Friday's Political Agenda: PM Morawiecki at V4 Summit, President Duda Continues in Davos, Constitutional Tribunal Judge Election, Tillerson's Visit
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will participate in the Visegrad Group summit in Budapest. At 9:30 AM, a family photo is scheduled, followed by participation in the Visegrad Group Prime Ministers' meeting at 9:45 AM. At 12:00 PM, a working lunch of the Visegrad Group Prime Ministers will take place, and at 1:45 PM, Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group countries will participate in a discussion panel.
At 12:30 PM, President Andrzej Duda will take part in a panel titled "Central and Eastern Europe: A New Agenda for the Continent?“ in Davos. This is the final item on President Duda's agenda. At 8:30 PM, the President will meet with the United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, at the Belvedere.
At 9:00 AM, a voting session will begin, during which Members of Parliament will elect Jarosław Wyrembak as a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal. They will also adopt draft resolutions concerning the Constitution for Business and a draft amendment to the Sejm's rules of procedure – ultimately only regarding the election of the National Council of the Judiciary, as PiS has withdrawn from other changes. This session is planned to conclude at 11:30 AM.
At 1:45 PM, a current affairs briefing is scheduled – at the request of the Civic Platform parliamentary club – concerning actions aimed at stopping the spreading wave of hatred and attitudes promoting fascism and Nazism in Poland, carried out by the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the Ministry of Justice.
