to Warsaw also confirms this. For our part, we declare our willingness to fill it with concrete content - said Jacek Czaputowicz in the Sejm.

"Friendly relations with Germany are a prerequisite for the success of any positive projects put forward in the European Union forum. In many areas of the EU agenda, such as defense cooperation, fiscal policy, or the consequences of Brexit, we present similar positions. We also appreciate Germany's role in maintaining sanctions imposed on Russia in connection with its aggression in Crimea and Donbas."

- We are interested in undertaking work to resolve issues where the positions of our two countries differ. We believe that the Nord Stream 2 project poses a threat to the energy security of the entire region, as well as to the common EU energy market. We will also talk about the need for compensation for Poles for losses incurred during World War II. We will seek legal, political, and financial opportunities for due compensation for the inflicted wrongs - stated the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
