"The rule of law" thus became a tool for protecting the "acquired rights" of the nomenclature from the 1980s, which hindered subsequent governments' effective decommunization. In turn, the liberalization of trade guaranteed by the Washington Consensus in practice led to an even greater advantage of foreign capital over domestic enterprises. From beautiful ideas taken directly from Western liberalism, we built a "periphery democracy," as accurately described by Zdzisław Krasnodębski. After thirty years of testing ideas brought from seminars at Oxford, we now know that such a method is not effective. Liberalism does not have a single universal answer that can be applied in any historical conditions. And Kuisz also seems to know all this.”

-- MAZUR ON THE GENERATION OF INDEPENDENT LIBERALS: “So, we will have to wait a bit longer for a generation of independent liberals – independent of former masters and thinking schemes. However, such a freedom-oriented voice is very much needed. Between the domestic right, which hopes for a renaissance of the nation-state, and the left, which is looking for a formula for a progressive, socially engaged state, there is an important area of reflection from the perspective of individual freedom. However, this cannot be doctrinaire thinking, thinking from the position of a theory that is not particularly interested in facts. For freedom ceases to be an empty slogan only when it is supported in the practice of social life by specific institutions, culture, and the system. And these must be reinvented, sometimes clearly criticizing the achievements of former masters.”

The new block in Jaworzno, operating with the highest efficiency in its class in Europe, will reduce dust emissions by 91%, and nitrogen and sulfur oxides by 82% and 95% respectively. We are not abandoning traditional sources, but we are trying to use coal in a more modern and efficient way.”
